The food here is absolutely delicious!!! However, once it gets to 12:00 PM on Sundays, the service and organization go out the window! 5 stars are the food! 2 stars on the service/organization read more

Great spot for breakfast/brunch, but get there 30-40 minutes before you want to eat. The wait is always long, as is the wait after you put in your order. The food itself is delicious. I usually get the Lakeshore Scramble. It is a huge portion that I can never finish. Good coffee, but if you order a latte or mocha, be ready to wait. read more

This is a great place for brunch, lunch or breakfast too. Absolutely delicious food, service is great with a distinct southern hospitality and still keeps its California charm. read more

Love this place hands down. It gets busy so be prepared to call ahead. Food is always fresh and service is always nice.

I was originally very excited to try the restaurant-I heard great things about it. So I decided to go on a Sunday morning when I had friends in town. I thought it would be a great sweet treat for my guest and me. I called to see if I could make a reservation they said they don't do reservations but do call ins the gentleman on the phone asked for a name phone number and amount of people in my party I provided him with this information and he told me they would give me a call when my table was available. An hour later my guest and me show up to the restaurant still have yet to receive a call. I go to the desk to find an employee standing that meets the description of a large dirty blonde short hair-short trimmed beard- 40 year old man to ask him where we are in line. He scrolls on his tablet and the conversation goes as follows and his tone is short and full of attitude the whole time Me- "I called an hour ago I hope it's there". ABE employee- "If you don't let us know within 30 mins of calling that you have arrived you get taken of the list". Me-"No one told me that on the phone and I've never been here before" ABE employee- *scrolls on tablet Me-"well how long is the wait now" ABE employee- "hold on" -- "okay you are back on the list" *looks at me confused as to why I'm still standing in front of him Me-"How long is the wait now"? ABE employee-"5-10 minutes". Goes to wait outside with my party 15 minutes later *Same ABE employee is at front desk* Me-"I just wanted to make sure you have my right phone number" ABE employee- "We have xxx-xxx-3134" Me- "My phone number is xxx-xxx-6134" ABE employee- "Well now everything makes sense" in condescending tone ABE employee-"It doesn't matter I was just about to call you - your table is ready" Me-"Oh perfect, Also our party has changed from 3 to 4" ABE employee- "WELL ARNT YOU A BUNDLE OF FUN TODAY" in snarky tone Me-"You are too" ABE employee-"Between giving us the wrong number and then the wrong party count you are a bundle of fun" Conversation is ended with this employee as we sit at the table and wait for our server. My guest and me including other guest in Resturant surrounding us listening to this conversation were appalled. Maybe he felt like he could speak to me like this because he guessed I was way younger ,which many do, but little does he know I'm in my late 20's and a manager at a luxury hotel nearby. He should have confirmed my phone number when I called. He should have informed me that I need to come within 30 mins to secure the call in and they would later call me after I have arrived to let me know my table was ready. He should have apologized when I arrived for being misinformed and for the inconvenience because the customer is always right. Most of all he should have NEVER spoken to me the way he did it was rude and ruined the rest of my experience at Another Broken Egg Cafe. If anyone asks where they should go for brunch I will tell them specifically not to go here. read more

I've eaten here several times. The kitchen is always backed up on Sundays. Today, hostess was extremely rude and therefore I decided to not eat at this location. read more

Went to have brunch this morning for my sons birthday and overall the experience was... interesting. We called ahead to be placed on the wait list and were told that because the size of our group that we would have to sit at two separate tables due to the COVID social distancing rule. Okay cool, not a big deal, we can still be close enough to each other to be able to have a nice time. When we arrived the hostess was extremely aggressive while explaining to us that we would not be able to sit together and slammed 3 sets of silverware down on the table and said "you guys figure it out" before walking away. It was honestly the most bewildering encounter I've ever had at a restaurant in my life. That being said, our waitress Halley was AWESOME. Super polite, attentive, and just overall a nice person. The food and drinks were great, but Halley definitely salvaged our visit here today. Also, be careful looking around the place because if you look too long at the coffee mugs for sale the hostess will come confront you for staring at her. Bless her heart. read more

Amazing experience! The strawberry mimosas are delicious! Also the shrimp & grits or the biscuits and gravy are great choices!

