I have eaten shrimp and grits many many times all over on our travels and this was by far the worst one ever!! Tiny tiny shrimp, of which there were 6 , had NO flavor and tasted like they were thrown in as an afterthought. The peppers and onions were still crunchy, and I bit into a huge piece of bay leaf that was not removed after cooking the sauce, of which most of the meal consisted of. I would not have even eaten it, but after my son in law shelled out $18.99 for it ... I choked half of it down because I felt so bad at leaving almost $20 on my plate. Terrible meal!!! 4/19/2026 read more

Cute restaurant. Attentive servers. I had the Crab Cakes Benedict and it was yummy! It could have been a little hotter, but it was so good! My husband had the hash with roasted Brussels sprouts in it and loved it. read more

We visited Another Broken Egg for a birthday celebration with a party of 10. We called ahead and were seated quickly for brunch even though the restaurant was very busy. The space felt cozy but not crowded with country-inspired decor. Service was friendly, but was not super quick (but this was understandable due to our large party). They have some creative specialty brunch items; I tried a croissant French toast dish. It was very tasty, although I don't think the croissant worked as a French toast as well as maybe another bread choice. It just felt like a flattened croissant that was slightly toasted and dusted with sugar. I appreciate the creativity though, and the spicy chocolate ganache worked well with the sweet bread and tart berries. Overall it was a good experience - I'd like to come back to try some of their other dishes. read more

Yum!! Egg-actly what we wanted... great bfast, great service at a great price! This isn't just "another" eatery, they have an extensive menu of pancake, waffles, omelettes, brunch cocktails, as well as the traditional country meals. Our server, Ahmed, was cordial and accommodating. I ordered Earl Grey tea and it was served in the coolest mug! The fist time I ate here my eggs were too runny, (I ordered over med-well) today they were perfect! I love the baked (not fried) bacon and the grits are super creamy! My favorite meal of the day can be had at this clean, convenient, and comfortable restaurant! When I'm Williamsburg, come here for eggs-quisite food! read more

I am about to make a strong statement and I stand by it 110%. This Cafe has the best Breakfast menu of any cafe I have ever seen. You want a Lobster and Brie Omellete no problem, do you prefer an Omellete stuffed with crabment, cream cheese, and garlic butter, no problem as these are only a tip of the iceberg of Another Broken Egg Cafe's offerings. The vision Another Broken Egg Cafe has is "craveable" southern-inspired culinary dishes. This restaurant is a bit next level in the sense they even offer adult beverage pouches while you wait (think capri sun with a plastic straw but they call them brunch cocktails). Over 93 locations and the closest one in the north east tri-state area is the one in Williamsburg, VA. The dessert menu looks like fire and I had my heart set on ordering the biscuit beignets, pro-tip - you can order a 1/2 order of this side, however they were out or we were too full, to be honest I do not recall but one thing I am certain of if I make it here again they will be ordered if in stock. This Cafe is one of those surprises in life that I was not expecting to be so good but lately it seems like the universal has been on my side. Wishing everyone a great day, week, month, and year and as always people SYOY!!! read more

The food and service was great!! The ambience was so relaxing but comforting at the same time.

I thought this place was very cute and also delicious. The décor is a bit eclectic but obviously designed with intent. The interior is very spacious so even with a lot of people, things felt spaced out. I was wisely intrigued by the idea of Cinnamon Roll French Toast on the menu and had to get it. After reading "Thick-sliced, house-baked French-toast style cinnamon rolls topped with cream cheese icing, rum butter sauce drizzle, fresh seasonal berries and fresh whipped cream" i had no choice but to try it. And it lived up to my own hype! IT was sweet but the fruit helped balance out the flavors and it came with bacon/eggs for a little bit of a balanced meal with protein. It was the delight of cinnamon rolls but sliced up. Delightful! There were several other interesting-sounding dishes on the menu, so I look forward to returning and trying those. The coffee had a nice bold flavor and service was on point. It was a great way to start the day. read more

My friends and I stopped in here for breakfast on vacation a few weeks ago! I've been to one of these restaurants in Tampa but my friends never been and let me just say that they weren't ready!!!! Lol! I told them about the deliciousness, and they are aware that I'm a foodie but they still weren't ready! The place was clean & cutely decorated. We started with coffee! Yum! I ordered the lobster omelette and it was delightful! My friends both ordered chicken fried steak eggs Benedict which the raved about! The grits & home fries were perfect too. We also ordered beignets & a banana pancakes dish for the 3 of us to share that were both amazing! Our server was awesome too! On top of everything quickly and the place was very busy! I wish you had a location in Connecticut so I could try everything on the menu! read more

