Amazing how good fresh tastes!!
John E.

Everything on the salad bar was so fresh. A variety of dressing that will make your head spin. An awesome hot bar with meats, potatoes and veggies. 4 different soups on the hot bar ad well. As good as the food is, the homemade lemonades will make me fight traffic to get here!!

I'm a picky eater so I enjoy being able to make my salad with only the things I like.

Selection is weak compared to other Salad Station franchises. High turnover in staff., untrained.

Great selection of items for a salad. I lived all the fruit options, which is becoming harder to find at salad bars!

Super fresh ingredients, DOZENS of choices, friendly staff and so clean. Wish we had one back home -- I'd be here all the time!

Elsie's Plate & Pie absolutely knocked it out of the park! Every single thing we tried was…read moreincredible. The sandwiches were fresh and packed with flavor, the pot pies were rich, creamy, and pure comfort food, and the appetizers were the perfect start to the meal. The whipped Parmesan mashed potatoes deserve their own standing ovation. They were unbelievably creamy, cheesy, and easily some of the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. And don't even get me started on the sweet pies... BOMB! They were the perfect ending to an already amazing meal. To top it all off, our waitress, Sophie C, was an absolute gem! She was friendly, attentive, and made sure our entire experience was perfect from start to finish. If you're anywhere near Baton Rouge, do yourself a favor and eat at Elsie's Plate & Pie. We'll definitely be back for the food the people and the ambiance!

I wish I could leave a better review! Quite disappointed, sadly…read more Very clean and very cute!! I've heard amazing things from multiple reviews and was so excited. (Visiting from out of town). Expected a wait, 20 minutes, no problem! Another 15 to place our order, and another 25 to receive our food. We were there over an hour before we got any food. Ooffff... it's fine. We're laid back and can roll with the punches-they're busy and staff was friendly-it'll all be worth it when the food rocks our socks. Sadly...no. Both grilled cheeses (entrees) were room temp and the cheese was already hardening. It felt as if they had forgotten to deliver the food. Waitress was so kind and took the one off our check. It was appreciated. Boudin balls were great!! Bedford and remoulade sauces were okay. Parmesan potatoes were good!! Brussel sprouts and fries were fine-would have been better if served hot, I think. We did the pie flight and they were all good. Not mind blowing, but good. I always give out second chances-public service and food service is tough and sometimes you just have off days. Worth checking out if you live in town!! But if you're just passing through, maybe just get some pie to go.

Enjoyed my visit here for happy hour. We ordered the Rib Stack, Hot Honey Wings, Veggie Fried Rice,…read moreHot Honey Chicken Bao Bun, and Crispy Fish Bao Bun. Overall, everything was good. The standout for me was the veggie fried rice. It had great flavor, and I'd honestly come back for that alone. The Snake Wrangler drink was also a favorite. The only downside was the hot honey. It was very light on both the wings and the bao bun, so the flavor didn't come through as much as expected. Service was efficient and attentive. It's a nice, quaint spot with a cozy patio and indoor seating. Still a solid happy hour option, and I'd definitely return.

Started with hot sake and crispy pig ears. Perfection as always. I tried the new moon fire…read moredumplings...no steam or heat coming from them upon arrival. Try one and they are stone cold but good flavor. I asked Courtney the server if they were meant to be served room temperature (first time having so wasn't Sure). She takes the whole bowl. A nice little bit later my bowl is returned just as my tikka masala queso Is arriving. From the looks of my bowl and the broth it was nuked. Heated in the microwave which was annoying bc I wanted to try these fresh for the first time and also more importantly I ordered them with intentions of eating 2 now and taking the other 3 to go so I could enjoy my queso there. Dumplings can't and shouldn't reheated multiple times over and especially not even once at the restaurant that's serving them. I was honestly just hoping they would have dropped a fresh hot spoon or two of the broth : sauce they were in. Very upsetting for the evening because I was excited to try something new

I had really been looking forward to trying Parrain's Seafood, but unfortunately my experience was…read moredisappointing. Our waitress, Kate M., didn't have the best customer service. She came across as short, unfriendly, and overall not very pleasant. I first ordered a Banana Foster's Martini, but she came back and said they didn't have the ingredients. No problem--I asked for an Espresso Martini instead. A few minutes later, after bringing everyone else's drinks, she returned and simply said they couldn't make that either and asked if I wanted something else. At that point, I just declined. When it was time to order, our table had nine people. She took my husband's order, then went around the table taking everyone else's order. By the time she got back to me, she said, "Okay, is that it?" I had to remind her that she hadn't taken my order yet. I ordered the crab and corn bisque, a salad, and the stuffed catfish with creamed spinach. The salad came out quickly and was very good. Then everyone else at the table received their meals while I only received my bisque. After waiting, I was told my stuffed catfish "didn't come out right" and had to be remade. At that point, I honestly wondered if it was a joke. It wasn't. By the time my entrée arrived, everyone else was nearly finished eating. To the restaurant's credit, they did remove the stuffed catfish from my bill, and I appreciated that. However, the entire experience left me feeling overlooked from start to finish. My biggest suggestion would be for our waitress to work on her customer service. A smile goes a long way. Saying things like "Give me that plate," slamming cups onto the table, and appearing annoyed throughout the meal doesn't create a welcoming dining experience. Hospitality is just as important as the food, and I hope this feedback is taken constructively.
