This is our first visit since Oceans & Ale departed. The menu is heavy on bar food with a fewer entries. The server was sweet and attentive but didnt know anything about the food or drinks. The drinks are small and don't waist your time on the margaritas. She crab soup had a good portion of crab, but was luke warm, very thick and had a lot of other veggies in it that were hard to identify. $11 a cup...I'd pass. The Blackened Yellofin Tuna with Jasmine rice was dry and tasteless even when ordered medium rare. The rice was slumped together and did not look or tast like jasmine rice. But the mixed veggies served on the side were flavorable and very good. The Fish and Chips we good. Crispy fish and and we'll done fries. The side of Srcacha Coldslaw was excellent, fresh, creamy, with a little bite! All together with two cocktails during happy hour the check was 104 for two. Maybe a 1.5 or 2 out of 5 stars on the Karen & Bill meter. read more

Overall I'm not racing back to come here, just did not standout at all. The positive: The she crab soup was good but it's $10 for a cup. I would expect to have bigger chunks of the crab. It did have a good flavor. Our server was good and pleasant. Inside they stick with a beach theme and that is nice. Very disappointed with the crab cake sandwich. The bun was huge and the crabcake small. The crabcake itself was mediocreThe remoulade sauce was odd tasting, so I was glad it was on the side. Sorry I came for lunch today because the Crab Mac had a base of water in the bowl, the bread on the BLTs​ were soft not toasty and crunchy like under the lamp too long, the checks were messed up for our group, the manager stayed hidden, 2 hr visit + and 40 minutes to sort the items on the checks (for 6). We watched the restaurant empty around us. Sad choice for sure. Not coming back and I live across the street! Manager finally showed at the 2 hr mark, said he'd fix the checks, at that point our waitress was sitting making set-ups, and I never got MY check! Watched a couple walk out before ordering. The food was delicious. We both had the she crab soup and the tuna bites, both dishes were very tasty. The service was excellent, our waitress was Gwen and she was fun and we had excellent service. We loved the look of the place especially the bar which was really beautiful and the drinks were strong and deliciously thirst quenching. read more

A great little spot for lunch! While found in an unassuming little strip mall, its location is perfect as it's near the outlet malls. We were wildly surprised at the quality of the food as we weren't sure what to expect walking in. The decor is adorable and the menu varied, something for everyone. The edamame and shrimp tacos were quite delish, with a solid serving size and great flavor with just enough kick. Service was polite and quick, truly kind folks working there. Good little l spot to stop, especially after some shopping. read more

Wandered in looking for something a little healthier and BAM steamed shrimp it was! Shrimp done well but server missed the seasoning request - immediately fixed it for me with a smile! Hubs had the fish sandwich, to be honest it was smaller than expected, good just a small portion. The fries were meh, nothing special and it was cold in the restaurant so they cooled too quick to enjoy. The wings were cooked perfectly - they needed more seasoning but again our server jumped on bringing us more. Mike our server was great, he checked in often enough without being a nuisance. Solid choice for a good dinner! read more

Longboards is a new restaurant in Williamsburg. They filled the spot of The old Oceans and Ales. I have to say they did a great job with the freshening up of the decor! Brighter and cleaner but not over powered lighting. The tiki vibe makes it unique and interesting. They have several TVs throughout to watch sporting events. The service was excellent, my drinks and food were delivered perfectly and quickly. I got a yellow tuna steak with mixed grilled vegetables as well as a 1/2 lb of steamed shrimp. Unfortunately the shrimp is not on the menu but it is an option in 1/2 lb or 1lb steamed or fried. I also got a dirty martini, which is actually easy to mess up if you have old olive juice but they did it right. Unlike most restaurants in Williamsburg they will be open to midnight on Friday Saturday and Sunday, that's awesome to hear. If you're looking for a good meal without a crazy price this is a great choice. read more

The service, the food and my blue raspberry cosmo could all improve. It was pink and tasted more like cranberry, waitress who was not present much assured me it was blue raspberry. The mi tai had way too much ice for the price. Also an up-charge if you dont use cash. The crab and bacon dip should be bacon and crab. The pita chips were good. Trust the stars, my night was a 2, the best you might get is the 3.6 they are holding at, unless management sees they need a solution. In a town hungry for a good night spot, the vibe could be great. Our waitress was fantastic! I would not order the she crab soup later in the day,as it just seemed like it had been sitting around. It was pretty thick and I personally didn't enjoy the flavor. The tuna bite appetizer was wonderful & we had the tuna entree which was good, but the star was the tuna appetizer. The key lime was okay. I guess I'm used to Florida Keylime pie where it's more tart. But the texture was very good, it was just more of a mild lime flavor than I typically expect from a Keylime pie. read more

You want picky? These are small things, but when you're going to pay $20 for lunch, you want a place to be welcoming. That wasn't my impression. Arrived just before 1100, opening time, door was locked. A couple arrived and we stood on the sidewalk as the hostess was staring at us from her station. At 1101 she walked to the bar and sought permission to open up. The lesson here is that they don't WANT to open up, they just have to. The menu is on a dark blue background with black letters. In a not-so-bright place it's very difficult to read. As corporate America pushes us to a cashless society, it was disappointing to see that they charge extra for using a credit card. I had gone here a month or two ago around lunchtime and had a lovely dining experience. Upon returning though, I found that the salad I ordered was half the size of the one I had recieved previously (for the same ~$12 price, of course), underdressed, with odd squishy croutons that seemed to have not been baked long enough. My husband ordered the special, which was a burger, but when it arrived it was very obviously a frozen patty, and upon receiving the check it did not have the special price. Rather than making complaints, we simply decided we won't be coming again. Our server was very nice, the place is cute, and the events are fun, but it just isn't worth eating bad food. read more

The absolute worst customer service. when the female bartender decided to finally acknowledge my presence, there was no friendly greeting only very rudely said "what are you drinking?" NOTHING. I did consider staying, but then I thought about it. Why am I going to sit there and pay money to an establishment if the bartender cannot even say hello. Never going back. read more

Service was abhorrent. And it was not busy. Server brought the wrong drinks. Wasn't worth trying to get the right ones as it took 20 mins to get drinks in the first place. Food was not hot and was dry. The crab Mac n cheese for an appetizer has zero crab. Cheese was good. I had to get up to be the kids menus and drink menus The water has a chemical taste to it. I had great hopes for this restaurant, but was disappointed on all levels. Came with a group of four couples at 4:30 on a Friday for a birthday before going to a concert. Took 30 minutes to get beer and cocktails, two of the three beers were wrong beer, cocktails were mostly ice, or not made properly. Never did get the correct replacements. Another hour before received our food. Again, wrong food came to two in our. party, fries were horrible like they were thawed and reheated in an oven. They were wet and soggy without salt. Correct dinners took another 20-30 minutes to come out, and dropped in front of our friends without a word. The waitress acted like we were inconveniencing her from the moment we sat down. She took the orders, delivered the drinks, food and checks. Never came back to see if we needed anything, or to provide refills. Checks were wrong with items listed or never received such as appetizers, and salads. You can imagine the attitude we got when we pointed out the errors. We go out regularly and never had a truly horrible experience, but this was without a doubt an epic failure across the board. One and done. Too many other great options in Williamsburg to deal with subpar service and food. read more
