We do not have the best experience at this place. Granted, it's a chain restaurant, the service could be a lot better in the food can be more tasty. I've eaten here a handful of times, and all the experience has been mediocre, they could do a lot better. The last time I went, I ordered some soup and a cheeseburger with french fries. The suit came out, colder than lukewarm, and the fries were also cold. I told the manager, and then he tried to fix it, but it was similar results. I will say happy hour is the best time to go. We got seated, the booth was so small the table was pushing on everyone. The booth was so lumpy, bumpy. Super uncomfortable. We said never mind, and left. The place had a bad Oder to it, and there was a lot of unbused tables. read more

I'll be honest. I haven't been to an Applebees in over a decade. I think some of the social innuendos about Applebees just took over. Ha! BUT, stopped in last night and had a wonderful meal. Kimberly was an extremely attentive and proactive waitress. Anticipating needs at every turn. We had basics of a Rib Eye steak, and the Bourbon Street Chicken and Shrimp. Both were flavorful and strangely enough, so much better than the local steakhouse down the street charging twice as much! I have to say Applebees hit the spot. And to top it off they had some tasty desserts to boot. Donut Hole Dippers and a Brownie Bite with ice cream hit the spot. After a long day of work this was just what we needed. They are slow and unorganized, food prepared poorly and customer service is not that good. I really like to go to places with sports on tv. I noticed they had happy hour till close adds on the billboard, but I got 5 beers and they were $8. Not sure how that happened and not happy about it. I just wish there were places that didn't try and get over on you. Also the dip was barley above frozen. read more

This is a chain. Which means a lot. The food is consistent. As is the environment. If there is something on the menu that you like you are Set. I go here on my visits to the area (Humboldt County) with my dad. He loves !! the baby back ribs and I agree. There is no other place nearby that comes even close to the fall off the bone consistency of Applebees. The sides are Limited and always the same so if mashed potatoes work for you. This is also good. Getting a double portion makes a great and more cost effective moment for taking leftovers home for another meal or two or three. The burgers have been standard. A couple of other items are known solid choices but the ribs are our fave. Note that this place can get full. ESP if sports are you n in the bar. There are no dividing walls or outside seating so no option for social distance. read more

This place is an embarrassment to the community for food. The fact that you can get 2 stars from Humboldt dining experts says a lot. How it stays open is beyond me. We drove all day from Sacramento and stopped in for dinner with the kids. We were seated at a high top table in the bar area. We were given menus and then no one else ever came. Two other tables were seated, including the one next to us, and had their orders take while we still just sat there without even being offered drinks. The bartender looked at me several times, including when she took the order of the table next to us, but she continued to ignore us. After 30 minutes we left with hungry kids and went to the Mexican place down the street. This is the second time I had a bad experience at this location so I won't waste my time again. read more

1st off they seated us at a dirty table It was sticky and had a long hair in the middle as well as crumbs and crusted sauce along the side of the table. 2nd we didn't get straws for our drinks that wasn't a big deal we got some after a few minutes. 3rd the appetizer we order was not bad but was probably the best part of our meal. 4th My entree supposedly came with mashed potatoes which I did not receive. We stopped at this Applebee's location for lunch on our way north bound on Hwy 101. The French Onion soup I started with was very good with a rich flavor. The restaurant wasn't quite full, but the food did take some time to arrive. My better half 's Fish and Cole slaw was done beautifully, with the fish fried golden brown and tender and moist. Compared to my sirloin steak which was rather chewy with gristle. The starch on the plate which was potato tots on a bed of mash potato didn't quite work well together. Service was minimal. Our server passed our table a few times without stopping to check to see if things were alright. At the end of our meal, with the credit card transaction, a 20% gratuity was suggested after the total amount which we did not quite agree with the service we received.The total bill comes up on the trivia game machine on the table. You swipe your credit card into this machine and a 20% tip is calculated for you. If this is the business practice with Applebee restaurants in place, in a way it helps encourage a slack in service practice from their employees without providing their best to customers and just take things for granted! Alethea was a racist bigot. She was extremely rude to us. She saw that a gay mixed race couple came in, mind you not disrespecting anyone at all. Nor being inappropriate in anyway. Was rushing us did not check on us at all. We kept saying thank you to her for our drinks and food and she kept being rude. Didn't ask us if we needed anything else. At the end I said very kindly I didn't like the salad but I would pay for it. She was so rude and said "well what do you want me to do about it" I said nothing I will pay for the food I ordered. She as we were leaving said a nasty comment as I walked out. Be aware of where your at this area is not for you. Not everyone in the town is a bigot but this person is. read more

