I took my friend here to grab breakfast after picking him up at the airport nearby. I been to this restaurant before like a couple of years ago and I had a great experience. I parked my car at the police station two blocks away since it's free two hours parking. You can try looking for street parking near the restaurant but since it's near a courthouse, it's usually taken. We got seated quick and we started to look at their menu. My friend got their coffee and I tried to order the fanta orange soda but our server came back to tell me they ran out of it. So I went with a coke and for my dish I got the Southern Chicken Sandwich with grilled chicken and fruits for my side. My friend went with the traditional breakfast with two eggs, bacon and potatoes. He tried to order fruits for his side but our waitress said it's an additional cost which she didn't tell me for my dish until I saw the bill. My all time fave is their Lobster & Brie Omellette, this time i ordered the Apple Fritter and Bacquezo Omellette... and it was sumptous! not to forget their coffee in their signature Mug! From their food, fabulous selection of drinks and customer service, it's a combo that anyone would enjoy!The restaurant is so well kept and the seating are is large and specious. We always enjoy coming here. Today after church we decide to sit in their bar area to watch the game and to our surprise the game wasn't being aired on tv. After they tried looking for the game they verified that it wasn't being broadcasted. This food is AVERAGE at best. Very low quality food with premium food prices for no good reason. Nothing about this place is special whatsoever. They charge FIVE DOLLARS for fruit instead of potatoes. Also, the potatoes (and about half the rest of the food) is frozen trash. I'm never waste my time/money on this place again. I also had a vanilla cold brew which was so divine, one of the best coffees Ive had at a brunch spot. Veggie Omelette - The omelette was under seasoned and overcooked, giving it a rubbery texture. I subbed goat cheese for cheddar. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt here and assume the goat cheese would've changed the flavor profile and cook time. Grits - Bland and thick. Had to add quite a bit of salt. This side comes with the omelette (or you can have potatoes). I kind of wished I opted for the house potatoes. Cranberry Mimosa - Delicious! The strawberry garnish was definitely just for show, considering it was a cranberry mimosa, but the flavors didn't clash so I was ok with it. I was surprised at their selection of mimosas too. This dish sounds like a delicious spin on the classic Eggs Benedict, except, what makes or breaks Eggs Benedict? The hollandaise sauce. The sauce has an dominant tanginess that ruins the entire dish. I am unsure if this is a one-off in my dish or if the recipe calls for it, but Eggs Benedict should never taste this tangy. The Biscuits and Gravy: The biscuits taste great with the gravy slathered on them, but once you get past the sauce and get to the actual biscuit, they're bland. The actual biscuits need more of a kick to complete the dish. The sausage was the most flavorful part of the dish. Breakfast potatoes: Need salt. Period. Tater tots: next to the sausage in the Biscuits and Gravy, the tater tots are my favorite item at Another Broken Egg; for a restaurant with countless of savory and sweet breakfast options, a side dish shouldn't be the standout from the lot... I may return at some point for the sweet stuff, but it won't be anytime soon with the abundance of exceptional brunch spots in Burbank.
