I called on a Friday afternoon to enquire about a large pizza delivery order for my school. The girl on the phone told me it wouldn't be an issue. She told me just to call the day before. However, when I called the day before I was told they dont do deliveries and "maybe they could try their best" I needed a guarantee there would be pizza coming and not just pay a couple hundred over the phone to "see what happens tomorrow" I would recommend them based on the fact that their pizza is good. Rosa's reviews and photos assured us it would be exactly what we were looking for. When we arrived there were three NYPD officers in line for pizza -- usually a good sign a spot will be legit. We went full glutton mode and tried four different slices + impulse bought some mozzarella sticks. It was way too much food for the two of us, but we wanted to try it all. It checked all the boxes and then some. As usual, the fried eggplant slice was my favorite. Service was friendly and even though there was a short line at around 11PM, it all moved fast. Old school pizzeria....down to the slice. Yes, their Sicilian slice is the classic upside down slide. And to me it's pretty damn close to that famous upside down slice in Brooklyn (no need to mention names, IYKYK). Came in to bring back a pie home to the family and the Sicilian heats up at home the same way it would at the pizzeria itself. I also grabbed some garlic knots and they were exactly how I like them. Doughy, garlicky and cheesy! The staff behind the counter is always on their game. This visit, I asked for a slice while I wait for my pie, and I'm so glad I did. I was STARVING and my square slice was perfect for holding me over until I made it home. Do yourself a favor and be sure to stop in and grab something, whether it's a roll, a slice or a whole pie. I've been craving Rosa's for a while, so I finally made a stop at the Fresh Pond Road location. I used to frequent the Penn Station location and was probably unfairly biased towards them as I usually had quite a bit of mood enhancers before indulging. This is one of the latest Rosa's open so I ended up here. I had a BBQ chicken slice and a margherita slice. Crust is more like a white bread dough than a NY pizza dough. It reminded me of Cuts and Slices but I preferred the toppings at Cuts. Toppings were good here too. They did a good job of crisping up the crust too. Service was pretty quick. One restroom was out of order so there was essentially just one single occupancy restroom. read more

I think Rosa's deserves a 5 star. They're known for their upside down L&B style which is pretty good. Definitely a close cousin to its counterpart. The upside down square here is lighter than a standard Sicilian with a fresh tangy sauce that's layered over mozzarella. They also have at least 15-20 other specialty slices which are good. Riceballs, garlic knots, and beef patties in the classic slice joint. I'd recommend going with a fresh mozzarella slice with one of their upside down corner squares. Cant go wrong. read more

I've heard so much hype over Rosa's Pizza my whole life, and MAN - what a HUGE let down this was when we finally opted to go for lunch as a group, and it wasn't what I expected at all. The pizza looked like it was sitting there for a long while, and almost looked fake. I dismissed this because, could four of my coworkers be wrong about this place? To me, this was a huge miss. We ordered slices to eat inside at a back booth. I felt like I was in a buffet or something, and with the TVs all around, it felt more like a TGIFriday's than a pizza place. We ordered several different specialty slices, and they all needed something. More cheese? More oregano? What was missing? I couldn't put my finger on it, and it was driving me mad that I was having to alter my pizza so much to actually taste something. Further frustration was that the side serving of sauce didn't taste like the sauce on the actual slice of pizza. Was this newer sauce? It tasted too acidic for me, and didn't eat much of my slice. This place is very creative when it comes to pizza pies/slice. I've been here a couple of times. I ordered a Greek salad with grilled chicken. On both occasions the chicken was well seasoned. The salad was a little heavy on the feta cheese but it was pretty simple to pick it out. As far as their pizza goes, I wish I could order a slice every day but I'm not sure if my waist line would allow me to do so (lol). The tomato sauce on the Sicilian slice tasted sweet ( I personally prefer it that way). The rigatoni slice was interesting, nothing I would rave about. They also offer lasagna pizza slices. I think I'm going to give that a shot next ! This place is pretty busy. It looks like a mom & pop shop. I wouldn't say that they are friendly but they are definitely professional. The restaurant itself is open really late and it's large enough for you to always find seating. The staff is friendly and approachable and efficient orders are taken fairly quickly. Thought I might give a slight edge to their Maspeth location (#1), I still love this Ridgewood location of Rosa's all the same. Really stellar pizza and the kind of NYC quality that most folks living in the area might truly take for granted. The old school / local's vibe is still very alive in this location and is certainly one of the better pizza options in the neighborhood. I think the outside of the place looks bigger than what the interior feels like. The eating area situation feels a tad cramped with all the seating (small booths, group dining tables, tall chairs, low ones, etc.); clearly interior design is not their forté. I imagine things are different now with the pandemic happening, but I've preferred takeout here anyway. The most important thing about this place is obviously the pizza. Their infamous "inside out" Sicilian has been one of my favorite things to eat maybe ever and I appreciate they always have slices of it available due to the demand. Their grandma pizza is no slouch, with some garlic notes and saltiness in the sauce. The regular slices have my name on them as well: the pepperoni, eggplant, margherita, and plain cheese are among my favorites. Also, I don't know of too many pizzerias that have this many pasta based toppings but they have a whole gamut of them: penne vodka, rigatoni vodka, and ravioli. While I'm not really crazy about their taco pizza, I know folks who are definitely into it. And to top it off, they have vegan and gluten free / cauliflower crust options as well. Not into pizza? They have a slew of salads, soups, pasta dishes, chicken / veal / seafood entrees, paninis and heros. They have done a good job covering the field and they are fairly underrated in their deep fried dishes that include ravioli, wings, shrimp, and killer mozzarella sticks. I appreciate their consistency with making quality food and the guys behind the counter are a friendly and light hearted bunch. To avoid the lines / crowds, I'd recommend calling ahead of time. If a wait is not an issue, I think taking whatever pizza they have on display is fine, but remember that the popular slices tend to run out often. I drove from elemont to huntington in the pouring rain to get two slices and six garlic nots and i told them i wanted them cold so i can warm them up in my house they threw it all in a box and taped the box shut when i got home i didnt get what i ordered and i called them right away and they refuse to return my money back and told me he dosnt know how to send the money back what kind of bullshit is that for real im absolute making a dispute on my card when the process fully goes thru i beyond over paid and there customer services suck beyond belief and i don't know how they know how to charge a credit card but they cant return my money back that straight up sketchy bussiness with incompetent workers as well!!!!
