Going to make this one quick and simple. Service was okay (took some time to flag servers down) and the ambiance was great along with the decor. We ordered the String Beans, Array 36 Signature Roast Duck, Crispy Shrimp, and Lotus Appetizer. To sum it up, everything was okay or mediocre given the high price tag of the dishes. The string beans were honestly the best tasting thing to me unfortunately. There are many better Chinese restaurants in the SGV if you're looking for authentic delicious flavors.

What a spread. Array 36 delivered on every course for Valentine's Day. Everything was visually dramatic, texturally satisfying, and of course, DELICIOUS! Peking duck came out in proper fashion: bronzed skin, juicy meat, steamed wraps, and all the traditional accompaniments -- julienned cucumber, scallion, hoisin, bean paste. I've been craving Peking duck every day since this meal! Service was attentive without hovering. The room itself -- low lighting, red and gold florals on each table -- made the Valentine's night feel intentional without being cheesy. Array 36 earns a return visit. Come hungry and bring someone worth sharing with.

The Pekin duck was my signature dish with the pancakes and side dishes all combined gives you that juicy wrapped chinese burrito taste The truffle sliced chicken was my other favorite dish. The sliced beef with daikon soup was delicious, flavorful and tender beef flavor. The soup was delicious Other dishes were ok, but the portion was kind of small comparing to other restaurant sizes . We ordered a set lunch of $98 that came with other vegetables dishes and dessert . Believes the size will probably feed 4 people. We were 6 in a party, so it was kinda small and not enough to fill our stomach. As for the inside it looks pretty awesome aesthetic and fancy feel. Service was just meh, I had to keep asking for the server to refill the tea because it was small and we drank a lot of water. Overall, it's worth trying for the first time if you haven't lol

We been here for a couple times now. Our experience is getting better and better. Their servers are attentive, we didn't realize our shrimp hasn't arrive yet, but they reminded us and checked on us. We arrived late tonight after 8pm and they still accepted us and we don't feel rushed at all. Very nice and beautiful restaurant and their food is great especially their duck. They have very nice private party rooms. Highly recommended for any occasion. We will be back soon.

Three of us went for Lunar New Year week's dinner and which is 222 February 22nd We ordered a whole duck with the fire show and we loved the deck The skin is very crispy and the meat is tender and juicy The radish pickles is the must pairing with the Peking duck It is so delicious Serive is just ok and they don't check us very often but they come to change our plates Their business is good and pretty much is a full house on Sunday night

Went to this place for the first dinner between my fiancé and mom. The decor and atmosphere was amazing and definitely felt like a restaurant in China. Food options was good and priced fairly. Music was a bit loud and whole decor was geared towards a younger crowd. Not as big as you think and very steep $500 minimum for a private room. I would return but not with mom and older people.

Had a great experience at array 36 . The food was flavorful and authentic, with a wide variety of Chinese dishes to choose from. The highlight was definitely the Peking duck--crispy skin, juicy meat, and perfectly seasoned. It's one of their must-try dishes and a favorite for many customers.

I ordered Set C from their new lunch set menu, priced at $98, which includes eight different dishes. It felt well worth the price for both the quality and portion size. The set could definitely satisfy a group of 4. The Set C included: - Truffled hand-pulled chicken - Chili tofu skin salad - Signature roast duck - Fish slices with pickled mustard greens in a golden sour soup - Clear beef rib soup - Dry-fried string beans - Seasonal dessert

My family and I came here for Christmas Day, and unfortunately, it was a disappointment for me, especially considering the prices. We were probably most excited for the duck (there's the option for them to carve it in front of you or they can give it to you pre-cut). The duck wraps were good, however, the ratio of the amount of duck versus the toppings was very off. The amount of toppings they gave you was probably enough for just two wraps, and you had to pay extra for more toppings. Additionally, the beef dish we ordered took ages to come, and we had to ask about it multiple times, and almost canceled it, but they insisted it was coming soon. My favorite dish we ordered was probably the Spicy Mung Bean Jelly. The cold noodles were refreshing, and the spicy sauce was very good. I'm not sure if I'd return here.

Saw all the hypes about this place and specially their signature dish of the Peking duck. We went here to celebrate a birthday and we were quite disappointed with the foods. We ordered the special Peking duck, with the promotion, BOGO to redeem in the next visit, crispy shrimp, steamed fish, pea sprouts stir fry with garlic, pickled okra and Chawanmushi. If you selected the Peking duck promotion, there will not be a show at the table. It will all cut up on the plate. It came with 10 pancakes and the normal condiments. The duck itself has no flavor and the skin is not crispy at all. If you need an additional, there is a charge of $10 per request. $10 of the pancakes, $10 for the sauce and scallion, etc.... The steamed fish is just a mehhhh. The crispy shrimp and the garlic pea sprouts stir fry were good. The venue and the services were excellent but That's it. They nickel and dime you for everything. We ended up going elsewhere for desserts. Not even sure if we want to come back and redeem the free Peking duck promotion. Don't waist your money here.

Great food with lots more to offer. Food comes out really quick and the sever keeps coming to check and refill the tea. The lighting is just right.

Array 36 is definitely a top tier restaurant; from the moment you walk in to the last bite of their dessert. The ambiance is intimate. The hosts and servers were attentive and friendly. With a party of eight, I made reservations just in case. They do offer private rooms but you must spend $600. The food was outstanding; in presentation and in taste. They were flavorful and not too salty. I really enjoyed the jellyfish dish. It was unique and tasty. The Peking duck was exceptional. It was sliced perfectly and tasted so yummy wrapped in the crepe-like wraps. However, I would have wished we opted for the show. Lastly, the dessert was complimentary and it was delicious, too. It was stiffen from the typical desserts you always get after dinner. We had an amazing time and will be returning to use our coupon for a free duck.