Food was good! Had the spike Irish coffee which was okay and didn't, but the apple pie mimosa was delicious but didn't take a picture of the drinks. I am honestly kicking myself for not trying to his place earlier. For years, this has been the location of a run of the mill IHOP. When A. B. E. Cafe moved in, I presumed it was just another pancake house joining the fleet on Richmond road. I was incredibly wrong. This place is a taste of the south. Most of their dishes are inspired by New Orleans fare which only means one thing - good. To start, I ordered the café amore and full order of beignets. The spiked coffee was delicious and the whipped nut topping was a great touch. The beignets were excellent. They are biscuit beignets and the honey topping was the perfect level of sweetness for this sugary sweet. For my main course, I ordered the shrimp and grits. The waitress mentioned getting them city style which translates to being cooked in bacon fat. I ordered it this way. It practically dissolved in your mouth. It was so savory and had ample amounts of sausage and shrimp. I would get this every time if it weren't for the wide variety to sample from the menu! This place is, while a but pricey, incredible. It has skyrocketed to one of my favorite spots in town and I look forward to going back again. read more

Spent the weekend in Williamsburg with family visiting us from Atlanta, and we had brunch here on the rainiest Friday ever. We enjoyed a Grand Mimosa pitcher (perfectly strong and tasty), chicken biscuits with bacon (yum!), eggs Benny, and the kids' chocolate chips pancakes (with bacon and scrambled eggs, it was a great deal for our hungry 6 year old). Our server, Hannah, was super awesome and felt like a friend once we'd left. She was professional, funny, matched our vibe, and was a genuinely all-around cool person. We actually ran into her the next day at Busch Gardens - what a pleasant surprise. Thank you Hannah for going above and beyond and making us feel welcome! read more

Where do I even start, this was a horrible experience for me and my girlfriend. We ordered 2 dishes, one of them being a smoked salmon benedict and the other being blueberry lemon zest pancakes with a side of toast. Smoked salmon was standard but the poached egg was raw, I know what a poached egg looks like and that was not one. As for the other dish, the pancakes were solid but we received moldy bread which immediately made me lose my appetite. Also, my girlfriend was given a dirty fork and when she asked for a new one, she was given another dirty fork. Highly disappointed in this place and recommend that you don't go here. read more

For a breakfast restaurant its decor is great, food presentation is good but too many twists on breakfast options. The hash brown Benny their version of an egg Benedict. Too many additives to their version. Way too many starches to the $16.95 (over) price. Plus $4.95 iced tea! Wow do I get the whole pitcher? Those 2 items is all I got $23.05 + 4.00 tip=a $27 breakfast. Outrageous. Lesson learned. read more

4.5 stars for this location! Let's start off by saying that this restaurant caught my eye driving because of its name. I thought that it was Woody and decided to check out the menu online. We saw that it was only opened from the morning to early lunchtime and decided that we would come and try it out before our vacation ended. Now when I say I am a brunch person I have been to so many k can't remember most of their names! We had the beignets which were amazing! We ordered a napoleon, a crab Benedict and a double Cho chip pancake. We grabbed a hot cocoa too. It was so good we came here 2 days in a row! Service was fast and friendly and food was superb! read more

another broken egg cafe? honestly, thankfully i only spent 60 bucks because the entire meal was not that great. it was flavorless or some portions of the meal were too seasoned. the spiked coffee i had (i had two sips off and moved to the side) but the moment we sat down the whole experienced felt rushed and uncomfortable. i really wanted to like this place. Service was great .... Food is not 4 or 5 stars. Maybe for the local taste buds ‍. Its ihop turned into a local brunch spot.

The food in service at their restaurant was top notch! First time visiting. The food was delicious. Each and every item that came out of the kitchen was fabulous! From the coffee to the beignets, to the pancakes to the French toast absolutely delicious and I didn't even partake in the alcohol menu that they have here, yes, that is right I said alcohol for breakfast. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family! read more

