Chewy was our pleasant waiter, very friendly and attentive. Fresh cold water when we sat down and a nice short easy menu to peruse and decide from. No frills, no uneasy decisions. Simple greatness is all that's needed. I'm guessing every table gets the Caesar salad, which was a botttomless pile of fresh lettuce, tons of delicately grated smoothe Parmesan cheese, delicate crumbles of breadcrumbs, with an absolutely decadent Caesar dressing - pleasantly spread throughout the whole entire plate of goodness. Next time I will try the fresh loaf of bread sliced thick with a bowl of cherry tomatoes. Whoa that looked great. Every plate that walked by us whispered 'try me' next time!! Saved the salami Calabrese pizza for home directions on the box which provided the most perfect texture for a reheated pizza we've ever had. Delightful! The pizza. The crust. I can't even believe a whole table while we were eating there skipped the crust of the whole pie. You can't! That's a sin! Greatest sourdough pizza, dare I say delicate but hearty? Perfectly crisp yet soft where it's necessary. I can't wait to try more flavors. Such an adorable place at 'the Camp' -quaint yet plenty of seating outside too for a larger party. It's all you need for a perfect slice of heaven! Thank you Folks! We will definitely be back!

Yes, the shop is small, but as soon and my girlies and I walked inside, we immediately were welcomed and given the ~shpiel~ of what to expect for a typical dine-in experience. I'm pretty sure we talked to the manager yesterday--very knowledgable and made us feel less intimidated with decision paralysis. There were tons of yummy options on display (...I'm looking at you, Chorizo pizza). For yesterday's visit, I got the Contadina which has Italian sausage in it (and a bunch of other ingredients that I forgot lol) and the Rosa pizza. I'm a huge fan of vodka sauce in pasta and the Rosa surely won my heart at first bite. One of my friends ordered the Japanese pizza, which also looked delicious. Will I be back? Definitely, just probably not as much since it's bit of a drive from where I'm at. Another pizza/piece of my heart is now with the Sugo shop. :-)

I ordered the Killer Bee pizza, and after one bite I understood why it's one of their best sellers. It comes with tomato sauce, mozzarella, Gorgonzola, natural pepperoni, fresh basil, and a drizzle of spicy honey. I wasn't sure how the spicy honey would taste on a pizza, but it gave every bite a little sweetness with just a touch of heat. It was a combination that really surprised me. The crust had a nice crunch on the outside while staying soft inside. The pepperoni had a great flavor, the cheese was excellent, and the sauce tasted fresh. Everything tasted fresh from the first bite to the last. This pizza definitely earned a spot near the top of my list. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other pizzas.

We were in the Costa Mesa are before we were going to head out back north and my crew wanted to have this deep dish pizza again. What we liked was the crust was so good. It wasn't overly cornmealish like some of these "authentic" Chicago pizza places. I grew up out here in the west, so I'm used to a more flaky light crust. My first Deep Dish Chicago pizza was Zachary's in Berkeley in the Bay Area. This Costa Mesa location is located just south of the 405 at Harbor Blvd. Go to Baker Street and turn left and it's right there. Easy Parking. One thing you gotta know about the deep dish pizzas, they take longer to cook cause they're just so big and need more cooking time, like maybe 35-40 minutes, depending on how busy the kitchen is. We get a classic combo pizza and have some drinks while we wait. It arrives and oh boy does that look good. Dishing it out takes a little practice, but we're good at that now! Everybody loves the flavor and crust. This isn't the cheapest pizza round, but well worth the price and wait. You want cheap go to Straw Hat or something like that.

Our server Peter was so kind and friendly and made our whole experience by making sure we were comfortable by bringing us a heater, water and anything else we needed. Fries were crispy and delicious and i appreciate the various dipping sauces - ranch, garlic aioli, & ketchup. The pizza was wood fired and the crust was so wonderfully charred and fluffy at the same time. The tiramisu was just perfect, but please note that they have a seasonal menu so they will rotate these items out. Will definitely be back before this dessert is gone!

Would def order them again. The only downside was the parking. We circled the parking lot for a while trying to find a spot before giving up and going to valet. Huge disappointment for a birthday dinner -- all hype, lacking basic hospitality…read more We came to Ospi to celebrate my wife's birthday with our daughters, but the experience was a letdown from start to finish. For a restaurant with this much hype, the service and execution were shockingly poor. Right off the bat, the pacing was agonizingly slow with massive gaps between staff visits. Our water glasses sat empty for most of the night. The food issues were even worse: Bolognese: My wife ordered the Bolognese, but the waitress never mentioned any dietary details or recent menu changes. As the food runner was setting the plate down in front of her, they casually mentioned that they recently changed the recipe to include pork. My wife doesn't eat pork, but because it was her birthday and she didn't want to make a scene, she basically didn't eat dinner. Filet Mignon: I ordered my filet medium-rare. It arrived completely well-done and practically inedible. I had to send it back, and the replacement didn't arrive until everyone else at the table had already finished eating. To cap off a birthday celebration, the server never even stopped by to offer dessert or ask how the night was going. I eventually had to flag someone down just to get our check. Ospi fell completely flat on service, kitchen timing, and dietary communication.

(I couldn't order online, because my bank card had fraudulent activity, I was waiting for a new one in the mail, and had to pay cash). So I had to drive to the restaurant to place an order in person. And then sit there and wait for 30 minutes. I asked the girl at the front what was up with their phones, and she stammered through some weird answers (saying they worked in the back but not the front?) before lying to me and saying "our system is down." Also, adding a 3% "happy and healthy" charge (that is NOT gratuity!) to "support our ability to provide sustainable income" automatically added to every bill is SO CHEAP and cringy- PAY YOUR OWN EMPLOYEES. Build into the cost of your food. This place has gone downhill. Food was decent. That's the only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of one.
