Huge disappointment. Waited over an hour for our food to come out and when it did it was lukewarm. I ordered avocado on my omelette and I had to look hard to find the small piece. My omelette was noticeably smaller than my wife's. I told the waitress about the above and she brought out 3 slivers of avocado. We didn't order toast or potatoes (no carb thing) and they had the audacity to charge me for the avocado and four small chunks of tomato that was in the omelette. So can I talk about how INCREDIBLE THE SERVICE WAS!!!!! my cousins and I came in for brunch after a small family reunion and we were super hungry!!! I will admit, the food took forever to come, but the service from the server JAY made the wait wayyyyy better. She cake to check on us even when she didn't have too. She made us feel welcome and from the moment we moved to her section, I could already tell she was an awesome person. Every meal I've ever had here has been good. My problem is, the few things I've tried are so good that I don't want to try new things. Today I had Crabcakes Cavallo. Absolutely so good. Not quite as heavy as some of the other items that I've tried. My sister had Bacquezo Omelette. I tasted it and loved it. Very different and extremely good. The sausage has a nice flavor and went well with the cream cheese. The seasoned potatoes that come with both are perfectly cooked but not particularly flavorful. We chose to go on a Monday morning because the lines are incredibly long other days. I'm determined to try something new next time, possibly the Southern Crabstack or Shrimp and Grits because they sound so good. All of my companions have always enjoyed their meals here. Like some reviewers have mentioned below, their wait times are awful, specially on weekends. The food is worth the wait though. I've been here several times and tried a different things which all lived up to my expectations. The last time I went there, I ordered the Southern crab stack. From the description on the menu, I thought the dish would be huge--jumbo crab cake on grit cakes, with shrimp and andouille sausage and garlic french bread. The sausage turned out to be small triangle-shaped bits. Ditto for the garlic bread. The crab cake grit stack was thick, but had more grit than crab. It came with a moderate size of baked potatoes. All for about $15. The quantity was enough for one person...no leftovers. I was happy with the meal, but I'm going to try something different next time...maybe the huevos rancheros. read more

I'm a huge fan of breakfast and I love this place. It's a little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for. My favorite type of breakfast is tex-mex style and their signature Lucy omelette is delicious. They are always friendly and courteous. Only problem is that they are so popular on weekends, the wait can be very long. Tony was our server today and he was awesome, food was great! I stopped in early on a Thursday morning to grab breakfast to-go. I called ahead first for an order of beignets and a cappucino. When I came into the restaurant fifteen minutes later, the beignets were ready and the waitress made me my cappucino while I was paying so that it would stay hot. The beignets were crispy and covered in powdered sugar, but slightly denser than I normally like them, and with just a pinch too much salt. It was accompanied by an orange syrup that was good, but I ended up preferring the flavor of the beignets on their own. The cappucino was also just okay, but hot as promised. Service was fast and pleasant, and there were several people around the bar doing work on their ipads, making it seem like a nice place to have a relaxing pre-work breakfast. The food is good but the portions are small. Be prepared to spend 30+ dollars for two people. If you're coming here for breakfast/brunch you might wanna grab a bowl of cereal or a bagel before you leave the house. The cinnamon roll French toast is tasty. I love ABE...except this one. This was the 4th ABE I've been to. First was in Mountain Brook, Alabama. It was super happy when I found that ABE was a chain. I did get my fourth mug but will most likely never return. Below are just some of the reasons..... -- I was seated at the bar by the hostess. I sat at the bar for 5-10 minutes (which felt like an eternity) before anyone came to greet me or even offered a drink. The restaurant was barely half full and it was late lunch hour. -- The restaurant had a foul odor. I smelt the odor as soon as I walked in and the odor was evident all throughout the restaurant. -- The service was sub-par at best. As soon as I got my food, no one ever came back to my table except to bring me my check. -- The food was terrible. I ordered the Crabcake Crostinis. The grilled french bread was soaking in oil. It was actually pretty disgusting. The crabcakes were VERY mushy tasting. Half the salad was wilted. Since I got a BR ABE mug, I won't return to this location. I asked that they replace the poached egg to a fried egg cooked through. They still brought me a poached egg. I asked them to fix it and they basically brought back a boiled egg. Went for brunch last Sunday. The wait was 40 minutes long so we were expecting great things. Managed to skip the wait by snagging an empty outside table (first come first serve like the bar) due it being a little nippy out. The staff was great from the hostesses to our server. Where it all falls apart is the food itself. I