My favorite su bings in the Bay thus far
    Cindy C.

I'm obsessed with their mochi salted egg pork floss su bings (pastries) with different fillings. The only place I've found that does it this way. 85 degrees has something slightly similar during mooncake festival but nothing as good as this! Inside the Marina super market. D

I really wanted to like their pastries at almost $5 each but they were just ok. I got the taro pastry, Q mochi, wedding sesame pastry, and red bean mochi pastry. I just wasn't a huge fan of their outside layers even if the inside was good. The sweet and salty of the egg yolk, pork floss, res bean, and mochi if the Q mochi was a little strange for me. Not horrible, not great. The inside of the taro was good but the outside almost felt doughy. The croissant was buttery, soft, and delicious. It wasn't the crispy, flake everywhere croissant, so if you're looking for that, this isn't it. It was still quite tasty! We also got their wheat sandwich bread which was normal and delicious. They made for excellent sandwiches!

I was looking for the best red bean salted egg pastry and went to: 1) M.Y. Bakery $3.85 2) Sheng Kee Bakery $3.25 Both places accept credit card only at minimum purchase of $10. M.Y. Bakery is the clear winner without doubt. Nice dough and the filling was not too overwhelming. I would certainly go for the deal buying 5 and get one free. I give it -1 star due to the really high price and inflexibly payment options. Sheng kee on the other hand was disappointing. Way to heavy, buttery mushy almost. Didn't like it. Update: red bean Mochi was better than the coconut one with salted egg. Best is still the normal salted egg with red bean

Went there about an hour before closing and the bakery pretty much had almost sold their buns. A few options left. Price is reasonable and for the buns, there is a special for buy 4 get 1 free. Besides buns, there are also other varieties of bakeries available such as mocha cake or cake rolls. Minimum $10 if using credit card.

This is my second time ordering a custom made cake from them and they are always helpful and excellent in delivering expecations. I recently worked with Lydia to work on our custom needs and she was really patient and explained us the options which are available due to current covid-19 pandamic restrictions. It all worked out in the end and everyone loved the cake asking for references is a best complement in my mind. A must to try out if you're short on time from your event.

All the sudden I found mold on the bread. This piece is the middle of the loaf.

First off, the place is super cute but also kind of overwhelming in the best way. There are literally walls of bread and pastries everywhere, and so many options that I didn't even know where to start. I went in planning to spend just a few bucks on Señorita bread and somehow walked out $20 deep with a whole box of stuff. I ended up trying turon, a puto sampler, a bunch of different donuts, and of course the Ube Señorita bread. Honestly, everything was so good. Like fresh fresh. The bread was still warm in my hands, which made it even better. The staff didn't really speak much English, but it honestly wasn't an issue at all. They were super patient and helpful, and still managed to explain what everything was so I could try new things. At the end, I just told one of the ladies I had $20 and wanted to try a variety, and she literally put together a whole selection for me. That was probably my favorite part. The line was kind of long, but it makes sense because the food is clearly worth it. If anything, it just reassured me I was in the right place. Overall, if you're even thinking about trying Señorita bread or just want to explore Filipino pastries, this spot is 100 percent worth it. Just be prepared to go in for one thing and walk out with way more.

My favorites are the Spanish bread commonly known as a señorita bread stuffed with buttery breadcrumbs and brown sugar a great breakfast snack goes very well with halo-halo a traditional Filipino dessert then there's a hopia monggo stuffed with mung bean paste, hopia ube both 4 for $5.99 and chicken empanada for a mere $3.25 which had pork and beef but everything else is well stock and organized they even have drinks. Valerio's Tropical Bakery is on my top list of freshly baked Filipino bread rolls.

It was warm and extremely savory! I also picked up a Pandan Coconut Hawaiian Sweet Rolls and it was just as good as it looked. A typical sweet roll with a hint of coconut and Pandan flavor. Liked that it was fluffy. So glad we stumbled upon this bakery because we wouldn't have been able to experience the delicious bun and sweet roll. I rarely go up to San Francisco which has some good bakery shops that makes great pineapple buns. I found this place on Yelp that carries pineapple buns. When I came Sunday evening, they had none left. The cashier said she will set aside some for me the next day for pick up at lunch. Sure enough I was able to get 4 pineapple buns plus I thought I try their bbq pork buns. The pineapple buns were soft and the topping wasn't as flaky as the Hong Kong pineapple buns. The sweetness level and bun were light whereas the Hong Kong is much sweeter and slightly heavier. I say their pineapple bun is decent and their bbq pork bun is smaller than the Hong Kong version. I rate this place a 3.

The lamination and butter was spot on. The filling was just a touch too sweet for us. Had the original and the apple cinnamon. Didn't except the apple to be a fave, but it was. Think of an elevated apple pie or even an elevated McDonald's apple pie. Don't skip out, try it ! Also had the coconut brioche, very light but not much coconut flavor. Even the malasadas were underwhelming and if you think they are similar to Leonard's, then this does not come close. For the Portuguese tarts, they were served a bit cold. I'd recommend reheating them. The crust was so oily it seeped through the napkin and the filling was overly sweet. I took one bite and couldn't finish it. Overall, the texture and flavor didn't meet expectations. Service was decent but the staff were not friendly. This was a bit of a letdown. If you can, I'd suggest driving or taking the train to SF for this better spot, Holy Nata. It was so much better.
