So I called, I spoke to a few ladies who were very pleasant and helpful. We ordered 300 wings over the phone, paid over the phone, and had an easy smooth pick that was on time. I had never tasted the chicken so out course that was the first thing I did. When the chicken arrived to New Orleans ( yes we drove from NO to pick up the chicken and came back) it was still hot! If you don't tip the cashier you don't get good picks, a thank you or a buy when at the pick up windows. They will call your name, drop your bag on the counter and walk off!! The Blue Store Chicken prices are still pretty good compared with other fried chicken places but the quality of the food has steadily declined since I first started going there. There are several of these stores around Baton Rouge and I have been to a few of them and they all seem to be declining in food quality. Sometimes they don't have chicken legs or thighs and often when they do, they are dry like they were leftovers from yesterday that have been re-warmed. I stopped asking for legs and thighs and started getting the wings because they seem to be more available when I go but today the wings seemed like leftovers from yesterday too. I guess I will stop going there since it has gotten pretty bad. read more

I attempted to place an order for 100 wings a week in advance. I was told to order them the week of the date needed. I called on a Monday morning and told them I needed to place an order for 100 wings for Thursday morning to pickup around 10:45 am. They told me to call Tuesday morning. I called back Tuesday morning and thy then told me that I should have called earlier, Monday, they could not take my order for that time because they already had orders when I spoke to the manager and explained that I attempted to place an order and pay for them Monday he said they should have taken my order. The service at this location is terrible and I will never visit this store again after being given the run around for placing an order. I cannot recommend this store to anyone. Try the other locations for better service! read more

Checked out the new Blue Store Chicken site today. Loved that they had a drive-through (although curiously you place your order at the pick up window...but they are pretty quick assembling orders). I tried their wings, legs and fries. Their chicken is breaded and I enjoyed the wings more than the legs. I like salty, spicy food. Their breading is plenty salty (which was a positive for me) and while not overwhelmingly spicy, seemed to have a little bite to it. Works well for the wings, a little less so for the legs. The fries were standard and tasty. I ordered a six piece of wings (and received 7) and a three piece of legs (and received 4), so that was a nice bonus. Chicken Shack has slightly better chicken, but there are times when I just want to drive through. Those times are when Blue Store will be the winner winner -- chicken dinner! read more

I've been here five times now and the food is amazing! There are no tables to eat in and the ambiance is that of the main restaurant area being storage along the walls for drinks, hence the four stars. Outside of that, the food is a great value for the money! I get the chicken salad and honestly, the fried or grilled chicken salad is a good bet on any day. And they have pigtails!
