My favorite su bings in the Bay thus far
    Cindy C.

I'm obsessed with their mochi salted egg pork floss su bings (pastries) with different fillings. The only place I've found that does it this way. 85 degrees has something slightly similar during mooncake festival but nothing as good as this! Inside the Marina super market. D

Q mochi, taro pastry, sesame wedding pastry, mochi pastry IG: @AmyNsEats

I really wanted to like their pastries at almost $5 each but they were just ok. I got the taro pastry, Q mochi, wedding sesame pastry, and red bean mochi pastry. I just wasn't a huge fan of their outside layers even if the inside was good. The sweet and salty of the egg yolk, pork floss, res bean, and mochi if the Q mochi was a little strange for me. Not horrible, not great. The inside of the taro was good but the outside almost felt doughy. The croissant was buttery, soft, and delicious. It wasn't the crispy, flake everywhere croissant, so if you're looking for that, this isn't it. It was still quite tasty! We also got their wheat sandwich bread which was normal and delicious. They made for excellent sandwiches!

I was looking for the best red bean salted egg pastry and went to: 1) M.Y. Bakery $3.85 2) Sheng Kee Bakery $3.25 Both places accept credit card only at minimum purchase of $10. M.Y. Bakery is the clear winner without doubt. Nice dough and the filling was not too overwhelming. I would certainly go for the deal buying 5 and get one free. I give it -1 star due to the really high price and inflexibly payment options. Sheng kee on the other hand was disappointing. Way to heavy, buttery mushy almost. Didn't like it. Update: red bean Mochi was better than the coconut one with salted egg. Best is still the normal salted egg with red bean

Went there about an hour before closing and the bakery pretty much had almost sold their buns. A few options left. Price is reasonable and for the buns, there is a special for buy 4 get 1 free. Besides buns, there are also other varieties of bakeries available such as mocha cake or cake rolls. Minimum $10 if using credit card.

This is my second time ordering a custom made cake from them and they are always helpful and excellent in delivering expecations. I recently worked with Lydia to work on our custom needs and she was really patient and explained us the options which are available due to current covid-19 pandamic restrictions. It all worked out in the end and everyone loved the cake asking for references is a best complement in my mind. A must to try out if you're short on time from your event.

All the sudden I found mold on the bread. This piece is the middle of the loaf.

Finding parking isn't difficult…read morebut might take a minute on busy days, as it shares a parking lot with the rest of a popular plaza. The store itself is easy to find as well, with a clear label outside. Walking in, it looks half-closed--their cakes are all stored in a large refrigerator, with nothing in the case on the counter. There is a sign proclaiming "takeout only" in slight disarray, and the seating is pushed to the side. That said, the service is friendly and the employees are quick to help you and show you what they have in stock for takeout. I ordered the 4" Berry Berry Light Cake for a birthday, and they were able to write a birthday message on the cake board, which I really appreciated. The cake also tasted very light and the sweetness was subtle, which I really enjoyed. The berry flavor in the sponge was a little too subtle, though. My main concern is that the cake does not fully resemble the picture they advertised online. It is missing the freeze-dried berries on top, and the berry glaze did not reach as far down the cake as was shown in the photo. Because the berry glaze is the main source of the berry flavor, this was a little disappointing. Also, the cake was not finished when I came to pick up the cake (and I was ~5 minutes late). I'm uncertain if this is for freshness or if there is another reason. Overall, I like the spot for the fresh and light cake. It's pleasantly unique compared to your standard sheet cake, and everything is rather cute. However, it may be a better idea to buy the cakes in-person to be 100% sure of what it will look like, though daily stock is definitely more limited than if you place an order online. I hope they reopen their indoor seating soon.

The presentation was absolutely beautiful, making it the perfect centerpiece for the celebration. The cake itself was outstanding - light, delicate, and made with fresh, juicy mangoes. It was refreshing to enjoy a cake that wasn't overwhelmingly sugary and let the quality of the ingredients shine. This was my husband's very first crepe cake, and he absolutely loved it. In fact, our entire family enjoyed every bite. If you're looking for a dessert that's elegant, fresh, and not overly sweet, I highly recommend this one. Nothing really stands out, but they get the job done if you're just looking for a quick drink. The biggest downside is the location and overall atmosphere. The shop shares a space with a Chevron gas station, and it doesn't have its own restroom. When I asked, I was told to use the Chevron bathroom, which felt unusual for a tea shop. The café also isn't the most comfortable place to hang out. I stopped by during a heat wave once and decided to stay for a bit, but it was still hot inside. I don't think the A/C was running, so I ended up leaving sooner than I planned. I could see myself grabbing a drink to go if I were already stopping for gas or just happened to be driving by. But personally, I'd rather drive a few minutes down the street to Barber Lane, where there are several other tea shops with better drinks and a more comfortable atmosphere. I can also do my grocery shopping while I'm there, so it's a much more convenient stop overall.

I told my husband we had to come back on the weekend so we could stock up on buns to eat for the week. We arrived around 12:30 pm and there were a few people eating in the front restaurant area. They currently have an XLB and wonton noodle special for $8 each, and we also noticed they have different weekday specials for around $6.50. We'll definitely be back to try some of those! But today, our mission was the buns. They have a really good variety to choose from. My husband picked out 10 and then told me I should get 10 too. I went for a variety, while hubby mainly loaded up on the custard buns. The buns are a good size, and the custard buns were packed with custard! I also tried the BBQ pork bun, which wasn't bad. The pork floss bun especially brought back memories of my mom packing them in my school lunches when I was younger. There were so many other choices, hot dog with green onions, regular hot dog buns, chicken mushroom, ham and cheese, ham and corn, tuna, taro, red bean, and quite a few others. I picked up a chicken mushroom bun to try as well. I was a little sad they didn't have a plain green onion bun since that's my favorite, so I ended up going across the street to a dim sum to-go place to pick one up. Overall, you really can't beat the price and variety, especially with this special. If you like Asian bakery-style buns, this is a great place to stock up. We'll definitely be back -- next time to try some of their food specials too!

I can sort of justify it by thinking that I'm also paying for the lovely space to work as well. The desserts are also a bit pricy, at around $10 per piece (and the pieces aren't huge).
