Love this place hands down. It gets busy so be prepared to call ahead. Food is always fresh and service is always nice.

This was our first visit to Raleigh NC and this restaurant on a Sunday morning. Very friendly staff. Since it was our first visit, our waiter gave us a complimentary order of beignets which were delicious. Everyone was very pleased with their food. Choices for breakfast places are slim in Raleigh, so we tried this place. Hostess was super welcoming and got sat within 20 minutes of arrival, which was right on time of wait time given. Service was fine. The food was disappointing. Got a bowl of fruit with watermelon and blueberries. All watermelon pieces had seeds still and every blueberry had stems attached. Spent about 10 minutes de-seeding all my fruit :( Got eggs over easy, cooked as ordered. Nothing extraordinary, service was ok, food wasn't that great, wait time wasn't bad. read more

Me and my friend decided to try this place, we work in a nearby office. We placed our order and waited almost 40 min and nothing ( they were only two more tables with customers), we have only one hour lunch, and our order was so simple, my friends a chicken sandwich and mine a toast and a sweet sausage, another table that comes after us get their food when we were leaving. They didn't apologize and they even charged my friend for the apple juice, they didn't charge me because I order a glass of water. This was some of the worst food I have ever had! The eggs tasted like they were powdered. The guacamole was old and the grits were completely tasteless (and cold). Will not be returning. Great spot for breakfast/brunch, but get there 30-40 minutes before you want to eat. The wait is always long, as is the wait after you put in your order. The food itself is delicious. I usually get the Lakeshore Scramble. It is a huge portion that I can never finish. Good coffee, but if you order a latte or mocha, be ready to wait. read more

Let me just say , I don't eat grits at all ever. However as event i had the opportunity to taste " The City Grits" at Another Broken Egg. There were wonderful, I was not even aware I was eating grits because the gritty consistency was not there. they were warm, bursting of flavor and felt more like the most comforting mash potatoes I had ever had without tasting like potatoes. Denied access because of disability. Apparently a party of one is only allowed to dine at the bar, even after disclosing that I have a disability and could not sit at the bar in that type of seating arrangement. Was not permitted access to any of the open tables. Hello...Americans with Disabilities Act! My family and I came here on a Sunday for brunch. Obviously a place like this will get crowded quickly and we did have to wait. But the people up front were trying their best to get everyone seated as soon as possible. Once we were seated and got our food, everything was delicious! I highly recommend an omelette from here. As I approached the restaurant, hostess opened door to greet me - really appreciated the friendliness which the waitress continued. Upon learning it was my first time, she offered a complementary order of beignets. She then offered to substitute a fruit bowl when I told her I do not eat sugar. Decor is bright, cheery & comfy. Food is good - not best, not the worse (had the Floridian, a signature dish, which was flavorful). Grits were creamy and smooth. Only downside, which is a personal preference is my food came out warm and not HOT as I like it. Cheese on my omelet had already hardened. As it was a Monday morning the restaurant was nearly empty, and my food came out very fast (which was a nice bonus). Finally, I had to wait a bit when I was done eating before my waitress approached again, although she brought the check with her when she came, which I appreciated. A very pleasant experience - I would come again. Next time I plan to state when I order that I want my food to come out hot. I would give 3.5-4 out of 5. P.S. I showed this review to the manager before I left. He made some comments about staff hanging out during down time, and confirmed that the food came out fast and that I like the grits. He then came back over and shared about not being able to plan a dinner with his friends because they were on the road. It struck me as unprofessional, especially since he did not address my concern about the food temperature. Fortunately this attitude was not reflected by the staff, which continued to practice generosity of spirit. I would give the staff a 5; the management a 2 and the food a 3.5 (would be higher if the food was hot). read more

