I had to come here for brunch to get some shrimp and grits. They never disappoint. The inside is clean and spacious. The staff are friendly. The food comes out pretty fast. The best shrimp and grits you can ever eat in a restaurant. They're on point. It's creamy and cooked right. Very flavorful. My favorite spot for shrimp and grits.
The lobster omelet did not have lobster, just the langostinos that were suppose to accompany the lobster. When I pressed the matter with the owner's son/host and I asked him to speak with the manager about it, he just coldly said that she was to busy to talk to me. No smile when we walked in, checked in, or an apology for the problem with the food. When the server took the omelet back to the kitchen, the chef just said they don't have lobster, but they could put more langostino. Langostinos are not only a fraction of the cost, but they are different in flavor and texture as well. They are pulling a scam with the lobster there. It is not ethical and is actually illegal to advertise things on the menu that you don't have. It should be removed if they don't intend to carry it.
Another Spilled Yolk. Another Wasted Egg. Just a couple of the names we erroneously called the Southern-inspired brunch spot we were headed to. After a 20-minute wait, we was seated under their covered patio which was comfortable even when the sun intermittently disappeared. Our server was perfectly lovely, but his check-ins with my table were few & far between, I suspect due to being short-staffed. My bf ordered a lunch duo of Chicken & Waffles (looked to be a half order) & cup of Jambalaya which was very good. I went super indulgent with Hash Brown Benedict (loved the mushroom hollandaise), & if that wasn't decadent enough, upgraded to Loaded Bacon Gouda Grits. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal; it's safe to assume everyone in my group did, as well.
I've come a few times for breakfast and they have a good variety of savory or sweet style breakfast/brunch. I like regular back and egg style kind of breakfast which they have & they also have desserts style breakfast waffles and French toast plates. The service moves fast and efficient, we never had longer than a 20 minute wait for a table when we've come here. They're located in the middle of downtown Burbank so there's lots of street parking nearby where you can find free street parking or close by meter parking.
Came here for brunch for the second time because I really enjoy a good Southern-style breakfast, and the food here is usually really good. This visit, my boyfriend and I both ordered the crab cake Benedict. Flavor-wise, it's definitely a standout rich, savory, and exactly what you want from a brunch dish like that. The restaurant was busy, but we were seated pretty quickly, which I appreciated. The ambiance is great for a brunch date lively but still comfortable. The only downside this time was the wait for the food. It took a little longer than expected, and by the time it arrived we were pretty hungry. Unfortunately, the dishes came out cold, and it seemed like they may have been sitting out for a bit. We didn't send them back, but that was definitely disappointing. Overall, I still like this spot and would come back. The flavors and atmosphere are there I just hope the kitchen timing improves next time.
Stopped in here for brunch the other day and I was a bit underwhelmed. We parked right in the front on the street, which now has to be paid for. We got seated right away and I got the traditional breakfast with a waffle on the side. The breakfast was just ok. I would've liked the eggs to be more fluffy, and my toast was soggy. I wouldn't also liked the potatoes and bacon to be a bit lore crispy. The waffle was very yummy though, it was perfectly warm and crispy. They seem to have a large menu of alcoholic drinks but no kinda special lattes or iced coffees. Place is also very family friendly.
Another Broken Egg Cafe never disappoints! Our daughter specifically asked to have brunch here before her flight home to Nashville. The wait was not long -- we joined the waitlist online as we parked. We were then seated when we arrived. I can't resist the Lobster & Brie Omelette. The husband chose from the seasonal menu this time -- Louisiana Benedict. The daughter -- Bourbon Street Pancakes. Everything was OMG delicious! Fluffy pancakes, wonderful sauces, fresh fruit, crispy potatoes, creamy grits and coffee in their super-cute mugs. It's all so satisfying. Service has always been great -- today was no exception. Such a great breakfast spot. We had my daughter's birthday breakfast celebration here before heading to Universal Studios...& it was perfect. We enjoyed all the food. Lots of food for a good price. You must get the beignets & cinnamon roll French toast. You can thank me later.
Parking lot of close by and free which is nice. Took my friend here for her birthday brunch. She got a bloody Mary which she said was super good. So got two of those. I got a lavender drink with Saint Germaine and champagne and a tequila mule. Both were on the sweet side but still good flavor. So the downside is there is only one salad on the menu. There should be at least two. We both got the chicken Cobb with with grilled chicken. I am glad you could sub grilled for the fried to make it healthier. It came with a honey mustard dressing which was good but it wasnt Cobb dressing which is typically blue cheese. Still overall it was a good salad. We did add avocado, bell pepper, onion, and cucumber to it. The bowls were super cute too. The service overall was a little slow even though there wasnt a lot of people. So giving it a 4 out of 5. Id still be back occasionally.
We were a group of 9 adults and they gave us a table for 8. When we asked for a small table to be added the refused. So we added a chair and squished the 9 th person in there. Outside was too noisy. I would recommend the restaurant plant some bushes or built some sort of a fence to ease the street noise. We asked for Raspberry tea from the menu and they didn't have it. Dishes were overall ok.
I feel like people don't understand how to properly review places. Of your food taste good but issue is temperature it doesn't equate to a 1 star review lol. So far, great experience even though it was during rush hour breakfast / brunch on a Saturday. 15-20 minute wait host was accurate about. We sat down and were handed menus to look over then a waiter (Charles) came to the table reasonable amount of time for us to look and decide what we wanted. He helped guide us and helped us choose what was tasty. He wasn't wrong! Eggs Benedict were top notch, the pancakes were amazing and moist, my partner had shrimp and crawfish omelette that he suggested, and it was amazing! He was at tentative but at the same time, not too much. The food came out very quickly. The temperature was perfect and it was her first time here and we had such a great experience. I just don't understand how people review places with a one star when there's only one thing that's wrong with the establishment and that could be fixed if you send back your food for them to fix. Love this place. I will be back!

