Two Trips...same weekend two waiters. The service the second time was marginally better. However her attitude is why she ended up with a small tip. So again...The food was great so I may return...but service was terrible. They are lucky I left a tip at all. I am not sure if I will return. Food quality/flavor and value 3 stars. Coffee: 5 stars the coffee is excellent! If you like coffee give them a try. It's a medium/mild roast I'd say on the sweeter side. Drinks: 3 star. Trip 1) way over pored...I got the eggnog with whiskey...I had to ask for a small side of eggnog to add eggnog flavor. The eggnog is actually very good... Unfortunately they drowned out the flavor with way too much whiskey. Trip 2) I tried the bloody Mary while my wife had the Mamosa. These were poured perfectly. Service: 1 star. My coffee cup spent way to much time empty.... for the 1.5 hours I was here it spent about 1/2 the time empty. The fact they forgot to put in the pancakes and missed items. This is the kind of service that is exactly why im agains a $15 minimum wage. You want $15 for an hour do a great job serving me and I promise you'll walk out with a 20% tip. Party of 12! Had a wonderful experience this morning with some extended family in town. Mike, the manager, is running a tight ship with this new breakfast location in the old IHOP location on Richmond Rd. The restaurant has been on the wait since the first day they opened. Very popular. We showed up with 12 people and Mike did his best to accommodate our needs. We needed at least half chairs and we wanted to sit together. He and his staff set us up at a half booth/half table that fit all of us. Monica (sp) was our waitress and she did an excellent job. We had three kids in our party that were indecisive, to say the least. Monica was patient and anticipated their needs. She made sure they had cups with lids and brought out the yogurt that comes with the kids meals first so they could get started while we waited for our food. Monica also took care of the adults. It's obvious she's been a server for a while because she knew what we needed before asking. Coffee refills, extra creamers, napkins, etc . . . She cleared the table as each of us finished so we could chat without the clutter. She never got frustrated with us as she continued to get seated with new parties (did I mention they are constantly busy?). Service makes the experience for us and Monica came through. The food was great as well. It's a chain that we have visited before in Charlotte, NC, so we knew what to expect food wise. If you're an eggs Benedict person, swing on by. Pancakes and waffles, kids menu, even diet friendly choices. There's something for you here. All in all, we had a wonderful experience and our out of town family was impressed. I decided to go here on their 2nd open day. This is always the worst time to visit a new place, but I was anxious to see since I heard it is going to be their training and management flagship place. I have to say I was amazed! Williamsburg needed this kind of place and they delivered! The converted a bad old IHOP into a wonderful, organized, quiet place for breakfast and lunch that is not another pancake house...but they do serve great pancakes. I have now been there 3 times, and each time did not disappoint, but the wait to get seated has gotten longer so that must mean...SUCCESS! There is too much on the menu to list, but my favorite treat is the Beignets! Amazing crunch on the outside, soft inside and covered in powdered sugar a wonderful way to start the day with their great coffee in amazing mugs. They also serve bloody mary's and cocktails, but since I have not tried them yet, I will review that next with a lunch review. As I said, I have been 3 times, all for breakfast. Pancakes once, eggs once, and a waffle once. All were outstanding and you have to try their homemade sausage patties and their chicken apple sausage links. Bacon is thick and easy too! Try this place. It is different from most every other breakfast place so you can easily fit them into your favorite rotation of all the great Williamsburg eateries!! A rainy Thursday and we were visiting Busch Gardens for The Halloween event. We noticed a new restaurant and decided to try it for breakfast. We were greeted and seated right away. Our waitress was lovely and we chatted about the restaurant. This is the first Broken Egg in VA. They are more prevalent in the south. She brought us some complimentary biscuit beignets to try since we were not from the area. The orange marmalade was a perfect compliment to them. I had the Eggs Blackstone Benedict. Grilled red tomato slices on an English muffin, topped with poached eggs, hollandaise, chopped bacon and green onions. Served fresh country potatoes. The hollandaise was not lemony, more velvety and they had bacon crumbles to enhance the saltiness. The Monterey Power Omelette was our other choice to round out our choices to be more healthy. This is a great breakfast restaurant, especially considering how many pancake houses there are in Williamsburg. read more

