An old school diner experience. It felt like I traveled back in time as they have an interior of a classic diner. There were most Seniors dining here when we went on a Saturday morning. The prices are pretty good for what they have. I got 2 eggs, 2 pancakes and 2 bacon for $11, which is a pretty good deal nowadays. They are not the best quality but they are good for what it is. I would have left a 4 or 5 stars review , but it took exactly 7 minutes to acknowledge me; I'd have understood if they were crowded but there were only 5 people already served and two of them were party of 2. After being seated and served coffee, it took another 9 minutes for the lady who served me my coffee ask me if I've been helped; well, I would've if the waitress wasn't too busy tending and entertaining one of the locals who seemed very familiar with the place. Lots of locals come here as I was observing who was walking in. I ordered a chorizo burrito and didn't really like it because it wasn't really like the chorizo I was expecting from a Mexican ran restaurant. So, won't be coming here for that. 1968 decor - which I love! Old school vibe all the way. The rock over the entryway is exactly the same late 50's stuff on my childhood home's fireplace. Orange tiles around the kitchen area & burnt orange vinyl booth seats. Fake wood Formica tabletops. Nostalgia! Counter seating stools have been removed though- bummer... As for the food, there are lots of old school favorites as well as more modern fare. Senior specials if you are 55 & over. It's known as a breakfast place and that's what I come for. Chicken fried steak is my favorite with the corned beef hash a close second. Plenty of parking in the shared lot and also on the street a short stroll away. My waiter, an older Spanish speaking gentleman, was especially sweet- very attentive and kind. He turned me onto their house salsa! Super tasty and highly recommend you put it on your eggs or anything else you desire... A solid, local hang for mostly senior citizens. Some good friends of ours invited us to have breakfast with them at Town Cafe. They told us about the place as they go there often. Besides the good food, he likes to play California Hot Spot while they have their meals. We met them there and the place is quaint and lively. The waitress, Ida, was very friendly and patient. The food was very good and my steak and eggs was scrumptious. My wife's chorizo and eggs made her happy and she's not a big fan of the item. It turns out many regulars go to this restaurant to dine and play Hot Spot. I guess in Vegas, it's called Keno. Anyway, I didn't want to miss out on the fun so my friend explained the game to me and I played along. I'm not a gambler by any means but this was fun and it made for a nice experience at breakfast. We will go back some day, most likely to meet our friends there. The food is very good and the atmosphere is pleasant. I Was Expecting a Typical Diner, But Experienced Chaos I called ahead to find out the wait time for a party of 3, and I was told there was no wait. Once we arrived, there was some confusion because there was a sign that said to seat yourself, but also a wait list sign up sheet. We were not the only guests who were confused by this. After being seated we were brought some menus and told by staff that someone would be taking our order, but they were a bit busy (I should've taken this as a sign to leave). Our waiter came about 15 minutes later to take our order. We waited, waited, and WAITED. I had forgotten at what time we arrived so I went to check my "check in" which said an hour ago. We were not the only people with this issue, everyone around was waiting for their food. The food FINALLY came and it was good, but the whole experience made me not want to go back. This place only had 2 cooks and a few waiters. PLEASE HIRE MORE STAFF. It would help run the establishment better, but most importantly have the staff more at ease. This is a great place if your feeing nostalgic. It's not just a 70s vibe, it literally hasn't changed since the 70s, from food to service to ambiance. There may be a few added enhancements from the 80s, but not much. I would've given them 4 stars, but I was really looking forward to a hot cup of coffee with my breakfast. These days, they're serving drinks out of paper and styrofoam. I hate the taste of paper cup with my morning coffee. Food is average coffee shop food and prices are reasonable. They did however way undercook my bacon and forgot to bring my replacement until I was done with my meal. They are understaffed right now with extra seating both inside and outside. Gotta love the electric cord running through our booth. Almost forgot, I did not enjoy the added disruption of having to get up after being seated to look at the menu taped to the counter. Can I leave 0 stars for this restaurant's owner who harassed us about our service dog for sitting and settling next to our table? He asked us multiple times to move to a table in the back after the hostess gave us 2 options, and we chose one, in the back! He seemed to be overly concerned about the "traffic" to the restroom which was near our booth at the end of the walkway. Every time I go in there it's so nostalgic even the food , so amazing ! We've only had a bad incident with a waitress who wanted to go home and had to be forced to serve us ?
