Virginia has no shortage of pancake houses but this is definitely one of the best! We even ran into someone we met at the parks. Simple decor, very friendly (Greek owned) staff and delicious food with so many options. Our server, Essence was hilarious and made the meal even better. She brought a carafe of coffee to the table and they even had flavored creamers in addition to the regular. I love that they have a variety of jellies on the table and even honey if you ask for it. I had the banana nut (they use pecans) pancakes which were so fluffy and perfect. Hubby was in Heaven with his order. He got the 2+2+2 waffle with scrambled eggs (so light and fluffy) sausage links, and apple topping which was homemade (the apples had some crunch to them instead of being mushy and from a can). He was full but couldn't resist getting a southern biscuit with honey.
THE 1 hour wait was worth it. The food was great except the potatoes. The staff was excellent.
This place is top notch! Our waitress Essence was so nice and attentive. Food was delicious and came out super fast. My daughter had French toast with strawberries and couldn't even finish the whole thing, I tried a piece and it was very yummy. I had 2 chocolate pancakes, 2 eggs and 2 turkey sausages and it was delicious. They also have a gluten free menu, my son ordered gf waffle which was also very tasty. I wish I could try everything on their menu! The decor was very cute with roosters everywhere and when we went outside we saw some bees and butterflies!
We stopped here on our way home for breakfast. The food and service is great. It gets busy so the earlier you get there the better. They offer amazing local cold brew coffee. I had their eggs, pancakes and ham breakfast. their pancakes were really great. I enjoyed the ham and eggs as well.
Amazing atmosphere. The service was as expected, awesome. The food came out fast and was delish!
I considered the colonial Williamsburg pancake House to be a must stop every time we visit the area but after our visit this morning I don't think we will return. The staff is friendly but after our food came out we never saw the waitress again to get re-fills for the kids drinks. The manager brought us the check and when I inquired about a refill he informed me it would be an additional charge. After waiting for 30min for the check we didn't feel as if it was worth it and left. The food was ok but lacked seasoning and my son couldn't finish his pancakes because he was waiting for a refill on his drink. For the prices I would expect more, they did have a few larger tables that were taking away from the staffs ability to keep up. Plenty of other places in Williamsburg to try.
Great breakfast spot right in the heart of Williamsburg! The pancakes were delicious and the service was fantastic from start to finish. Super convenient location and close to all the main Williamsburg attractions, which made it an easy stop before heading out for the day. Only thing to keep in mind is they do add an additional Williamsburg restaurant tax on top of the regular tax, so the bill may be a little higher than expected. Overall though, definitely worth checking out for a great breakfast experience!
Out of town guests came to the burg and wanted to try one of the many pancake houses in Williamsburg. Took them to the Colonial Pancake House and enjoyed the experience. I ordered a mushroom and cheese omelette and a banana and nut pancake. The food came out quickly and perfectly cooked, especially the softly cooked omelette. Plenty of seats and parking in back. Will definitely return.
My little brother and I came here because we recently heard that Williamsburg was the pancake capital of the world, and this place was the highest rated. It's super quaint inside, and it was packed out for a Tuesday morning when we went. We had to wait about 30 minutes of a table. I got the "Two, Two, and Two" combo with sausage, scrambled eggs with cheese and the "Very Berry" pancakes with strawberries and blueberries. While the service was friendly and the food wasn't horrible, I think all the hype had me had me feeling like this breakfast was going to be better than it was. Titles like "Pancake Capital of the World" and all the amazing Yelp and Google reviews had my expectations too high. I would definitely come here again and try something else on their menu. Their efficiency and friendliness is enough to draw me back in.
There's nothing like waking up to delicious breakfast food. Our hotel breakfast was pretty weak so we came on a Sunday morning but were still seated relatively quickly. Their food is that classic breakfast food which really hit the spot. I got the 2 eggs with home fries and a biscuit and my fiance got the omelet. We also got one pancake each - he got the chocolate chip and I got the apple pie pancake. I absolutely loved that you can get just one pancake, so many places make you get 3 so we don't bother but this was a perfect way to try them out without needing to commit. The food was delicious and the pancake were just right. Our server was very friendly and this place has a nice homey vibe. This was a great way to finish up our Williamsburg trip.
This little breakfast dinner was a cute little spot for a breakfast date. The server was very nice, smiling and just looked like she loved being there. We love to see that QUEEN! I don't remember her name because I'm horrible but she had ice cream Fourth of July earrings. Which was also cute. Can't say that for the hostess sadly which had an opposite attitude and didn't address anyone but to seat you. The food was good, the breakfast was filling and the pancakes were sweet but not OVERLY sweet. Everything was cooked very well. My partner had the breakfast burrito and she just didn't like that the peppers were not cooked and the cheese was too much - like one bite had all cheese. But overall it was well liked. I'd 100% go back and try out other menu items for the vibe. Or have my yummy breakfast. The older gentleman who cashed us out was also very nice, seemed to be in charge, and helping out everyone else we observed from our table.
With a touch of Americana and a very, very friendly staff. It does seem to be in the middle of nowhere - but don't let that stop you. Worth the trip. It has its own charm (without the hokey stuff) with a nice, relaxing vibe. I had the simple Two, Two, and Two : pancakes eggs and bacon which was perfectly prepared. The Chocolate Chip pancakes were richly flavored. We both loved the fluffy and tasty pancakes. Perfect for families visiting the area.
Coffee is great, food was great, I had eggs, sunny side up sunny, not runny & shockingly they came out sunny, not runny, which doesn't happen often. Or in my case ever. I wish the bacon was a little crispier, but that's a personal issue. I also wish the home fries didn't have onions in them. That again is a personal issue. But I do wish they came out hotter. My daughter loved her half of a waffle The waitress Aleyna was GREAT.

