I am extremely disappointed. Why did we have to wait 3 hours to get seated and then another full hour to receive our food? Listen, I understand that it was busy & kitchen staff can only do so much, but that still doesn't take away that the server was very snappy and having to wait so much time. They also gave us inaccurate sitting times, "it'll be an hour wait" it'll be an extra 20 and so on and so on, making it 3 hours !? I asked questions about the menu and she just cut me off and said "nothing is customizable". We also tried to order more food and shes like "everything is family sized, so you don't need more" What they're really trying to do, is get you to eat in 5 minutes and get you out! Girl, we waited 3-4 HOURS to eat and you wanna rush us out??? Like absolutely WHAT. The wings were my favorite part of everything. They were so tasty and you do get a good amount. The pizza was good as well, I loved the crust, just a bit too burned. We also sat next to the window where you can watch the cooks and they looked so mad and annoyed, like you do know people can watch you work. I will certainly never wait 3-4 HOURS again. But I would order it for takeout. Maybe that'll be a bit quicker? The vibe, it's really small. Really small inside and they even have a table next to the restroom, not pleasant. And lastly, no same day reservations...? I hope things change around here cause it's for sure not cheap! But I can see the quality. Again not for the amount of time we waited.

food: it was okay. i saw the high rating and expected a bit more, but the pizza was mainly crust and the crust tasted burnt. the chicken wings were so interesting, i can't describe. i will say their portions are ginormous service: interesting... we got sat and a server introduced themselves, saying they'd be right back and never came back? and then another server came and introduced herself, took our order, and while we were eating another server took over? it's like they rotate servers, but everyone was extremely friendly! took a while to take our order and food to come out, but other than that everything was good! ambiance: i would recommend making a reservation as it does get pretty busy. they have indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a high top outside. very casual

Dropped by while we were in the neighborhood. 45 minute wait for a party of 2 at around 6:30 on a Wednesday evening. The crust/dough here is solid. Lots of flavor and crisp textures. I only wish they would place a rack between the pizza and platter so it doesn't sog out. Sausage and Market pizzas were our choices tonight. Loved the house made fennel sausage with aged mozz and basil. The Market is seasonal with fresh corn, Jimmy Nardellos and their bianco base. Lots of fresh/sweet pops of corn in each bite. Shout out to the fries that are also on the menu. Fried perfect and seasoned just right. Hints of garlic and herbs with a fun mustard aioli and ketchup on the side. Picked up their basque cheesecake to go. I declined the dulce de leche drizzle. I wish it was more burnt, but I happy to say that it did ooze slightly at room temperature.

I would recommend making a reservation in advanced as this place does get super packed, even on a weekday. Their oven does hold about 8 pizzas, so there will be an estimated wait time given to you by the waiter/waitress. Our wait time was about 30-40 minutes. Over the appetizers were decent, the lemon juice is strong on Caesar salad so it is more on the acidic side. I liked it tho. The pizzas were really good - it has a crunchy crust and thin dough. It was a good one time experience!

