Classic diner, some of the best coffee in Southern California. This is a great local haunt with great service, a good menu selection, and honest food that is a decent value for the money. Worth the trip if you are in the area, this is one of our must go to anytime we are in town.

    Old style coffee shop.

Excellent service all of them are fantastic at greeting people and making them feel welcomed. The American breakfast was good. Pancakes were fluffy. Lots of locals come here as I was observing who was walking in. I ordered a chorizo burrito and didn't really like it because it wasn't really like the chorizo I was expecting from a Mexican ran restaurant. So, won't be coming here for that. However do love that it's local and better than the commercial options.

Chicken fried steak breakfast. Comes with eggs, choice of potatoes and toast.

Was looking for a place to have breakfast and found The Town Cafe. Nowhere near me. But I liked the menu. Plenty of parking. The staff is super attentive. The cafe has been here since 1968. I had the chicken fried steak breakfast. The gravy is delicious. Portions very satisfying. Good coffee. The only downside is that dogs are not allowed on the patio. If I'm in the area, I would come here again.

    Hash browns??

Ordered my family a meal to go and a side of hash browns. Asked for them crispy. They gave me chips!? I am so confused as to why any cook would think crispy hash browns means completely toast them into chips! Extremely disappointing! Overall we like the food. The older male waiter is very sweet and helpful. Never asking for hash browns crispy again. Someone inform this cook what crispy hash browns means.

Valerie came to say hello and get us started on beverages. After gazing through the menu I noticed the tostadas salad. I checked to see if they make their own shells and hearing yes, I ordered that. I appreciated that the shell wasn't loaded with wet iceberg lettuce. Instead, a highly nutritious load of DRY Spring Mix greens was the base. The salad was topped with a spoonful each of refried beans, sour cream, guacamole, grilled chicken (3-4oz), some chopped tomatoes, sliced red onions and finely grated cheese completed the array. A side of salsa accompanied the tostada. The salad was fresh and good, but the shell was a bit too greasy. I still ate the whole thing, so it definitely wasn't bad. Hubs went with bacon and eggs over easy with french fries as his "potato", buttered toast and coffee. He thought everything was delicious. Inside looks like the coffee house of the 70s/80s. Comfortable and familiar. Indeed, many people dining seemed to be regulars, sharing stories and family health updates . The staff never hurried anyone along and all in all it was a relaxing lunch. Prices seem on par with other restaurants. Lots of free parking in their own lot. Hopefully we won't wait another 4 years before we return again. Cheers! "CC"

First, their cafe de olla is absolutely delicious. This remains one of the only places where I genuinely enjoy ordering cafe de olla. Second, their food is incredible. They serve excellent portions, everything tastes fresh, and the food is just so good. I've had their taquitos and chilaquiles, and both were delicious. The only downside is that every time I've come, there has usually been a bit of a wait, especially because the restaurant itself is pretty small with limited seating. The inside is cute, but small, so we usually end up sitting outside. This is where their Monrovia location does have the advantage because it has much more space. Parking can also be tricky. Good luck finding a spot close enough where you don't have to walk far. We usually end up parking in the residential area around the corner. That said, the staff are wonderful and always try to be as accommodating as possible despite how busy they are. Highly recommend this place if you're okay with possibly waiting a bit for seating. The food and cafe de olla are worth it.

