Before I accidentally found this place last week, I thought the only local diners were few and far between. This is by far the best breakfast diner in North Austin. Great service, amazing little surprises along the way like bignets, amazing coffee...beautiful restaurant. The bathrooms were clean, the staff really seemed to enjoy their jobs. Thanks guys! read more

Todo es muy rico la comida se siente recién hecha vallan a comer ahí no se arepentiran!!

What a great addition to the neighborhood! We've picked up brunch from here twice since they opened, and both times the process was super easy. Just know on the weekends you will have to order ahead because they're busy. As for their food, everything we've tried has been super tasty. My favorites are their shrimp and grits and the biscuit beignets. Y'all. Those biscuit beignets are addictive. They come with some type of fruit compote for dipping. Mmm. I'll have to grab some again soon! read more

So thankful to have a new Austin place for an American breakfast. Everything we tried was served with a smile and tasty. Afterwards the owner came and checked in with us. Be forewarned you will wait up to an hour and a half to dine. We sat outside and felt safe. They brought us biscuit beignets though as a thank you for patiently waiting for our table and food-nice though. I liked that it had a lot of variety in the both the drink and dining menu. read more

After the disappointing service I received two years ago, my wife convinced me to give it another try. They were busy and it took about 20 minutes to get a seat by the bar, not bad. Then we proceeded to watch everyone seated before and after us get their food. That's 45 to 50 minutes after I was seated. I asked a waitress who wasn't one of the bartenders who was supposed to be taking care of us to check. Then the bartender noticed and came and said she'd check on it as well. They got our food out about 10 minutes later. I talked to a manager and explained how I'd twice had really bad service when they first opened and now I had the same thing happening again. I neither raised my voice nor used angry language, but the manager seemed to take it personally. Or perhaps she thought I was unjustified. Either way, when I asked how they were going to make it right, I got an unenthusiastic, "I'll look into it". She came back after the food was delivered and said they were going to comp the iced coffee I had and gave me a voucher for a free entree. Yes, I want to come back and get bad service and bad dealing with it again. Based on other restaurants that have compensated me for bad service this was lackluster. I've several times had my meal comped for less. I have a bad experience once or twice every three or so years. The last three times have all been at this same restaurant. The food was good, but not great for being $14. The Original Pancake House on Parmer has similar prices, better food, and better service. They are ten times further from my house and still worth it. read more

Went here for brunch on the 4th of July. Anticipated that it would be crowded and it was, however, the trusty waitlist feature through Yelp helped keep our wait to a minimum after we checked in. The space inside is bright and airy and they also have outdoor tables, which is where we sat. The menu is extensive - hard really to decide. I ended up going for the lemon blueberry goat cheese pancakes with a side of home fried potatoes. They also gave us a free serving of the biscuit beignets since it was our first time visiting. The pancakes were flavorful and airy. The goat cheese was a surprise in various bites. The beignets were dense but really good and came with a honey marmalade that added a punch of flavor. The service was fairly slow, but it seems like most places, they are short staffed as we saw a number of servers (including ours) having to do ice runs to the Randall's on the other end of the shopping center. All in all, I would return. Keep an eye on their seasonal menu too - our server said it changes fairly regularly! read more

I would give this place a five for the food. The food is fantastic. The coffee is great. once we were seated today, our waitress was outstanding. I go there often and I have gone there since they opened but the last few times I have been there. I have waited for a table for over 20 minutes while there are empty tables. Today they seated very large parties and similar size parties before they gave us a table when we asked about it, one of the waitresses told us not to worry about it, and was very rude. We asked for the manager just to clarify what was going on. Why there were so many empty tables and few people waiting. He came up and did not speak to us, but definitely spoke to the staff and we were seated immediately at tables that had been empty since we arrived there. The manager never came and spoke to us. I was very disappointed this is one of my favorite breakfast places. read more

We arrived around 10:30 on a Sunday, so I was expecting a long waiting time and to my surprise it was less than 10 minutes. Our waiter did seem to forget about us we had to wait around 15 minutes to get our drink refilled but the food was great I had chicken fried steak and my husband had mango barbacoa. read more