Visited another broken Egg Cafe again for my family. I asked for their opinions on a few criteria to gauge the overall restaurant. Wait time/service: 3.5/5 stars We were told about a 15 minute wait, it was about 20 (not bad at all) Pros: Staff was extremely nice and professional. They took our order and checked on us multiple time throughout our dinning experience. Cons: It took a second to be seen at the table. Check wasn't split up correctly Variety on the menu: 5/5 The menu is always changing and has a great variety as you can see from the pictures. I'm impressed with how revolutionary their ideas for breakfast dishes have been. Food quality: 4.5/5 Pro: The food was delicious! The top dish we tried was the Rum cake pancakes, followed by the carrot cake pancakes. It's hard to go wrong with the other options too. Cons: One of the sauces were a little to off for our tastes but I wouldn't let that dissuade you. Overall! The restaurant is great like the previous visits. I'd give them 4.5/5 stars. We've tried this place half a dozen times since it opened. When full and busy (during the summer) the food and service were fine. But as the fall hit and business cooled, the attention to detail faded. Capable servers have been replaced with new, untrained staff. Today, for the second time in a row, I was served spoiled food. Last time it was a table-top item, and I told the waitress and she apologized and said she'd fix it. Today, after I poured sour fermented salsa over my food, we spoke to the manage--not the usual glour male curmudgeon, but a similarly unhappy looking older woman. Her whole response-- "Huh". She seemed very unconcerned, then said " Well, I'll take care of the bill." Considering I hadn't eaten any food--now covered in spoiled salsa--that seemed like a good starting place. We came here for brunch after spending some time in the area. I ended up joining their waitlist to ensure we got a table even though we were around 10-15 minutes away. Upon arriving, the hostess stated they didn't follow the online waitlist or have access to it but there wasn't a wait so we could be seated immediately. Upon being seated, we were quickly greeted to get our orders taken and drinks ordered. I ordered the apple pie mimosa and husband ordered the tequila sunrise. He enjoyed his drink and I really enjoyed my mimosa. Our waitress brought out the beignet's for us to try and they were delicious! Warm and fluffy. My husband enjoyed the jam they came with. Once his omelette came out, he liked it but said the queso sauce that came on it overpowered the omelette. I thought my shrimp benny was good but it was very light on the shrimp and flavor. Definitely our new favorite breakfast spot in Wiiiamsburg! It's was right next to our hotel so we decided to try it out and walk over. The restaurant had a modern look and very clean! All the staff was super nice and friendly. We ordered several different omelettes...supreme, bacquezo and the lobster brie and my youngest ordered the smoked salmon benedict. My hubby orders the supreme without mushrooms but came with... he ate it anyways and didn't complain lol. Our oldest had the bacquezo...bacon with chorizo, jack cheese and green onion. It didn't look like the picture but still tasted great! My lobster and brie omelette was fantastic! Wish there were a bit more brie but regardless the flavor was on point. Even my kid kept asking for extra bites lol. My youngest loved his smoked salmon benedict, wish I can poach an egg so perfect as the ones on his plate! We had planned a family brunch and were headed to a different restaurant. We weren't from the area so we saw that the planned venue was too small for our group,. There was another restaurant not far, Another Broken Egg and we decided to give it a try. Our party of 7 was seated immediately. They had a good variety of food and nice drink options. I had the lobster and brie omelet and it was amazing. Their bloody Mary's aren't bad either. I would definitely go back. He brought my son a juice box when he brought over the menus - how thoughtful. I ate the lemon blueberry goat cheese pancakes - amazing! I went to this place because I had a wonderful experience at the Elkridge, MD location. Unfortunately, the Williamsburg location missed the mark. The parking and restaurant itself were not as clean as I expected and our food came with a hair in it! We noticed it as the food was being placed on the table and brought it to the attention of the server before she even left the table. It took way too long for us to get a replacement plate. My Grubbing Buddy and I headed up to Williamsburg, Virginia, this past Saturday to have brunch with some friends. Williamsburg is a big tourist city and is known for its countless breakfast and pancake houses, many of which are fantastic. This weekend, we drove 30 minutes to check out Another Broken Egg. Even though the place was crowded, it took only about 10 minutes to be seated. Once seated is where the excitement ended. Our waitress was truly pleasant and accommodating, though she was only 16 years old and in high school. She took our orders and returned with our drinks in record time. Our food, however, wasn't delivered until almost an hour later. My Grubbing Buddies' meals looked delicious, but mine looked like a mess. (How do you get that much gravy under the plate?) One of my Grubbing Buddies politely asked that his plate be microwaved because the food was cold. Overall, the food tasted good but the experience (my first at this restaurant) was only satisfactory. It was only about 25% full when we went there so they weren't busy. Still, it took us 25 minutes to receive _some_ of our food and another 10 minutes to receive the rest of it. Naturally most of it was cold by the time we got it. We sent it back because it was cold and the replacements we received were just as cold as the originals. We also had to ask for half of the food we ordered because it was never brought out. Horrible service - Horrible food. There are a lot of other good breakfast/lunch places in Williamsburg.
