ARS is expensive. HOWEVER, the work is great , they are on time, on schedule, high quality, above and beyond, but yes, the prices are on the high side. We have used them at our home and our business, and they have never disappointed. Tom was amazing when he stepped in to resolve an issue with installation, and Adam was great scheduling the whole process. If you have to have it done now, and done right, they are the people to call. However, If you need it done "whenever", and you are looking for a lower price point, then you may want to consider other choices. read more

No issue w/ a specific location, but with ARS as a whole. Wednesday at 3:30 pm the drainage line for the condensate pump began to leak which was possibly due to clogging. I also needed a tune up which I was told having the drainage line clean was included in a tune up. I schedule an appt between 6 pm - 10 pm that day. By 4:20 pm they called to tell me it needed to be a scheduled because they like to do tune ups "while the sun is still out." I schedule an appt for today between 12 pm - 4 pm. I call at 3 pm to confirm if I was still on the schedule to which I was told I was for that time and would receive a call when they were on the way. 10 min later I get a text saying my appointment was moved to 6 pm - 10 pm. So, I call back and the lady I spoke with (different person than before) told me they didn't even have me on scheduled and that she couldn't pull up the request. Terrible! read more

ARS continues to disappoint as we are reaching their 12th visit regarding the same repair recommended by ARS. The joy of ARS is that they don't check with the customer on their availability they just schedule, reschedule, and then come outside of their time frames but even with that, still can't manage to identify the cause nor fix the cause. We have had a total of 11 visits, and 6 (yes 6) reschedules, usually done after their 4 hour allotted window has expired and their failure to show. My favorite is the 6pm to 10pm window, that gets rescheduled the following day at 10:30 at night. No, not by them calling and apologizing no by an auto generated text message. I'm thankful I'm employed by a flexible employer. The generic text didn't even give the courtesy of asking if the time works (like a doctors visit text does-so I know technology exists). $4,000 later and I'm still sitting in my own sweat juices boiling next to Satan's taint. Hopefully the 12th visit is the winner. 0 out of 10 would not recommend. I would give zero stars but the Supervisor Tom was pretty great. read more

I called because my AC stopped working, and somehow I was being quoted almost $20,000 to replace my entire unit. Then suddenly the price magically dropped to $15,000. Huge red flag. I was also quoted around $1,200 just to replace a capacitor and contractor. We bought the parts ourselves for $40 and had the AC running again within 30 minutes with ZERO issues. They also pressured me HARD into financing, trying to rush me into signing documents before I had time to think. When I canceled, they acted like they would "handle everything," but thankfully I actually read the paperwork because additional cancellation forms had to be signed and sent to the finance company. If I hadn't caught that, who knows what I would've been stuck with. This company feels incredibly predatory and greedy. Don't call this company, this is just a google ads paid for business to generate a customer funnel- for any major plumbing they are exactly 10x of any local small business - they had quoted me $67k (yes $67,000 for a 54' new line of plumbing and a supposedly soooo needed 100' of liner) I had called 3 other licensed plumbers , all quotes were $4400-$4800 and the "oh so needed liner " on the second portion of my line turns out to not even be the actual Line my house is using - after 3 actual licensed companies came out. Please be careful with these franchises and their gimmicks leaving people with $20-$70k bills in very sneaky ways they also write their contracts - not sub totaling and leaving billing lines open to interpretation I guess so they likely lien your house if you can't dish out $70k on the spot. Beware of this company as they cost me an additional $1.7k due to interest from their financing. They will tell you they set up 0% financing over so many months, yet after a year of services you find out you are on a 10 year payback plan where your payments don't start until after the 0% interest payback period where you will think your were making payments the next month for big purchase services. Don't do what I did by just signing stuff regardless of what they tell you as this company does criminal stuff which I found out a year later. ARS cannot be trusted and you need to closely monitor your bank account along with monitoring the whatever you set up with them for payments. Their plans are designed to set up auto payments after the 0% interest over X amount of months so you start your first payment with interest yet that's not what was sold and presented. I purchased a brand-new AC system from ARS on August 20, 2025, and I am extremely disappointed with the experience so far. A system this new should not be giving me constant problems, yet I have had to make multiple service calls since the day it was installed. I've dealt with issues ranging from loud noises, refrigeration line problems, electrical malfunctions, and even a drain pipe that wasn't finished correctly. Now, less than a month after installation, the system is not cooling at all. I trusted ARS to provide a reliable AC system for my home, but instead, I've had nothing but frustration and inconvenience. For the price of a new unit, I expected quality and peace of mind -- not repeated breakdowns and repairs. At this point, I cannot say I am satisfied with ARS or this system. read more

