Everytime my sister comes into town I'm obligated to entertain, and Richmond is no D.C!! I have to hear how we don't have Grown and Sexy clubs ( we don't but I tried it )! I asked an associate of mine, ( who I thought had her finger on the pulse of the social night life) if she could recommend some 45 and over clubs, and this one was definitely not that! I'm insulted that they had the audacity to try and charge a $20 cover. As soon as we entered the place a stench of urine grabbed a hold of my nostrils and didn't release them until I left . Did I mention how nice all the employees were. Everyone was exceptional! Except for the DJ!! He was so bad I refuse to remember his name !! I have never in my entire life been to a club where the DJ talks while the music is playing and then pauses the music to listen to himself talk some more!! To make matters worse, he had an entourage of hype men, and wannabe rappers. The club appeared to be more of a 21 and whatever crowd. I don't think I will be going back again. I have accepted the fact that if I want to party correctly, I have to head over to Nova/DC area. I'm giving them 2 stars because of the staff. read more

My girls and I went for Taco Thursday and happy hour. Our server was very attentive and polite, really nice. Our food was good between us we had the wings, shrimp tacos, shrimp basket w/seasoned fries. Everything came out hot and fresh. For drinks we had lemon drop margaritas (I didn't care for it but my home girls did). I also had a Bahama mama which was delicious! If the crowd was bigger we may have stayed past 8pm. Good music, good food, good company! I came here well after midnight and I was able to order hot food. The shrimp platter was fresh and seasoned well. The wings were also cooked to order. I ordered a rum and coke to drink that came out with a smoke show. It was amazing. The bartender was friendly and attentive. They have a DJ who played a great mix of music and the restaurant is spacious and clean. The crowd for Saturday night ranged from 21-61. The music reminded me of satellite, but it's much safer. So my girlfriend and I visited this establishment 2 weeks ago. The tables were all booked so book in advance! Luckily, there was a table open for two (we were expected 2 others to join us but they did not). We ordered fish wings and fries for $15 dollars which were actually REALLY good. The beers were kind of pricey, but the barista was SUPER friendly. the music that night was RnB and old school hip hop, there was 2 DJs and they were rocking it! We then ordered a hookah which was brought to us quickly and didn't have to ask for more coals, they brought them! The ambiance was nice but the lighting was very dark. The bouncers where respectful, the hostess was attentive, the crowd was very mature and having such a good time. Id recommend this place to anyone who is looking to have a great time after a long week of working and looking to vibe with a mature audience without sketchy looking people ! Great spot with lots of room inside the building for dancing and socializing. Food and drinks are great. I've visited several times and my favorite so far is the buffalo chicken dip and chicken wings. A must visit on Friday nights. Most Friday's there is no cover charge and the people really pack the place. The owners are great people who will sit there and have a conversation with you. I would love to give a more detailed review of the food but my experiences have been with their other services. However, I did order dinner after an event. The salmon cakes, potatoes, and broccoli were generously portioned. I was able to take it for lunch the next day; it was delicious. 12/11/16 Food update:New menu item Buffalo Chicken Fries. Buffalo Chicken Dip over fries. OMG! It was so good! The hostesses are professional and they go out of their way to accommodate guests despite the large crowds. This is a great spot for 30+ age range. The bartender, Sydney, fixed a great Purple Haze. The guest dj was ok, the dance floor was full by 1130pm. The crowd was small, but fun. I was most impressed by Tay, the bathroom attendant. The ladies bathroom is like a party in itself, with music, fan, conversation, and breath mints. I would go back and recommend. read more

I went here yesterday 2/25/2017 for a friends birthday party. The place had a $10 cover charge, live bank and full bar. It was a very good time and awesome crowd. Definitely need to dress to get in, no sneakers and sweatshirts. The bar tenders are super nice and attentive. I ordered a 10 piece party wing naked and fries . $14 dollars and was delicious. I will be looing at future events taking place here in the future. Its worth the trip if your looking for a little grown and sexy. read more

This has to be Southside of the James best night spot. The staff is extremely friendly and professional, the chicken wings are my go to late night snack. If you're looking dor a good drink you have to try the Purple Haze! Last week (week of 4/11) my girlfriend wanted to get together for her birthday. I called on a Tuesday for reserved seating for 10, and they geaciously obliged. We arrived Friday night around 10:30 ( can you believe its free before 11. Winning). The table was neatly dressed with black table clothes and the birthday girls name. We disnt purchase bottle service but you wouldve thought we did because of the great service we recieved. Tiffany was our server and she was so gracious with her time and patience since we had a fairly large group with mutiple orders. Our food came out quickly and drinks were strong! The music was everything from New Edition to 90's Lil Kim to 2000 Cash Money right on up to the current Drake. Nice mature crowd... It is more of a 35 and up crowd, but I'm under that age and had a great time. Good finger food and good servers... The music is good, but the DJ does not know how to mix. I like how everything is set up. It is not a hole in the wall type of place. It is very spacious and no one comes looking like a bum... No pants hanging guys... No booty short outfits lol Well I didn't see any, but I've only been twice. Was referred here by some friends. Well we were a party of 9 so we expected a wait. But no wait it was the price that shocked us... $20 Sunday all you can eat brunch. The menu was not that diverse(fried fish, chicken, chicken alfredo,cabbage, green beans, bread, Caesar salad, black beans & corn mixture & seafood salad). I'm a dessert person and there was only 2 pieces of cheese cake and chocolate cake. I had asked for some water and was told a bottle was $2 and i just needed a cup. Went here for an event. The staff was helpful, the venue was clean and the music was on point! I didn't have any of the food, but it smelled delicious and the people at the event who ate said the wings were amazing!! Next time I will try them! I do wish the signage was a little larger because I drove past it twice looking for it, but I am sure they will get that fixed. read more

I went here for the first time on Saturday. My fiance and I enjoyed ourselves. We were probably the youngest ones in there in our late 20's , But that was ok. We prefer places with NO drama! We went to see Niki Howard live. The show was good, We did get up and dance. The DJ was by the name of DJ Cash and he was "ok".... They also had a comedian from DC there that performed before Niki Howard, and unfortunately he was not that funny and the crowd was not very warm toward him or his jokes. Everyone there was very pleasant that we encountered. The dress code was defiantly grown and sexy, I seen no jeans or behinds hanging out at least not on the night we were there. we ordered the drink call "The Bob Marley" and it was good and it had us sitting nice rather quickly. We also had the buffalo wings. THEY WERE SO DELICIOUS! I am very particular about my wings because I don't like them were I feel they are not cooked enough. But these were perfect. So all in all we will go here again in the future, If you are looking for a more grown, old school vibe, with good food and drinks this place will do the job. But if you are looking for the latest hits and young people at every corner this place will not suffice. Also the service was SLOW the waitress was very nice but she had so many tables and it was only 1 of her, Given the situation she managed the best she could and her demeanor was never like she was aggravated. read more
