Came to visit Seattle all the way from Lowell, MA and I have to say this restaurant is more authentic and consistently delicious in all their dishes & so much better compared to the Cambodian restaurants in Lowell.. and that speaks volumes since Lowell has the 2nd most Cambodian population in the US whereas Angkor Wok in Seattle is a 11/10 for food and 10/10 for decor and ambience and 10/10 for customer service. Thank you Angkor Wok for helping to make Cambodian cuisine more well known for people to try. They have super cute backdrops for pictures and good space for booking small-medium sized parties. Was craving some Khmer food when visiting Seattle. Searched up yelp and this restaurant popped up since it was close to our proximity. We were so happy to even experience a Khmer restaurant because there's none in Hawaii. We ordered the somlar machu kreung, prahok ktiss, and their cha kreung chicken that was on special. Everything was delicious and because we had leftovers, I really wanted ask them to pack it up for the plane ride home lol. We were in early afternoon and it was mostly empty, but a steady stream of delivery drivers came in and we were never alone in the restaurant. It was clean and they were friendly, fast and I liked the atmosphere. The location has paid parking across the street. This place should be much busier as the food is fabulous. I was very happy and excited to try Angkor Wok due to my Cambodian heritage. The restaurant is located in University District near University of Washington in Seattle and offers an extensive menu that reaches beyond Khmer cuisine; for my first visit I stuck to Khmer dishes and they all tasted authentic and flavorful. It seems that the restaurant is family owned - I hope they continue to do well and look forward to future visits. Specific dishes we tried include: * Cambodian Noodle Soup - a lunchtime staple, the dish came authentically prepared with a variety of goodies in the noodle bowl (shrimp, bean sprouts, etc.) and broth on the side. Overall flavorful and a reasonable serving size. * Samlaw Mchu Kreung - also a Cambodian staple, sort of a soup with pork meat that can be served over rice. I was happily surprised with this one, especially the taste and freshness of the spices. Some restaurants I've been to have struggled to produce this dish with that homemade authentic flavor. It was really quite good and I hope to eat it again soon! * Prahok Ktiss with Vegetables - another Cambodian classic, but not for the faint of heart - the dish is based off a paste of fermented fish which can have a pungent smell to some. It is then lathered with a multitude of curry-like spices and an abundance of coconut milk, and prepared as a dip for the veggies. This one also tasted quite authentic and was served in a generous portion size. I would have preferred a tiny bit more coconut taste, but all things considered it had lots of great flavor and taste. The owners were very kind and checked in with us to make sure the food was to our liking and to meet any dietary restrictions we had. I will definitely come back and try more things on the menu. This place is a little out of the way from the Ave but it's got great decor and food! I had the kor koh with french bread which is basically braised beef stew. It was superb and the service was great too. You'll feel like you're in a slice of Cambodia! There's also various other asian dishes as well so you can probably get whatever asian food you'd desire. We catered a party from here and Bon was such a pleasure to work with. He helped us select a great menu for the party. The Angkor Wat wings were the first to go; they were so delicious. Papaya Salad was spicy and flavorful and the Lemongrass beef was a big hit. We had some gluten intolerant guests and the Cha Mi Suor was perfect for everyone. The service, however, was devastatingly terrible. Not only did the food not come for 45 minutes when we were one of four tables in use for lunch, but no one checked in on us at all the entire time or let us know the status of the food. We ordered two dishes, and only one had come by the time we paid and left. No one apologized for the slow service or gave us a discount or even mentioned why it had been so terrible. Pricey for the portion, protein content. The flavor is ok, not worth coming back. I ordered the Cha Mi Sorh, extremely disappointed with the dish. $24.95, way over price. Very little protein and portion. Nearly $10 more than Thai or Chinese noodle dish but half the portion and very skimpy on the meats. Many places serve whole shrimp, this was a small shrimp cut into smaller prices. Felt totally ripped off. One time try. I'm Cambodian and I recently moved nearby. I wanted to try some food that reminded me of my Mom's cooking. I was not disappointed, I tried the Curry Noodles that came with fresh chopped cucumbers, bean sprouts, chicken, carrots, potatoes AKA ( Nom Banh Chok)(pronounced Nom - Bah - Jok). We just came back from Angkor Wok and I'm very eager to post this review. We went there for a lunch (around 1:00pm), ordered Cha Kreung and Fish Amok for the main course and "chicken wings stuffed with pork" as a starter (cannot recall the name). Food was absolutely excellent! We've been told upfront that A-Mok takes about 15min or so, but we decided to wait for it. Indeed, after about 15min our food arrived. Ambient is lovely, fresh, specious. Staff is super friendly. I should mention that we came back from a vacation in Cambodia about a month ago and were excited to try Cambodian food in Seattle.