ordered the Benedict Oscar, an Eggs Benedict twist that adds grilled steak, crabmeat, and asparagus. Sounds good, right? The food arrived lukewarm and lacking all flavor. I'm not trying to be mean here but it really is impressive how they managed to take all these naturally delicious and flavor packed ingredients and make them so utterly bland and tasteless. The steak obviously had not been seasoned before hitting the grill. The crabmeat was nothing special. The bearnise sauce was all wrong to the point that I felt the dish should not be advertised under the Eggs Benedict section at all. The best part of the whole thing was the asparagus and let's be honest, Mother Nature did most of the work on that one. Even my girlfriend admitted she could've gone to Waffle House down the street for a better (and cheaper) waffle. All in all, it was a nice place with cool people working there but we won't be back. It's all about the food at the end of the day, good service only gets you so far. After some bad restaurant experiences in the area, my husband and I decided to check out this cafe recommended to us by a friend. The ambiance was nice. It's also very clean inside and the hostess was incredibly friendly. Our waiter was named Cary and he did an awesome job. He was attentive and playful. We ordered the beignets. These were more like little buttermilk biscuits rolled in powdered sugar and served with a honey / orange sauce on the side. Delicious. This is the first place I've been where they weren't greasy. I also ordered a cappuccino and it was perfect with the appetizer. My husband got the Benedict Oscar which was a spin on eggs Benedict with steak and asparagus. My husband cleaned his plate. I ordered the Floridian which was a signature item. It's an omelette filled with cream cheese, topped with garlic, Monterey Jack cheese, crab meat and green onions. The egg was cooked perfectly, light and fluffy, and the combinations of flavor was something I'm dying to recreate at home. Both of our meals came with a side of seasoned potatoes. So good! I was going to give it four stars because it was a little pricey but then I was thinking that it's really worth it for the quality of food. Great place. Another Broken Egg...name's a bit odd, but maybe that's why I liked it! Went here with a friend that I hadn't seen in waaaaay too long and I'm sure glad he brought me here. The interior looks very much like a nice southern home (well we are in the Deep South) with quaint paintings on the walls, a red hue of painted wood, and cozy chandeliers along the ceiling. We got a nice table by the window and boy was I starving so we immediately threw in an order of beignets. Gotta do it here right? Our waiter Malik was right on it - this man knew we were hungry and was one of the friendliest, good-natured waiters I met on my trip to LA. Go Malik! The beignets were truly fantastical. I know what I said. The expected pounds of powdered sugar were complemented by this delicious citrus syrup on the side that really twisted the flavor of the beignets in my mouth to new heights of happiness. Needed to work through the hangover so I grabbed a coffee here too, which comes in one of their cute little ABE mugs that reminded me of Winnie the Pooh's honey pot. And damn I found it! I'm a sucker for Hollandaise sauce so the "Signature Benedicts" section caught my eye on this succulent menu. I went with the Veggie Benedict (duh vegetarian blah blah), and when this baby came my stomach went wild. Two English muffins topped with savory sauteed spinach, tomatoes, broccoli, two wonderfully poached eggs (just runny enough), and of course the godly Hollandaise. While the sauce was great, I couldn't help but squirm with elation when I tasted the spinach. Absolutely perfect. All the foods in the dish went well together and the English muffin below gave each bite enough texture to blend it all well. And I almost forgot - the side of country potatoes were just how they should be, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and not too salty. If I come across another one of these restaurants I'll definitely have to drop in a see what's good because the food, setting, and waiter (yeh Malik) really made my day and helped a lengthy recovery from a hard Baton Rouge night! read more

We ordered two orders of the biscuits and gravy with sausage and eggs entrees and we received no sausage on either and no biscuits. My husband had a receipt in his eggs- my container of grits had no top and the potatoes on my husbands plate were stiff and cold. I'm a frequent customer of Another Broken Egg Café. I generally frequent the café that's located in New Orleans Louisiana. I was visiting my sister in Baton Rouge and decided to try the Café located on Corporate Boulevard in Baton Rouge, LA. This location was three times the size of the location that I normally visit. we arrived approximate 55 minutes before closing time there were tables that had not yet been bust. There was food on the floors and we were 1 of 3 tables seated in the entire restaurant. We waited approximately 15 minutes before any one came to our table. We order our beverages and food. I ordered my favorite Banana Foster Pancakes, with the Sweet Savoy Sausage. We received our food, my food was lukewarm and my Sister's Crab Cake Benedict was cold in the center. We had to send it back to the kitchen. I was disappointed in the quality of food I received at this location.