DELICIOUS!!! One of my favorite places to go in the area! Various drink options with or without alcohol, but all sounded delicious. We got the banana bread french toast and crabs benedict. I forgot what drink I got. Banana bread frech toast was a bit sweet, but that was expected with the type of bread and fruit on top. The crabs benedict was well executed with an andouille sausage hollandaise sauce. Service was attentive. Make sure to make your reservations especially if you come on the weekend. read more

The food was sub par at best, the service was ok. My order was wrong even when I specifically asked for no bacon they had bacon. We had a barrage of fuzz coming down on our table, I looked and saw the wall was covered in dust. Attn manager of restaurant, you should pick a new field. This is not what you are suppose to have on your walls. Never coming back, 1 star at best. Expected a little more for a $140.00 bill. Or at-least a cleaner location. Another Broken Egg Cafe is a solid breakfast spot located in downtown Burbank. We came here with a bunch of family, but got seated within 15ish minutes. Pretty quick! Service was amazing the entire time: staff checked in on us very regularly and were friendly. The menu is gigantic, and features a lot of cool southern-inspired dishes, but I was in the mood for something really simple. I liked that they had southern-inspired foods as opposed to your usual run-of-the-mill brunch spots. The coffee at this place really stood out to me. It wasn't your typically crappy diner coffee - they definitely have something next level going on there. The food itself was pretty mid, but nonetheless I enjoyed the space with my family and we all had a good time together. For Burbank, this is a great value spot for breakfast! read more

