Something to know before going here is that this place is outdoor only. Even though I went in Summer because the fans were going it didn't feel very hot. You order on a kiosk and then it took about 15 minutes for our two orders to be ready. There's plenty of seating and parking wasn't hard either. I got the egg and biscuit. I've had better biscuits, but it was a decent breakfast option. I also got an apricot iced tea, but it really didn't taste like apricot it kind of just tasted like peach.
I've driven by this location so many times since my first review and have really wanted to give them another try. There happened to be an open parking space, so I popped in. Since my issue has been with the biscuit, I chose to order a biscuit with jam. Go simple. I was very happy with my selection. I'm not sure if it is because I was eating it in halves, so that I was biting down on the soft part of the biscuit first or not, since part of my issue was the texture of the outside of the biscuit. But, regardless, the biscuit was soft, a nice size, and the jam was perfectly portioned to cover the full biscuit. It was a very nice dining experience. The next time I drive by, should there be parking, I may stop by and venture some other menu item. Let's see if I can get this rating up to 5 stars. :)
Yelp ranked Bird Bird Biscuit one of the top 100 restaurants in the US in 2026...for good reason! The Koenig location is small but functional. All seating is outside with coverings. Omar, the manager, was contemplating the location of two umbrellas to be delivered. Bird Bird operates a tech-oriented process...You order online at kiosk, get a text when you order is ready, and grab your meal from the Order pickup window. Bird Bird biscuits are in a league of their own...these biscuits are buttery, dense, light, huge, and flaky with a crispy exterior. The hubs and I ordered the Theodore (fried chicken breast, bacon, BBQ sauce). This biscuit sandwich was divine! The flavor, the textures, the size! We also ordered an extra biscuit for good measure. For desserts, we ordered the dough doughs (biscuit doughnut holes tossed in cinnamon sugar) ...similar to a beignet but denser.
Order online! It was a hot day and I'm so glad I ordered ahead and was able to eat in my air conditioned apartment. Great food. Fries were meh. I wouldn't get it again.
It was a Thursday morning, 9:30am. Parking lot was empty, I thought it might be closed, but I didn't realize how lucky I was. No wait to order using the kiosk and the friendly lady at the counter asked me if I wanted my coffee while I waited for my Bird Bird bacon. I did, and the coffee satisfied me, for now. The sign said the wait was 15 minutes, but in reality it was 4. Hot biscuit, tender chick and crispy bacon. Cheese and special sauce added to it and it was a 10 out of 10. Nice little breeze on the covered patio where I sat alone. I'm sure that on a Saturday this place is packed and there is a pickup window line sign, so that must be a thing, but today it was serene and I liked it.
Bird Bird Biscuit has amazing biscuit sandos as well as delicious gravy. There are 2 lines in place. One is an order line where you walk up and place your digital order, while the other line is for order pick up. We ordered 2 breakfast type biscuits and one chicken. It's an open air business. So seating is limited and it isn't guaranteed as it is on a first come, first served basis. The food was good and it filled us up where we weren't exaggeratingly full. The ambiance was chill and laid back.
TL;DR: Wow! I would totally come back here, and I would recommend it to a friend. Food: I ordered the Carolina Caviar and is really something! I was skeptical of the biscuit bun because I'm not usually a fan of biscuits for their dryness, but these biscuits were quite good. They had a nice softness to them, and I didn't feel like my mouth was getting dried out. The piece of chicken they give you is huge! It's got a really nice crunch from the skin, and the chicken itself is quite juicy. To top it all off, the sauce is really good too -- you can definitely get a bit of tang to it. I was full :) These are genuinely some of the best fries I've had before! The seasoning on them is evenly coated and adds a nice bit of flavor. They have a nice crispiness on the outside and softness on the inside: there's a really good balance where they aren't too crispy or too mushy. Service: This place is really good for introverts! You can either order on your phone or at a little tablet machine, so it's super simple and doesn't involve much waiting at all. You get a text when your order is ready, and you just go up to a window to pick it up. You just sit wherever you like. Minimal human interaction to get your food. Ambiance: While it is all outdoor seating, it is nice because it is fully shaded. There is some nice greenery on the side, which attracts some cute little birds too. It's a nice chill spot to get out of the heat.
Very tasty sandwiches which will keep you full for hours! They can be easily ordered and customized on the kiosk tablets and there's a parking lot in front. I ordered the queen beak with cheddar and the bbq sauce on the side along with the house apricot sweet tea which was a must. Sandwich was very good but I would recommend using a tangy sauce if they have one or a mayonnaise on the sandwich, the bbq sauce i think is too much.
Did not dine in but enjoyed the Lovely Day biscuit! The biscuits were soo good, buttery crispy but still soft! My sandwich was basil pesto, eggs and sausage. Was delicious. I'd like to dine in one day - next visit to ATX!
The chicken biscuits are so good and so filling!!!! I love how buttery the biscuits are!! They are a little pricey but you get a huge portion- I couldn't even finish mine!! I wish they had more seating though
I stopped by for a pickup order, and everything was smooth from start to finish. It was easy to order and the gentleman at the pickup window was friendly. My food was ready right on time, fresh, and piping hot. I ordered the Queen Beak and the Carolina Caviar--and wow, both sandwiches seriously delivered. The biscuits were buttery, fluffy, and had just the right amount of crisp on the outside. The fried chicken was perfectly cooked--crispy on the outside, juicy and tender inside, and packed with flavor. Every bite felt like comfort food done right. The shop itself is small and charming, with outdoor seating and easy parking, which is a huge plus in Austin. I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu--this place is a gem!
This location has some parking in front and to the side and if that's not enough there's plenty of street parking nearby. We ordered using the QR code by the front (you can also use the kiosk). Our order was not ready by the time it said 15-20 minutes but only took 25 minutes (for 3 sandwiches and an order of fries). It was ready after a few people who had ordered after us had already gotten their meals. Seating is limited (only outside in the shade) but we were able to share one of the picnic tables with another party. The biscuits were some of the best I've ever had. We tried 3: The Queen Beak, Firebird, and Carolina Caviar. The Firebird was quite spicy and I wouldn't have been able to eat it myself (closer to 4* than 3.5* spicy as it builds fast). Frankly, just getting a biscuit with honey would be phenomenal but the chicken sandwiches were all very good. The hatch green chili was so flavorful and very plentiful on the Caroline Caviar. The fries I would not get again - they were pretty meh.
This was by far the best vegetarian chicken biscuit. The dill mayo, spicy pickles, and cilantro were a nice addition. But honestly, I could have eaten this alone without the biscuits and garnishes. But no, we don't want to do that because all the ingredients together make it one of a kind. So I most definitely want the extras! The veg chicken had the perfect meaty taste and texture. To top it off, it was very crispy on the outside. It's a big breakfast sandwich with so much flavor. You'll need a big bite for this one. The biscuits are also a standalone; they have the right amount of flavor, softness, and flakiness. I like that it's not the perfect round biscuit. It's more of a square with soft edges. Also, this is a sit-outdoors place with a lot of shade. It's pretty out there, and it's in the perfect neighborhood. I enjoyed watching the comings and goings up and down Koening Street. I want to add that you don't need to worry about parking; it's easy. People are always coming and going, so you'll definitely have a space. read more
delicious chicken biscuit sandwich spot. i love the vibes of the seating area with a couple of picnic tables under shade and fans. may not be optimal for bad weather days. i tried the theodore sandwich. the biscuit was fluffy and buttery, one of the best i've had in a while. the chicken itself was juicy and tender but i couldn't taste the bbq sauce as much as i would've liked. i did think the sandwich was on the smaller size for the price it costed. the fries were pretty good but also not a lot for the price it costed. i would def love to come back to try a different sandwich. read more