I cannot rate the food because after 35 minutes we had still not received our food. Simple order of pancakes, bacon and yogurt and granola. At 20-25 minutes of waiting I brought this to our waiters attention. After speaking with his manager he came back with no answers but promised it was on the grill. I can't even explain the debacle of the managers attempt at bringing out the biscuit beignets we ordered. We never saw them. When our waiter brought out a tray full of food and served the table behind us (who sat down after us) we got up and left. The slowest most incompetent service I have ever received. Get it together people. read more

This was our first visit to Raleigh NC and this restaurant on a Sunday morning. Very friendly staff. Since it was our first visit, our waiter gave us a complimentary order of beignets which were delicious. Everyone was very pleased with their food. I had the crabcake benedict which was absolutely delicious. We would definitely eat here again and can't wait for my next visit to Raleigh. Great place and great food. read more

Choices for breakfast places are slim in Raleigh, so we tried this place. Hostess was super welcoming and got sat within 20 minutes of arrival, which was right on time of wait time given. Service was fine. The food was disappointing. Got a bowl of fruit with watermelon and blueberries. All watermelon pieces had seeds still and every blueberry had stems attached. Spent about 10 minutes de-seeding all my fruit :( Got eggs over easy, cooked as ordered. Nothing extraordinary, service was ok, food wasn't that great, wait time wasn't bad. read more

Me and my friend decided to try this place, we work in a nearby office. We placed our order and waited almost 40 min and nothing ( they were only two more tables with customers), we have only one hour lunch, and our order was so simple, my friends a chicken sandwich and mine a toast and a sweet sausage, another table that comes after us get their food when we were leaving. They didn't apologize and they even charged my friend for the apple juice, they didn't charge me because I order a glass of water. Terrible customer service.... awful experience.... stay away from this place read more

Food was eggcellent (haha excellent) and unique choices. They were out of a few items but the taste made up for it. Would definitely go back. read more

As I approached the restaurant, hostess opened door to greet me - really appreciated the friendliness which the waitress continued. Upon learning it was my first time, she offered a complementary order of beignets. She then offered to substitute a fruit bowl when I told her I do not eat sugar. Decor is bright, cheery & comfy. Food is good - not best, not the worse (had the Floridian, a signature dish, which was flavorful). Grits were creamy and smooth. Only downside, which is a personal preference is my food came out warm and not HOT as I like it. Cheese on my omelet had already hardened. As it was a Monday morning the restaurant was nearly empty, and my food came out very fast (which was a nice bonus). Finally, I had to wait a bit when I was done eating before my waitress approached again, although she brought the check with her when she came, which I appreciated. A very pleasant experience - I would come again. Next time I plan to state when I order that I want my food to come out hot. I would give 3.5-4 out of 5. P.S. I showed this review to the manager before I left. He made some comments about staff hanging out during down time, and confirmed that the food came out fast and that I like the grits. He then came back over and shared about not being able to plan a dinner with his friends because they were on the road. It struck me as unprofessional, especially since he did not address my concern about the food temperature. Fortunately this attitude was not reflected by the staff, which continued to practice generosity of spirit. I would give the staff a 5; the management a 2 and the food a 3.5 (would be higher if the food was hot). read more

Hands down the best breakfast/brunch in town. Daniel and the rest of the staff were courteous, fast, and professional. I had the King Edward Club which was excellent, paired with a latte and warm chocolate muffin. Highly recommend! read more

The food was great. If you get pancakes please put the syrup on your hot cakes yourself because the servers drown your hot cakes in syrup and your hot cakes comes to you soggy. Other than that, good food!! read more

First, I have to warn you ... this place gets PACKED on the weekends. If you aren't strolling in by 9:30, you should expect to wait. A while. Waiting for brunch - battling a hangover and counting down the seconds until you can order up a bloody Mary as a little hair of the dog - is part of the whole weekend warrior experience, so know what you're getting into beforehand. The food is solid with typical brunch fare, but service can be a little bit slow. The overall experience is very comfortable, offering an upgrade for the diner loving crew who doesn't want to eat in ... well ... a typical diner. This place is best when you can sit outside on a warm morning because the restaurant gets drafty in the cooler months with all the in and out traffic. read more