My second visit to ABEC was nearly as disastrous as the first. I parked in the same space as before, and was again greeted with the same dead squirrel in the mulch. Sheesh! What part of unappetizing do you not understand? I tried to put that out of my mind because I didn't want that to influence the rest of my review. Once inside the store, the same greeter/seater showed me to a different table. His warmth had increased a tick. I perused the menu, and my server, the very pleasant Kaylee took my order and answered my questions. I started with Coffee, and then ordered the Buttermilk Pancakes, "Three house-recipe buttermilk cakes," and Bacon for my side. The Syrup was already on the table. I asked Kaylee what kind of Syrup it was, and she replied by asking me if I wanted Sugar-free Syrup? No, I'm just wondering if it's Maple, Boysenberry or what? She replied, "It's just plain Syrup." I thought to myself that belaboring the issue would be no less frustrating, so I dropped the issue. After a few minutes my food came out, and Kaylee asked, "Do you want Butter with your Pancakes?" Is the Pope Catholic? Yes, I want Butter. I daresay that 9 out of 10 people who order Pancakes, want them with Butter. So Kaylee shouldn't feel the need to ask. Butter should be served with Pancakes, on the side. I started with the Bacon, 2 strips, which was rather lackluster. I ate and enjoyed every bite, I would not order it again. On to the Pancakes. They were rather flat, not fluffy at all. Also dry. Again, I ate and enjoyed every bite, but once is enough. In a blind taste test I would describe them as regular Pancakes. No hint of Buttermilk. The store was basically clean. In the ladies' room, there were several instances of paper on the floor. There were also several scraps in the dining area, but, to their credit, there was one man cleaning it. And something -- Syrup I think -- on the bench seat where I sat. In summary... Plusses: + ease of parking in the dedicated lot + extensive menu + metal flatware + heavy duty paper napkin + mostly clean store Minuses: - quality of the Pancakes. - speed of service - still carrion in the parking lot - waitstaff needs training I think I'm done here. I may return in one year, to see if they have improved at all. read more

Let me start by saying that the restaurant and grounds seem very clean which is always good. We were greeted less than enthusiastically. We were a party of 3 and each added City Grits to our order which is an up charge . After a longer than expected wait our food arrived. Grits was cold, not warm but cold. Other items were not hot When our server inquired we told her that our food was cold. We were still charged and our bill for 3 was north of $78. There should have been an adjustment. Its a shame but we will not be going back read more

Didn't realize this place was in the old IHOP building in Williamsburg off Richmond road. Got here before 9am this morning and no wait. Greeted and seated super friendly waitress. My brother ordered the Skinny Omelette w/fruit and I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict w/country potatoes. This place has a little cajun flare! My hollandaise sauce had andouille sausage which was really yum! Food was really good! I'll be back to try some mimosas or a spicked iced coffee next time! Oh they have a bar area and they have bloody Mary's too ... Tip: come early! I was leaving at 10am they had a minor wait. read more

Service was great, food was okay nothing fancy. My omelette was "overcooked" and dry if that's possible. Rest of the meal was average.

I came here for brunch with some friends, and I loved how many different options they had on their brunch menu. However, I was disappointed with what I ended up ordering. I got the pumpkin waffle with scrambled eggs and breakfast sausage. The sausage was good and the eggs were average. The waffle was good enough, but tasted like something I could have made at home - I was expecting more from a seasonal item. Our server was a bit offputting, but service was pretty quick, and I was really surprised to hear that they don't offer any alternative milks. The interior is pretty average, but not really anything special. read more

We had a mixed bag of an experience here, but in a town known for it's huge variety of breakfast diners, cafes, and pancake houses, this was akin to eating at an IHoP and overpriced for the experience. The restaurant was very crowded and noisy, so not good for conversation. Our waiter was friendly and as attentive as I'd expect, given the crowds. As for the food, one friend loved his Huevos Rancheros, one friend felt her pancake breakfast was just OK, and I was disappointed in my blueberry goat cheese pancakes (they had a lot of blueberries, but about 1 tsp of goat cheese in the middle of each pancake and that was it). We ordered a side of biscuit beignets and they arrived fully raw on the inside. Waiter brought a replacement and these ones were raw in the middle. I assume the cook was overcrowding the fryer, and I gave up on trying to get an edible batch. Overall, I can't recommend this place when there are so many better options in the area. read more

HOLY MOLEY!! Talk about unexpected food joy. We both had rum cake French toast. I thought ok something a lil different. When it arrived it was a work of art. Berries and pineapple adorned the tops of three cakes that were cooked French toast style. The rum sauce accented the tops. The platter was served with 2 eggs and REAL smoke house bacon. OMG!! The flavor dances all over your tongue. The coffee is no slouch either. It was a bold roast but not bitter. SOOOO full and content. If you like an unusual breakfast this is THE PLACE! read more

I liked this cafe. Decor 7/10 Not much went into the bath decor, which I think is a shame because the remainder of the cafe is nice. It was decently clean though. Food 7/10 There was absolutely no seasoning on this food. Granted it is breakfast food, it was just very bland. The food does come out fairly fast though. I ordered the Mardi Gras omelette as a scramble, with potatoes and English muffin, accompanied with a sweet tea. The tea was actually my favorite thing of my meal, very well made. Service 9/10 I was lucky enough to be apart of someone's training, Larry. Cora I think was her name was the lead. They both were great, and I really appreciate the hostess accommodating me on my seat preference. Overall would I come again, yes. I just won't order any eggs. The cookie dough waffle seemed to be a favorite. So I might be back to enjoy that one day. read more