Checking out places for breakfast & pancakes seems to be the official breakfast out here in Williamsburg. These guys seem to be popular they were close to our hotel so we decided to come check them out. Wait times was 10-15 minutes, not bad once seated we started with Coffee & Iced tea, not bad. On the food tried the Very berry & Apple pie pancakes , very berry were just wow so nice & fluffy these pancakes were delicious . Apple pie is a great twist very good as well, the added ice cream was just right & elevates the taste. Also had a side of Corned beef hash, it was not bad but a bit salty. Very busy location, nice & home like decor, our waitress was very nice & attentive. Prices are very reasonable, for sure I'd say some of the best pancakes I've ever had this was worth the visit. read more
With a Pancake Festival, Williamsburg makes the claim to have the most pancake houses within the smallest per capita in the country. There are many, but this one is among the closest to Colonial Williamsburg. It's a classic pancake house with a large parking lot, country decorations, bad coffee, and lots of pancakes. From the moment I sat in the booth, my server was excellent! Within minutes, I had a stack of two large chocolate chip pancakes with whipped cream at my table. It was good, but it's hard to mess up pancakes. read more
This place was hopping, but so was the service. Despite several waiting outside, we were all seated in under ten minutes. Cute country colonial rooster theme. Our server, Tess, was fantastic. My husband was craving a bagel breakfast sandwich (because he is enduring my keto diet) and they were one of the few places offering this. He got cream cheese on the side for the sandwich (if you haven't tried this, I highly recommend it). I ordered the meat omelette with Swiss cheese added and was offered fresh tomato slices in place of the carb options. We were both very full and happy with our meal. 2nd visit before leaving the area. We came earlier, closer to 8 & were seated immediately. I chose the meat omelette again (perfect choice for my keto diet). My husband tried the 2 French Toast, 2 eggs (added cheese) & 2 sausage. We were both very pleased. I felt so guilty not being able to finish it because it was really yummy. Our waitress today was also top notch. She didn't even write down our order, but it came out perfectly executed. read more

We had the egg and bacon breakfast with a side of pancakes, also apple pie pancakes and a carafe of fresh coffee. It was absolutely delicious! The service was amazing, everyone was so kind and even they said 35 min wait, we were seated in 20 which we really appreciated. Our order came out hot and quickly and couldn't be more pleased at how wonderful it was. We will be coming again to this lovely, homey and wonderful pancake house! read more

We did our comparisons using 2 different sites for reviews & drum roll please...the winner was Colonial! Parking is ample just past the building across the street. We arrived just after 8 am & were seated promptly. The host area is very small so you may want your large group to wait in the air conditioned car as I'm not sure whether they accept reservations. The menu offers so much more than just pancakes. The owner was friendly, helping where needed. Our server was nice & attentive but they have to move expeditiously to keep this fast paced restaurant moving. The coffee is wonderful. Our food came very fast. The blueberry pancakes are the best with lots of blueberries inside & out! Homemade taste not just a standard mix. The eggs were cooked perfectly. I ordered the Virginia ham & it has a lightly sweet taste. Hubby had the eggs "sunny side up" which could have been less lacy but they were good. The grits were darker than we've seen but were coarse ground and flavorful. They placed the coffee pot tableside for ease in refilling with hot coffee. Enjoyed our visit! read more

We came here for breakfast before Busch gardens and it was perfect. The service was friendly and quick, we were able to get a table immediately (around 8am on a Saturday), and the food was great! We ordered the biscuit and gravy, very berry pancakes, and the apple pie pancakes. The biscuits and gravy gave us the "made at your grandmas house" vibe, and it was everything my wife was craving. Our son had the apple pie pancakes with ice cream and he said they were very good, but he would share them next time because they were very sweet. I had the very berry pancakes and a bit of each of theirs--perfect combo! We will be back! read more

A year ago, Sophia and I drove to the 'Burg for breakfast at a long standing spot. The food was really good and we went back sometime in the Spring as well. So for the Thanksgiving weekend, we decided to make the drive here once again to see how things were. Upon walking inside, you can see the specials written on their board. Just like a year ago, country fried steak was the special. And that's we both ordered again. I had mine with home fries, scrambled eggs and buttered toast and Sophia had hers with home fries, fried hard eggs and buttered toast along with coffee and water. And like before, both of us enjoyed our meal. Our meals came out in a timely manner cooked very well. Like before, I added salt and pepper to the eggs for a bit more seasoning (each restaurant does their food differently), but the both of us were filled up nicely for the morning drive. Well, that was our experience. Great service from the staff, a good crowd on hand for a post-Thanksgiving meal and a great vibe all around. I don't think we could've asked for anything more. Till next time :) read more

What an incredible establishment! Food was splendid and the portion size was absolutely INSANE. The food that came out was exceptional quality to boot. Exactly what an old fashioned dining experience should be like. Wait staff was kind and efficient. Constantly checking up on us and refilling coffee as needed. Location was great with ample parking near a podunk hotel that was a little sketchy not gonna lie. Ambiance felt like you were thrown back a decade while also embracing its environment in historic Virginia. If you're staying in Williamsburg or visiting Busch Gardens/Water Country I could not recommend this place highly enough. read more

There are so many pancake places in the area it is kind of hard to choose. This is a nice homestyle feel restaurant. The waiter was very nice a polite. He checked on us numerous times in our 45 mins there. The pancakes are pancakes. Nothing too crazy. The apple pie pancakes are very sweet so be prepared. The pigs in a blanket were exactly what the name says. And the 2 cakes and bacon were "delicious" as my 9 yr old put it. But everything was cooked great and met expectations. The decor was a little old school but it works for the area. Parking is around back and you walk to the front. It's on a busy road so be careful. read more
