We had out of town and out of state guests for a family baptism. We picked this restaurant to give our quests a pleasant brunch experience. We checked in and were told it would be a 45 minute wait. No problem. Half of our party waited in the very small waiting area while the other have waited outside in the sweltering heat. Some members of other parties waiting in the desert heat were offered water, however we were not. After being told that our table was ready and just needed to be cleaned, twice, but never being seated and going on TWO Plus hours wait I walked the floor of the restaurant myself and found no area close to being able to seat a party of nine or being ready for us to be seated. I spoke with the manager who was clueless and could only say that she couldn't make the current guests leave to create seating. (Thank you for explaining it to me like l'm 3 instead of 53) Further she could not give me an estimate of when we would be seated, only that we were next but we were already "next" for over an hour. It was very clear to me that the inept manager was clueless and wouldn't have a problem with us waiting another two hours. No thank you, we took our party next door to Jason's Deli where we were seated immediately and everyone enjoyed their meal. First time visit. There was a bit of a wait but I was alone and easily grabbed a spot at the bar. The place was busy but people seemed to be sitting outside while waiting for tables so that's nice rather than having them crowded at the front hostess station. Service at the bar was immediate. There's a good menu filled with unique items of local ingredients. Lots of seafood-inspired dishes though that for breakfast does not interest me. I went basic - omelet, English muffin, potatoes. While decent I found the omelet a little over cooked and the sausage inside very dry. The potatoes were crispy and the muffin toasted just right to my taste. Service was friendly and attentive without hovering. I wish I could have ordered a pitcher of mimosas but I was driving. They looked yummy however and next time I'll bring a driver so I can indulge. The atmosphere was very nice - lots of light. On the higher end of reasonably priced - I had a big breakfast with beverage for $20 including tip. Walking into the restaurant you are immediately greeted with warm smiles and hellos. The decor is upbeat and bright which make u feel at home with a happy vibe. There's plenty seating so I didn't have to call ahead for reservations. The service was impeccable!! Our waitress was super kind and patient and fast, she knew the whole menu and what to suggest. The food was just "okay," nothing exciting or memorable about the presentation or the taste. The price wasn't outrageous but a lil overboard for food that's less than satisfactory. Love it here. I have never been disappointed. Their bloody Mary's are fantastic. I've tried many of the dishes such as the southwest scramble, the lobster and brie omelette, and a few others. We tried Another Broken Egg as our first Louisiana breakfast. We weren't disappointed. Upon arrival husband and I were greeted cheerfully by a hostess and seated immediately. Disclosure- we went on a Monday morning around 10:00. Not sure about the wait during busier hours. With that being said, our server was prompt and attentive. Our drinks were delivered right away and our server helped us navigate the menu, which is extensive and varied. We literally wanted to try EVERYTHING!! I had the Floridian omelet, side of potatoes and side of the lemon-blueberry goat cheese pancake. My hubs ordered the supreme omelette, side of potatoes and an order of biscuit beignets. We definitely over ordered! The servings are plentiful. My omelette came with plenty of crab and cheese. I loved the green onions on top! Egg was cooked perfectly, and was nice and fluffy. The crab and cream cheese are naturally sweet, so if you don't care for sweet and salty, you might wanna omit the cream cheese. The highlight for me was that pancake. Holy cow!!!! What an amazing combination! The blueberries are cooked inside of the pancake with lemon zested whip cream and sprinkled goat cheese on top with additional fresh blueberries. Just WOW! So good! The supreme omelette was full of meaty goodness that my husband found flavorful and filling. The potatoes are just okay. We'll try another side next time. The biscuit beignets were great and the honey "sauce" that come with them really put them over the top delicious. Our bill came in at just under $40, which is a splurge for breakfast BUT, definitely worth it! We'll be back to try more sooner rather than later! read more

We visited this location on 11/24. We arrived Shortly before 11am and were seated promptly. One of my pet peeves is slow beverage service, and we waited 5 minutes or so before the waitress came over to even offer coffee. We placed our order at approx. 11:10 and then proceeded to wait an hour to be served. About 40 minutes into our wait, I asked the waitress about our food and she said we were 3rd in line. Really? You can't turn food out quicker than that? Shortly after noon, our food was delivered. It was good, but I was already so ticked about the service that I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have. I literally just had the most AMAZING breakfast experience this morning. I decided to have breakfast by myself this morning and happened upon this location. My waitress Kate was EVERYTHING, so attentive, kind, but also gave me my space to enjoy my solo breakfast. I had a mimosa, a Bellini, the Stan Mardi Gras Omelette with tomato bernaise , with the City Grits and everything was just simply delicious. I should have taken a picture at the beginning because it was a beautiful spread. But I am now full and leaving with a doggy bag. Don't waste your time - overall lousy service and mediocre food at best. This particular review based on hostess giving preference to people she knows. We were told a 20 minute wait at 11. We were Party of 7 and willing to split up. After 30 minutes, still waiting - the hostess seated another party of 7 who arrived after us - at one large table. When I checked back at 40 minutes in - and EVERYONE who was waiting had already been seated - those who came before and after us - she said she had no idea how much longer it would be. As if this review we are 1 hour and 4 minutes and still waiting . . . Thankfully had the intelligence to move onto the Ruby Slipper where the wait is at least worth it. read more

