I was craving some Khmer food and came across Angkor Wok. I ordered a few dishes, like the Kuy Teav Phnom Penh noodles, Chicken wings, and Beef Lok Lak. First off, the parking! There is no parking! I think it would be way better if there was some parking for the restaurant instead of customers having to worry about getting towed or ticket. The place it self looked very roomy, and my order was all prepared and done when I arrived. For the food, the chicken wings were the best part for me. Lots of flavor, super good with some jasmine rice. I wasn't a big fan of the noodles and lok lak, because the noodles were a bit bland and the lok lak, seem like they used some old beef? Not the best Asian wings I've ever had, but the portions and the size of the wings were definitely generous. The skin was really nice and crunchy, and it was seasoned pretty well. The only qualm is that the seasoning was not consistent, with some chicken wings being lathered with sauce while others being pretty dry. But overall, not a bad appetizer at all. I would highly recommend this, even as an entree itself! Ok, so now let's move to the somewhat lackluster: My dish, which was the chicken curry noodles was just ok. I spent a lot of time fishing for the chicken, and the noodles were not flavorful at all. I think I spent more time picking out the bay leaves from the dish then actually enjoying it. The broth was decent, but it got boring pretty fast, and it was really oily on top of that. Overall, maybe not the finest dish. The bento box, which my wife got, was decent as well. However, she complained that the rice was cold (say whatttt?) like it was sitting out for a long time. That's really disappointing, especially on a cold winters day where we're looking to get something to warm ourselves. But the meat wasn't too bad, and again, the portions were pretty generous. I'm sitting on a fence between a 3 and 4-star review, but the quality of the chicken wings push this review to the latter. Nice Cambodian spot a bit off of the Ave! Came in for a quick pre-movie meal and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Inside is very clean and fairly large, though we were the only ones there. This is some of the best food I've had in Seattle and I dare you to find better washed salad greens in the entire US. Stopped in for a to-go bento that came with black pepper steak, fried rice, and salad. The steak was tender and rich, decadent even. Ok and now the salad. This is a humble side salad but I could tell the leaves had been washed and selected carefully. First time trying Cambodian food. I chose this place among others due to the many reviews saying that place is authentic. Can't speak to that but I can say that the food was very delicious. I got the lemongrass stew with beef, beef tripe & beef intestine. The stew was sour and tasted like Thai Tom Yum soup but was a bit denser and a lot meatier. This place needs more love and attention. How is there still less than 50 reviews and so empty during dinner time when the food is so good? I went with a large group to get their daily special for today - the Cha Kreung (1 chicken, 1 beef), Amok Trei, Angkor chicken wings, and Machu Kreung. We also got a large rice - highly recommend as the large portion has a lot of rice! Cha Kreung is a lemongrass stir fry and it has lots of vegetables. I love lemongrass and they use a good amount. I liked the beef more than the chicken here. As it was the special for today, the price of this dish was $5 less than the menu posted price. Amok trei was interesting - we expected more of a curry but it was more of curry-spiced steamed fish, but it was nonetheless fresh and flavorful. Angkor chicken wings were a fairly large order. For $17.95 it is good though I'd love if they had a half order option if I solo dine or eat with a smaller group. I like the slightly crispy texture with fish sauce, a variation to a Korean fried chicken. The Machu Kreung is a hot pot dish - this is my favorite dish out of the ones we ordered. There is a lot of vegetables as well as beef and tripe inside. The soup is sooooo flavorful - a little bit tangy but balances well with the lemongrass, ginger, and other spices present. Total including 18% tip was about $16 per person. Family style is the way to go, as the portions for each dish are fairly large so you don't need more than 1 dish per person. Service is excellent and food is tasty. I will definitely go again to try out more dishes. read more

The Salaw Manchu Kroeung or Cambodian Sour Beef Soup had melt-in-your-mouth tripe with juicy meat. Though my favorite ingredient in the soup is the morning glory. I wouldn't have minded as much if the service was great, but service was horrible. The server (assume it to be the daughter) wasn't friendly, attentive and never apologized for our food taking so long. One dish took over 30 minutes to come out after the other dishes arrived, despite us being the only other table in the restaurant. UW students like authentic Asian food and would make the trek for it since it's a bit of a trek from main campus. I got the Phnomh Penh noodle soup it was sweet but similar to other Cambodian soups. I'm use to more seafood in the soup. We got the Mee Katang stir fried noodle dish with shrimp and was very sweet. The vegetables were well cooked and there was a handful of shrimp in it. The fruit smoothie had coconut water and a frozen berry mix. It was pretty good. The prices are high - the two dishes and a smoothie made it almost $50 before tip.
