Been wanting to come here for quite a while and it did not disappoint. Only wish we came sooner. Decided to sit in for the Caesar salad and take home the pizza for later. Chewy was our pleasant waiter, very friendly and attentive. Fresh cold water when we sat down and a nice short easy menu to peruse and decide from. No frills, no uneasy decisions. Simple greatness is all that's needed. I'm guessing every table gets the Caesar salad, which was a botttomless pile of fresh lettuce, tons of delicately grated smoothe Parmesan cheese, delicate crumbles of breadcrumbs, with an absolutely decadent Caesar dressing - pleasantly spread throughout the whole entire plate of goodness. Next time I will try the fresh loaf of bread sliced thick with a bowl of cherry tomatoes. Whoa that looked great. Every plate that walked by us whispered 'try me' next time!! Saved the salami Calabrese pizza for home directions on the box which provided the most perfect texture for a reheated pizza we've ever had. Delightful! The pizza. The crust. I can't even believe a whole table while we were eating there skipped the crust of the whole pie. You can't! That's a sin! Greatest sourdough pizza, dare I say delicate but hearty? Yummy pizza from what I can remember, when we've dined here in the past but do not call and try to order take out! Just called to order 1 pizza and they quoted 1.5-2 hours but couldn't give me an exact time for when I could pick it up. I asked the girl, how am I guaranteed a hot pizza and she said they'd text us when the order is ready but they prioritize dine in first. Horrible business model and customer service. I am extremely disappointed. Why did we have to wait 3 hours to get seated and then another full hour to receive our food? Listen, I understand that it was busy & kitchen staff can only do so much, but that still doesn't take away that the server was very snappy and having to wait so much time. They also gave us inaccurate sitting times, "it'll be an hour wait" it'll be an extra 20 and so on and so on, making it 3 hours !? I asked questions about the menu and she just cut me off and said "nothing is customizable". We also tried to order more food and shes like "everything is family sized, so you don't need more" What they're really trying to do, is get you to eat in 5 minutes and get you out! Girl, we waited 3-4 HOURS to eat and you wanna rush us out??? Like absolutely WHAT. The wings were my favorite part of everything. They were so tasty and you do get a good amount. We came in today for pizza, and the pizza was very good. The blisters on the crust were a little overdone and slightly black in spots, but overall it tasted great. The real disappointment, however, was the Caesar salad. We have always raved about Truly Pizza's Caesar, but sadly, that salad no longer exists. Our server admitted there had been a lot of changes to it, and it definitely showed. The dressing was completely different, the cheese had changed, and instead of the crisp, flavorful Caesar we remembered, we were served what was essentially baby lettuce with a dressing that didn't taste like Caesar at all and a sprinkle of crouton crumbs on top. None of us ate more than a few bites of it. At $21 for a salad without any protein, it was incredibly disappointing. We mentioned it to our server, who apologized. We also told the busser, who apologized as well. When I paid, I shared the feedback with the person at the front desk, and she said she would let the chef know. What surprised me most was that no one offered to remove the salad from the bill, despite it being obvious that we didn't eat it and clearly disliked it. The pizza was excellent, but the Caesar salad we loved is gone. Unfortunately, so was the hospitality and situational awareness to stand behind the food and make things right. Dropped by while we were in the neighborhood. 45 minute wait for a party of 2 at around 6:30 on a Wednesday evening. The crust/dough here is solid. Lots of flavor and crisp textures. I only wish they would place a rack between the pizza and platter so it doesn't sog out. Sausage and Market pizzas were our choices tonight. Loved the house made fennel sausage with aged mozz and basil. The Market is seasonal with fresh corn, Jimmy Nardellos and their bianco base. Lots of fresh/sweet pops of corn in each bite. Shout out to the fries that are also on the menu. Fried perfect and seasoned just right. Hints of garlic and herbs with a fun mustard aioli and ketchup on the side. I would recommend making a reservation in advanced as this place does get super packed, even on a weekday. Their oven does hold about 8 pizzas, so there will be an estimated wait time given to you by the waiter/waitress. Our wait time was about 30-40 minutes. If I could give this place zero stars, I absolutely would. We had an 8:30 p.m. reservation for three people, but