Received a letter in the mail offering a hvac tune up. They had an opening Friday morning. The tech matched the person in the email. He was friendly and informative. This visit took 85 minutes compared to last year. First flag, he asked me to join him may the table for the results. He was still writing the receipt. I brought to his attention, I'm actually working and to give me a total which should have been $69. His 3 recommendations ranged from $3200 to $5200. The kicker was a $1500 home freshener unit. I told him twice I wasn't interested. He proceeded to ask why I thought of the price..... Naturally this was overpriced and beyond taking advantage of a customer. For the above prices I could have purchased a "new unit". I explained three times, I would only pay for the tune up not the other items. I have received numerous emails from ARS and tonight I received an invoice for a $99 diagnostic fee. Who does this?? I will call Monday to voice my complaint, along with contacting the BBB. March 3 2026 ARS had a service special. Tech came on March 3 and stated after inspection a capacitor need replaced. ok to replace and charge 250 dollars. Within a month had same trouble. ARS sent purported supervisor. He checked and said attic unit need to be replaced. After he left had leak in ceiling. Tubing was leaking by drain pan. Two different diagnosis only thing in common they wanted to sell new unit. After last tech left problem worser. The unit was running before he checked. Now won't cut on. If you're considering ARS Houston for an HVAC installation, don't. They completely failed to live up to their promises -- both in product and service. In 2023, I needed a new HVAC system. Home Depot referred me to ARS, and their pitch sounded great: cutting-edge Carrier Infinity system, multi-zone comfort, UV light purification, attic humidity control, etc. I agreed, mostly because they offered financing, unlike the smaller contractors. They quoted me $37,000, promising a full home overhaul -- new vents, foundation, drainage, and more. In reality, they reused much of my old setup, overcharged for basic parts (the UV light and solar fan can be found online for a fraction of what they billed), and failed to deliver the multi-zone system they promised. The system failed to cool my home on day one. They didn't respond for a week. When they did, they added four vents and acted like they were doing me a favor. Nearly a year later, the system still underperforms. When I called again, they said the valves were going bad and wanted $3,000 to fix it. Even though Carrier offers a 10-year parts warranty, they tried to charge me $1,800 to "cover their tech's time" -- a wildly inappropriate justification. As an engineering manager myself, I know the difference between internal cost metrics and customer service. This was just bad business. A supervisor eventually confirmed the issue and promised a follow-up. It's been three weeks. Six phone calls. Still nothing. ARS's motto is "Make it Work. Make it Right." My experience? I had ARS come to my house for a routine HVAC service inspection. Within 20 minutes I was being told that both furnaces needed to be replaced due to them being outdated and that ARS's policy was not to work on an aged system. Then the tech advised that both exhaust pipes had to be replaced. The quote sent to me was approx $17,000. I called out another company and was told everything could be REPAIRED for $400. My shower drain was draining very slowly from hair buildup. I googled "snake drain" and the first company that popped up was ARS. They were offering same day service $89. I picked a window for the next day. The tech quoted me $420. $420! He also acknowledged that there was not a problem, just a straightforward clogged drain. I had already skipped half a day of work for this (I do not work from home) and waited 3 hours into my scheduled window and needed this resolved. Do not use this company. False advertising- yes. I used their plumbing services to clear a clogged line. They offered the use of a camera to scope and check the line. The tech told me that it was going to cost me thousands of dollars to fix a problem. He told me I had to get the line repaired as it was cracked. I furtanately told them it was something I had to consider. Fortunately, I wanted to get a second opinion from a different company. This company (FYI) informed me that the fault was with the city line and not mine. They told me this is something that ANY experienced technician would be able to clearly see as the city line has a distinct color. ARS wanted me to pay to repair a city issue and they did not have a second concern about charging me for work. I told the technician I am on disability and could not afford such a large bill. How can one person do that to another, with out the blink of an eye. There needs to be stronger laws against individuals and companies who rip off others. They have special places in hell for these people. It is a shame that companies have to stoop so low to just get business. I suggest that you do not trust them and for me I will NEVER use any of the service again. read more