First, I have to warn you ... this place gets PACKED on the weekends. If you aren't strolling in by 9:30, you should expect to wait. A while. Waiting for brunch - battling a hangover and counting down the seconds until you can order up a bloody Mary as a little hair of the dog - is part of the whole weekend warrior experience, so know what you're getting into beforehand. The food is solid with typical brunch fare, but service can be a little bit slow. The overall experience is very comfortable, offering an upgrade for the diner loving crew who doesn't want to eat in ... well ... a typical diner. This place is best when you can sit outside on a warm morning because the restaurant gets drafty in the cooler months with all the in and out traffic. read more

Our party of four were up for some brunch and found Another Broken Egg Cafe. The reviews were decent and I haven't tried this before. No wait and everything look good on the menu. I couldn't decided what I wanted. I was torn between the Crabcakes Cavallo or the Southern Crabstack. I decided to get the Southern Crabstack. My friends had a tough time deciding what they wanted also. Our drinks arrived quickly but our food took forever. We waited for about 30 minutes. Then our waitress came by and told us that the computer "malfunctioned" and our order was missing. So we had to repeat again what each of us wanted. To make for it, she gave us free appetizer of biscuit beignets and our drinks were comped. When we finally received our food, I thought the Southern Crabstack was just okay. The grits cake /crab cake was dry and lacked seasoning. The toast and shrimp that came with it was decent. My friends thought their meals were just okay as well. When it came to our bill, it took forever to get even after flagging her down. I did notice that our waitress was stretched a little bit too thin. Our meal experience took over 2 hours which was a tad too long for brunch. read more

I have been coming to Another Broken Egg for a while and have actually left a good review before, but the experiences I've had lately have led me to writing this review. For the past few months now I have noticed that the hostess has looked like they seriously hate their job. They look like they aren't happy to be here and don't greet guests. The food has also been inconsistent, there's always something that I don't end up eating because it comes out wrong. Usually whatever waitress we get doesn't come around to ask how our meal until we are almost finished with our food. We did not see our waitress for almost 40 mins after she took our order, we got one refill the entire time, and my egg was not cooked the way I asked (which by the time she came around it was too late for me to ask for it to be corrected so I left it). The only time the waitress was quick was to get our check paid for. I am very disappointed on my service the past few times I have been here, I'm not sure if it is new management or what. read more

Went to Another Broken Egg in North Hills Sunday. Arrived at the location at 1:27 pm, roughly 35 minutes prior to them closing. There were 2 tables out of roughly 12 outside that were taken up by people eating. We went to the host stand and attempted to sit outside (a party of 2) and we were told that the restaurant was not taking any more tables due to a waitlist of 10. Mind you, none of the 10 on the waitlist wanted to sit outside. We talked to 2 hosts, and a shift manager and neither wanted to attempt to allow us to sit outside. The head manager in charge would not come out to talk to us due to "cooking" and them being behind on orders. The restaurant didn't want our business and was far too worried about being done at their closing time of 2:00 pm to do what is right by paying customers. Working in a restaurant before, you serve people right up until the doors close whether they walk in a minute before close or 30 minutes prior to closing. Also a complete lack of class on the head manager for hiding in the kitchen. If you make a decision come out and talk to someone about the decision you made. At the very end, as a last ditch effort, the shift manager had offered to take our order but portrayed it as quite a burden for her to do so. At this point we were on our way out of the door and her poor attempt at salvaging anything was unwelcome. We've ate here many times since they opened and this experience has assured that we will never go back. We will make the drive to morrisville or cary from this moment forward. read more

Kids loved it. We thought it was okay. They gave my husband ground sausage when he asked for Chorizo (that was weird). Also, they suggested we have drinks to go and we decided to take some coffees for the road, but the served them in Stryrofoam cups that had tops for straws. We should have declined them, but we were in a hurry. No one should serve coffee in styrofoam cups these days---the chemicals from the cup leach into the coffee and make it toxic! read more

