The breads and pastries are decent. The quality isn't the same as 12 years ago and service is alright. There are a few tables to dine in, but I do more takeouts. Nice to try out seasonal items once in a while. Plus it's conveniently located inside Great Mall, next to H&M.

This place was a great find. Very inviting and friendly staff. All of their products looks tasty. I got the almond croissant. It was very fresh and flaky and not overly sweet. I highly recommend this place.

Every time we come to the Great Mall it is mandatory we stop by this bakery and buy their Creamy French Bread. We get their "deal" 5 for $19.00 Definitely going to enjoy these later :)

Andersen Bakery has some pretty solid pastries and baked goods for a decent price. I was really surprised by how much I loved their white chocolate cranberry(I think) cookie they added to my bag. It's not my normal vibe, but it was one of the best cookies I've had in quite some time. I definitely recommend swinging by if you are wondering the mall. There very well could be a line, though. So, be prepared for that. Oh! Also, it's located at the opposite side of the mall from the food court. Don't make the same mistake I made. If you want to get food from here specifically, don't park on the food court side of the mall.

Lines out the door on a Sunday afternoon? Why yes, I'm definitely stepping inside to see what the hype is all about! Andersen Bakery boasts their creamy French bread, and I couldn't help but return to try it out once the lines subsidized. I also had their pesto cheese pastry. At $3-4 for their creamy French bread, it was hard to turn down, and it was quite soft. Their housemade cream was a delight to taste. Their pesto cheese bread, unfortunately didn't hit the same and tasted like any good old instant pesto on bread with cheese. Ordering was quite straightforward with the queue, and the line moved quickly with all the staff. One tip is to get in line to order because those are freshly baked versus the ones sitting out. Outside of their signature creamy French Bread, this did not exceed expectations is unfortunately a spot I would describe as a "one trick pony" with otherwise expected tastes of mall food.

Service was not good. I asked them to cut my pieces smaller and they told me no and that they were already cut. Look at these big a** chunks. :(

Price wasn't bad. We picked Five different ones. Don't know the exact names but it was a scone, curry bread, cookie, danish and a cream bread. It was quite the weird experience as I was walking in they said they were closing.. It was a weekday at 11 Am. So they kind of hurried me out. There were two workers both just looking confused. Would only come back if I was in the area really. Counter area was sticky too

Nostalgia. I've been coming to Anderson Bakery for as long as I could remember. When I had a job at Great Mall during my high school days, I would take the stroll across the mall on my break just to pick up a sandwich or a pizza bread. Over this past weekend, I had the pleasure of having lunch with my handsome date and introduced him to one of my childhood favs. We shared a Turkey, Avocado, and Swiss sandwich on a French Baguette. I told him I was afraid it wouldn't taste the same because it's been so long since I last had one, but to my surprise -- it was a complete nostalgic feeling at first bite. And the bonus was that it tasted that much better because we shared a sandwich and as we all know -- food tastes better when shared. This bakery is packed on weekend mornings because everyone is trying to snag up their freshly baked speciality breads. Join the crowd if y'all are in the area on a Saturday or Sunday morning so you can understand the hype firsthand.

It's been over 20 years since I've been to Anderson's bakery. I got the vanilla cold brew with coffee, jelly, tropical, passion, blast, creamy French, Pisano, jalapeño cheese, bread, and the strawberry danish. Everything looks absolutely delicious. The staff is very friendly. The place is a little rundown.

The last few times at the Great Mall, I saw this Bakery and was intrigued. I'm at Andersen Bakery in Milpitas this Afternoon, to pick-up some Pastries. It looks Chic in here. These Pastries look incredible. They do look like high quality European Baked goods. I didn't get this Pastry Box for me though, I'm giving this away to somebody else today. I give this 4.3 stars.