We are just in town for the weekend and were looking for something cheap and good after a long day of travel. Kim was our server and she was great! Very kind and attentive to our many modifications with no mistakes. The food came out hot and was super yummy. It was also really quick for 7:00 p.m. on a Friday night. We got impossible burgers, a salad, a side of mashed potatoes, mozzarella sticks, and cinnamon rolls and it was pretty affordable considering how high inflation has raised prices at other restaurants. People, it's Applebees! It's a chain! The food is good, it may need a little added salt and pepper, it's on the table. The servers and hostess were kind and did their job. This location is seeing its age a bit, the restroom could use a little remodeling first. But all the hate here is just sad to me. Don't expect a Ruth's Chris inside of an Applebees. I love Applebees, but I think their service is slow. There have been times I have ordered appetizers with my meal and the appetizers do not come on time, I just get my entrees and cancel my appetizers. I would just recommend ordering your food to go or not order appetizers with your meal. read more

Maybe because of my accent or physical appearance it took 30 mins to cook burger quesadilla and salmon fillet. And I saw other customers who came after us, but received their food faster. Food was good. read more

We usually enjoy the chicken alfredo here but today it was super dry. We ordered two dishes of chicken alfredo and they were both super dry as if it was only pasta with no seasoning, so disgusting. The shrimp wuton and shrimp fajita were both good. Luckily they gave us extra sauce for the pasta after asking. read more

Ordered the curbside to go, and apparently they forgot all four cheeses in the "four cheese macaroni" - it's basically butter noodles under the chicken strips. AND since it's curbside, it's really inconvenient to go back and complain. Kind of like it was inconvenient to wait and then be told that they didn't see me, when I'd been there for over 10 minutes and only pulled away once (and not even far) to let someone into the handicap spot next to me. It's Applebee's, so what should I be expecting besides dry, sat under a heat lamp for too long food. Also over priced, watered down with half the amount of alcohol in it that should be drinks. I hate the high tables, they have no hooks underneath them, so if you're a normal woman who carries a purse you have to sit it up on the table, which can be difficult and take up a lot of room if there's more than one of you. It makes it worse that the tables are always sticky. read more

My husband and I have eaten at Mini Applebee's and the food has been exceptional. The food at Applebee's in Eureka leaves much to be desired. My husband ordered the ribs they were dry and cold as well as the fries. I ordered a Caesar salad it was nothing more than lettuce, croutons and an overcooked grilled chicken and dressing. I was primed for a good meal. It was my birthday and I was coming off a difficult night shift at the hospital. So I come in, order a steak medium rare, their loaded potatoes and cole slaw and iced tea. Yum or in this case yeech. This meal was an unmitigated disaster. The steak was a gray cube of flesh, totally devoid of taste. The meat was obviously boiled then seared to make it appear as grilled. The effect was ghastly, devoid of taste and chewy. There was no red, the hemoglobin was boiled out of it along with any semblance of taste. The so called loaded mashed potatoes were cold and were composed of cold potatoes, there was a dollop of sour cream and a crumble of bacon. Yet even this had no taste. The cole slaw had a hint of taste yet there was all of a tablespoon, a freakin tablespoon!!! I couldn't imagine it could have been worse then I sipped the so called Ice tea. It was BROWN WATER no taste!!! Applebee's failed me so completely, I paid my bill and the server asked if I wanted to take this vile not even half eaten conglomeration with me! I said not in this lifetime or the next and walked away. PLEASE, DO NOT REPEAT MY MISTAKE do not eat at Applebee's in Eureka. I know I will never eat there again. read more

Terrible service ever!!! We waited to get our food for 45 minutes and my 2 year-old daughter couldn't get anything. All finished their meal and she got nothing for 1 hour. How could I eat my meal ??? She has patiently waited for her meal more than me. She didn't get grumpy and cry.. Our server never came back to our table after taking our orders. I asked several times when she could get hers but he just said " they are coming right now" and never came. And also the sirloin steak was over cooked even I asked medium. My soup came cold like the cheese wasn't melted, it was still in slices. So we asked for another one. It was still cold and clearly was just microwaved. Of all the Applebee's I've been to this one is by far the best. It's not just because it's my hometown one either. The staff has always been awesome and attentive. It's a great place for people to start work. It has been an invaluable resource for kids to get a first job and learn how to enter the workforce. Management is attentive and caring. The restaurant is always clean and seeks safe. They work hard to support local non profits and promote our schools. Please check this place out and support them if you are coming through town.
