My Grubbing Buddy and I headed up to Williamsburg, Virginia, this past Saturday to have brunch with some friends. Williamsburg is a big tourist city and is known for its countless breakfast and pancake houses, many of which are fantastic. This weekend, we drove 30 minutes to check out Another Broken Egg. Even though the place was crowded, it took only about 10 minutes to be seated. Once seated is where the excitement ended. Our waitress was truly pleasant and accommodating, though she was only 16 years old and in high school. She took our orders and returned with our drinks in record time. Our food, however, wasn't delivered until almost an hour later. My Grubbing Buddies' meals looked delicious, but mine looked like a mess. (How do you get that much gravy under the plate?) One of my Grubbing Buddies politely asked that his plate be microwaved because the food was cold. Overall, the food tasted good but the experience (my first at this restaurant) was only satisfactory. It was only about 25% full when we went there so they weren't busy. Still, it took us 25 minutes to receive _some_ of our food and another 10 minutes to receive the rest of it. Naturally most of it was cold by the time we got it. We sent it back because it was cold and the replacements we received were just as cold as the originals. We also had to ask for half of the food we ordered because it was never brought out. Horrible service - Horrible food. There are a lot of other good breakfast/lunch places in Williamsburg. Don't waste your time and money on this place. read more

I went to this place because I had a wonderful experience at the Elkridge, MD location. Unfortunately, the Williamsburg location missed the mark. The parking and restaurant itself were not as clean as I expected and our food came with a hair in it! We noticed it as the food was being placed on the table and brought it to the attention of the server before she even left the table. It took way too long for us to get a replacement plate. We never heard from a manager and we were treated terribly after that. All we wanted was good food and a good atmosphere. Both were terribly lacking. read more

We had an amazing breakfast with amazing service. Our table tried the chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, and the hash brown Benedict. All dishes were flavorful and filling. If your looking for a dish to share the shrimp and grits is a generous serving size for two. We also tried the vanilla iced coffee and the bloody molly- both amazing additions. read more

Yay Yay Yay! We went for brunch and were not hungry the rest of the day! We ordered two savory and two sweet breakfasts and everyone shared. It was delicious and just perfection! Our waitress was super nice, we were seated 10 minutes after we arrived (we were told it would be 20 min) and our food came quickly. Absolutely amazing breakfast/brunch. As a former GM of a major competitor I cant begin to say how great our experience was. Our server. Elena, was attentive. There when we needed her, not when we didn't. Sounds easy but really isn't. The better half and I sampled several meals all of which were flavor filled, well presented, totally enjoyable. Ticket time ran a little long but certainly acceptable considering the time of day, and amount of business. If your a fan of upscale breakfast/brunch/lunch it's a "must try!!" The food came out COLD! Pancakes were burnt! I sent it all back and asked the manager could they cook lighter pancakes (the second batch were one step from burnt). He told me no because the grill is hot! WTH?!? All grills are hot if you are cooking on them. Last, my fried potatoes came on a bed of oil! Literally about 2 tablespoons full! Anyways if the manager would walk around and check things he would know he needs a new cook! BTW the second batch of the crab egg Benedict was a little better. Overall, customer service stinks! I was so impressed with this restaurant. I ate here with a group of 4 and we all had delicious meals. Two different omelettes and two different eggs Benedict - all delightful, tasty, and perfectly cooked. The food came out very fast - we were surprised. We were quoted a 15 minute wait on a Saturday at 9:15 AM, we were at our table in 14 minutes! The service was great, the food was great too! I got the Baciquizo omelet with cream cheese inside and bacon and chorizo on top, weird sounding, but super good! I highly recommend this spot if you are in town for breakfast! Me and mom came here on the 3rd of this month. Amber our server was amazing, had us laughing the whole time we were there. She was very knowledgeable of what was on the menu and gave us great suggestions to pick out from the menu. The restaurant was very clean and the atmosphere was nice.
