Was craving something warm and brunch-y, so we stopped by Another Broken Egg Cafe. Beware of street parking; would recommend parking in the structure on E. Orang Grove Ave and walking over to the cafe. We went to the cafe on a weekday at around 12:30pm and were seated promptly. It's a casual sit-down restaurant with more upscale decor. Their menu has the standard items and seasonal selections. I recommend looking up the cafe's online menu to get reference pictures. The cafe's accommodating to dietary restrictions and substitutions as well; our waiter was very kind and patient as we navigated the menu. I ordered 1 of the seasonal items - the Al Pastor Benedict. It comes with a side choice of country potatoes or grits, but I substituted for fruit, which cost about $4+ extra. The Al Pastor was tender and flavorful. The muffins at the bottom reminded me of corn bread, which (instead of traditional biscuits) was a pleasant surprise and went well with everything. The eggs were nicely poached and a little runny (just how I like 'em) and considering the name of the cafe, you can probably trust that the eggs will be cooked right or to your preference. The fruit was ok; nothing to write home about, but was the preferred side over grits/potatoes this time. This place is I had the skinny omelet which was so delicious. Hubby had the crab cake benedict which he absolutely loved. We decided to also share an order of the burbon street pancakes and OMG were they amazing. Definitely top 3 pancakes I've ever had. I remember coming here many years ago and liking it, so I wanted to come again so I can write a review. We waited about 20 mins for a table on a Monday morning, which was more than I thought we'd have to wait, but probably speaks towards the popularity of the place. And the portions are hefty. I had the blueberry lemon pancakes which were delightfully decadent. They offered a ton of deliciously crafted adult brunch beverages, as well as several fun sweet drinks for the kids. The grits were lukewarm. The flavor wasn't there like it was the first time around. The Supreme omelette could've been great if they seasoned the eggs. They're relying on the meats inside the omelette to bring out the flavors, and it just doesn't work. The side of buttermilk pancakes were delicious. They offer online waitlist as well but it closes after some time if it's very busy so you have to go in and put name down. I ordered lobster and Brie omelette which was very good and added 1/2 of beignets. The beignets were good but nothing special. They were crispy on outside. They were topped with bananas, pecans and whipped cream. I got the rum butter sauce on the side. I also got some scrambled eggs, but unfortunately, they were far from tasty. My favorite breakfast/brunch spot in Burbank. They never disappoint. The service is always good and so is the food. My go-tos are usually an omelette like the skinny or veggie omelette, the salmon benedict, or the huevos rancheros. I also loved the fried green tomatoes when they still had them. More vegetarian options please! Their coffee is also good as is the Bloody Mary. My only complaint is that a lot of dishes have pork in them, and I am allergic to pork, so I'm a bit limited on what I can eat there. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as bar seating inside. It's a good spot for brunch but expect to wait at least 15-20 minutes on the weekends. It's a popular place! The Mardi Gras omelet is fav, minus the sausage because I don't like spicy food. The City Grits are delish! The alcoholic beverages are extra tasty. The whole Lousianan appeal is a great asset to the flavors and creations. Restaurant: The space is pretty sizable and there is a lot of outside seating. The bar is small but comfy nonetheless. I first encountered this restaurant when I was In Charleston and I fell in love. Then they just opened the one in Burbank and it taste just as goodness Great hospitality. I came here twice with the whole family and we sat in our same spot in the back (huge table). It seems if you get here before 9 AM on the weekend the wait is not bad at all. The Skinny omelette is what I ordered and is quite healthy! Just keep in mind that they don't serve specialty coffees but do serve regular coffees. We had a barrage of fuzz coming down on our table, I looked and saw the wall was covered in dust. Attn manager of restaurant, you should pick a new field.
