    Abby's rose

Went over to the Inn for dinner and was not disappointed. We started the evening with a lovely bottle of Saratoga still water and some adult beverages. I had the Abby's Rose and it was delicious. We were presented with some bread and butter to begin with (the butter is in an absolutely adorable dish on the table). The shrimp cocktail was probably the biggest "disappointment" of the evening, but that's a stretch. My only issue was the cocktail sauce had some odd herbs in it--- I would have preferred a more typical sauce. There were four large shrimp in the cocktail. For dinner I had the filet and WOW it was delicious! Perfect sear and flavor. Mashed potatoes and veggies were also amazing as well. None of the desserts struck me (and everything had milk in it that evening as well) so we skipped. Our server, Trayvon, was wonderful and provided excellent service throughout the meal without being obtrusive. The ambiance is truly modern classic and not stuffy at all. I would not hesitate to return for another meal!

I would definitely recommend this restaurant while staying at the Inn. It was great food and great service. Everything was top notch!

We stayed at the Colonial Houses and got breakfast here as part of our hotel stay package. Walking in, we did not know what to expect. Immediately, we felt underdressed and out of place in our "touring Colonial Williamsburg on foot" clothes... But we went ahead anyway! I had the blueberry stuffed pancakes which were truly to die for. Husband had a sampler which he said was okay. Service was absolutely phenomenal and the room was beautiful. This is definitely not a place we would typically go, as it felt very "fancy," but since it was included in our package I'm glad we took advantage! Would definitely go back if it was included in another package... and with nicer clothes on! :-)

Was a pleasant surprise to be able to get a reservation on Mothers Day. It says casual attire however for dinner, most are more casual elegant. Our service was friendly and helpful in helping me chose a drink to try. The drinks were delicious, a tad on the pricey side but these are our times. I opted for the brisket short rib burger and it was the most flavorful burger I've ever had! I could only finish half of the burger. Very nice ambiance.

Making reservations was a breeze over the phone. The Terrace room seems to be more suitable for groups of four or less, whereas the Goodwin Room is tailored for larger gatherings. It's very cozy and elegantly appointed. Our server was a delight! Her laughter and cheerful spirit made the experience that much more enjoyable! She is very personable! The menu is very limited, which can be a blessing or a hindrance based on your perspective. The portions are what you would expect at an upscale restaurant. However, the chicken pot pie did look more filling. The two in our group were happy with their meal, and said it had more of a soupy consistency versus a gravy style. My husband and I wanted to sample two different dishes, so I opted for the brisket and rib burger with fries and he ordered the salmon. Both were flavorful and delicious. But my husband and I were still hungry after. It may have been that we hadn't eaten lunch earlier. Three of us had mocktails, two which were a fall Granada spice drink and the other one which was essentially a lemonade. My husband had a real drink, an old Timey, which he said was good, but as expected was pricey. We all ordered dessert from three choices. One was a flourless chocolate cake, a banana foster creme brûlée, and a blood orange panna cotta tart which was more a beehive meringue with a blood orange sorbet inside on a bed of spiced crumble. I was politely steered away from the blood orange panna cotta tart, however my curiosity got the best of me . I'm laughing because I should have listened to our server. It wasn't terrible, but not as delicious or creamy and decadent as their creme brûlée or flourless cake. If you like tangy, sugary and crunchy the blood orange panna cotta tart would be the right option. The views from the Terrace room of the putting green is wonderful. This is a nice convenient option if you're staying on the premise or sister resorts and like to be tucked away. You can have a "fancy" meal with high prices and not have to dress up, as there is no dress code and it's considered casual, upscale dining. You can find other restaurants with a lesser price point, or same price point with more options and tastier options, but when you dine here you are paying for the ambiance and service. It was not crowded when we dined at 5:15pm and our waters were always replenished and our plates promptly removed. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and to be honest the reviews I've read on TripAdvisor and Yelp made it a toss up on deciding to eat here. I decided to just experience the food/restaurant myself. I went in with certain expectations and wasn't disappointed. I just left with a bit of lingering hunger ;-) It was a pleasant experience, to try at least ONCE.

