Classic diner, some of the best coffee in Southern California. This is a great local haunt with great service, a good menu selection, and honest food that is a decent value for the money. Worth the trip if you are in the area, this is one of our must go to anytime we are in town.

    Old style coffee shop.

Excellent service all of them are fantastic at greeting people and making them feel welcomed. The American breakfast was good. Pancakes were fluffy. Lots of locals come here as I was observing who was walking in. I ordered a chorizo burrito and didn't really like it because it wasn't really like the chorizo I was expecting from a Mexican ran restaurant. So, won't be coming here for that. However do love that it's local and better than the commercial options.

Chicken fried steak breakfast. Comes with eggs, choice of potatoes and toast.

Was looking for a place to have breakfast and found The Town Cafe. Nowhere near me. But I liked the menu. Plenty of parking. The staff is super attentive. The cafe has been here since 1968. I had the chicken fried steak breakfast. The gravy is delicious. Portions very satisfying. Good coffee. The only downside is that dogs are not allowed on the patio. If I'm in the area, I would come here again.

    Hash browns??

Ordered my family a meal to go and a side of hash browns. Asked for them crispy. They gave me chips!? I am so confused as to why any cook would think crispy hash browns means completely toast them into chips! Extremely disappointing! Overall we like the food. The older male waiter is very sweet and helpful. Never asking for hash browns crispy again. Someone inform this cook what crispy hash browns means.

Family owned open for 23 years, this little gem in Shadow Hill is amazing. Walking in you don't feel like you're in California but in some country side in the south. Shadow Hill is a horse town so it's definitely giving the south. Anyways I digress... I got the steak and eggs with a muffin on gravy and my friend got the country fried steak with pancakes. We also got sourdough bread with butter on the side. Emily our waitress was very nice, sweet and attentive and so was everyone else. From the time we placed our order, it didn't take long when we got our food. The food was cooked to perfection and tasted fresh. I will say they had a pretty good selection for breakfast, that also included Mexican/Tex mix breakfast. We will definitely be coming back to try their lunch. If I had to rate this place it would be 9 out of 10. If you're in the 818 area please be sure to visit this spot. Side bar muffin and gravy so good and the pancakes were amazing they were so fluffy and the syrup was delicious not too sweet. You can tell there are a lot of regulars that come in, the vibes was definitely friendly and family oriented. Please note that it is cash only and if there's no parking in the front or side there's additional parking in the back.

The staff are all very friendly! We asked our waiter for suggestions and he was very helpful. Two of us were feeing sweet, one was feeling savory, and there were plenty of options on the menu. I got the Sweet Temptation French toast. This was delicious. The Dulce de Lèche was rich, but balanced out with the acidity from the strawberries. The French toast was exactly as you would imagine, cooked well and had a nice flavor. The French toast came with a side of eggs, meat, and potatoes. I chose over medium eggs, bacon, and hash browns. My eggs were cooked right, the bacon was crispy without being brittle, and the hash browns were perfect. Definitely worth it! My friends got the Very Berry French toast and the Chilaquiles Divorciados. They both said theirs were delicious as well. The ambience of the restaurant is clean and nice. There's seating indoors and outdoors, we chose to eat inside. The waiter checked on us a few times to make sure we were still doing okay, and we never felt rushed. Overall, I would definitely recommend Cafe De Olla. I'll be back to try their other menu items (:

I don't live close but was in the area so it seems as it was meant to be. Get there early or you might find yourself waiting for a table. My buddy actually beat me there. That's saying something. See pics. Delicious. Hearty. But not so heavy that I was in a food coma. Hot sauce was provided but didn't need it as the flavors of the ingredients were enough to satisfy my taste buds. Service was decent as well. It could be that we were seated close to the register so that the staff could see if we needed or wanted something. Refills without asking - even continued with the refills after we were just sitting catching up. This was with people waiting for a table. I felt a little guilty but the staff didn't mention anything so we just hung out. It's a diner feel, with both indoor and outdoor seating. A large group can fit but I believe its first come, first served so I'd try to make it early so tables can be configured for the group. If I lived closer, I could see myself popping in from time to time. But, it's so far so it'll just have to be, the next time it's meant to be.
