Great venue for Filipino baked goods, pastries, and desserts! Prices have steadily gone up due to inflation but it's always a must have when it's holiday season. Pretty packed around a Sunday afternoon with so many people getting last minute desserts for holiday dinners. My family loves their dessert platter and I love their ube crinkles. All natural and fresh to order each day.

Palabok

Customer service is fine and their baked foods are also great. This is just a review for the palabok: Ive been buying their palabok here for a couple years now but this particular palabok i ordered today smelled and tasted like dog food. Not sure if the chef changed but theres something about this one today that tastes old and different.

I love this place! Anytime I am craving pan de sal, or Filipino sweets, this is the place to go. Their food is delicious and tastes fresh all the time. No disappointments ever. The bakeshop is clean and very well organized and the customer service is very good. I will always come back.

warm and welcoming!! it was my first time here and i was overwhelmed by the wide section of pastries!! i ended up getting the cheese bulilit and the ube bread! i literally devoured half the cheese bulilit by the time i got home

I bought this literally yesterday afternoon, 9/13, and its 9/14 and there is literal mold all over this suman. this costs 11$ and it gets bad after not even 24 hours? i am genuinely in shock and feel sick because i come here all the time. seriously this is revolting.

I enjoy going to this location. They have fresh out of the oven pandesal (bread). Once in a while I purchase fresh bread and other treats for my family. There's a lot of variety of breads and desserts (sweet or savory). You have to go here early when it a a major holiday. Be prepared for the long lines. Sometimes the line is outside the door. There are employees restocking often, manning the registers or even in the back of the bakery.

I love Filipino baked goods. The items that stand out here for me are their ube type pastries. They carry so many kinds of Filipino desserts, bread, and pastries. This place can get busy during the weekend. It's a small bakery in the Seafood City plaza. Parking lot shared with other businesses.

Pandesal

This review is strictly regarding Valerio's pandesal [filipino sweet rolls]. A big thank you to my Father-in-law for always being ready and willing to make the drive to Valerio's Tropical Bake Shop in order to satisfy my little monster's cravings for these delicious baked rolls. Whether you are in need of a quick breakfast, craving for a hearty sandwich, or simply demanding carbs, I highly recommend the pandesal. The rolls of breads are generous in size, very versatile to work with at any meal [whether it is breakfast, lunch, or dinner], and are so very filling. They are made fresh and are ALWAYS fluffy and soft. The parking situation is plentiful but be advised that foot traffic can be tough depending on your time of visit. Service isn't great nor is it friendly but our visits are quick so I try not to let it bother me too much. 4 stars specifically for the taste and quality. Pricing isn't going to break the bank either!! WHOO HOO!!!!

This is really sad I went here today around 12pm and bought some pamdesal and 12 pieces chocolate crinkled but the lady gave me 12pieces ube crinkled instead when I get home my kids are looking for chocolate crinkle I saw the disappointment on their faces .

Whenever we are in the area we always have to stop by. This is the second place where I like to get hopias. I like the ones they have here compared to other places we tried. This place is always super busy. Every time we stop by there is a long line but it goes by pretty quick. They didn't have the hopias pre packaged and they are quite pricey too. One order is only 4 pieces and cost $5.89. I ordered 2 orders of the hopia monggo and 1 order of hopia ube for my uncle.

Turon! Got a fresh batch

Freshly baked breads all day. Went it around 4 pm Sunday evening they were still baking fresh bread. It's nice to know even though it was close to closing time. They still have fresh bread being made. Must grab a basket when you enter, because after growing the shelves, you will definitely grab more than 1 thing. Make sure you browse online or come prepared to look quick, it can get quite busy and packed with people get their baked goods. Thankfully we ve been here and already know their TURON! Hands down. Crispy, delicious, & not too sweet. Will return for future family parties just for the turon

Ube steamed in banana leaf. Can taste the leaf in the ube not super sweet

Get the ube pan and the cheese pan! The pimento cheese pan isn't bad either but we prefer the regular cheese pan.

It was warm and extremely savory! I also picked up a Pandan Coconut Hawaiian Sweet Rolls and it was just as good as it looked. A typical sweet roll with a hint of coconut and Pandan flavor. Liked that it was fluffy. So glad we stumbled upon this bakery because we wouldn't have been able to experience the delicious bun and sweet roll. Can't wait to stop by again next time I'm in the area and try their other buns!

I rarely go up to San Francisco which has some good bakery shops that makes great pineapple buns. I found this place on Yelp that carries pineapple buns. When I came Sunday evening, they had none left. The cashier said she will set aside some for me the next day for pick up at lunch. Sure enough I was able to get 4 pineapple buns plus I thought I try their bbq pork buns. The pineapple buns were soft and the topping wasn't as flaky as the Hong Kong pineapple buns. The sweetness level and bun were light whereas the Hong Kong is much sweeter and slightly heavier. I say their pineapple bun is decent and their bbq pork bun is smaller than the Hong Kong version. I rate this place a 3.

The lamination and butter was spot on. The filling was just a touch too sweet for us. Had the original and the apple cinnamon. Didn't except the apple to be a fave, but it was. Think of an elevated apple pie or even an elevated McDonald's apple pie. Don't skip out, try it ! Also had the coconut brioche, very light but not much coconut flavor. I would come again if in the mood !

Even the malasadas were underwhelming and if you think they are similar to Leonard's, then this does not come close. For the Portuguese tarts, they were served a bit cold. I'd recommend reheating them. The crust was so oily it seeped through the napkin and the filling was overly sweet. I took one bite and couldn't finish it. Overall, the texture and flavor didn't meet expectations. Service was decent but the staff were not friendly. This was a bit of a letdown. If you can, I'd suggest driving or taking the train to SF for this better spot, Holy Nata. It was so much better.
