Nice Waffle House restaurant out in the Pineville area of Charlotte NC. I'd never been to Waffle House, so this was an adventure for me. It was really more diner than restaurant. Organized around a long counter with a number of stools where one can eat, there were a dozen or more tables ringing the room. They move you in and they move you out ... this diner knows how to turn tables. After we ordered, the waitress pretty much just yelled the order to the cook line fronting the open kitchen. The cook staff was five people strong ... and they could sling the food out ... although it sometimes arrived tepid instead of hot. And other times, a different waitstaff person would grab your grub instead of the correct one so you'd be served way after your dinner mate was. So on balance, pretty good food served, not always at the best temperature, and not always serving the whole table together. The signature Waffle was a bit on the thin side, but our waitress was a peach, and the coffee was excellent. read more

I had a great experience there on Thanksgiving morning after coming from the airport. Everyone was super friendly and attentive. I enjoyed my bacon, egg and cheese sandwich with my hashbrowns with onions. I always forget Waffle House is here and I plan to come back in the future. It was very clean this date ! read more

Went at 11am on a Saturday. Not too busy. Fantastic service. Very welcoming and great food. Restaurant was very clean

It's less messy than other locations, the new girl (savannah) seems to be more put together than some of the others. The bacon was cooked great and the hash browns were made to order and had a perfect crisp. I only waited 10 minutes from time of order. My waitress Amanda was unamused, could've just been a bad day. Renee checked me out and she was very sweet, checked on me a few times while I was eating. All in all I left pleased, I'd come back. read more

Two visits here so far and two different experiences. The first time, just one waitress covering the whole place and she was way overwhelmed. She was trying hard but needed at least another server. She forgot stuff. She mischarged us. She was well behind on cleaning off dirty tables. But she tried and and we tipped her well. The second time, the restaurant was very busy and I think the servers were staggering orders to allow the cook to keep up. After we arrived and took our seat in the corner, we waited a good 15 minutes before orders were taken. The waitress for this area did a great (not) job of avoiding eye contact for us and the two tables who came in immediately afterwards. Once our order was taken, our breakfast was prepared quickly and arrived over the course of about five minutes with the eggs and grits, omelet, ham, waffle and finally the hash browns. Not great to get things this separated. As well on our second visit, six or seven people standing around and placing/waiting on carry-out orders. I came here late night from hanging out a bit. The place was very busy at the time but we were able to sit right away. The server was very nice and had that southern hospitality. Stopped by Waffle House for a quick breakfast and also introduce my new friend to Waffle House for the first time. It's never a disappointment for me to eat at Waffle House and it was also not a disappointment for my friend after she tried the amazing Sausage Egg Cheese Hashbrown Bowl!! It was super fresh and warm with perfectly cooked eggs and sausages. The hashbrowns were crispy and flavorful. At $7.70 it fills you up and also worth every bite. The cheeseburgers I believe are around $2 a piece and are one of the best cheeseburgers you can get for that price. With $2 you could buy McDonald's or other fast food burgers but at Waffle House, $2 can buy you cheeseburgers that are amazingly tasty and is a million times better than any fast food restaurant. The location here also always has attentive and friendly service. Every time I come by this location the servers are always so friendly it gives a very homey and comfortable vibe. People always seem to give Waffle House a bad rep but honestly it is amazing quality hot/fresh food for a very low price and lovely service. read more

After waiting 20+ minutes to be waited on, we left. They waited on both groups that came in after us. We drove to the next closest Waffle House (Fort Mill) where we bumped into another family that got up and left. Both of us were surprised at the horrible service and how rude the staff was. It's the first time people haven't at least been friendly. The Fort Mill location is worth the drive if you really want Waffle House. I'd avoid the Pineville location. read more

