I've lived in the area for a while now and noticed this spot is usually busy. So I finally decided to try it. Meh.... I don't know why this place is busy. I assume it's the location, not many other choices in the area. I ordered an omelette with buttered toast and potatoes. The potatoes had no seasoning, the omelette was average at best (they are pretty frugal with the sausage and bacon), and the toast came dry, no butter. I asked my waitress for butter, but when she brought out the little pats of butter, I could not use them because they were solid cold and so was the toast. The butter wasn't going to melt. Rather than complain while eating, I just ate the omelette and decided to give my honest feedback here. Not sure I will return. read more

My friend and I ate here today for breakfast and it was good. I had the blueberry, lemon and goat cheese pancakes with house sausage and scrambled eggs. We also had biscuit beignets which were okay but I prefer original light and airy version. The staff was nice and food came fairly quickly. Love this place! The service was super friendly too! I got the egg scramble with spinach and bacon and boy was it perfect. The breakfast potatoes were browned perfectly and the biscuit was hugeeeee. I love the gravy, it is not just plain old boring gravy. It has a little something to it that makes it absolutely delicious. The chicken biscuit sandwich was soooo yummy! I absolutely positively love this place! I have become a regular now because the food is so delicious. The place is always pumping now; so I'm sure there will be a wait time. I went on Yelp and added us to the waitlist before even arriving there. When I got there we still had to wait, but not too long. The strawberry mimosa's are my favorite. I'm definitely in love with the shrimp and grits, but got something different this time. Although they were extremely busy, our waitress did everything to make sure our visit was pleasant in every way. They followed Covid-19 protocols as well and yes you have to wear a mask in the facility(like we haven't done this an entire year already). I'm sure you'll enjoy the food. read more

First time dining here and I'm impressed! They were able to accommodate our group of 9. Emma our waitress was extremely attentive, prompt, patient and helpful. I ordered the crab cake Benedict with grits and it was delicious! I recently got my tonsils removed so this was my first real meal after surgery and it did not disappoint! Found this place when I was looking for a spot to grab a late breakfast. I took a chance based on the reviews and I'm glad that I did. I ordered the shrimp & grits which I hardly ever do because some can be too tomato-y but these were great. The base was flavorful and the shrimp were tender and sweet like they should be. I did take out so I can't speak to service much but the hostess was very friendly and greeted me with a smile. I'm looking forward to trying more menu items. read more

I took my wife to brunch and had a great time here. The food was great, the server (Jaden) did an excellent job. Great young man in college working on weekends traveling back and forth to school, very professional. I have been going to this restaurant since 2016 and when my schedule would allow, I'd go twice a week. First and foremost, let's talk about the food. Oh, the food! I've been hooked on a dish that was on the menu when I first started going and even though it has been taken off, they continue to prepare it for me. I really appreciate that! More than anything... what truly sets this restaurant is the service. It's truly above 5 stars. I sit at the bar and the friendliness of the staff blows my mind. It is for sure unparalleled. Their professionalism and friendliness create a welcoming atmosphere that makes me feel right at home every time. Kudos to the entire team for their outstanding service! This is my first time here and it was so delicious!!! I got the shrimp and grits and my friend got the supreme omelet, which is tasted. No complaints. We got mimosas. I got a mango kiwi one and my friend got a lemon blueberry one. They were both good as well. The food did not take long to come out at all. Our waitress, Michelle, was very nice and friendly. I used the yelp app to get in line before we left. This worked out perfectly, as we only had to wait for a table for 5 minutes on a Sunday around 12:30, when it was very busy. Chicken and waffles and pancake trio were a high recommendation. I felt my egg dish, the spinach bacon one, was on the small side, especially compared to my friends dishes at the table. The salmon salad was a HUGE portion, salmon needed some seasoning. Server was nice to our faces but we caught him rolling his eyes or shaking his head at us as he left the table after we requested a gluten free menu or lemons. While waiting for my car at the AAA across the shopping plaza, I headed here for a late breakfast. Not too busy when I arrived, I had no idea that people were waiting when I left. My waitress did not seem to mind that I sat for an extra bit with my laptop (free wifi!) while drinking a third cup of coffee. I chose the huevos rancheros for brekkie, after I'd already enjoyed a half order of their beignets. The beignets were tasty (covered in powdered sugar) and still hot, but a little too hard for my taste. Not light at all. The eggs arrived shortly after. Properly cooked and with the usual black beans and spicy cheese and salsa, on top of two grilled tortillas. I found the tortillas to be way too hard from being grilled, so after fighting with them and a knife, I opted to slide them out and ignore them. The home fried potatoes mixed into the eggs and beans and salsa were excellent and I enjoyed the rest of my meal. Great service from Emma and a good meal. read more