The pesto cheese bread just may be all about nostalgia now. I was totally craving this bread after a sub par pesto cheese half bake at Arcangeli in Pescadero. Since then, I've been fiending for this childhood goodie! Just happened to be walking around Great Mall and bam! Andersen Bakery comes into view! Ordered my pesto cheese bread and was asked if I wanted it toasted and sliced! Since we were full, we got it sliced to enjoy later. Verdict: still hands down better than Arcangeli, but not totally bomb like I remember. It was definitely pesto-y and cheesy in the middle with crisp, light bread, but two out of four of the sliced pieces (the ends) were sans pesto and cheese. Pushing it at almost $5 though. Ahhhhh, inflation!

First off, the place is super cute but also kind of overwhelming in the best way. There are literally walls of bread and pastries everywhere, and so many options that I didn't even know where to start. I went in planning to spend just a few bucks on Señorita bread and somehow walked out $20 deep with a whole box of stuff. I ended up trying turon, a puto sampler, a bunch of different donuts, and of course the Ube Señorita bread. Honestly, everything was so good. Like fresh fresh. The bread was still warm in my hands, which made it even better. The staff didn't really speak much English, but it honestly wasn't an issue at all. They were super patient and helpful, and still managed to explain what everything was so I could try new things. At the end, I just told one of the ladies I had $20 and wanted to try a variety, and she literally put together a whole selection for me. That was probably my favorite part. The line was kind of long, but it makes sense because the food is clearly worth it. If anything, it just reassured me I was in the right place. Overall, if you're even thinking about trying Señorita bread or just want to explore Filipino pastries, this spot is 100 percent worth it. Just be prepared to go in for one thing and walk out with way more.

Valerio's Tropical Bakery is on my top list of freshly baked Filipino bread rolls.

I told my husband we had to come back on the weekend so we could stock up on buns to eat for the week. We arrived around 12:30 pm and there were a few people eating in the front restaurant area. They currently have an XLB and wonton noodle special for $8 each, and we also noticed they have different weekday specials for around $6.50. We'll definitely be back to try some of those! But today, our mission was the buns. They have a really good variety to choose from. My husband picked out 10 and then told me I should get 10 too. I went for a variety, while hubby mainly loaded up on the custard buns. The buns are a good size, and the custard buns were packed with custard! I also tried the BBQ pork bun, which wasn't bad. The pork floss bun especially brought back memories of my mom packing them in my school lunches when I was younger. There were so many other choices, hot dog with green onions, regular hot dog buns, chicken mushroom, ham and cheese, ham and corn, tuna, taro, red bean, and quite a few others. I picked up a chicken mushroom bun to try as well. I was a little sad they didn't have a plain green onion bun since that's my favorite, so I ended up going across the street to a dim sum to-go place to pick one up. Overall, you really can't beat the price and variety, especially with this special. If you like Asian bakery-style buns, this is a great place to stock up. We'll definitely be back -- next time to try some of their food specials too!

The store itself is easy to find as well, with a clear label outside. Walking in, it looks half-closed--their cakes are all stored in a large refrigerator, with nothing in the case on the counter. There is a sign proclaiming "takeout only" in slight disarray, and the seating is pushed to the side. That said, the service is friendly and the employees are quick to help you and show you what they have in stock for takeout. I ordered the 4" Berry Berry Light Cake for a birthday, and they were able to write a birthday message on the cake board, which I really appreciated. The cake also tasted very light and the sweetness was subtle, which I really enjoyed. The berry flavor in the sponge was a little too subtle, though. My main concern is that the cake does not fully resemble the picture they advertised online. It is missing the freeze-dried berries on top, and the berry glaze did not reach as far down the cake as was shown in the photo. Because the berry glaze is the main source of the berry flavor, this was a little disappointing. Also, the cake was not finished when I came to pick up the cake (and I was ~5 minutes late). I'm uncertain if this is for freshness or if there is another reason. Overall, I like the spot for the fresh and light cake. It's pleasantly unique compared to your standard sheet cake, and everything is rather cute. However, it may be a better idea to buy the cakes in-person to be 100% sure of what it will look like, though daily stock is definitely more limited than if you place an order online. I hope they reopen their indoor seating soon.