They don't get all 5 stars because the sweet tea was lacking on my visit. You make this tea everyday, don't get lazy on me. Waffle was consistently amazing as Waffle House waffles tend to be. On thé plus side, the hash browns were nice and golden this time with a good amount of crispiness, as opposed to the sometimes sogginess when they're rushing your order. The staff here was also extra friendly in a very snarky Waffle House kind of way. Younger black guy and middle-age to older black lady who was quiet with a lot to say working the night shift were cool to chat with about NY and various topics. Oh yeah, this location felt a lot cleaner than most also. This is south Charlotte so that makes sense. This was a great late night stop-in. read more

I have frequented this location for 16 years. In recent months, I've often had to leave after 20 minutes of sitting and receiving no service or simple acknowledgement. The servers are often approx 70 years old, and unable to keep up with their tables and orders, so be patient and kind, or go somewhere else. The cooks do a good job making the food (it just takes an hour to get it, at times) Overall, it's hard to know what to expect. It could be fine, or you leave after no service. Employees not rude or negligent, just aloof and overwhelmed. It's a bit sad. read more

It's not like you expect a lot from Waffle House, but red haired employee ran into the building after smoking some dank to tell us that they were closed for shift change while chef was still cooking in the back. For what it is, it's pretty darned good. Came here for breakfast with my dad after a walk along the greenway on the 4th of July. It was hot outside but cool inside which is almost surprising given the heat emanating from the grill that takes up almost a quarter of the place. But kudos. I didn't realize it was such a tiny place inside. From the outside (and maybe I didn't look closely ever) it seemed like a decent sized restaurant, let's say with ample seating. But when we went inside we saw that all the tables were taken but luckily they had bar type seating with three open spots and we took two of them. The lady who took our order, Josette, was the nicest and just the embodiment of southern hospitality. And actually every one of the staff members was very cordial. When they were waiting for the food to cook or had a few minutes downtime, they would come over to each table/customer and ask how their food was, how their day was, etc. The only downside I see is having the whole "kitchen" right in front of the customers makes the food experience just a tad unappealing. Today the place is standing room only - it is breakfast hour and the weekend. The aroma of pecan waffles is in the air ... Food is good - I had steak and eggs with grits. Steak is good - don't have High expectations and you won't be disappointed . It's Waffle House ! Clean restaurant with slamming grilled food . Slow server, cool food, burnt bacon. There was one table with patrons with four people and there a full staff of people. The floor was wet however there food on the floor. Table and chairs were wet but I did dry them off. The service snail pace. I have been going to Waffles House over 30 years and this was the worst service and food ever. There was a least 8 people working and 6 people having breakfast. The place is old but I can overlook if the food and service is good. We road trip often and Waffle House is our place eat. Cool grits, burnt bacon, and non efficient staff. The worst ever. Do better. read more

Not happy. A few servers didn't have masks on and the cook didn't have his all the way on. My husband said something and the one server put hers on and they explained the other has asthma. My first waffle house experience, and wow, did it suck. I ordered the all star plate and literally everything was the worst I've ever tasted. Cold toast, cold uncooked hash in the middle, dry grainy sausage patties, and mushy under cooked waffles. "Waffle house" that can't cook waffles baffles me. I have only been to a Waffle House once and that was years ago! My husband said he used to eat here all the time back in the day when he was single. The night we ate here, there was no one in the restaurant eating. Just us two and a few staff members. Service was very quick. The food was ok. I could have made better at home. But this worked because we weren't really in the mood to cook. The place was not super clean. There was random and strange objects left in the restrooms. It just overall wasn't very clean. So that's why there are a few stars taken off. Our server was very friendly and sweet. She did wonderful. Wish I could provide stars for individual employees. She would have gotten 5 stars. This is one of the old school Waffle House's; not one of the new clean ones! Not sure if that's good or bad but who really cares when you're there in the wee hours of the AM?!?! There's probably not a lot to say here because who's never really been to a WH, right? If you haven't then your probably visiting from a foreign country... Any who, the staff here is always friendly and eager to serve. The ham and cheese omelet is fluffy and cooked just right. It's pretty impressive to cook one this well because I've had a few that were as tough as a leather bag. The 'All Star' breakfast is the best deal and guaranteed to add an inch to your waiste or a bad case of late night heartburn. Best joke I ever heard at a Waffle House in college: "What has six boobs and eight teeth?" Answer: "The night shift at the Waffle House!" Enjoy! read more