only two of us ended up coming. For some reason, that became an issue because they weren't sure where to seat us in case our third person showed up later--even though we repeatedly told them not to worry about it. As soon as we sat down, our waiter told us the kitchen would be closing soon and asked if we had any questions because we needed to order quickly. He even told us we had two minutes left to place our order. Since we knew the kitchen was closing, I ordered a pizza to go at the same time as the rest of our meal so it would be ready when we finished eating. We ordered the bread and labneh, wings, and three pizzas. The bread and labneh was the only thing we genuinely enjoyed. The wings had such a bad smell that we boxed them up immediately without eating them. The pizzas were disappointing as well--burnt, with toppings that didn't taste fresh. To make matters worse, our two dine-in pizzas came out at different times. After we finished eating, paid our bill, and packed our leftovers, we waited for the to-go pizza that had been ordered when we first sat down. We were repeatedly told, "Just three more minutes." Then someone else explained there was a "cooling process" for the pizza and that's why there was a delay. At that point, we had already finished our meal, paid, and were simply sitting around waiting for an order that should have been ready. I asked to speak with a manager. A staff member walked over to who I assumed was the manager, and from where I was standing I could clearly see them talking about my daughter and me through the window. Eventually, a very kind employee came over, apologized, and politely explained the pizza process again but it didn't change the fact that we were still waiting. At this point I left informed enough about process that I can just go back to the kitchen and prepare my pizza. She also told us the manager was busy on the phone handling another situation. Based on how the evening had gone, I wasn't surprised. When the manager finally came over, we explained everything. His response was simply that it's normal for a pizza to take 30 minutes or more. I reminded him that I had intentionally ordered it when we placed our dinner order because we had been told the kitchen was closing in two minutes. I even had text messages to my son showing I had asked him what he wanted before placing the order. He then insisted the kitchen closed at 9:30, despite the fact that we had watched the kitchen being cleaned and shut down around 9:00. He showed absolutely no concern, offered no apology, and seemed genuinely confused about why I was upset after waiting 30-40 minutes for a pizza that should have been prepared while we were eating. I told him I wasn't going to argue with someone who couldn't see the problem. I let him know I'd be sharing my experience online and asked for his name. He proudly replied, "Logan," and seemed to welcome the review. Restaurants earn repeat customers through great food, great service, or ideally both. Unfortunately, this place delivered neither. Aside from the bread and labneh, the food was poor, the customer service was even worse, and the manager's complete lack of accountability was the final disappointment. I will never return, and I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. I also added photos to depicting the burnt crust hence the cooling process from the torching of the pizza and the basil that looked fried as well Mind you this is not our first time eating pizza out but definitely the last time at Folks!! As far as Logan and his handling of the situation he needs to go back to being a server, or take some hospitality training or fired!! I also want to note the smell of the chicken , I noticed other customers mentioned weird smell of the food. I think the food and health organization should be informed about their kitchen Hopefully this review will save people from going to this restaurant that really doesn't care or believe in customer service! I can't imagine this place lasting much longer. It's definitely a one time and never again experience!! Also please note this was not about wanting anything back I had already paid and packed. Huge fan of this place. We tried the fennel sausage pizza, mushroom pizza, and the free range chicken wings. They use sourdough for the pizza and that immediate caught my attention for the uniqueness. That, and the fact there's a line outside almost every day. The pizzas are also large at 14 inches and are cut at six pieces each. The wings had an immediate strong smell from the Italian fish sauce but they were amazing. We ended up devouring everything. The place itself is rather small but there's plenty of seating, especially outside. The server was also very kind and attentive and helpful with any questions we had. Highly recommend getting a reservation in advance or else you'll