Excellence service, employees go above and beyond to create a great experience. Food is excellent, will be back here for breakfast or brunch! read more

It was ok. Customer service was ok. Food was ok, nothing that would have me come back again to be honest. It was a Saturday morning and I got in queue online while handing that way and still had to wait like 30 more minutes because they took me off the list even after checking with the hostess. Overall, it's just ok. read more

First time at this location of Another Broken Egg Cafe. Kaia was our server and she was outstanding! She greeted us soon after we were seated, made sure our drinks were filled and answered our questions about the menu. All the food was good and came out nice and hot. I had the sunrise scramble with spinach, bacon & onion which came with grits and an English muffin. My husband had the traditional breakfast with ham. His only complaint was about the breakfast potatoes. They were way over seasoned, almost inedible. We shared a pancake which was quite large. Looking forward to going back & trying the beignets, the city grits! read more

Cute little place by the Randall's in a shopping center. Lobster Benedict was amazing - would eat here again!!!!!

First time here. Great experience and food. Our server Suzie was excellent. Will definitely come back.

Had a good time! Our server was great The kitchen was quite slow but it was a holiday so I had grace. Don't recommend the crab cakes, flavor or depth wasn't there. The gluten free pancakes were very fluffy, probably the best I've had but 4.5 out of 5. I think my friend loved her cinnamon roll French toast! Good value. The sausage was also great! read more

My husband and I made a reservation for the soft opening today and could not have been more pleased with the entire experience. We were greeted and seated promptly; the level of customer service was excellent; the menu selections were all so tantalizing; and the food itself was beyond delicious. So many options to choose from - some healthy; some not so healthy - but something for everyone. The coffee was delicious! And loved the cute little personalized coffee mugs the coffee was served in. We were so happy that a new restaurant finally opened up to fill the space vacated by Mangia. Wish the new owners total success with their new venture! Can't wait to go back again. Loved the idea that a donation could be made to benefit the Capital Area Food Bank! What a win-win situation! With the economic downturn associated with the pandemic, there are more people than ever who are needing a little assistance. I'm sorry that there was one reviewer who gave the restaurant a single star without even having tried it. But I am sure that most of the reviews will be very positive. read more

Found this place randomly. Needed breakfast before a day in Austin. Service and ambiance were good. I always prefer a small business traditional breakfast place over a let's be different and trendy place. Seems like the old style joint is harder to find and more trendy then the places that are attempting to be hip. Saying that I will admit this place was really good and I'd go back. Prices were good and was full when we left. Give it a try if you're in the neighborhood read more

Best breakfast, brunch, lunch place ever!!!! Great food, many options to choose from.. you won't be disappointed.

LOVE this place. Our server (Chris) was excellent. The food was hot and seasoned perfectly. The coffee was amazing. The coffee mugs are adorable. And I love the COVID protocols that they are implementing like bringing single servings of condiments to the table instead of having bottles of condiments that hundreds of people have touched. We will definitely be back! read more

This is our second location and it was a great experience like the first visit to the restaurant the employees and the Hostess everyone was always so friendly and nice and helpful when we have questions they have a great manager at the Austin Location and the inside of the restaurant is very attractive and very unique items that i believe you cannot find at other Restaurants read more

Our server Ariel was excellent, she recommended her favorite mimosa and lived up to her recommendations. We loved our Floridian Omelette and the sides as well! read more

We have been here 3 times and each time it has been outstanding. Their eggs benedict is fantastic. The city grits are very tasty. My daughter is a big fan of their chocolate chip pancakes. They have a big menu with just about any breakfast dish you can think of. They have a great selection of coffee drinks and even a variery of mimosa flavors. I highly recommend this place. read more

We ordered takeout a few weeks ago and the food was overall really good! I got the southwest scrambler which was delicious! Only knocking off one star because the beignets were rock hard. Out of a whole order I was only able to eat one, which was surprising because I would have imagined they would have been freshly made on a Sunday morning. Will give it another try sometime. read more

My wife and I enjoy breakfast out, and feel like we know most breakfast restaurants in ATX. While the look of this place is not as special as some (it could be a chain), the staff is the best and the food is the absolute best. We find ourselves heading back here regularly despite there being a host of other options. read more