We ended up here for several reasons. They were pretty much the only place open, we love to eat here and we had just left a comedy show featuring Kevonstage and he always talks about how this is his spot despite the staff and cleanliness. Check out the video he did on this place, hysterical. And of course, just ask Uncle Google and he will locate it for you. So we sat ourselves and I have to say that it was a bit chilly inside which was a bummer but we were greeted very kindly and attended to in a way that we rarely find at a Waffle House. Score for the staff. They were amazing. We ordered our food, me a cheesesteak hash brown bowl with raw onions instead of grilled and I added an over easy egg to go on top. My hubby had a cheesesteak omelet, grits, a biscuit and a waffle. Our food came out in a timely manner, she forgot the waffle but it was made quickly and though I've seen prettier waffles, it was still tasty. His grits were also lukewarm, which I didn't get because grits should always be piping hot. My order was good with the exception of two minor but could be major things. My over easy egg whites weren't all cooked. You have to know how to do over easy eggs where the white is fully cooked and the yolk is still runny. Thankfully my hash browns and steak were hot so I just stirred it all up to "cook" the part that was undone. It worked. Secondly, the raw onions I asked for instead of the grilled that comes with it, were very chunky. Like whoever was on onion chopping duty was having an off day. I love raw onions so the chunkiness didn't take me down. As is standard in many Waffle House restaurants, it was in need of a good sand blasting, bleach filled cleaning. I noticed the 93 score on the wall, but like Kevonstage says, you go into a Waffle House knowing exactly what you're getting in to. Will I return? Yup! That is all! read more

Took my family here for brunch and was a great experience even for the 1st timers who've never eaten here before. I have and always loved it even though it was different location in the past. The staff has great personality and feels like family when you're there. Food was cooked perfectly and the waffles are soo good, actually is a must have when you order. So Christmas eve we ventured out to IHOP for dinner only to discover that it was closed. We headed for waffle house instead. My wife wanted breakfast and I just wanted food. We sat at a booth and had a look at the menu. There was a wide choice of food available. I ordered a waffle, Bert's best chili and all the way homefries. Our waitress Jane was prompt with our drinks. She did tell me that they had to throw away the chili so I ordered a ham & cheese omelet instead. I thought the food was great with the exception of the omelet. They folded the eggs over a hunk of cold cheese. The homefries were delicious. The waffle was cold but filling. My wife didn't like her view of the kitchen and commented that my meal looked like vomit. She kept staring at me in horrified fascination as I cleared my plate. Never again she said! You've been to one Waffle House you've been to them all. Good people work there, the food is really good. I ordered the all star which comes with: A waffle, egg and cheese, bacon, cinnamon raisin toast, hash browns and OJ. The food at these places are aways a little bit greasy but you know thats just some extra lovin from the south. The waitress was a little all over the place, was not much of a fan. However, they were busy which they usually are. I love this place for breakfast though. Every time I am down south I eat at one of these. read more

Our food was good, service not so much. There were 3 of us at the table and only 1 person ordered a waffle with their meal. Our waitress, Renee, brought 3 waffles to the table and I told her we didn't order the additional waffles and she told me "Enjoy it". So I figured she brought the 2 extra waffles to the wrong table and we were getting them on the house. Nope, she charged us for the 2 extra waffles. When she brought the bill, it showed that she marked each of us for a waffle so this wasn't a mistake, it was intentional on her part. Sure a couple of waffles cost less than $10, but we didn't order them and told her so when she brought them to the table. We'll visit Waffle House again, but not this location. read more

We did not show up during the busy time, only a couple booths were occupied, so I'm not sure why it took so long for someone to take our order. Once the waiter did saunter over, pad and pen in hand, he diligently wrote down our order. Not sure what he wrote, but he got both orders wrong; grits instead of hash browns, eggs scrambled instead of over easy. As for refreshing our coffees? He never came by after delivering our food.