We visited on Sunday as a family outing. We arrived at 10:10, got our sets and order in by 10:20. 10:35 came around and my youngest (1 year old) lost interest in all the distractions offered, so I took him and my oldest to walk around outside, thinking no more than 5 more minutes. I kept checking in with my husband through the window and still our food had not been served. Then I took the boys to potty, wash hands, and returned by 10:45 and still no food. My husband explained the waitress said there were 2 other checks before us and there was only one waffle maker. I stood there holding my one year old for another 2-3 minutes before our food came out. She came out apologizing and telling me the same thing but by that time I was done with the excuses and blatant lies. Then the deflection that it was Sunday. While standing there, a group of women who arrived 5 minutes after we did, received their order and had already started eating their meals before we even received ours. Here's the kicker. One woman in that group ordered my exact meal which was being blamed for ours food lateness. When the manager came to try and resolve the issue, he only add injury to the insult by calling us a lair. That we had not been there 40 minutes and again with the 1 waffle maker. When he said that, I told him to look at the table beside us and explained they came in and ordered after us. They have their food and she has my same meal. He stubbled over his next words. Because that was no longer an excuse for them. They could not explain why they got four meals that included my same meal before us while we had 2 adult meals and 1 kids meal. When my husband expressed his dislike of his current meal because it was salty, the manager try to say they don't salt their meals, okay... but that did not negate the fact my husband wasn't liking his meal. But after the confrontation and their lie being exposed, he finally said he would take off that meal and give a discount for his next meal and our experience. He came over with no intention of correcting the mistake but to keep the lie going. Here's the kicker, we aren't unreasonable people. Had our ticket been forgotten, or lost... and the upfront honesty and even the compensation of offering a discount in the first place... we would have tipped more and left with feeling like our experience was addressed appropriately. But that is not the case and we will not be visiting this location again. I've worked in the restaurant industry before and know mishaps happen but this was far from great customer experience especially being called a lair multiple times by the manager. read more

Glad we came when we did because mid-way through (around 9:30am), there was a much longer wait. Michelle, our server, was kind, patient and helpful. You're offered doughnuts and beignets for the table when you're seated. We had to pass today but we won't next time. Being a lover of seafood, I was excited to see a lobster and Brie omelet and had to try it. I was not disappointed. Large pieces of sweet lobster were on top of my omelet filled with Brie. Delicious lobster in every bit. I did order mine without tomatoes and onions because we were heading to church. You can either choose potatoes or grits for a side and I selected potatoes. The omelet also comes with an English muffin. My only complaint is that my omelet was cooked a tad bit overdone but it was still very good. Hubby had an omelet and our sons had pancakes. Everyone was happy. Be warned: the pancakes are rather large. Our ten-year-old orders from the adult menu and two pancakes were more than enough. I came from out of town (Atlanta) to grab some breakfast with friends. I always order the same entree, Lobster & Brie Omlette. They brought out the omelette with NO lobster sauce (not to mention the lobster meat looked DRY). When I informed the waitress that my order looked incorrect she told me that's how it's supposed to be prepared. I had to GOOGLE a picture of the accurate dish. She responded "oh you want lobster sauce" The horrible experience doesn't end there. One of my friends found HAIR in her food!!! We've been to another Another Broken Egg restaurant in California and loved it. We were really looking forward to trying this one in Ballantyne. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. The service was almost non-existent, they got our order wrong, and the coffee was not only outrageously expensive, it was bitter. ($3.69 would have got me a nice cup of regular joe at a coffee shop!) they've also altered the menu. The Quinoa bowl is gone, as is the cinnamon roll. They said they could still do the cinnamon roll, so kudos for trying, but it doesn't have the same fluffy gooey mess it used to. Had breakfast there on Wednesday August 11th. Waited at the bar for almost 5 minutes before somebody waited on me. There were at least 8 or 9 waiters there. My waitress seemed to be complaining to the other girls about some problem. My order was up,but she walked by it 3 times. I finally asked another waitress to get it for me. She said it wasn't my order! It was! I said that's my order check the slip. It was mine. Some girl said she was sorry for the delay, but they are shorthanded. The waitress rarely smiled and I mentioned this to the manager and she commented "she's been here for 6 years and I consider her the best". For starters: Cute restaurant. Lots of things on the menu look delicious. Parking was plentiful and we got sat right away in a booth for breakfast on a Wednesday morning. I had the peach cobbler pancake and it was so good. The grits were served hot, in a large portion sized cup and were also super good. Con: I accidentally ordered the Huevos Rancheros over the Southwestern scramble because I was looking at both on the menu. When it came out I wasn't a fan at all and sent it back to trade for the scramble. I don't eat meat so when I ordered the first time I said no chorizo. The second time I assumed the waitress would remember no meat but when it came out it had chorizo scrambled in to it with no way to pick it out. I didn't want to send the dish back again and be a pain so I just didn't eat it. My friend ended up packing it to go. We were greeted and seated right away. I ordered the Carnitas Benedict. It comes with shredded pork (FYI). Topped with green chili sauce and poached eggs, all over a Cheddar Jack cheese and green onion cornbread. Served with grits or fresh country potatoes. I chose to upgrade my grits to the city grits. When the plate arrived at my table, it looked very tossed together. So if you're looking for an Instagramable post, you might miss out. Nevertheless, the flavor made up for the less than perfect presentation. The pork was savory and juicy and don't get me started in the city grits! What's Sunday brunch without mimosas? It was the perfect meal and our hostess was fast on her feet and remembered everything about our order including my sugar free syrup! This place gets crowded early. Went here for breakfast at about 9am on a Saturday and there was no wait and we were immediately seated. They have regular indoor seating, bar seating, and it looked like outdoor seating as well. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted. Was having a serious battle between sweet and savory. They had bananas foster pancakes, cinnamon roll french toast, biscuits, and even sandwiches to name a few. I got the biscuits and gravy per recommendation of my friend I was with who had been here before. I also got potatoes and sausage patties as my side. For my drink I had an apple cider mimosa I thought the biscuits and gravy was delicious. The biscuit was super soft and the gravy was thick. The sausage patties had so much flavor to them and you could tell they were formed from scratch. I thought the potatoes had a nice crispiness to them. I am only deducting a star because our waitress wasn't that attentive in my personal opinion. Other than that I will definitely find my way back and I recommend them. read more
