This place had a line when we pulled up on a Sunday morning but there was plenty of parking and indoor waiting space. We were told it would be about 20 mins but it was shorter than that. We got there at about 9am on Sunday. It was full-ish but there were still seats available. Let's start with the coffee: 10/10. Hot, refilled, smooth, and dark. We both had scrumptious omelets, and because everything looked good--we also tried the beignets (hot, with marmalade...incredible). Oh. We got pancakes with the omelette--he got the bourbon banana ones, and I got the lemon blueberry ones. I want to go back there right now and have the same thing! Williamsburg can be a hard place to go for food because it's a tourist town and it seems like many businesses count on not having repeat customers. Not so at Another Broken Egg Cafe!!! In a town chock full of pancake and breakfast joints, I'm at a loss as to how this place is still open. Literally had one of the worst meals ever in Williamsburg. I ordered the eggs Blackstone Benedict with country potatoes and a cup of coffee. The food came out surprisingly in less than five minutes. The eggs and english muffin were cold and the sauce on top congealed. The potatoes were stone cold and hard as a rock. The coffee tasted like over used dishwater. Service was less than inspiring. This is a one and done for this awful place and one star only because they don't allow less. read more

A friend and I visited the restaurant for lunch today. We had wanted to try it for awhile but I would have been happier if we had waited a little longer to dine there. The restaurant was maybe 1/4 full (not busy) but it took a long time for our food to be served after we ordered. The food was just OK. Edible but nothing special. The eggs were rubbery, the gravy was pasty (tapioca like) and the potatoes were OK albeit over salted. There was only ONE jelly container in the condiments bin. We sat near the front close to the bar and found that the bartender was loud and disturbing. The waitress was not good about checking on us and we never saw a manager. I did point out that I thought our food sat under the heat lamps too long but the waitress was not sympathetic but offered to bring more gravy--but that also took awhile to be served. The highlight of our visit was finding that the bathrooms were clean and stocked with soap and paper towels. The handicap parking spaces were across the parking lot but there were many parking places next to the building That could have been used for handicap parking. It's the little things that count and this restaurant needs remedial math training!! As a native of Williamsburg I've watched many restaurants open, survive, flourish, close and just disappear over the years. It's always (well usually) interesting to try a new restaurant but it's sad to find one that cannot compete at the required level to win at this endeavor In Williamsburg. The breakfast restaurant competition here is tough and highly competitive and so attention to detail, great food, excellent service and reasonable prices are necessary to succeed. Should be a 0 star option. They have an option for online reservation, my party of 9 used it. Note that we also tried to call prior to the online reservation, called twice with no answer. So we did the online option. Get to the restaurant, and they tell us they are not accepting and online reservation but that they will seat us in about 10 minutes, they are clearing a table. We go to get seated and another party of 9 steps in and say they were on the list first. And the manager went back on their word of seating us. Highly recommend their fig citrus pancakes! Was in town and was looking for some good breakfast. Was seated quickly and food served quick as well. Server was friendly and interior is much bigger that it looks on the outside. Restaurant is under new management and it shows! Menu is creative with their options beyond standard breakfast. The fig citrus pancakes with crème filling were beyond exceptional. Coffee was smooth and not too bitter. Can tell the kitchen puts in the work to deliver good food! I would not come here for the food. I got chilaquiles and they decided to sub the cheese without telling me and it was gross. It also was supposed to come with cilantro and I asked for extra. It came out with none on it at all and when I asked the server went to get it but it came out as a whole plant basically. The dish also was supposed to have avocado with it and there was none. I didn't get what was on the menu at all. Plus my side of potatoes were dried out. The server was nice enough but seemed clueless. We were excited to finally get to try this place! We went on a Monday or Tuesday, it wasn't busy at all so we were seated within a few minutes. We reviewed the menu and placed out order. My husband went traditional and got pancakes, scrambled eggs, and bacon. I got the bananas foster pancakes. My pancakes also came with eggs and a choice of meat. I don't eat breakfast meat but I got chicken sausage for my husband. The eggs and meat were fine, although you only get one small chicken sausage, the pancakes on the other hand were undercooked! This was very unfortunate as my husband absolutely loves pancakes but was severely disappointed with these. There was also a weird aftertaste, like too much baking soda in both sets of pancakes. We finally found a great local brunch place! Hubby and I finally gave this place a try and it totally blew our expectations out of the water. Despite popping in on a busy Sunday we only waited about 15-20 minutes before being called up and sat at the bar. The bartender/server Kiki was absolutely wonderful. She was so friendly and cheery despite being very obviously busy. They have an amazing food and cocktail menu and it was hard to choose. I finally settled on the Hash Brown Benedict that was composed of ham and cheese stuffed hash brown croquettes topped with a lovely mushroom hollandaise and gorgeously poached eggs and grits for my side. I opted for the mango mimosa. Hubby did biscuits and gravy with the Grand mimosa. We both absolutely loved our food choices! We want to go back and try more of their food and cocktails.
