My Mom and I always make it a point to stop by this place on our annual Williamsburg trip. We always get the same meals: chocolate chip pancakes and an egg plate with wheat toast and bacon. Genuinely is the best place to get breakfast in the town! There are a ton of options but you will not find a more friendlier, welcoming, and good place. This is by far the best pancake I ever had. They don't call Williamsburg the Pancake capital for no reason. Me and my girlfriend visited Williamsburg for the first time together. Let me start off by saying the service and ambiance were amazing. It was like a 90s retro dinner theme and we got our food hot in less than 10 minutes. We both ordered the Cinna-Swirl Pancake and when I sya it melts in your mouth i mean it. it also has a nice soft fluffy interior and a slightly crunchy crust outside. I never had a pancake like this, but it was wonderful. We also got the steak and cheese with fries. What better way to relax on a day off after Thanksgiving than head out for a breakfast meal. Sophia and I headed here which wasn't fully packed. Great for the both of us. Let's see how the visit turned out. The diner was half packed but staff were busy. The decor was pretty cool and the restaurant was clean. Not bad at all. After we got seated, we were ready to order within minutes. Both of us ordered the country fried steak meal with hash browns and eggs (mine was scrambled and Sophia's was fried hard) along with coffee. It was delicious and filling. The gravy was just the right amount and the amount of food was just enough. It could've used some seasoning, but luckily we had salt and pepper at our table to add. Truly a meal to start our Friday. Stopped in on a Saturday morning. It was busy, but we were seated promptly. The bacon was good. The omelette was good. The hash browns were good. Then there was the Eggs Benedict. Eggs were poached well, the hollandaise was "meh" and I had to saw my way through the toasted English Muffin with a steak knife. In the end, I pulled everything off the muffin and ate it alone. We really enjoyed our breakfast here this past weekend. They have a large menu with lots of good items. Several hashes, sandwiches, omelettes, pancakes and denedicts. My husband saw something on the lunch menu he wanted and the waitress said it was no problem, they'd make it. He was so appreciative. He got some sort of sandwich and he enjoyed it and took half for later. My mom ordered their standard benedict, I ordered the egg, cheese, sausage and hash burrito add fruit. My burrito was large and hot and tasty and my mom was thrilled that he poached eggs were "perfect" - she's very picky about that. We got cheesy eggs for my toddler and they were out in 2 minutes. A BIG deal anyone with a baby knows! Our waitress was so sweet and she was excellent. Always prompt with any request and kept our drinks and coffee refilled. Decor inside is adorable - it's like a country silver diner. Loved the decor and vibes. Food was solid, service was a 10, location was great and they have a huge parking lot and plenty of seating. We were looking for a great breakfast and glad we found this place! The wait was ok with us (about 20 minutes on a Sunday around 11 am). Our server was friendly and quick with coffee and the food came out within 5 minutes piping hot. I ordered the scrambled skillet and my daughter ordered the waffle breakfast. We determined that the bacon must be at least partially candied since it was so delicately sweet with a hint of warm spice. We did order a side of biscuit and gravy, and while my daughter really liked it, I finally determined that they use sage sausage which I'm not a fan of. However, I made the call to go with a cheese omelet + cheese + jalapeños + chicken Links + shredded hashbrowns...yeah baby, SHREDDED hashbrowns! I feel like hashbrowns made any other way just don't do justice. I digress! My son's kids meal was great too with eggs, pancakes and bacon. Overall, everything was fantastic, and the staff was wonderful. The only thing I would recommend is some upkeep needed of the restrooms and attention to cleaning detail. After a careful examination of the reviews and menus of the many pancake houses in Williamsburg, we chose this restaurant on Halloween morning. Bad decision. Not spooky but unmemorable. The place was busy, but they got us in immediately. Simple coffee shop atmosphere. Although the staff was friendly and efficient, and the food came out quickly, it was mediocre at best. They were out of avocado (even though it was 9am on a weekday) but were able to substitute spinach on the California Benedict. The English muffin was cold and it seemed like it hadn't been toasted at all. The hash-browns were dry and tasteless. The pumpkin pancakes sounded appropriate for the day. They were okay, had a nice cinnamon sugar topping and some mystery blob of sweetness, but nothing to write home about. The eggs were blah and had a funny lard taste. I'm not sure why this restaurant is rated so highly, but I am afraid I can't recommend it. read more