Bird Bird Biscuit is the kind of spot that makes you wonder why biscuits aren't a bigger part of everyday life. The biscuits are fluffy, buttery, and packed with flavor, and the chicken is crispy on the outside while staying juicy inside. Everything tastes super fresh, and the portions are definitely satisfying. The combination of the biscuit, fried chicken, and sauces just works. It's a little messy to eat, but honestly, that's part of the experience. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Austin and craving a solid breakfast sandwich or some serious comfort food. Would definitely come back. read more

My body is thankful I don't live close to a Bird Bird Biscuit, but my tastebuds weep. I had an appointment near this location so I finally decided to give it a try. SO GOOD. This most delicious bacon, eggs and cheese biscuit I ever had. The biscuit is thick, soft, nice crust on the outside. The eggs (I got mine over hard) and bacon are perfectly cooked. Add the melty cheese and some honey drizzled over every delicious bite ooooweeee!! I think about this biscuit more times than what's probably considered normal. I got the bacon infused chipotle mayo on the side. It's yummy, but I'm not really a mayo on my breakfast sandwich kind of girl. When I went there was no line. I ordered at a kiosk and waited maybe 10 minutes for my order. From what I can tell there's no inside seating. The seating area outside is covered but small. Luckily it was a pleasant morning when I went. read more