Great food, great service! Such a wide variety of food to choose from and great drinks too! We all tried different dishes and it was all great! Highly recommend this restaurant. What a great way to start the day!! read more

Another Broken Egg Cafe - Hot chocolate was yummy! - American Near Me - Austin, Texas

So picture this, you wake up, staving and feeling adventurous. Then suddenly you google "best breakfast/ brunch in Austin" into the internet and magically ABE cafe appears on your new iPhone 12. Immediately, you jump in your car and follow the navigation prompting you by your Apple Maps, which leads you to the Mecca of breakfast. Upon entering, you're greeted by warm smells of bacon and the amazingly friendly staff. After vacillating on which of the many menu items you'd like order, you decide on a Lemon Fennel Bloody Mary, Lemon Blueberry Goat Cheese Pancake, the Veggie Delight Omelet (cause helth) and a side of potatoes (cause not helth). Immediately after your first bite you're hit with an endorphin rush, and serotonin levels are at an all time high. The staff works expeditiously to make the entire experience incredible, while also providing a safe clean environment. Next time I'm ordering an uber so I can get intoxicated off of mimosas and syrup. Can't wait to go back!!! read more

This is my new brunch spot! I love everything about this place. Our first time visiting our waitress, Cheyenne, gave us complimentary beignets to try - they were so good! Service is always great and food is even better! The eggs are always cooked perfectly here. After visiting a few times everything we have tried has been absolutely delicious! They even gave me a coffee to go which is going the extra mile and I really appreciate it! read more

Not for those with food allergies! The two stars are for the service - Levi was attentive and patient throughout my visit. Unfortunately, that's all I've got. I have an autoimmune condition, and cook most of my meals at home to ensure they are safe for me to eat. When I do dine out, I always research ahead of time to ensure the restaurant has both suitable options, and has been verified as taking food safety precautions in the kitchen. My research showed me that Another Broken Egg would do just that, unfortunately, it didn't prove true for me today, and want to make sure others suffering from food allergies or sensitivities are aware. I knew to ask for the gluten free menu upon entering, and advised Levi upon ordering that I was dairy and gluten free. I ordered the Veggie Delight Omelette off the gluten free menu, which is supposed to come with grits and gluten free bread. I specifically asked if the grits were pre-mixed with butter (they are), so asked for another option, and settled on fruit and gluten free toast, which I specified as dry (in addition to the initial dairy free callout). Wait time was a bit above average for the lack of crowd - probably close to 20 minutes for food to come out. When it arrived, the first thing I noticed was the pack of butter on the side with my toast - suspicious, but fine. The bigger problem was the POOL of butter my omelet was sitting in. The omelet itself looked incredible - plenty of mushrooms, tomatoes, and spinach baked into the egg, with goat cheese inside. I flagged Levi down, he confirmed it was indeed cooked with butter, and had it re-cooked in oil. The second omelet came out very quickly, and did not appear to be cooked in butter, but was pretty pathetic compared to the first - maybe a tablespoon of chopped tomatoes cooked in, I counted 3 leaves of spinach, and a few sliced mushrooms. No goat cheese at all. Levi quickly brought me a side of goat cheese to add myself, but the entire experience was beyond disappointing, especially given the reviews and the menu had such great promise. The icing on the cake? A $24 bill for said omelet and ~8oz of plain decaf coffee. Sadly, I will not be returning, and if you have any food restrictions, I recommend you don't either. read more

Great service and good food. I love sitting out on the patio and meeting other diners' dogs! Whether you want to sit inside or out, definitely get on the waitlist ahead of time. This place stays busy, especially on weekends and holidays. I want to thank Mariah in particular for smooth service on a packed 4th of July! read more

It was fine but not 4.5/5 stars- everything was really heavy and I literally didn't finish one thing except the beignets which were also heavy- not light and flakey. Love crab Benedict but this was muddled flavor with bell pepper overtaking everything - won't be back. read more

Brunch was great at Another Broken Egg. Our waitress, Mariah, was excellent. Would definitely visit again.