Disclaimer: I've been living in Chicago for a few years so my expectations for good food is definitely up there. The decision was between IHOP and this place. IHOP is definitely not a fave of mine either, but I think it would have been better than this place. We chose Broken Egg be/c they were close to the mall and we were trying to make a midday movie. So, they get a thumbs up for service that was reasonably fast but thumbs down be/c the service felt very disjointed. It seems 2 people were running around doing all the work. I chalked it up that maybe the place is new and didn't know how to staff for the post holiday rush. The real reason for 2 stars.... the food was just not that good. Anytime I'm eating and thinking that these calories really are not worth it, then that's a bad sign. I had the Floridian omelet - garlic sautéed crab was bland, the cream cheese inside was decent, just not much flavor. Mom had the other special omelette with chorizo... and was not that impressed. I know my chorizo and the overall flavor was ok, but not very chorizo-ish. My niece had the best tasting omelette... I think the supreme with bacon and sausage... but how can you mess up bacon and sausage. Pancakes were decent, not superb. I would not choose to go back here, but would if forced to go along with a group decision. Disappointed. read more

While I have not been to this location, they recently brought in bananas foster bread pudding to an event for everyone to sample. I was really skeptical because while I enjoy bananas plain, once they are mixed in with any food, I am not a fan. Once the representative told me it was bananas foster, I decided to just get a sample for my husband who loves any and all things bananas. He convinced me to try it and I am really glad he did! I could not taste the bananas at all (which was great for me... And usually I'm the person who has to pack my banana in my lunch bag separately because if not all the food has the faint smell/taste of banana). This dish tastes like a bunch of moist French toast with maple syrup and whipped cream. SO GOOD. It also was really nice that they gave us generous sample sizes (I hope they are follow this same philosophy on their full sized menu at the restaurant). I highly recommend this dish! read more

First let me admit that I am very particular about my breakfast. While it is my favorite meal of the day, it's hard to beat my own cooking. I've been here a number of times and each time I order something different. Today I had the Bacquezo for the first time. Cream cheese and bacon filled with chorizo, monterey jack cheese and green onions. I had it with a side of grits and biscuit. Okay, so the omelet was slightly dry. You have to be careful with an omelet that has so much meat even when you are doing a cream cheese. It also lacked seasoning even though it had all of those strong flavored meats. The grits had too many lumps in it but I ate around it. The biscuit had the look of homemade but it too lacked taste. The service was good, the place was clean and it came hot. The other good thing, when I checked in here through YELP, I got a free cinnamon roll that was the tastiest of all. I would come again and try something else yet again. read more

My first meal at this chain. Average at best! Slowwwww service. Waited about 15 minutes before someone came to stop by and acknowledge I'd been seated. Waitress was nice enough but brought my drink, took my order and brought my food. Didn't check on me. Another passing waitress noticed I was done and had my purse out to pay. This was my second time dining here and I should have reviewed it the first time as that time it would've gotten 5 stars. The first time is was delicious. Service was great, food was hot, atmosphere was inviting. This time the atmosphere was great but everything else was "meh". We started with beignets that we lukewarm as best, edible but not at all like the first time where they we were hot and fresh. For breakfast we had the cavallo Benedict and the supreme omelet. Both dishes were lukewarm. The only think hot was the egg on the Benedict. Service was ok. she was covering multiple tables and was doing her best so that I'll chalk up to a busy morning. This was my worst experience at another broken egg at any location on the East Coast. I've been coming to this location for several years because the food was good and the service was even better. Daniel was the best waiter I'd ever had at a breakfast location. He has obviously left and it's obvious why. I sat at the bar today and the bartender/waitress was horrible she ignored me most of the time. At one point I sat for 10 to 15 minutes without coffee. When my food finally came I asked for some additional condiments. It took them another 10 to 15 minutes to bring it. At that point, I was already half to 3/4 of the way through my meal. When she eventually brought me the check, I paid for my meal and she never thanked me for coming. So I just walked out. There are too many other choices in town for breakfast. I won't be going back until they build another one in town that has better service. read more
