I went to a picnic and a friend brought these wings to share, and I instantly fell in love. She had to wait over an hour to get her order because it was a Saturday but it was worth the wait. After that awesome experience we decided to visit the store ourselves. It's not in the most desirable place and you don't come here for the atmosphere that's for certain. The inside is dark, and outdated, and very few people who visit actually sit down and stay to eat they just take it to go. For how cheap the food is I understand why they run the way they do. They keep the food in a deli style warming case, don't let this fool you though. Nothing in that case sits for long, and even if they have the food you're ordering in the case chances are people have already purchased it and are waiting for it at the pick up window. Be prepared to wait, but don't worry it's worth it. We came in around 4pm and ooey gooey cake was sold out. So we ended up ordering 12 wings, 12 potato logs, a couple sides of ranch, a bag of cracklins, and a boudin link. Everything was so fresh and delicious. I have yet to have a link of boudin I enjoyed until I had theirs, it was delicious. The potato logs are the size of an extra large potato cut into quarters, and are cooked and seasoned to perfection. You can tell this is a local favorite and rightfully so! Chicken was fresh, spectacularly well-seasoned, and you definitely don't want to get anything less than 25 pieces because you're going to be hooked! First off I will say they have some very good southern style fried wings. Not the best I've ever had, but they aren't far off. They are supposed to be fresh never frozen and they taste as such. "Crack wings", wings so good they are as addictive as crack! (Just repeating what I've been told). Secondly, if you don't want to wait for 30-40 minutes, call ahead. I will say I had a rather large order and it appeared the average wait time was unde10 minutes. Again, if you plan to order over 12 wings, call ahead. The custome service at this location is horrible! I waited over 45 minutes for my food and still didn't get it! at that point I just got my money back ...they skip over your number and then when I asked about my food "oh your ticket must've fell" then when I go back up there the second time they're like "oh we're waiting on logs" ....waited for another 15 minutes a whole pan of logs are up but NOBODY had the decency to even try to fix the food! do better! read more

I have been living in Baton Rouge 27 1/2 years and I have never had the Blue Store (I know I know) until this March and I am hooked! I started coming at least once a week but had to stop because it didn't align with my workout routine They are quick and even if you have to wait it isn't that long but you will smell like fried foods when u leave. I have tried the wings, drumsticks, and the potato logs. Everything is good but the wings are the BEST. Idky the drumsticks taste different ‍ Very affordable! This is the Manchu of Baton Rouge - except it tastes even better! They only offer fried wings and honey bbq(?) sauced wings. My husband was ready to take this place off his list of wingeries when he discovered that they didn't offer super hot sauced wings, but at a friend's insistence we tried them any way. Simply the best chicken wings I have ever tasted, and truly can't imagine how they could be topped. The crispiness of the breading, the seasoning, and level to which the chicken was cooked was all to perfection. In general, I am not a huge fan of chicken because I have been to so many places that over cook it, don't get the flavoring right, and the breading isn't crispy enough.