Wonderful fixed price breakfast and their dinner was also delicious. The customer service was excellent every time. Best breakfast at colonial Williamsburg.

Another wonderful dinner at the Terrace Room with a new seasonal menu starting today. Staff was well versed on the new selections. As always service was excellent. Ambiance is elegant yet comfortable.

First appearance was great and elegant. Walking into classical style dining area with everything matching perfectly. Server was nice and helpful. The bread and butter was nothing special. Our chocolate and catcher in the rye martini was great. Appetizers oyster was great very tasty with a hint of flowery and spicy. Salmon was nothing special that didn't not leave a lasting memory. The 1937 burger at a lot going on. Meat was great, lobster was missing felt like it need a bit more butter, the bun had too much sesame seeds and the fries was spot on best tasting fries we ever had. Crème brûlée and chocolate dessert was on point. Took too long to get the check back after giving payment. Understandable that they may have been busy with two weeding there but the dining area wasn't too busy. Still worth going back.

Excellent New Year's day brunch. Service was attentive and food was delicious. Brunch is a 3 course meal and there was plenty of food. I really enjoyed the crab soup and salad. The poached eggs were excellent and their homemade hollandaise made the dish. My husband really enjoyed their burger and my son had the roast with eggs which he really enjoyed. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing and I highly recommend if your looking for a relaxing brunch.

We tried this place with friends thinking because the Inn had a good reputation and the decorations were lovely, it was a safe bet. First, our server was fantastic. He was clear, helpful, friendly & efficient. They were out of the Pot Pie, the 'Entree of the Season'. The soup and goulash portions were small, especially for the price. The trout was excellent as were the sides. Problem is, 4 of our party of 8 defaulted to the 'Cedar River Burger'... thinking it must be decent for $22. Twenty two dollars. It was cooked to order but nothing special. We asked for a lettuce wraps instead of the brioche bun (now common in several supermarket chains). One plate has mushrooms instead of the seasoned fries it came with. Take a look at the pictures and think $22. Meals at Kephi Greek Kitchen, Second Street Bistro for dinner and even Shorty's Diner and Mellow Mushroom (great vegan sandwich) for lunch were much more enjoyable.

We did not stay at the hotel, but the dinner we had at the Terrace room was a hilight of our entire trip. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. The cocktails tasted great and I specially recommend the Manhattan. For the quality of food and drinks, the price was very reasonable as well. Highly recommend!

First review- so I'm gonna give ya all I've got on this spot…read more Location: It's in the same shopping center as Burlington coat Factory in Denbigh area Newport News.. Location isn't bad at all and there's more of an older crowd there. Not many folks my age (from what I saw, it's more of the throw back Thursday, which is cool) Food: I tried the 8 oz burger and instead fries I got a salad. Wish the burger had a bit more seasoning - I mean it was juicy but lacked flavor the ketchup mayo onion and things gave it that flavor. It has potential to be an amazing burger (I would pay more for flavor tbh). I also got a bold rock which is only $1 off during happy hour Each Combo comes with a drink, but I had to ask the bartender for my drink after my food came out versus her asking me what I wanted to drink aside from the beer since it's included ya know. Service: It's a pretty welcoming environment as far as the staff goes, the crowd they attract isn't like the alley on mercury but it also isn't giving me boujee either The bartender was pretty attentive and so was the gentleman who sat at the front and told me a bit about the place I asked him what goes on around here and he gave me the run down. I told him I was on yelp and uploading pictures since they didn't have much he says "we don't really do yelp too much" lol I mean whether the business does it or not people like my self will still give feedback about the business from an elite perspective. Will i return? I'd probably go back and try another food item and maybe check out some of their weekly happenings. For such a cool spot overall, there specials could be better. A pretty good experience I wish I could give them at least 4 stars but my rating of this represents the fact there isn't much that STANDS OUT it's just another lounge for food , drinks , musics etc. I do encourage you all to check them out and leave a review so others know about this little spot