First time here, and the food and atmosphere are way better than expected -- this is authentic Chinese food. The highlight is their Peking duck -- hands down the most authentic and delicious duck I've had since 1996, on both the East and West Coasts of the US. The Sichuan peppercorn beef is tender and flavorful. The baked rice eel casserole is also worth praising -- rich in taste and with the perfect crispy rice at the bottom, a very pleasant surprise. The braised pork with yam is another dish we enjoyed. Highly recommended -- coming back for sure.

Is it (small) kids friendly?

Sure, a typical high end Chinese restaurant.

Can we bring own wines, any fee will apply?

Yes $25 corkage fee

Is this a no tipping required restaurant?

Of course NOT!!

Does Array 36 have a banquet menu?

How do I make a reservation?

You can call to make one!

Do we have to preorder the duck in advance? I called and the person said it might not always be available in the main dining room?

When we made ressies we were told you couldn't pre-order the duck and it was a first-come-first serve situation. However, the alleged owner "Arthur Z." wrote a response to my review and said you could indeed pre-order the duck. Subsequent reviews… Read more

The restaurant accommodates large parties The portion sizes of dishes are probably for medium (6) to large (10) parties usually. My question is, can a small party of 2 still order a variety of dishes with portions tailored to small parties (2)?

We use a menu that is either High Tea or Champagne Brunch. The High Tea menu is designed as little sample bites that taste good together.

Do I need to make a reservation before I come? Cause no one pick up the phone calls

Since soft opening I guess need make reservations

Do you open for lunch , and the business hours?

Won't allow to change some food on banquet menu, just had to add another dish. Food came out fast & with big plates, hardly any space on table, waiter just left it on top of 2 serving trays. They didn't care that serving plates were still full. The beef loc lac was tough, deep fried fish sauce tasted weird with their sweet sour sauce, pea sprouts which I was trying to change to another dish but couldn't, sure enough was so fibrous & chewy. The special fried rice was so full of all different kinds of meat that it was like a meal in itself. With 10 different dishes it would have been better to serve plain white rice. Felt service could been better for 18% service already added on bill. Tea was even charged. Had to ask for menu at cashier & was told already at table, asked for waiter so we can order, had to ask for water, spoons & forks or to have some serving plates taken away to have more space at table. There were few waiters & feel that they were not attentive and restaurant was not even busy. Even parking lot was not full but there was courtesy valet parking & girl was insisting on parking the cars even though several cars was starting to line up. I would never recommend or return to this place again. Just disappointed that my guests did not enjoy the food as well.

The braised tofu with mushrooms and broccoli was also really solid. It's comforting and really well seasoned. Brick toast was really good too. We originally were hoping for 7 or 7:30, but based on how busy and popular this place is I can see why they said no. Come early and get seated right away and there's still ample parking in their parking lot. By the time we left at 7:30p, the lot was packed and people circling around hoping to snag a spot from folks leaving. The restaurant is pretty large and has about 3 rooms with different size tables and booths. No matter the size of your party, there's a table that will accommodate. The staff were very nice and attentive and FAST! We had our food out probably 15 min after we put in our order! Now...on to the food. We ordered one of the set menus for our party of 7 and it was spot on! As you can see in the pictures we had all the "classics". Our set meal could easily be enjoyed by at least 10 people. We had so many leftovers! The food was all well prepared and sufficiently seasoned. Portions of each dish was plentiful and everyone will be able to get enough to satisfy. My favorite items: lobster (duh!), kung pao chicken, pork chops, and shaking beef. The seafood soup is a great starter, and don't forget to add a little vinegar and pepper! The Restaurant has plenty of space, but I chose to be seated near the entrance, since that's where I saw most of the staff standing, that way when I need something it's easy to reach out for them. The Menu was handed to us and I saw a lot of things on their Menu in a package deal, like a family style order. I didn't order that 'coz I am not familiar with some of the things on the menu so we just chose ala cart. I ordered a few things that I knew my Husband and Son would enjoy. * 5.75 pounds of LOBSTER with GARLIC PASTA. *CRAB with TAMARIND SAUCE *PORK CHOP SALT & PEPPER * YANG CHOW FRIED RICE I wanted to order more, but I was impressed with how HONEST our server was, he said "I think you should see first when the food comes out 'coz your Lobster alone is already big. I'm glad I listened to his advice 'coz at the end of our dinner we still had plenty left 'coz the servings were big, especially the Lobster with Garlic noodles. The 5.75 pounds of LOBSTER with Garlic Pasta was Huge when they delivered it to our table, the shells were already pre cracked, so it was easy to get the Lobster Meats. Omg! having the Garlic noodles with this dish is delicious! But surprisingly this time , I loved the CRAB more than the Lobster , but both were really really good, but the reason that I liked the Crab more is because the seasoning or Flavor of the sauce that I chose for our crab is so delicious!!!! The Crab was meaty and it has a good Tanginess with a light sweetness and a light spiciness to it. While my Husband and Son were enjoying the Lobster, I was devouring the Crab ;) The Fried rice and Pork was good too, but it's just the same taste as we always get on the other restaurants. The food here were delicious, the crab was totaly devoured by me and there was plenty of the Lobster left. It was DELICIOUS, but it was a Big Portion with all that Chunky Lobster Meats and Garlic noodles, my husband and son said that it was a heavy meal and made them so full :) The Foods were delicious, the portions were big, there were Plenty of Parking around, and the Service was Excellent. If ever we are in the area again, I will definitely make a stop here.