be waiting for a while. When we arrived in time for our reservation, we got sat almost immediately. Worth a try! The pizza crust here is AMAZING. Light, airy, crispy, and maintains structure to hold up the delicious toppings. All the ingredients tasted super fresh! Started off with the meatballs. You MUST order the meatballs. Sauce is perfectly seasoned, and the bread that accompanies this dish is perfect. Can't go wrong with beef tallow fried fries and Caesar salad either! Also ordered their wings. I was intrigued by the "Italian fish sauce" that was listed as an ingredient. The wings are definitely a flavor bomb, but I wouldn't order them again. Personally, a bit too salty. Finished off with the "burnt" cheesecake. (They really love burning things here.). It was just okay. I'd pass on that. Their pizza offering have a selection of white and red sauce options. when served hot, crust was good and flavor is as expected. Their bread and butter is exceptional! If you are going to get anything here, make this a priority. Caesar salad is also a great choice. The staff was attentive to our needs since we sat outside when the sun was setting. Had to hold the menu up to block the glare until the round thing settled. But to truly highlight the pizza, it was a bit on the greasy side and taste didn't yield anything of exceptional in terms of flavor or texture. Regardless, do not let my review deter you from trying this establishment as preferences with food varies. I just happen to be exposed to various types and styles of pizza. There was a lot of hype from friends about Folks, and I'm happy to announce that I was not disappointed. The do a family style and everything is big enough to share. Everything we ate was fantastic and I especially loved their version of a Caesar salad! Our server was absolutely wonderful too. A bit too overrated. I really was looking forward to this place after hearing about all the hype that went into this place based off social media posts that I've seen. We reserved for an 8:30pm knowing that it was going to be packed and surely enough, it was boomin with patrons. When we showed up, we were a bit early by about 20 minutes but I wanted to see what the wait time is for ordering to go instead since we didn't mind, soon finding out that the wait was roughly over an hour wait. Unsurprisingly, we decided to wait until we got the text for our table. However, despite the 8:30pm reservation, we ended waiting an almost additional 30 minutes anyways which was a bit upsetting, finally getting seated around 9:00pm. We were getting to the point where we wanted to leave not only because of how long we had to wait, but also recalling a disclaimer on their website noting how reservations are not guaranteed. We decided to still stay and eventually we got seated and decided to opt for the class margherita pizza and it was pretty shocking how expensive it was for a 13" neapolitan pizza ($30ish excluding tax and tip). After waiting about 30 minutes for our pizza, I was having such high expectations for what we were about to eat considering how long we had to wait and how popular this place is. Nevertheless, the service was fine and our waiter was friendly. When our pizza arrived, I was pretty baffled by the presentation of the pizza, immediately noticing how unaesthetic and burnt our pizza was as is seen in my photo. Never had I ever needed to take apart many of the slices to avoid the burnt parts. Even after trying it, the only thing that was noteworthy was the sourdough crust, which is unlike any other neapolitan I have had. The cheese and sauce were okay. Folks is synonymous with made to order pizza with the freshest ingredients. You know it once you take your first bite that the quality level here is well... on a different level. I added Italian sausage to their margarita pizza and even the meat was fresh and unprocessed. The slats of mozzarella and addition of basil leaves is done just like in the homeland. Tomato sauce is super fresh and the pizza dough is simply to die for. I also ordered their Caesar salad - I wouldn't order again because I thought the dressing was way too tart. Either balance it with croutons or dial it down a bit. Nice touch, however, with the whole romaine leaves. Service is pretty unimpressive, and the wait can be long - but there's a reason for that. So so disappointed by this place. We were served pizza with a chemical, dish water taste. It was very noticeable in the dough and whole pizza, which tasted very chemically and much like the dirty, unfiltered type of water that you would get from a moldy sink at a sketchy place. It stunk too. We were theorizing that the dough was made with dirty water, but there was also a possibility the serving pan given to us was used unwashed. Honestly wish we were able to send it back, but there was no time for a remake