    whatever you do don't use this company! They were very prompt in coming the first time even showed up early. the next day they installed the new a/c and coil, while they were doing the install I noticed they were reusing the old copper pipes and on the paperwork is said they were installing new ones. when we brought it up they said it was a typo. we asked for a breakdown of the bill and they wouldnt give us one, the owner Tristan was even rude to use over text. Once they finished and left I noticed they had broken the ladder going into the attic, and just didn't bother to fix it. Two days later after the install, the Freon ran out, they sent someone out here to fix it and it was cool again for about a week and a half and now the Freon is empty again. Then they had the nerve to say we'll try to get somebody out as soon as we can instead of saying we'll have somebody come out there today to fix it.You would think it would be a priority since they didn't fix it last time. Overall I found that they were very shady. They don't care to make sure that their work is done correctly. Even once coming back out to fix it after two days of it being installed they still didn't fix the problem. Once they get paid, they don't care. they also removed the drip pan from underneath the coil so if the pipe ever backs up, it's gonna cause water damage on the ceiling.

    NO. Just NO. We had the Heroes install 3 new units - all 3 evaporator and condenser coils (the indoor and outdoor units) in 2017. They warranty their work for 2 years - and for two years they Heroically avoided our calls. It was as if they recognized our phone numbers and would not answer. We had to resort to borrowing other people's phones to reach someone. Their main number doesn't even tell you who you're calling and you have to leave a message - except their mailbox was always full. We have had problems with all 3 units ever since they were installed, and not one of these Heroes could ever gave us a diagnosis that made any sense. We paid the Heroes $20,000 and they gave us an invoice that doesn't even remotely reflect what they did. It simply states that they installed two 3 ton units and one 4 ton. That's it. No model numbers, no itemization of materials, labor, etc. A Heroic oversimplification, bordering on fraud. It has been 2 years and my Hero warranty is up. Naturally, here we are in the middle of a heat wave and our AC is out - AGAIN. We've called in several other AC companies to evaluate the system and are just BEGINNING to learn how badly we screwed up hiring the Heroes. For instance: 1. Not one of the evaporator coils (indoor) are the same size as the condenser coils (outdoor). All the evaporator coils are a ton (and more!) larger than their corresponding condensers. Any Heroes want to tell me why this isn't a problem? 2. The Heroes did not flush / vacuum the existing copper tubing of the refrigerant system which used R22 freon. They simply added R410A, which has damaged two of the 3 units (and will likely eventually cause the 3rd unit to fail any day now). As I understand it, leaving residual R22 in the tubing causes the compressor to stick and eventually fail, among other things. It is also the most likely culprit for blockages in the copper tubing - all of which had to be replaced yesterday at a cost of $1,600 (and that's just one unit y'all). 3. These Heroes didn't seal the plenums, blowers or return ducts, leaving gaps of 1" in some places. This allows cold air to escape into the attic. It also allows the unit to pull in 120° air from the attic (instead of pulling in 75° air from the house). When outdoor temps are 95°, the BEST all three units can do is bring us down to 80° inside. 4. An aluminum gas line is sitting directly on the external casing of the furnace instead of running from a steel elbow pipe. Over time, friction caused by running the blower could wear a hole in that aluminum gas line, causing a gas leak in our attic. One of the Heroes also ran that same gas line so that it touched the furnace exhaust duct. This is just some of the major stuff we've learned so far. I'll come back here and update as we find out more (unless our lawyer decides that would be imprudent). Some of the minor stuff we've dealt with over the last two years warrants mentioning, but I'm out of room so I'll just say sloppy, careless, leaky, trashy, and shady. So in a word: NO. They don't just "happen" to be doing a big job right now where they can score you some AC units dirt cheap and it is not your lucky day. Skip these Heroes and keep looking.

That level of responsiveness and customer care is rare. Jesus was the technician who came out, and he was exceptional. He was extremely transparent and showed us the capacitor readings beforehand which it was at 0, confirming it was completely dead. After replacing it, he walked us through everything step by step to make sure it was done correctly. We're very picky about who we let work on our home, and Jesus was professional, patient, and thorough. We've owned multiple homes and dealt with our fair share of tradespeople, and H-Town AC & Plumbing is truly at the top. First: Competitors I got several estimates - My home warranty's contractor, Home Depot/ARS, a friend's husband, and Richmond's Air. Richmond's Air was the most reasonable price among all estimates, even the friend! He also took less than 30 minutes to take a look and give me an estimate. Home Depot was here for hours and gave me a presentation and ultimately an unbelievably high price which they later slashed by $4k when I said I wouldn't choose them. Still too high, also weird that they were gonna charge $4k extra? Second: Communication/Punctuality James told me a reasonable window of time that the team would arrive and also when they'd complete the job. They gave me a call beforehand to let me know they were running a little late, regardless the job was done on time (same day). They replaced everything but my furnace. Finally: Service The team was friendly and explained anything I asked about and even helped me install my new thermostat. They put a drop cloth down from the front door to the AC and left minimal dust or mess. They also gave me the manuals for the equipment as well as told me about the 10 year warranty. This was all a month ago and my AC has been working perfectly since and air quality reads way cleaner than when I moved in. Dealing with a broken AC in Houston is horrible and I highly recommend reaching out to Richmond's Air instead of wasting time shopping for multiple other quotes. Maybe get one other one and compare, you'll see the difference. Price, service, and quality were great. Would definitely call again for my next home.

    I had Ruben (a guy with knee problem and a limp) come over to check a condo HVAC. He suggested a…read moretakedown of the entire system from the ceiling to determine if there was a Freon leak (found none, but charged me $500 without a receipt). He then proceeded to the roof (where the compressor is) and determined that the capacitor is bad (changed). He also said that there is a leak, as the Freon was empty. We had set the next day for his next visit to fill the system with Freon and add a dye (a leak detector), but did not show up after multiple calls. Got a different company for a recheck. The Freon was full, and there was a fuse removal/disconnect (in the control box next to the compressor) that was obviously done by Ruben (no one touched the system since the original installation). And guess what: the system fired up once the fuse was connected, and started cooling like a charm. In summary: Ruben obviously tampered with the power supply to make it look as if the system was dead. There was no need for take down of the coil cover to check for leaks, there was no leak, and the Freon was full. The guy is a liar and a fraud. Don't let him get close to your house. If there was an option for negative stars, I would give him - minus 10.

Get story in perspective: Sister-in-law is care giver for husband. Home was designed by him 45 years ago. Like us things fail , like our home furnace's. He said you really need to fix the furnace. The gas company had already turned off the gas to the unit in fear of a serious problem resulting. He wasn't allowed to turn it back on and said she had to have another furnace. We got wind of the entire situation here in Tulsa. OK, and reached out to Smart Air management. I was instructed to contact their individual in the field. After explaining who I was, he was very very helpful in working with me in getting a new furnace ordered and installed TODAY! Young mans name is Pete! I'll be forever appreciative of his professionalism. He handling all my calls and did exactly what was needed. Less than 24 hours after contacting Smart Air, they installed the furnace complete. Smart Air deserves 6 STARS! Caring gets Pete an extra Star! Oh by the way, they worked so well with me, they gave me a discount and tore up the check for the initial house call.

I explained my issue and they had a technician come out less than 90 mins later. My technician was Pete and he went to work right away. Pete was able to fix my issues & the repair did not break my bank. Pete was beyond professional and I would recommend Smart Air on his customer service alone. Hoping I never have to call Smart Air again but if I do I will be in good hands. This service was worth the value.
