Angela's has good Pizza... It's not like the new haven style that this pizza snob is used to but it is a solid pizza. Ordered delivery and it traveled well (guy delivered on a bike) I liked the crust and they weren't skimpy with the pepperoni. Just an overall good pizza! Also got the greek salad and that was a good choice too! It was a chopped lettuce salad, which I wasn't expecting but that's the 2nd time I ordered a salad in this area and the lettuce was chopped/shredded so maybe it's just a Brooklyn thing... What a wonderful find for me . I was driving by this pizzeria, on my way to Pennsylvania. I ordered a large cheese pizza, and the owner asked if I wanted any toppings. I told him no thank you. He then whispered to me it's on the house (so kind of him), so I opted for pepperoni. The pizza was fresh, hot, and the marinara sauce used was perfect (not harsh at all). The serving size is also generous, the pizza was HUGE. There is plenty of seats to dine in and enjoy your meal, and the customer service as stated earlier was superb! This place used to be good. One day I ordered a Calzone with meatballs and got food poisoning. I been coming to this place for over 15 years. Back when mama Angela was alive and the store was sooo much different. Food used to be amazing! Last time I enjoyed the food was when Joey... the son of Angela made the food for us. He always had a gifted hand for food. Suddenly I stopped seeing him and the food started to cheapen in quality. The meatballs seemed like they were frozen. The dough had a much tougher and gummier texture. Sauce even tasted different. I guess the pizzeria was no longer under his management. One day I ordered the calzone with meatballs. When it arrived it looked bad. Hungry i was.... i ate half of it to be on the safe side. Half is all it took. Couple of hours later I was in pain. Real pain. Wasn't able to recover for couple days. Maybe I just had the short end of the straw and got a calzone that was left out by mistake. Don't really know... this place is nice looking and kept clean. Maybe its the cheapen ingredients. Who knows. Hopefully they turned back to using better ingredients since my poisoning. One day I might come back and see if the calzone is still bad or has somewhat improved since I'm not to far away. read more

Number of visits: Twice. Do I dare give this place five stars? Yes! Yes, I do! And for good reason. So, I haven't actually been there personally, and I lived in the area since I was little without ever knowing about them. Grubhub is what I used to order from them online. I read the reviews and was impressed by the perfect five they have, and wanted to wait for a special occasion to try them out. Whenever I'm hungry is always a special occasion. What have I tried of theirs? The chicken marsala pizza, garlic knots, and cheeseburger deluxe. The pizza was delicious: chewy and oily, but from the tip to the crust, rich in flavor. The chicken pieces were substantial and quick to make one satisfied. The garlic knots were almost like nibblers. I requested for them to be extra oily and garlicky, and they came through with that. Pop one in your mouth and they were tasty little treats. The options on Grubhub aren't extensive, so I had to ask, "Can cooked mushrooms be added [to the cheeseburger]?" And they were, which made me feel accommodated. The burger itself was moist, and probably the best burger from any pizzeria I've tried. Same with the French fries, which were crispy and crunchy. You get what you pay for. It's a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. Why did I give this place five stars? For quality and for making my dinner the way I wanted it. On point. Five stars. We ordered on DoorDash (they've since claimed that they will be removing this restaurant due to their incompetence). We ordered mozzarella sticks, fettuccine Alfredo with crispy chicken, garlic bread, and a slice. Pretty simple order. They instead delivered fettuccine in garlic and oil with grilled chicken, no pizza in sight anywhere. We called the restaurant, guy claimed they don't use DoorDash. No receipt found. Well the food had JUST been delivered to us. He magically found the receipt and tried to blame DoorDash for the mistake (they had no part in it). We photocopied the receipt showing our order and he saw that everything was wrong that we ordered. Then he said that he can't redeliver the correct stuff since I'm "too far" (eight minute drive away FYI) even though they messed up the ENTIRE order. Great pizza in the middle of a tough neighborhood! Place is decorated warm and nicely with a real sense of the owners tradtion. I think its named after his nonna (grandma). A flat screen is on the wall usually playing something customer's would be interested in as opposed to most others who play something they want to watch. He has a nice fish tank with some exotic fish in it that he'll gladly talk about if not too busy. Owner is a complete gentleman and seems to be hardworking. He also makes a very good slice of pizza! Specifically traveled to this place because of the reviews. It truly is a hole in the wall, where you can casually sit down with a group of friends and vibe. The ambiance is welcoming and comfortable as well as the owner is exceptionally nice. The menu is limited but that's not a big deal, it's a pizza shop. The pizza itself is good but not a throatgasm. I had a regular cheese pizza slice and it was underwhelming. It's more like the pizza you have on the go without any expectations. It definitely didn't leave me wanting more.