as it took about 30-40 mins for it to come out in the first place. The Caesar is also very, very depressing. The dressing is missing authenticity and tastes so bland and like pure lemon, the croutons are crushed up crumbs, and it was very hard to get through for $20. We left it behind as a group of 4 with full plates. I literally got fast food fries after this to fill the disappointment and void, and I'm a health conscious eater. The only saving grace was the meatballs. They were very good, and sadly the first plate that came out as everything went downhill. Should've known as this was the only dish that stood out to us when we ate here a few years ago. We decided to give it another proper try but it does not live up to the hype at all. If you want high quality pizza with a variety of ingredients and Caesar salad, go down to X Eats inside Brewery X. Half the price of the Caesar here, and so much better. Theirs comes with proper dressing, fried capers, freshly grated pecorino, and delicious sourdough croutons made in house. Okay this place has some of the best pizza in Orange County. It also has some of the worst parking. So take that with a grain of salt. This is a very small and intimate restaurant located near the backside of The Camp. Parking can be VERY difficult. You can spend a very long time circling around until you find a spot. They do have a very small valet lot if you don't want to circle around. Now I did not have a reservation and I was able to do a walk in on a Saturday night. Once we got our name on the list it took about an hour to get a table. The good thing is there is a brewery nearby. So put your name in and walk over to grab a drink. Now the food is absolutely amazing. The service is also amazing. The best thing about this place is everything is family style. So when you see the prices, remember that one item can feed 2-3 people. We ate here for the first time and I was really excited for the sourdough crust. It was dry and we asked for ranch. Salad was unique but not my idea of a Cesar salad. It's pretty but had a lot of seasoning that's not needed. Wings were flavorful and both sweet and spicy. Ordered the mushroom pizza which had a lot of mushroom and flavor. The crust was just dry. To top it off a homeless guy sat right by us on a ledge near the hammock. He kept falling asleep and slouched over. It made my son very uncomfortable. Staff just walked by like it was no big deal. No security. I get we have to live with homeless people. I would have given him my pizza if he was not staring at me while I'm eating. I spent $94 and won't be back. read more

I love love love Folks! I think they have the BEST Caesar salad I've ever had. It's light yet creamy and tangy and loaded with cheese. They definitely make sure there's enough dressing on it which I appreciate! Service is always great here. I love the cozy vibe that they have and that it's at the Camp. The level of service has dramatically improved since the last time I went. Logan was very friendly, and he added to the experience. The food is still as high quality as normal. Their bread and butter doesn't have labneh anymore which is disappointing, but everything else was amazing. Their fries and salad are a must get. read more

Folks Pizzeria has been on my bookmarks for a while now, so I was really excited to try it today. They are located in The CAMP in Costa Mesa, California, is an outdoor, eco-friendly shopping and dining center. We went at 12 when they open on a Saturday and there was no wait. We sat outside because we had two dogs with us. We ordered their: - beef tallow french fries $8 - caesar salad $20 - free range chicken wings $21 - meatballs $21 - Fennel Sausage Pizza $31 - Pancetta & Potato White Pizza $30 I can totally see why they got high reviews. The star is definitely their sourdough pizza crust...it's so good!! Airy yet crispy on the bottom. Have the party love the fennel sausage pizza and the other half of our party love the pancetta and potato pizza. And you definitely have to get the beef tallow french fries and their meatballs. We wanted to love the Caesar salad, but it was so salty that we had to send it back. The chicken wings were also pretty good. Our server Curtis, was really friendly and attentive. Folks Pizzeria is amazing! Reservations are highly recommended as this establishment is in one of the busiest Plazas in OC but the experience is well worth it. Parking can be a challenge but there's parking options across and street . I must say the Caesar salad is one of the best I've ever had! Each romaine was nicely brushed with dressing and all the flavors were fantastic! We ordered 3 different types of pizzas and all were delicious! With our large party, we sat outside and the overall ambiance was great! The weather was nice and service was impeccable! Definitely a must try! read more