We appreciate you :) Thank you for the support!
I've been wanting to try out Bird Bird for a while now and finally got an opportunity on a recent Sunday work day. The location on Koenig Lane is pretty busy so parking can be a challenge but it's worth the visit. I ordered the Firebird and was not disappointed. The chicken was juicy and done to a perfect point and not overcooked at all. There was just the right amount of breading on the outside and beautifully crisp. The spicy mayo and sweet pickles appropriately complimented the sandwich, surrounded by fluffy biscuit halves. My only nitpick might be that I'd love some more of that mayo here. The problem with biscuit sandwiches (the whole category, not just this restaurant) is that the biscuits by nature are crumbly. I wonder if a little more mayo might get it to stay together better? Mine unfortunately came apart in the middle of the meal, but no matter, it was all pretty darn tasty. The only miss for me was the fries, cooked crispy but a bit overseasoned. I'm not a fan of seasoned fries generally. It would be nice to see these done sans seasoning and let the potato flavor shine through or paired with an optional sauce or gravy. Service was fast and friendly. There is a shaded outdoor dining area if you need a place to land during your meal. Overall, a great place to grab a quick sandwich. Recommended. read more

Home of Austin's homegrown chicken-biscuit, don't forget to order online and snag a seat at one of their two locations. Taking the Southern staples with 4 variations on a theme, you could pick one for every day of the shortened work-week. Queen Beak is my usual go-to (spicy, sweet), but this visit I got wild and tried the Theodore (like a bacon cheddar burger, but with chicken and BBQ!). It's comfort food, fast and happy. read more

Extremely disappointing experience. My wife and I hadn't been to Bird biscuit since Covid. We saw that they had multiple locations now and decided to go back. The experience was nowhere near the same as the first. It seems they may be gone to a pre-breaded chicken. Extremely Underwhelming in all aspects. The biscuits were still good, but unfortunately, the location was packed busy. It took forever to get our food and then everything was lukewarm. We tried some of their chicken sausage which was to say the least gross. Luckily the Biscoff cookie was amazing and the strawberry lemonade was good as well kind of hard to mess that last one up. And the absolute highlight of the experience were the fries, but unfortunately, probably won't be going back anytime soon just to get fries. read more

BAY-BEE! Let me tell you, CONSISTENTLY DELICIOUS. Me and my partner has been here so many times. We have to o limit ourselves to no more than a certain amount times a month. I always always get the Queen Beak. If I don't get the Queen Beak, I'll get the biscuit with the jam and side of bacon. So delicious and so filling! There's always people but they push orders fairly quickly. The staff are always pleasant and friendly. read more
Worth the hype! As we were driving, I was trying to place an order for the other location, but things were "selling out" as I was trying to order (it was nearing closing time). We decided to reroute and go to the other location. My order made it through! The order was ready super quick, but we still en route. On arrival we went to the window to get the food and ate at the available seating. The biscuits were the best I have ever had - so big, fluffy and tender. The chicken and the toppings were also incredible. When combined, it was pretty mind blowing. They are quite big, so I split one with my husband and was glad I did since we were eating our way across Austin all weekend. I had the queen beak and tried a bite of the firebird. The dill was so refreshing on the firebird and the sweet honey with spicy mayo worked perfectly on the queen beak. The sandwiches were super messy and I was afraid to take out of the paper. Grab your napkins, etc before they are taken away if you come near closing time. Pickles were really good, I just wish I had ordered more as the portion was small. The biscuit and jam I tried later on, and it was also a good choice. To wash it all down, the apricot sweet tea was a nice alternative to other flavors. read more

I returned to Bird Bird Biscuit while out on a ride with my husband. He placed the order online in advance so that when we got there it would be ready. When we got there it was a little earlier than we expected. He spoke to the person at the window and she told him he'd get a text when the food was ready. We found a place to sit and waited a few minutes and then he got the text. This time around I ordered the Queen Beak which has a piece of fried chicken, honey, and chipotle mayo. I also ordered a plain biscuit with strawberry jam. The Queen Beak is really good. The chicken is a good size and tender on the inside. The biscuit is soft, warm, and thick. The honey and chipotle mayo in the biscuit creates a sweet and spicy flavor. It was delicious. The plain biscuit was warm and thick. It was perfect with the strawberry jam which is sweet but not too sweet. Overall it was an easy experience all around. Online ordering was easy, pickup was easy and the food was delicious. Definitely will return in the future. read more

Worst experience ever. Waited over 40 mins as a pregnant woman with a two year told when it originally said it would be 20-30 mins. I finally went to the window to ask about it and they said it wasn't anywhere close to ready. I asked for a refund and they said they'll get to it when they can and it could be 3-5 business days. Now I have to keep checking my account to make sure they did it. When I went back to my car and put my toddler in her car seat, I get a text that my food is ready. So I got my daughter out of the car again (spots are not even big enough to get car door open very far) and went to the window saying I got a text. They said it's not ready and they cancelled my order. I asked why I got the text saying it's ready and they didn't know. read more

Decent! Their biscuits are really good, and the sandwich overall is alright. Casual but very small spot. You might have to park in the neighborhood and walk over. I'd expect to grab and go next time. You just order on your phone or at the counter. It's slow, but I'd give it another try. read more