The breakfast and service was GREAT! I wish I got our servers name, she was great! I ordered the eggs Benedict and WOW-- I was not disappointed. The food was fresh. The potatoes were well seasoned and a good amount of soft/crisp. The mimosas were good and strong. The service was great as they were very attentive. I had a great experience here. My group got a table outside and our waitress was friendly. We shared the grand mimosa pitcher which was delicious. I got the supreme omelette that had bacon, sausage, mushrooms, spinach, and cheese and I opted for a side of grits. The omelette was tasty and they did not skimp out on the toppings. I also enjoyed the grits and used some Texas Pete to spice it up. There is a free parking structure across the street which makes things convenient. This place was recommended to us so we decided to stop in for breakfast. There is a parking garage close to the restaurant. There is outdoor patio seating as well as inside. The inside is very pretty, and the staff we encountered all were amazing! I ordered The Sunrise Spinach Scrambler, grits and a side of pancakes. The scrambler consisted of eggs, spinach, onion, bacon and cheese. It was really good. My grits were creamy and cooked perfectly. The pancakes, so light fluffy and melted in the mouth seriously I think they were the best pancakes I've ever had. My husband had The Southwest Scrambler consisted of green Chile, chorizo, cheese, onion and tomato. It came with a tortilla, salsa , guacamole and a side of potatoes. He enjoyed it. My son had chicken and waffles. He said the chicken was crispy and had good flavor. The waffle was fluffy and he liked it a lot. He had ordered and apple juice and let me just say that he took one drink and was telling us you gotta try this apple juice and it was delicious! 100% pure pressed and it's very true! My mom ordered the classic bacon burger and we were all saying WOW because of the size of the patty. Huge! She really liked it as well. My dad ordered The Hey Lucy and he said it was really good, the chorizo is an in house made chorizo. We were also with 2 others in our party but I didn't take pictures of their plates. I know they had The Bourbon Street pancakes and they were raving on how delicious they were. One had the classic breakfast and the other the supreme omelette. They both enjoyed it. Expensive for breakfast IMO but service was great and food was delicious. They throw on 18% gratuity for any bill over $100 and dishes range from $15-$20 plus your drink so ends up being almost equivalent to the 18% restaurants add for groups of 6 or more. They have a bar which at 10 am was surprisingly full when we arrived. We waited about 5 min to be seated. I had the Crab Cake Benedict, it was super lemony and at first I thought it was the hollandaise but it ended up being the crab cake, eggs were cooked perfectly. Coffee was yummy! They always checked if I needed a refill. My 9 yo got the traditional french toast which could probably feed 3 9yo's, her scrambled eggs were yummy and the bacon was perfectly crisp. I had to add on a side of grits because you dont see them often on a menu and they did not disappoint... probably the best grits ive had in this area. Smooth and delish! Our bill for 2 (one being a child) was $57 and then I tipped a very generous tip. Like I said in the beginning overpriced for breakfast (IMO). I knew going in I was going to have a big bill so I never hold that against the restaurant when I review. We walked there from the Tesla dealership and if you have time the downtown shopping area is right around the corner. Definitely recommend if you have the budget, portions are shareable but the menu is so big you probably will want something to yourself. Let the kids split! read more

I am a breakfast junkie. Always looking for a new breakfast/brunch spot to try out. After a short hiatus from Another Broken Egg, I noticed that the menu is not the same. Was looking to order my favorite corned beef hash item on the menu and didn't see it. Our waiter informed us that the breakfast/brunch menu changes every now and then (3 months). So something you love/like on the menu might not be available when they rotate the menu selections every few months or so - bummer. The food here is presented nicely, but for me something is missing... The breakfast offerings here remind me of "mid-tier hotel" style breakfast. Not bad, not great, kinda generic tasting (ex: overcooked or pre-made, uniformed). Then again, taste is subjective. This place seems to be a popular spot in Burbank. The menu is smaller here and has some interesting Louisiana twist, but mostly all American classics... good news is they serve cocktails here if you want to drink up breakfast instead of eat, lol. Overall, I think Another Broken Egg has a nice ambience and atmosphere here is great; along with friendly service to boot. I do recommend this place if you are dining with a bigger party. Went to this cafe w a friend from college. We wanted to share brunch together and found lots of yummy options to share! The lemon blueberry goat cheese pancakes had to be my absolute favorite. They had the perfect amount of sweetness w a hint of lemon tartness, squidgy blueberries and that nose crinkling creamy goodness of goat cheese that really brought it all together! There are lots of options both savory and sweet and they had the cutest walls w rows of mugs. Good service and average prices. Solid brunch place would come again! read more

Everything we had was very good! I would recommend the green chilaquiles, they had the right amount of spice and were very flavorful. The bourbon pancakes were yummy. The sauce is what makes the pancakes so delicious, perfect for sharing! The service was great, for a busy Saturday, we only had to wait 5 minutes to be seated. Went here on a Saturday around 1PM and only waited 10 minutes to be seated. The customer service was fantastic. They were so energetic and were so easy to talk to. I parked on the streets and I believe they had a two hours limit there. As for the food, I tried Mardi Gras Omelette and Crab Cake Benedict. The omelette was good. They had a lot of the ingredients in it, however, I wish they added a bit more egg since it was a bit thin. The potatoes tasted like every other place. The only comment I have about that is for it to be a bit more crispy. They do make their own sauces so I recommend requesting to try it. For the Benedict, I actually wasn't a fan of it. I just thought it was okay. The crab flavor wasn't as strong. It had a distinct flavor which I thought took away the goodness of the crab itself. Other than that, you can tell that it is blended very well. For the grits, they were great. I didn't taste too much of the cheese and I thought the bacon added a great bite to it. Overall, this place wasn't entirely bad but I wouldn't wait 1-2 hours for it. read more