My friend and I went into this Cafe De Olla on the 17th of this month at 2pm. She met me there and lives in Burbank. I have been here once, I believe back in 2018. It was pretty solid in every way. We were warmly greeted by Erick--the host, standing by the podium and right away he got us a seat inside. After like 5 minutes, Elsa, our server approached us to take our order. My friend and I both felt like we were being rushed through our meal. Food came out hot and quick. We opted for a few of their dishes. Tacos Mananeros, came with 4 tacos ($18.95), with 4 complimentary sauces. 2 of the sauces were very spicy and Elsa didn't warn us. We also got the Veggie Omelette with tomatoes, onions, spinach, mushrooms, Jack cheese, topped with avocado and a side order of hash browns. They made the hash browns perfectly. Told her nice and crispy on the top and that's what we got. (18.95). We also shared their French Toast topped with Strawberry, Blueberries, and Blackberries. ($16.95) topped with lots of Whipped Cream (which I love) and a side of syrup. We needed to add more syrup to make the French Toast more moist. The French Toast was a bit dry for our liking. Even the people sitting next to us who ordered the same thing were saying the same. On the flip side, the other 2 dishes tasted fresh and delicious. Great portions for the prices. We also got this drink called Powerful from their smoothies section of the menu. It was called Green Smoothie. Ingredients were the following: blueberries, honey, Greek Vanilla yogurt, avocado and Almond milk. It was simply very refreshing and delicious. My friend wanted some sort of Latte, Espresso, Americano, etc..but they didn't have any of those drinks. All they had was regular & decaf coffee. At first, I asked for Cranberry juice, and Jose, said they only had Apple and Orange juice. We found it a bit odd not to have any of those drinks. Going back to our server Elsa, she was a bit aloof and forgetful. I asked for a bowl of fruit, and it never made it to our table. After we were done eating, I asked for two to-go boxes and a bag, she forgot that too. We had to ask the other employees to get them for us. The same with to-go containers for our sauces. She forgot to bring napkins too. Jose, (our busboy), needs a raise and promotion! This young man read all the ingredients on the Taco menu which came with: bacon & egg, chorizo with potato & eggs, machaka/eggs, & nopaitos/eggs. The writing in their menu was very small. Another server by the name of Angel, truly was an angel. Checked on us while Elsa was taking orders over the phone. They have another location in Monrovia, a gender neutral restroom, place was very clean. Inside was small. It had 10 tables and nice couches with cozy, inspirational decor and pillows. Lovely music playing over head with a nice patio seating. Will I return? Yes, but not anytime soon! Also check for their business hours..

The gravy has lightly cooked Bacon pieces in it and was seasoned deliciously. I added some extra salt and pepper but it didn't need the salt. (10/10) ~ BACON - So cheap, so crispy so good. (5/5) ~ FRENCH TOAST - Super large, it was like a 3.5/5. It was a bit eggy but not too much. A little egg crusting (like my mom made) but very filling. Could've used a little more powdered sugar. (4/5) ~ HASH BROWNS - Large and in charge. They sell tons of these, they're always grilling a dozen at a times. I asked for it cooked crispy and that still wasn't crispy enough. I added salt, pepper, Tabasco and ketchup. (4/5) ~ APPLE JUICE - Your typical supermarket apple juice, sweet and good. (4/5) ~ PASTRAMI SANDWICH - I was told their Pastrami was amazing. I was lied to. It was a C+/B- at best. (4/5) ~ SAUSAGE - Your typical small breakfast sausage links. Decent. (3/5) ~ SCRAMBLED EGGS - It was a bit watery, tastewise is was okay. I added mushroom and cheese, they just added the cheese at the end and didn't mix it in when cooking. It was still decent. (3/5) ~ OVER HARD EGGS - My first time trying these, I'm an egg brat, I only like scrambled. These weren't bad, I think they'd be great in a breakfast sandwich. (3/5) ~ BREAKFAST BURRITO - Disappointing. The tortilla was cheap, flavors were bland. I added avocado and it didn't help. Never again. (2/5) ~ PANCAKES - Underwhelming, a bit charred and the flavor was not the greatest. (2/5) ~ ONION RINGS - Surprisingly disappointing. The batter just didn't do for me. (2/5) ~ HOT CHOCOLATE - Piping hot bitch VERY watery, and underwhelming. 7-Elevens is way better.

This place has the best waffles in the Valley, in my humble opinion, buttery, fluffy, and full of flavor. They pair perfectly with the fried chicken, which is also delicious. I usually hit the drive-thru, and the service is always quick, friendly, and affordable. Can't complain about that. The biscuits are another win, freshly baked daily and definitely worth trying. It's also a solid lunch spot. I especially enjoy the French fries, fried zucchini, burgers, and the pastrami sandwich.