My air conditioner goes out on a Sunday. Not many places open on a Sunday, so I call ARS Rescue Rooter North. They told me $99 to come out & I tell them that was a little steep for me. They then go down to $79. I told them ok & was given a window time of 10-2. They never showed up or called. I call them & they said the tech is running late & he would call. It's 5:40 & I still haven't heard from them. I understand it could get busy, but a call would've been so easy. I've spent most of my Sunday waiting. I'll call another company tomorrow. Update. The tech called @5:48 & said he's on the way. When he arrived he was very courteous & worked quickly. The price he quoted was high & I was able to get it lowered. However, I know I paid more than I would've if I went with another company, but I couldn't take the heat anymore. ARS Rescue Rooter Houston - Yep And ARS Houston is back to their old ways of horrible customer service for work that they Did!!!!! And when trying to speak to anybody of importance is the same answer they were already spoke to and this is what they said....they do not want to cover damage that was caused by their equipment... this is the second incident we are dealing with on the same job completed a year ago.. Issue that I called in for: The furnace and duct have been sweating so much since last year that the water is now damaged the attic frame structure and dry wall is wet and seems to have mold. ARS sends Their Lead Tech Ron Kendziora out to inspect, that is when he discovered that two things have caused this my issue both being caused by ARS. One being that the wrong size duct was installed and that the thermostat was set to factory settings which was not calibrated to my unit that was installed. Reason for the calibration issue was because my Lennox was a newer model that none of the techs have been fully trained on. As for the wrong size duct, he said that sales rep is a 50/50 that they would have caught it but 100% the installers should have caught it and when they came out to do the inspection of job completed it 70/30 could have been caught. But that it was on them and he need to speak with his supervisor Jack and I would hear back from someone. Well it took two and half weeks and for Me to call and remind Ron and Jack to give me a resolution. Today 7/22/2025 Jack states that ARS only solution to "Help Me" is they will cover the replacement of the duct to the correct size to fit a new return duct that is in the wall. And im responsible for getting a GC to come and cut the hole in the ceiling and replace any wall frame wood that is damaged due to the water from the sweat. Jack said how they came to that solution is because IF it had been addressed in the beginning that would have been their answer then so it's the same answer now even though they admit to not have done their Advertised slogan of Exceptional work and found that issue in the beginning. That is not correct! I agree that if this had been addressed in the beginning that this would have been fine. But it wasn't!!! And any respectable Major Corporation who truly stands by their work and slogan Exceptional Work and customer service knows that if your equipment causes major to damage to customers property because your entire team did not do their jobs from beginning to end you are responsible to fix not only your wrong equipment but the customers damaged property caused by the wrong equipment as well. read more

I considered changing companies so I cancelled my scheduled June 30, 2025 appointment weeks before the date. However, a technician showed up and I told him that I cancelled the appointment and sent him away. When I called customer service, the woman saw that the cancellation had been noted in my account but scheduling wasn't informed. I got an invoice estimate immediately by email so I suspect they're charging this appointment against my record. I've dealt with this company for a while because they installed my HVAC system when I bought it through Home Depot. I've had some trouble with the technical proficiency of their technicians and the technicians seem to be salespeople. I also wonder about their pricing because one of them tried to sell me filters that were far more expensive than what I purchased from another company. read more

The quotes were extremely high as compared to other quotes I received! 46k to 50k! They just wasted my time! I called another company with a similar unit for a total of 12k with a better warranty. ARS was called due to plumbing backup and minor flooding in utility room and kitchen. They came promptly and first two, Chris and Jon, were personable and helpful. Of course, it became a upselling opportunity...but that is unsurprising. We agreed to replacement and repair. The actual plumbing work was started and finished in a timely manner and seems to be working okay. Our problems are with the collateral damage...which, of course, they don't fix. They had to pull up turf and we were told they'd put it back. They did...over dirt that hadn't been leveled out...so now we have ridges and valleys and the turf is in pieces...instead of level turf. We also have one sprinkler head that will no longer stay down...is always up. We have broken tiles on our patio and the brickwork was very poorly done...with a mess of mortar left on the wall. They did come back and clean up a little...after we told them it wasn't finished until the mess was at least cleaned up some. No damage was addressed at all. Perhaps this is the way all companies who do this operate...but I won't be using this one again. read more