Came for the lobster grits specialty menu item (which is great). Item was just removed, so got the crab cake Benedict and grits. Grits were amazing as usual but a No Go for those crab cakes. Yuck. Coming from the DC area, I'm used to having mostly crab meat and little filler. These were majority filler and couldn't find the crab meat. Seems like a boxed cake and not fresh like many of their other dishes. My other visits have been A1. This time, not so much. My server was very good though! read more

The absolute best breakfast spot imaginable. Everything is on another level. Unbeatable. The food, The ambiance, the service. All rolled up in delicious savory and addictive dishes. Had a very pleasant breakfast here. Was looking for a good place with a nice patio to eat at to be covid safe and found this place where the patio is large! The food was really good and the menu was big enough that there is something for everyone. The pancakes were super soft and fluffy and my eggs benedict had really nice seasoning on top of a crispy English muffin. I want to shout out our server Tika who was super friendly. She gave us the diner feel where the wait staff makes you feel like family, every time she came to our table she was an absolute joy and was also really awesome about making sure our coffee was filled. Also the bathrooms here are really nice. Plenty of free parking around here too. This place does get busy so just be aware but the lines weren't extensive. Will definitely come back. read more
Breakfast here on Saturdays is a bit challenging because of limited street parking and the adjacent farmers market. I like that they have both indoor and outdoor patio seating. The food here is decent and substantial, but nothing special. My friend had the eggs benedict and I had eggs and bacon. We both opted for the cheesy grits. Our food was basically home style comfort food. The grits were creamy and probably my favorite part of the meal. The coffee was just so-so. Service was friendly and initially attentive. Our coffee was filled regularly and our server asked a few times if we needed anything. After the check we wanted to linger over coffee but we got the feeling that we should just leave. I don't think I'd return given the parking situation and just average food. Pancakes French toast. Poached eggs Benedict. Their menu is fabulous. From French roast coffee and sparkling soda(sprite haha) to desert like toast. Edited about 30 minutes for Sunday brunch. People outside suggesting it was legit in downtown burbank following a long day at universal studios. It's a cute little area and the place is quite spacious with seats in and out. Nice decor and great friendly staff. They have a cool text back system so you can stroll around the neighborhood while waiting to get your steps in. I love soda in mason jars it always gets me. Creamer that flows into your coffee that can be had the way you like. I love it iced. The French toast was so good. Thick Texas like toast and topped with powder sugar. The poached eggs were also amazing. Great sauce and the side of grits with cheese omg. So yummy and creamy. Everything was great. Slightly pricey no refill check and a super small bathroom for a vast amount of people. But nearly perfect. Still a definite five stars read more

Five stars for awesome, friendly service and delicious food! So glad to have discovered this spot as it's the perfect breakfast/brunch place that covers all bases. It's a laidback comfortable environment with plenty seating indoor and outside. The menus cover all grounds and have something for everyone both savory and sweet. I think this a pretty good spot for breakfast and brunch. Is it my absolute favorite?! Mmm maybe not, but I did think the food was decent. We waited 35 minutes for a table on a Saturday, just be mindful in that regard as it does get filled up with people. Items ordered: Pecan Praline Cold brew: 6/10 (they definitely went heavy handed on the liquor). My friend and I hadn't eaten anything so the buzz started to kick in quite quickly. It wasn't too flavorful either just s subtle hint of pecans as they put bits and pieces around the jar. Café amore: 5/10 it was stronger than the cold brew as would be expected given that it's a hot drink and not watered down by ice. Strawberry pound cake: 7/10 loved the spongyness of the bread and the strawberries were fresh. Cinnamon roll French toast: 7/10 not too bad definitely on the heavier side. If you really want to indulge then definitely order! read more

The shrimp and grits, Tito's Bloody Mary were great. The grits tasted even better with a splash of lemon. Highly recommend that. The strange part about this visit: We were sat at the inside area closest to the front entrance. The female server never welcomed us in or introduced herself as she walked back and forth past us. After 5 minutes, we flagged down a server and he took our order. Apologized for the inconvenience as he brought out our order. Really strange our male server was only serving our table out of this area and the female server served every other table in that area? Waved down another person who seemed to be the manager maybe? Couldn't tell us who our server was and walked away. What? Went to the front desk and was was able to get our server who was serving another area. I had to ask. I asked the gentleman, what the reason for this and he gave an answer that was covering his counter part. read more
