I stopped by to get lunch and use my gift of birthday pancakes. I was seated right away. I wanted the mardi gras omelet, but the server apologized and said they didn't have shrimp. I ordered the traditional day starter with scrambled eggs, country potatoes, the house made sausage patty, the strawberry lemonade spritzer, and my birthday pancakes. I showed the server my email and she said she'd get it later. The portion size was good. I enjoyed the flavor of the sausage. By the time I was halfway finished eating and hadn't received the pancakes yet, I figured I'd just get them to go. When the server came back to the table, I asked if I could get the pancakes to go. She apologized; she hadn't put the order in. When the check came, I was charged for the pancakes. I reminded the server of my email. She asked for the barcode. I scrolled from top to bottom, and there was no barcode. The email specifically stated to "please show this email to your server prior to ordering." The server seemed flustered when I showed her that the email didn't have a barcode. She walked away and eventually came back with the corrected check. After several not so great service and wait times here we have decided we are never coming back. Although the food is generally good, the wait times are ridiculous when there are plenty of tables open. Obviously this location (Flowood) needs more servers and table bussers. I was visiting Charlotte, NC, and decided to have breakfast here. I've eaten at another location in the state where I live, so I'm familiar with ABEC. When I came in, I noticed the atmosphere was typical. I was greeted warmly and immediately seated. My server, "Eloisa F," greeted me and took my food and drink order, which consisted of buttermilk pancakes, eggs, grits, chicken sausage, and orange juice. I enjoyed my food, except for the chicken sausage. I'm not saying it was nasty, but it wasn't for me. The one thing I would say I had an issue with was that Eloisa was always MIA. Terrible. We ordered to-go brunch and it was awful. I ordered Lemon Blueberry Goat Cheese Pancakes, which comes with eggs and bacon. The bacon was undercooked, the eggs tasted like dirt and the pancakes.... Absolutely awful. See picture for reference. I completely understand to-go food isn't going to be as good as if you were dining in, however, making sure all the ingredients are there and there is actually a lemon flavor, that would've been great. Oh and the goat cheese, not fresh whatsoever, it's the precrumbled cheap stuff you get from the cheapest part of the grocery store. Definitely won't be back here. This is my first time trying another broken egg. Below are some notes to help you determine if this is a place that you like to try: They take reservations from Yelp or you can come in and make one. It seems almost days there's a wait. There is plenty of parking in the shared parking area. They offer beignets as a starter which is a tasty treat especially silly when your hungry. If you are attempting to practice social distancing this is not the place for you. It can get crowded. The service that I experienced from the waitress was pretty good, however this could vary based on your server and a time that you come. The hostess team was basic. The shrimp and grits were OK and didn't sit right on my tummy. The waitress recommended the shrimp and grits. The mimosa was super sweet. The portion size was good and my food arrived warm. I was here for the first time a few weeks ago. We stopped in on Saturday mid-morning. We were told the wait would be around 45 min but it ended up being more like 25-30 min, which was a pleasant surprise. Our waiter was kind and attentive. I ordered an omelet with shrimp and crawfish (also andouille sausage but I didn't get it in mine) with a tomato hollandaise. I forgot what my friend ordered, but I tasted it and it was good! My best friend wanted to come here for brunch. There was about a 15min wait which wasn't bad. The menu has so many wonderful options, it was hard to choose! I got the madi Gras omelette with grits. Truly OK. Very standard breakfast and lunch menu. Reasonable prices, good service. Pretty sterile, plain, hard interior. I am always chilled, so bring a sweater or jacket. They offer hashbrowns that are not. They are those chunks of fried potato. I do not care for them, at all. Portions are routinely conservative. Omelets are, to me, rather small, same with sides. But today... let me tell you they make a mean dish of Shrimp n' Grits!!!!!!! The marriage of Shrimp, Andouille Sausage, Cheddar Cheese, and Green Onion , was a party on my tongue. Worst service I have ever experienced. I wanted to try the brunch menu, that looked delicious in the website. We are a family of 6, first problem. The young guy in the entrance said we had to wait 10/15 min to free a 6 ppl table. The restaurant was 75% empty but they couldn't join tables! I said that we could split in 2 tables as long as we were moved to a larger table after, he said no. We had to stay split. Zero interest to collaborate with the client. After 10 min magically an older waiter could join tables. The waiter brought only food menus, when I asked for drinks he brought only 1 menu! My 4 yo son wanted warm milk, they said no way to warm it up, only cold! (What???? In a brunch restaurant???) my daughter was brought the wrong mocktail, my husband asked for vanilla iced coffee without the cream, he was brought a hot coffee and one potato side was changed for fruit . Being a national chain it's obvious that the company focus the training in following procedures instead of delighting the client. Very narrow minded. I've lived in the area for a while now and noticed this spot is usually busy. So I finally decided to try it. Meh.... I don't know why this place is busy. I assume it's the location, not many other choices in the area. I ordered an omelette with buttered toast and potatoes. The potatoes had no seasoning, the omelette was average at best (they are pretty frugal with the sausage and bacon), and the toast came dry, no butter. I asked my waitress for butter, but when she brought out the little pats of butter, I could not use them because they were solid cold and so was the toast. The butter wasn't going to melt. Rather than complain while eating, I just ate the omelette and decided to give my honest feedback here. Not sure I will return. read more

Love this place! The service was super friendly too! I got the egg scramble with spinach and bacon and boy was it perfect. The breakfast potatoes were browned perfectly and the biscuit was hugeeeee.
