My second choice would be the ube pandesal a mildly sweet vanilla like flavor a traditional Filipino roll with a distinctive purple color (ube sweet purple yam) which has its sweetness. Even better is there individually slice piece of cake I got the Yema caramel cake slice goes very will with a cup of iced ube milk. Very poor customer service at the Milpitas Landess location. The staff member was unfriendly. I asked if I could get only ube and cheesy flavors from the assorted sponge cake since I don't like the other flavors, and she refused without any explanation or effort to help. In town and stopped in to get some goodies. The Mamon is great, it's a fluffy, buttery sponge cake. It's not too sweet, which I like. They are individually wrapped and if you buy a pack of 5 it's a better deal. I also got some of the Beef (shredded) Empanadas which are good. They have a couple other hot food items such as Palabok (noodles) and Areoz Caldo (rice soup). The cashier was very nice and welcoming. The bakery is super clean and everything is organized. The place is decorated nicely with colorful signage. They also have beautiful cakes with yummy flavors such as Ube, Mango, Caramel, and Tiramisu. We had the great fortune of going to the red ribbon bake shop today and we absolutely loved it. We were looking for Goldilocks and never found it and that was really lucky they had so many different Filipino desserts and the service was excellent. The guys that worked there were so nice not a lot of ambience in the place. It's really just a counter situation, but there are so many desserts to choose from. We got quite a few in including a slice of mango cake, Tainan loaf, ube einiamo, chocolate slice, and pork empanada and we absolutely loved everything except the pork empanada.
