Very good coffee, I got regular latte w strawberry foam top. Delicious They have nice pastry selection and macaroons and really delicious cheesecake. Cute wood table I have looking seating area. Outdoor tables too! Couple water bowls out there for dogs as you walk the beautiful William Mary campus

Such a cute environment. It's a bustling local coffee shop and tons of seating. When I entered, there was a huge line, but once I ordered and got my drink, it was quick. I got a Vanilla Chai Latte and I kid you not, this was probably the best chai latte I've ever had. It tasted like I was drinking a cookie, but in the best way possible. Not overbearingly sweet, but the right balance. The only downside is the long line, but in my opinion, it's worth the wait. Would recommend!

Located in the village, not far from my hotel stay at the Lodge, the latter and avocado toast were enjoyable. Coffee more so than the toast Prices are reasonable and half of the hotel charges. I found street parking and joined the crowd inside, a blend of locals and tourists. My iced latte with honey was remade since the first time, the honey had not been dissolved in hot water or the espresso resulting in a goopy presentation. Small place so don't be in a hurry, settle in and enjoy the local charm. The egg on my toast was slightly runny and the avocado was a thin spread on the sourdough. Meh Surprised that the food was packaged in a stryofoam container since Virginia has an upcoming ban.

Wandered in saw the line and almost left. I'm so glad my hubs said let's just wait! Coffee was amazing, just a cold brew but deep robust and smooth - all this coffee snobs musts! Hubs got the coffee of the day apple cinnamon strudel - it was delish without that chemical undertone many flavored coffees have. And lunch? The Cobb salad with house cider vinaigrette was my favorite lunch this trip! Chaotic and crowded and worth it! Even the other customers were a delight! Friendly and kind, we will be back for sure!

Aromas Cafe is a true gem in downtown Colonial Williamsburg. It's a consistently bustling spot, so guests should expect a wait of about 15 to 30 minutes for their food after placing an order. The line to order can wrap around the coffeehouse, but it moves surprisingly quickly, giving you a chance to decide whether you'd like to find a cozy spot indoors or a seat outside. The cafe has a wonderfully decorated, cozy interior with great music playing. Once at the counter, I ordered the Aromas BLT with a fried egg, and it was generously sized and delicious. Having a fried egg made it feel much heartier than a typical breakfast sandwich from other places. Additionally their Portobello mushroom burger with basil pesto & balsamic vinaigrette is also fantastic. Their coffee selection is very hot and features a wide variety of flavors, boldness, intensity, and richness. I really like the Magnus coffee for its richness and boldness and also Jamaican Me Crazy coffee too. Throughout the visit, the staff was friendly and clearly working hard to get orders out as quickly as possible. Given its proximity to William & Mary and its hearty menu of breakfast and lunch items, it's no surprise that Aromas is busy all day. They even have a small selection of wine and other drinks for a quick pick-me-up. Overall, it's an excellent place to stop in, take a break, and enjoy some great food and a lively atmosphere.

For a coffee shop this would be a 4 but the food is terrible. The Grilled Turkey melt was so drenched in oil/butter/margarine was . The club tasted like a sandwich you'd get at a gas station. The coffee was decent. I would say if you're just coming for coffee you will be fine but avoid the food as there are FAR better options around.

This review is specifically for the dark chocolate almond biscotti. Outrageously delicious. Biscotti definitely not dry and crunchy but just the perfect consistency. I will definitely drive the distance from VA Beach to get 1 each of all their biscotti's!!!

Aromas is an excellent and consistent spot for breakfast and lunch items. We ate nearly everything off of the savory menu and some selections from the sweet menu, including a delightful Orange Pound Cake and French Toast - and all of it was exceptional. The service is friendly and efficient. The to-go packaging is well constructed and the food stays hot. This is a great local option.

Aroma is a warm and friendly café, with nice dark wood where historic drawings are displayed. You order at the counter and they call you when your food is ready. We found a turnaround time to be pretty quick considering how busy it was. Even though it was clearly busy it didn't feel busy or noisy. The portions for breakfast were very generous. I had the English muffin with ham, Swiss and eggs, and it was very tasty. My wife had the traditional breakfast platter with scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and fresh bread. The potatoes had a great flavor and not overcooked. We peered at dishes other customers were having, and the portions were just as generous and again everything looked fresh. My only gripe is that the food was a bit cold from the counter - I didn't notice if there heat lamps. It's all impressive because there can be long lines and yet they still manage to get the orders right. And surprisingly fast. We wished we lived in the area. But we are only an hour away and will definitely return.

In a town known for being full of breakfast joints, I keep finding myself coming back here. There is a great funky/ college/ historical vibe with fancy coffee, clever remixes of traditional breakfasts and fresh bakery items. It can get. A little crowded , but the wait is worth it.

Busy place but great breakfast. We got the avocado toast and a breakfast burrito. Will definitely try a pastry next time ! Perfect place to start your morning.

Tuna sandwich and coffee were entirely mediocre. I would go somewhere else if you care about the food.

    It's there wifi?

I believe there is WiFi. The one you in Newport News did before they closed.

Where is the best place to park?

There was a small parking lot at the bottom of the hill. I wish I had street names but I'm from out of town. Hope this helps!

Nothing wrong with this little grab-and-go carry out shop but at the same time, I wouldn't call it anything ahhhhmazzzzinggggg that would warrant more than just an average 3 star rating. Better than and more options than a hotel lobby self serve "mini mart." They serve self serve coffee (Members, don't forget to ask for your complimentary daily coffee tickets upon check-in!) but this place also has a barista for hot or iced lattes. Decent lattes, thankfully made with espresso shots not watered down or weak & wimpy. On par with what you would get at Starbucks. The latte menu is NOT extensive so don't expect a long latte/coffee drink menu like at Starbucks. I posted a pic of the latte/tea/juice/bfast sando menu with prices so have a look. Staff is SUPER NICE but both times I was there getting a hot latte, there was ONE WORKER each time running cash AND barista-ing. Not many more can fit behind that tiny ordering counter frankly. Thus - if you see any kind of long line, BE PREPARED TO WAIT. Or come back during non-rush hours. (Remember this is a conference center so it is highly likely conference attendees will be lining up to order before the start of the conference day and in between sessions throughout the day!) I read on their website that all their baked goods and pastries as well as sandwiches, salads etc are freshly house made there on prem so that's nice. Prices are not break the bank (for a hotel). My small hot vanilla latte was $7. Like I said - as a hotel lobby grab-and-go so you don't have to walk far or drive to get your latte-fix on, The Cupboard is right-there-convenient and will absolutely do just fine. If you DO feel like going off the property to go to an indie coffee shop, I drove to and tried the relatively new Grit Coffee in Midtown for the first time - pretty good (read my review and see my pics): Or go to the ever-famous Aromas in CW near the William&Mary campus, an OG legend which imo is overhyped but still a good option - parking can be a pain, frankly better to walk there from the hotel (it's prob a 20 min walk to Aromas but you walk straight down beautiful CW - on a nice day, can't beat that.).

There is parking right next to the building or a pay to park parking lot across the street. I will say it's brewed on the stronger side, so was a bit more bitter than I was hoping, but it was really refreshing. This is a wonderful spot to get some work done.