Our party of four were up for some brunch and found Another Broken Egg Cafe. The reviews were decent and I haven't tried this before. No wait and everything look good on the menu. I couldn't decided what I wanted. I was torn between the Crabcakes Cavallo or the Southern Crabstack. I decided to get the Southern Crabstack. My friends had a tough time deciding what they wanted also. Our drinks arrived quickly but our food took forever. We waited for about 30 minutes. Then our waitress came by and told us that the computer "malfunctioned" and our order was missing. So we had to repeat again what each of us wanted. To make for it, she gave us free appetizer of biscuit beignets and our drinks were comped. When we finally received our food, I thought the Southern Crabstack was just okay. The grits cake /crab cake was dry and lacked seasoning. The toast and shrimp that came with it was decent. My friends thought their meals were just okay as well. When it came to our bill, it took forever to get even after flagging her down. I did notice that our waitress was stretched a little bit too thin. Our meal experience took over 2 hours which was a tad too long for brunch. read more

I rate this place one star. The brie and lobster omelett was dry and not fluffy and light as expected from a restaurant specializing on breakfast, omelettes etc. the 40 minute wait was definitely not worth it. Also, the restrooms were worn and not clean. read more

Denied access because of disability. Apparently a party of one is only allowed to dine at the bar, even after disclosing that I have a disability and could not sit at the bar in that type of seating arrangement. I now know not to attempt to dine here in the future and hope others with disabilities avoid this place and spare themselves the hassles and insult. read more

My family and I came here on a Sunday for brunch. Obviously a place like this will get crowded quickly and we did have to wait. But the people up front were trying their best to get everyone seated as soon as possible. Once we were seated and got our food, everything was delicious! I highly recommend an omelette from here. I'd go back but I would just make sure that I try to get there earlier. read more

Used the waiting list feature on Yelp, which said 1040, got seated at 1120, then had to wait 5 minutes for a server

I will never, ever eat at this restaurant again. Terrible food, mediocre service. When you basically do one thing, please do it well. Worst breakfast in Raleigh. Would rather eat at Mickey D's. read more

Disclaimer: I've been living in Chicago for a few years so my expectations for good food is definitely up there. The decision was between IHOP and this place. IHOP is definitely not a fave of mine either, but I think it would have been better than this place. We chose Broken Egg be/c they were close to the mall and we were trying to make a midday movie. So, they get a thumbs up for service that was reasonably fast but thumbs down be/c the service felt very disjointed. It seems 2 people were running around doing all the work. I chalked it up that maybe the place is new and didn't know how to staff for the post holiday rush. The real reason for 2 stars.... the food was just not that good. Anytime I'm eating and thinking that these calories really are not worth it, then that's a bad sign. I had the Floridian omelet - garlic sautéed crab was bland, the cream cheese inside was decent, just not much flavor. Mom had the other special omelette with chorizo... and was not that impressed. I know my chorizo and the overall flavor was ok, but not very chorizo-ish. My niece had the best tasting omelette... I think the supreme with bacon and sausage... but how can you mess up bacon and sausage. Pancakes were decent, not superb. I would not choose to go back here, but would if forced to go along with a group decision. Disappointed. read more

While I have not been to this location, they recently brought in bananas foster bread pudding to an event for everyone to sample. I was really skeptical because while I enjoy bananas plain, once they are mixed in with any food, I am not a fan. Once the representative told me it was bananas foster, I decided to just get a sample for my husband who loves any and all things bananas. He convinced me to try it and I am really glad he did! I could not taste the bananas at all (which was great for me... And usually I'm the person who has to pack my banana in my lunch bag separately because if not all the food has the faint smell/taste of banana). This dish tastes like a bunch of moist French toast with maple syrup and whipped cream. SO GOOD. It also was really nice that they gave us generous sample sizes (I hope they are follow this same philosophy on their full sized menu at the restaurant). I highly recommend this dish! read more

