My boyfriend was visiting, so I planned to have lunch together with my sister at Angkor Wok. Neither of them had been to this restaurant before. Plus, this is only the second time my boyfriend ate Cambodian food outside of my house. We ordered the Angkor Chicken Wings, House Special Fried Rice (with chicken, shrimp, and eggs), the Fried Whole Fish (served with tamarind sauce, Kos Kong sauce; a ginger sauce with salted soy bean sauce), and the Angkor Wok Hot Pot (combination of meats and vegetables soup served with their house special sauce) to share between the three of us. Our server gave us a heads up that the Fried Whole Fish would take the longest to make, which was good to know! I really enjoyed the Angkor Chicken Wings and House Special Fried Rice. The wings were HOT and so juicy! The Angkor Wok Hot Pot was a bit underwhelming, but it was still good. I don't think I would order this specific hot pot next time.

Food was tasty everything came out fresh and hot. We got the popcorn chicken, beef skewers, and wide beef noodles. Decor is so nostalgic of your classic Asian Setup with the vibrant fake flowers and karaoke playing on the tv, I love it! Friendly staff and great service. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area!

Wanted to try this place because I havent had cambodian food much at all before and so much of what they have here is new to me. We picked kinda randomly off the menu but everything was great!

It was great to see so many tables filled this time around--Angkor Wok truly deserves all the praise for bringing Cambodian cuisine to the Seattle area! This was my third visit, and as always, the staff was attentive and friendly, and the food did not disappoint. If you haven't been yet, don't wait--this place is a must-try. And be sure to mention SeattleFoodieAdventure on IG for a discount on your bill!

As a Cambodian American, this is as good as you can get in Seattle for affordable authentic Khmer food. The nom ba chok is my favorite. It could use more prahok but I understand it's mild down for the American pallet. The staff is sweet and attentive. Price is reasonable. Decor is cute, fun and gives off a tropical, fun vibe. Location is great, however the street parking can be a downside. The bathrooms are clean.

Absolutely loved the vibe here--bright, vibrant, and full of tropical charm. From the lush floral walls to the scenic mural, the space makes you feel like you're on vacation before your food even hits the table. We ordered several dishes, and everything came out quickly and piping hot. Highlights for me were: Egg Noodles with Beef - This was the showstopper! Perfectly cooked wide rice noodles with tender beef, crisp veggies, and a slight char from the wok. So flavorful and comforting. Popcorn Chicken - Crispy, seasoned well, and topped with fresh herbs. A great starter or snackable plate. Egg Rolls - Golden and crunchy with a solid dipping sauce. Bonus: the lettuce wrap touch is always appreciated. Steak Salad - Packed with flavor and definitely has a kick! If you like spice, this one's for you. Service was warm and welcoming. Even though they were out of a few things we originally wanted and we didn't get a water refill, the staff was friendly and attentive with our orders overall. Would absolutely come back--especially for those noodles. Solid spot for a cozy lunch or casual dinner with friends!

Quiet when we went for Friday dinner but central to U District. The salad was so fresh and tangy, so many herbs, just how I enjoy southeast asian food. But the hot pot was lighter on flavor than expected and I wish there was more produce put into it. Beware that the large rice is nearly a whole pot of rice. My friend and I got it to share and barely made a dent.

Pretty good spot. Nice and spacious! When I came in on a Sunday afternoon, a lot of the items like the beef skewers were out so I tried the phnom penh noodle soup and the papaya salad. My favorite of the two food items has got to be the papaya salad. The soup was good though too. I definitely want to come back to try other dishes.

Luckily we stopped here for some delicious food today. Chicken is moist and flavorful. There is spacious seating and the owner is one of the nicest people. You can just tell from his demeanor he cares about his craft and his clientele.

Yum!! Came upon this place when looking for a quick bite before a movie. Had the Cha Mi Suor and it was delicious! Couldn't stop eating it, even though I was quickly stuffed. The mushrooms had so much umami flavor. There are a lot of great looking dishes on the menu, and I hope to try more in the future. Note, they served beer & wine, but wine was crazy expensive. $15/glass for low quality brands. We stuck with beer for $5.

It was such a cute spot and the owner was very sweet! Everything came out in a timely manner, and it was all so flavorful. We ordered four items total, left full but not heavy. I could understand how parking can be an issue, but we went in the middle of the day on Wednesday. Definitely not busy then! My only gripe is that they didn't check in on us as often as I'd like, especially when we were out of water. Regardless, I'd go back! They have a vast menu, so I would love to try more of what they have.

I found this place through a popular local foodie influencer and while I usually and cautious about influencer recommended places, I am so glad I tried this place. The food is so delicious and portions huge- such a good value! I love how spacious the place is. Service was awesome and friendly. I hope the influencer plug brings more business because this is a local gem that is truly underrated! I especially loved the beef luc lac and dry noodles. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes!