Breakfast is easily my favorite meal of the day so I go to ABE whenever I can. The food is consistently good even if the service isn't. I love the omelettes, seriously. I love them all lol. The only bad thing in my opinion is you have to request REAL eggs. Most restaurants use egg substitute so if it doesn't bother you, no biggie. The chicken and waffles are awesome and so is the French toast! The drinks are pretty good also. We like to come here for Sunday brunch for a special treat. However, for breakfast foods, it's very much over-priced. Last Sunday I ordered the eggs Benedict, and really enjoyed it, but initially had to send it back to the kitchen because it had tons of green onions, while I had requested none. Have always liked this place in the past, but was very turned off during our last visit. It will definitely be our LAST visit. It was an LSU game day so we expected a wait, but we were told 20-30 minutes and it took over 50 to get seated. It seemed to take forever to get our drinks and even longer to get our food. We sat with empty mimosa glasses for over fifteen minutes although our server and even a manager passed by our table several times without even giving us a glance. Finally, I flagged down our server for the drinks. To make matters worse, an employee exited a stall in the men's room and returned to the kitchen without washing his hands. The food was good. It was very busy when we went in on a Sunday morning. The wait was not terrible to be seated but our food did take a long while to get to us since they were so busy. Which it is what it is can't really help that. Our server Cornelius was so sweet and attentive even though they were slammed. We we're even given free beignets for our wait. The only thing that sucks is we missed a childrens' reading time we wanted to attend with our child because we did not anticipate how long we would wait for food. We are in our way home to Florida, stopped to have some breakfast . My 7 year old daughter ordered a chocolate milk. The waitress came later with a glass with a brown beverage and some wipe cream , my daughter drank that and minutes later the waitress came saying the beverage has alcohol. No only this is a horrible mistake and lack of organization but my daughter has a tree nut / peanut allergy and the beverage was made with Nutella she normally reacts with anaphylactic reactions that means she can die. We are on our way praying for her not to have a reaction but we want to make sure this location has some kind of penalty because obviously they don't know how to manage alcohol in their location. How they don't know how to differentiate a kids drink or non alcoholic drinks from alcoholic drinks . Besides that they don't have any idea what is Gluten a responsible business owner would train their employees about alcohol management and allergies. read more

There's a long line everyday because the food is great. We were seated at the bar without any wait and had a fantastic breakfast with mimosas. The portions are large enough to split. And, I swear, these people know exactly how to cook an egg (becoming a lost culinary art). The prices are very reasonable. So even if you're in college, do yourself a favor and stop taking your dates to Louie's on campus - this is where breakfast really happens. Some of these omelets will blow your mind but I went with the biscuits and gravy today. The only bad part about going here is having to guard my plate from my wife's fork! read more

This is my second time eating at this chain (different locations), and although I had a much better experience at this location, the place just isn't my favorite brunch option. They had skim milk for coffee, which was exciting, and the Skinny Omelet was much better at this location than it was at their Shreveport spot. Also, I didn't have to have a back and forth discussion on having a different fruit option -the waitress told me they could do plain strawberries instead of the fruit mix. SOLD! I did not, however, like that despite my making it very clear that I'm gluten free, and that I didn't want any bread near my plate, my dish still came with an English Muffin right on top. To the waitress' credit, she did notice it as she was putting it down in front of me, and offered to have the kitchen remake the dish. Thankfully, I'm not that sensitive to wheat/gluten and I was able to just remove the bread from the plate. Two things to note: The waitress should have probably checked the food for accuracy prior to bringing it out to the table, and the kitchen staff should pay more attention to the orders, especially when allergies/sensitivities are at play. Being gluten free is not a preference for me, it is dietary obligation. read more

Eh.... This is your typical breakfast joint. Sunday mornings are always rough.... dont even try it. There's always a crowd, there's always a wait. The food is okay for me... it wasnt my favorite and if you just wanted a simple breakfast, it was a little difficult to find. I got some kind of southwest skillet meal. The wait was a little outrageous. We probably waited a good 15 min before someone came over and asked if we've been helped or if we got drinks. The waitress/ waiters seem to be frantic to try to take care of everyone but it looks like chaos. Also, it seemed to be pricey for that kind/quality of food i received. I'm a big fan of the food at Another Broken Egg but this place does have a few issues that I find problematic. First of all, this place gets packed on the weekend. I'm sure this is a problem they are glad to have, but the wait can get a bit long. Another Broken Egg has the worst bloody Mary I've ever had the displeasure of tasting. It tasted like ketchup and vodka. After my experience with the bloody mary, I decided to stick with water but my friend decided to basically go through their entire drink menu to ultimately be unsatisfied with every drink they tried. The service is also a bit slow. Despite these complaints, the food at Another Broken Egg is delicious. This is place that could easily move up for me if they just addressed a few complaints (like maybe using zing zang for their bloody mary mix). Normally, I don't leave the comfort of New Orleans to eat in BR. I mean, BR southern-cajun style cooking ain't the same. However, an out of town friend was heading to BR so I met up with them at this place for brunch. I mean really, how can you mess up on brunch-breakfast foods? Even school cafeterias are reasonable. I don't remember what I ate b/c I was engrossed in conversation, oddly enough. But it was some egg-omelet-spinach-sausage mix. Nicely done especially with fresh veggies and sausage. How can sausage not be good. The hash browns are the cube style diced potatoes. Each square was fried evenly with the crisp edge along each side. Good stuff.