I have been coming to Another Broken Egg for a while and have actually left a good review before, but the experiences I've had lately have led me to writing this review. For the past few months now I have noticed that the hostess has looked like they seriously hate their job. They look like they aren't happy to be here and don't greet guests. The food has also been inconsistent, there's always something that I don't end up eating because it comes out wrong. Usually whatever waitress we get doesn't come around to ask how our meal until we are almost finished with our food. We did not see our waitress for almost 40 mins after she took our order, we got one refill the entire time, and my egg was not cooked the way I asked (which by the time she came around it was too late for me to ask for it to be corrected so I left it). The only time the waitress was quick was to get our check paid for. I am very disappointed on my service the past few times I have been here, I'm not sure if it is new management or what. read more

Went to Another Broken Egg in North Hills Sunday. Arrived at the location at 1:27 pm, roughly 35 minutes prior to them closing. There were 2 tables out of roughly 12 outside that were taken up by people eating. We went to the host stand and attempted to sit outside (a party of 2) and we were told that the restaurant was not taking any more tables due to a waitlist of 10. Mind you, none of the 10 on the waitlist wanted to sit outside. We talked to 2 hosts, and a shift manager and neither wanted to attempt to allow us to sit outside. The head manager in charge would not come out to talk to us due to "cooking" and them being behind on orders. The restaurant didn't want our business and was far too worried about being done at their closing time of 2:00 pm to do what is right by paying customers. Working in a restaurant before, you serve people right up until the doors close whether they walk in a minute before close or 30 minutes prior to closing. Also a complete lack of class on the head manager for hiding in the kitchen. If you make a decision come out and talk to someone about the decision you made. At the very end, as a last ditch effort, the shift manager had offered to take our order but portrayed it as quite a burden for her to do so. At this point we were on our way out of the door and her poor attempt at salvaging anything was unwelcome. We've ate here many times since they opened and this experience has assured that we will never go back. We will make the drive to morrisville or cary from this moment forward. read more

First let me admit that I am very particular about my breakfast. While it is my favorite meal of the day, it's hard to beat my own cooking. I've been here a number of times and each time I order something different. Today I had the Bacquezo for the first time. Cream cheese and bacon filled with chorizo, monterey jack cheese and green onions. I had it with a side of grits and biscuit. Okay, so the omelet was slightly dry. You have to be careful with an omelet that has so much meat even when you are doing a cream cheese. It also lacked seasoning even though it had all of those strong flavored meats. The grits had too many lumps in it but I ate around it. The biscuit had the look of homemade but it too lacked taste. The service was good, the place was clean and it came hot. The other good thing, when I checked in here through YELP, I got a free cinnamon roll that was the tastiest of all. I would come again and try something else yet again. read more

Kids loved it. We thought it was okay. They gave my husband ground sausage when he asked for Chorizo (that was weird). Also, they suggested we have drinks to go and we decided to take some coffees for the road, but the served them in Stryrofoam cups that had tops for straws. We should have declined them, but we were in a hurry. No one should serve coffee in styrofoam cups these days---the chemicals from the cup leach into the coffee and make it toxic! read more

My first meal at this chain. Average at best! Slowwwww service. Waited about 15 minutes before someone came to stop by and acknowledge I'd been seated. This was my second time dining here and I should have reviewed it the first time as that time it would've gotten 5 stars. The first time is was delicious. Service was great, food was hot, atmosphere was inviting. This time the atmosphere was great but everything else was "meh". We started with beignets that we lukewarm as best, edible but not at all like the first time where they we were hot and fresh. For breakfast we had the cavallo Benedict and the supreme omelet. Both dishes were lukewarm. The only think hot was the egg on the Benedict. Service was ok. she was covering multiple tables and was doing her best so that I'll chalk up to a busy morning. Parking in this location on the weekends is almost nonexistent. You can expect to wait 30 to 45 minutes for a table as well

Eggs dry, meat overcooked. Pancakes okay. Could not get a coffee refill. Not a place I'd return to. Don't understand the wait...for that?