This restaurant is fire! The food is amazing and the service is fast and friendly. There aren't many Khmer restaurants around and I happen to come across this restaurant by accident. I've been here Twice now and will continue to come back. They have many great comfort dishes. I highly recommend the stuff chicken wings and the beef with prohok dip. So good!

I am showing my age by saying the restaurant is VERY LOUD, and our table was in a very dark spot in the restaurant. Oddly, they didn't have enough table lamps for all the dark tables. Our server said they "ran out". How does that happen? I stalked a departing table to take their rechargeable lamp. Anyway, my expectations were likely too high going in, and I was annoyed before even ordering, turning on our cellphone light to read the menu. The food is pretty good, though not mind-blowing good like the reviews suggest, and we had one bad dish. They offer varied Khmer dishes beyond noodle varieties, which is a plus. Go if you are looking for variety, skip the fish, bring ear plugs, and hope you have a brighter table than ours. Parking is street only. 3 Stars for the food, minus 1 star for the restaurant environment (unrelated to staff) The Food: k'tiss dip with crudités, $18 - 4 Stars We chose the marrow stone blue oyster mushroom option - p'set. The mushrooms are sautéed in Khmer seasonings, fermented bean curd, and coconut milk. The veggies are mildly pickled. They paired surprisingly well and a unique dish to try. kroeung kumeraage, $15 - 4 Stars This dish has an option of fried chicken or fried mushrooms. We chose the chicken since we already had mushrooms. Kroeung is the Khmer seasoning. Our server said this dish and papaya salad are amongst the most popular. Since we have a veggie dish, we chose this over the papaya salad (which looks great, too). The chicken is lightly fried, not crispy outside, super tender, and paired well with the kroeung aioli. trei chmouy tuk tei omperi, $40 - 1 Star The menu says serves 2 but not really. The is a pan seared fish, make your own fish wrap. We did not know we ordered a DIY dish, which is ok in principle, just not good to be surprised. The menu doesn't say so; the server didn't mention it. Luckily, by this time of the meal, we have acquired the little table lamp, which enabled me to see the long fish bones that had not been removed. FIVE of them. The noodles are a pathetic overcooked limp pile. The best part is the turmeric sauce. Do not order this dish. Epilogue: I happened to walk by Sophon this past weekend. I was surprised to see a sign saying they are temporarily closed to resolve internal issues. (See photo) That is never a good reflection of management. There is now a GoFundMe for the unpaid staff who had to quit their jobs.

The sayap ayam pedas was a huge portion for just 2 people, but we couldn't stop eating. The combination of soy sauce and fish sauce was not overpowering at all and the chicken itself was so juicy. The chicken curry in the nasi lemak was delicious with the coconut rice. Along with the anchovies, egg, peanuts, and sambal, it was a choose-your-own-adventure kind of bite. The kaya toast was the perfectly sweet dish to balance out all the flavors. I especially loved dipping it in the poached egg for a satisfyingly runny bite. Fortunately I was in the SLU/South Queen Anne area, but I can totally seeing it being really difficult to find parking when it gets really busy during peak hours. The only parking options nearby are streetside parking with some paid lots - would recommend public transportation to get here to try the place out. Service was fast - this could also be attributed to going on a weekday, we were able to receive our food in about 8 - 10 minutes after ordering. Ambiance is cozy, feels like a casual dine in with lots of natural lighting and the decoration is charming. We got two items, which I'll review down below: Granny's Pork Belly Baos ($8): A tasty bun! The pork was tender and was nicely complemented by the slightly tart apples and floral plum sauce. The buns were light and fluffy and the green onion and cilantro provided a fresh herb taste. I think that $4 per bun is pretty standard price wise for two buns of this quality, and they service a pleasant appetizer. Village Bowl ($16): The Village Bowl is a vermicelli bowl that has all of the fixings - serves as a nice sampler into the types of meats that the restaurant has to offer. It was delicious! The meats were not too heavily salted, flavored well, and were cooked nicely. Portion-wise is decent and would maybe fill most people up. I think that maybe a little larger was would be perfect as I still left a little bit hungry after this bowl and an appetizer. I would say that Meekong Bar is pretty solid if you are looking for Vietnamese food in the SLU/upper belltown area. I think the thing that Meekong Bar has going for it is mostly the price, as other Vietnamese restaurants in the area charge much more ($4 - $6 more) for the same dishes. I would definitely come back to try the other options that this restaurant has to offer.

The Food and Drinks: Beef Loklak Rice Plate, $20 - 5 Stars This is a hardy dish with flavorful pieces of beef, a fried egg, fresh greens, rice, and a bowl of soup. The food has very good wok hei like a Hong Kong noodle dish. I had plenty of noodles left to make a second dinner after adding veggies and protein. Beef Skewers, $18 - 4.5 Stars Five good size skewers with a dallop of pickled veggies. The seasonings are very distinctive. Oddly, the flavor reminds me of some Chinese style beef jerky. In any case, these are smoky, savory, and yummy. Papaya Salad, $16 - 4.5 Stars They use all the real, authentic ingredients here, including bits of tiny baby crabs.