If I could give this place zero stars, I absolutely would. We had an 8:30 p.m. reservation for three people, but only two of us ended up coming. For some reason, that became an issue because they weren't sure where to seat us in case our third person showed up later--even though we repeatedly told them not to worry about it. As soon as we sat down, our waiter told us the kitchen would be closing soon and asked if we had any questions because we needed to order quickly. He even told us we had two minutes left to place our order. Since we knew the kitchen was closing, I ordered a pizza to go at the same time as the rest of our meal so it would be ready when we finished eating. We ordered the bread and labneh, wings, and three pizzas. The bread and labneh was the only thing we genuinely enjoyed. The wings had such a bad smell that we boxed them up immediately without eating them. The pizzas were disappointing as well--burnt, with toppings that didn't taste fresh. To make matters worse, our two dine-in pizzas came out at different times. After we finished eating, paid our bill, and packed our leftovers, we waited for the to-go pizza that had been ordered when we first sat down. We were repeatedly told, "Just three more minutes." Then someone else explained there was a "cooling process" for the pizza and that's why there was a delay. At that point, we had already finished our meal, paid, and were simply sitting around waiting for an order that should have been ready. I asked to speak with a manager. A staff member walked over to who I assumed was the manager, and from where I was standing I could clearly see them talking about my daughter and me through the window. Eventually, a very kind employee came over, apologized, and politely explained the pizza process again but it didn't change the fact that we were still waiting. At this point I left informed enough about process that I can just go back to the kitchen and prepare my pizza. She also told us the manager was busy on the phone handling another situation. Based on how the evening had gone, I wasn't surprised. When the manager finally came over, we explained everything. His response was simply that it's normal for a pizza to take 30 minutes or more. I reminded him that I had intentionally ordered it when we placed our dinner order because we had been told the kitchen was closing in two minutes. I even had text messages to my son showing I had asked him what he wanted before placing the order. He then insisted the kitchen closed at 9:30, despite the fact that we had watched the kitchen being cleaned and shut down around 9:00. He showed absolutely no concern, offered no apology, and seemed genuinely confused about why I was upset after waiting 30-40 minutes for a pizza that should have been prepared while we were eating. I told him I wasn't going to argue with someone who couldn't see the problem. I let him know I'd be sharing my experience online and asked for his name. He proudly replied, "Logan," and seemed to welcome the review. Restaurants earn repeat customers through great food, great service, or ideally both. Unfortunately, this place delivered neither. Aside from the bread and labneh, the food was poor, the customer service was even worse, and the manager's complete lack of accountability was the final disappointment. I will never return, and I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. I also added photos to depicting the burnt crust hence the cooling process from the torching of the pizza and the basil that looked fried as well Mind you this is not our first time eating pizza out but definitely the last time at Folks!! As far as Logan and his handling of the situation he needs to go back to being a server, or take some hospitality training or fired!! I also want to note the smell of the chicken , I noticed other customers mentioned weird smell of the food. I think the food and health organization should be informed about their kitchen Hopefully this review will save people from going to this restaurant that really doesn't care or believe in customer service! I can't imagine this place lasting much longer. It's definitely a one time and never again experience!! Also please note this was not about wanting anything back I had already paid and packed. So we were not expecting a credit or anything but maybe some kind words and an apology instead of the humiliation we received and the training on mediocre pizza making.

Huge fan of this place. We tried the fennel sausage pizza, mushroom pizza, and the free range chicken wings. They use sourdough for the pizza and that immediate caught my attention for the uniqueness. That, and the fact there's a line outside almost every day. The pizzas are also large at 14 inches and are cut at six pieces each. The wings had an immediate strong smell from the Italian fish sauce but they were amazing. We ended up devouring everything. The place itself is rather small but there's plenty of seating, especially outside. The server was also very kind and attentive and helpful with any questions we had. Highly recommend getting a reservation in advance or else you'll be waiting for a while. When we arrived in time for our reservation, we got sat almost immediately. Also, parking is extremely tricky in this area so either arrive early go to valet to make it easy. After eating, it's fun to walk around the area to see the stores and breweries.

Worth a try! The pizza crust here is AMAZING. Light, airy, crispy, and maintains structure to hold up the delicious toppings. All the ingredients tasted super fresh! Started off with the meatballs. You MUST order the meatballs. Sauce is perfectly seasoned, and the bread that accompanies this dish is perfect. Can't go wrong with beef tallow fried fries and Caesar salad either! Also ordered their wings. I was intrigued by the "Italian fish sauce" that was listed as an ingredient. The wings are definitely a flavor bomb, but I wouldn't order them again. Personally, a bit too salty. Finished off with the "burnt" cheesecake. (They really love burning things here.). It was just okay. I'd pass on that. Our server was great, but some of the food runners were meh if you care about that sort of thing. If you haven't checked out Folks by now, you should.

Good BUT so salty !! Idk if it was just the day we went. The chicken wings is coated in a yummy fish sauce but it was pretty salty. The pizza has a really good crust. Not sure if it was the pepperoni or the cheese but it was also very salty . Very busy on a Saturday afternoon so we opted to do take out! Took about 30 mins.

Heard about his place and walked by it a few times. Finally had the chance to get the team to visit this establishment for our dinner meeting. Food is good. Their pizza offering have a selection of white and red sauce options. when served hot, crust was good and flavor is as expected. Their bread and butter is exceptional! If you are going to get anything here, make this a priority. Caesar salad is also a great choice. The staff was attentive to our needs since we sat outside when the sun was setting. Had to hold the menu up to block the glare until the round thing settled. But to truly highlight the pizza, it was a bit on the greasy side and taste didn't yield anything of exceptional in terms of flavor or texture. Regardless, do not let my review deter you from trying this establishment as preferences with food varies. I just happen to be exposed to various types and styles of pizza. Within that hierarchy, this is decent by that standard and good for OC. Come try and judge for yourself. It's a fun environment. :)

There was a lot of hype from friends about Folks, and I'm happy to announce that I was not disappointed. The do a family style and everything is big enough to share. Everything we ate was fantastic and I especially loved their version of a Caesar salad! Our server was absolutely wonderful too. He was working large parties inside and out and was still getting everything to us in a timely manner and even gave our friend a complimentary birthday dessert. Looking forward to another visit soon!