Wednesday 10/30, I called them because my water heater was leaking which they installed back in March. To make a long story short the very late technician didn't find any leak in their installation & told me it may be the tank.. he wanted to uninstall it and reinstall it to find the leak for $1570- but he'd do it for a flat $1000. I declined opting to call Rheem instead...but later that night I heard dripping & noticed the ceiling was damp above the water heater & the vent connected to the water heater was leaking.. I called them back- 24/7 ?? Not for a technician! They sent a guy today.. he told me it was likely a pipe, couldn't quote me on how much it would cost but did tell me to cut he had to the sheetrock & it would be $89...and suggested I call my home warranty. I decided I'd call them. However, I changed my mind after speaking with them as they started in on cutting and removing thing that were not covered to gain access. Anyways, I call ARS back to go ahead & fix the issues. I spoke to Larry at the North branch, at 3:47 PM for someone to arrive by 6PM TODAY. Cool, I called into work today to get this mess done. I had to call back several times because closer it got I didn't receive a call. Finally I was transferred to dispatch & able to speak to them myself & found out all the times I called they told me they would check with dispatch they lied to me! Dispatch told me the appointment was scheduled but NO ONE was EVER assigned & all the technicians were gone for the day!!! WTF!! I was even told before speaking to him at 6:15 PM that the technician was running behind on a project & he has until 10 PM! AFTER speaking to dispatch I called trying to speak to Larry as he told me if I ran into problems to ask for him just to be told he was not available... 3 times when I called the person NEVER said a word to me but had the tv on real loud & was cussing & arguing with her boyfriend! I recorded it too . I feel like they treated me like this because they were getting pissed at my constant calls & having to send someone out again x3. I wasn't trying to be difficult, however, in just 6 months I've spent over $20,000 of my own money on repairs that had a "limited warranty" or something else needed to be as it was not "up to code" or " not covered" bill.. I'm tired & frustrated. even though The dispatch guy rescheduled me himself for this Saturday.. hmph! let's see!!! I called a different out of state number they have see if they would transfer me to Larry as I had 'questions ' for him, but even at this number I was sent back to the person arguing with her boyfriend! Finally when I someone answered me & a voiced my concern she said, " It must be a work from home person you were transferred to!" Oddly enough I didn't give her or the last person my name but they called me by it. So they have ID! Were they just antagonizing me the many other times I called knowing full well it was me! I called this company to clear a clog in a toilet. They made an appointment & they arrived on time. The technician came in and ran a line down into the drain and said his supervisor ( Salesman ) would be there soon. He arrived and shoved a camera down the hole & said that I needed extensive repair. Just to clear the sewer line would be $9K, but to do the correct job would be $16K. He was high pressure to get me to approve the work. I did not approve the work and called a different plumber that came out the next day and did the complete job for $4K. I had a water heater installed by these individual as a contractor to Lowes, the installation was done very well and in a timely manner. What has me writing a review with a low rating is the badging phones calls that ensued afterwards. They started calling me 2-3 a week from 8am up to 5pm asking about a turn up for my a/c or flushing of the water heater (they installed and is less than a year old). Numerous times I asked them respectfully to note on this account that I had a contract for quarterly inspection of my A/C system by the installer and that I would call them for the water heater flush when ready. They never noted this information or cared to read the file of their customers before calling. I was looking forward to using this group when it was time for water heater maintenance however, I seriously doubt I will now. read more

LaTonia Denice. I had them to come out in 2021 to install my out side unit, then again in 2023 to do my HVAC system. I've called them several time to come out because the outside unit was making a noise. Sunday 4/20 a Tech came out said I needed a new coil. Monday 04/21 another tech was dispatched out side the HVAC system had a leak. A Supervisor was supposed to come out on Tuesday no show no call. Spoke to the manager Rodney on 4/23 he said after review of the reports from Both the techs that came out my repair bill would be $1,800.00 I got a second opinion and what ARS said was wrong was not the issue, something was clogged to repair that issue cost me less then $400.00.