Thank god we had a reservation because the restaurant was small! Definitely could be a long wait if you go on the weekend. I went with my friends and got two pizzas to share: Fennel Sausage and Soppressata. My favorite was definitely the sausage because of how flavorful it was! Not sure what they put in the crust, but I had a sauce on the side I used to dip it.. phenomenal. The salad was a nice, refreshing touch to this entire thing. I can't wait for an excuse to come back!

Came here for a girls night and it was perfect! We shared two pizzas, a salad and french fries. I will say the salad could use some extra dressing on the side and the pizza we weren't huge fans of the crust being that dark but it had great flavor overall! Our server was very friendly and helped us decide what pizza to get. This is the perfect spot for a date night or girls night and booth by bryant is just right next door to get some good photo booth pics right after!

Rating: 8.5/10 Second time at Folk's Pizzeria and it does not disappoint. Caesar Salad had big portions with crisp, fresh leaves and anchovies on top. Only knock is it could've used a bit more Caesar dressing, but other than that it was great. Fish sauce chicken wings were very pungent and tasty. Great choice for appetizer while waiting for your pies. Salami Cups Pizza was my favorite of the night. Salami crisps up perfectly, giving that salty bite in every slice. Crust is crispy, fresh, and made to order. This is the one to get. Truffle Fungi Pizza had really good flavor, but definitely on the heavier side. It was great for a couple slices, but hard to keep going after that. Pizzas took about ~30 minutes to come out, but quality made it worth the wait. One of the better pizza spots in OC!

Is this considered to be Neapolitan pizza, or it's slightly different in some way? I noticed that the Folks website does not mention Neapolitan, so I think it must not be fully Neapolitan, but it does look like it.

This is the closest you'll get to neapolitan pizza without flying to Napoli.

Any update on vegan options? I see the question asked a lot and no solid answers.

Not many garlic free options unfortunately. It's Italian food and almost everything has some garlic in it. I know because I have asked. I have garlic and onion intolerance. It's not a lot. Food is so good, I take the chance of having some…

    They do not.

He was such a great server, on top of refills, clearing the table, getting orders in, checking on food that hadn't come out yet, and awesome conversation. He made the evening perfect. The dining area is on the dark side, quite intimate honestly, and very upscale feeling. There's a large bar area too if you're just looking for a couple drinks. We started with a plate of artichoke hearts, radishes, celery, preserved lemon hummus, and olives. It was very good and a nice start to the meal. Also ordered the caramelized brussels sprouts which were good. The best starter however were the lump crab and shrimp stuffed mushrooms with creamed spinach and panko bread crumbs. My picture does not do them justice, they were perfect! Very tasty, a slight crunch, and quite hot right out of the oven. I got the cedar plank salmon with French green beans and asparagus. My wife got the 6oz filet mignon with the same veggies. The salmon was cooked perfectly, still juicy inside, very hot, and just the right amount of flakey. The filet was also cooked perfectly, seasoned well, and tender. All our veggies were tasty and fresh. They have a ton of cocktails, wine, and beer to choose from. The drinks we got were made well and delicious. I will absolutely go back often especially to try their other seasonal menus.

The chef uses his free range of creativity and offers such unique and amazing ingredients in all of his dishes. He truly cares and has a passion for beautiful food. My wife and I know alot of chefs and restaurants in SoCal and this is some of the best food we can find. Chef Jonathan and his kitchen staff are all one of a kind. They shop for only the freshest ingredients and offer a variety of seasonal dishes throughout the year. The Pork Belly Taco has been a long standing menu item that literally NEVER disappoints. It is incredible. Every tostada the chef creates is amazing. And the Green Goddess dressing on their salad is worthy of bottling and drinking straight. The wine program is also incredible. The range of wine is amazing and everyone on staff is SO knowledgeable about every wine they offer. If you aren't sure about wine or how to pick out you can give them the simplest explanation of what wine you want and they will bring over several bottles to chose from and will give you an in depth and beautiful description of all of them before you decide what you want. Amazing food, wine, music and vibes are all huge perks but what really sets Bar Tinto over the edge is the hospitality and kindness of all the staff. Great for date night, for a night out with friends, a spot to bring the parents too, literally any occasion. We look forward to sitting in tinto and enjoying the food and wine at least twice a week!! Gracias, Bar Tinto! 10/10
