The last three pieces, before they also disappeared!

We've eaten at several more expensive restaurants on our vacation here in DC, but I just wanted pizza to eat at our AirBNB while my wife enjoyed leftovers from an earlier meal. After looking at several options nearby, I chose &pizza. I'm vegetarian, and pizza is easy to make vegetarian. They had a lot of great topping options, and I ended up with basil leaves, mushrooms and pineapple calling me as I made the order on the touchscreen. You're not required to use the touchscreen, but it was easy and fast. A couple of notes...the menu presently on Yelp is dated and doesn't have accurate pricing. Their website doesn't have a separate menu, but you can order ahead of time using the website, and you can see the options as you create your order. Go to https://andpizza.com then select the location near you and you can start the order where you can see ingredients choices as you go. My pizza was good, although I think I might have tried the spicy tomato sauce topping, the regular tomato sauce was good but my favorite pizzeria back home has spicier sauce than their regular sauce here. Overall, it tasted really good and I started chowing down as soon as I got back to our place. I probably should have remembered to take a photo before it was almost gone! The folks working there were friendly and my pizza was ready in minutes. It's clear most of their business is delivery or takeout like we had, but there is a place to sit if you want to eat on the premises. It isn't fancy inside, and maybe could do with a bit of remodeling / renovation; that's why I didn't give 5 stars.

My delicious personal pizza.

&pizza is nothing short of amazingness!!! I had Tina make me one of the most delicious pizzas that I've eaten tonight. It was an everything pizza- that means I literally had her put EVERYTHINg on it & with every bite, I could taste the variety of spices. If you love pizza, new in town, or just visiting make sure to take a quick trip over to &pizza. Believe me, you'll also be amazed at the amazingness of their pizza.

The place is too loud, I can barely hear my kids whining... Plus sanitation wise, staff are not wearing any hairnets. But they were very nice! Staff bathroom is clean, although no paper liner. Food was actually pretty good, esp the Hawaiian. I do love pineapple on my pizza. Also loved the moz knots! I wish I had more of it!

dirty bird plus pickled fresno chili peppers. spicy!!

Quick, easy, friendly! I went in 8 minutes before they closed, sorry yall you know how it is//: but they were so accommodating, fast, and didn't seem visibly annoyed lol. I got the dirty bird pizza and if you like spice, this is the one for you!! They didn't have jalapeños at first so they substituted with pickled fresno chili peppers. but then found jalapeños and added them too! spicy!!!! It was delicious. If I got it again, I'd add banana peppers too. yum yum yum. I will be back.

I liked &Pizza a lot. One of my friends chose this place and I am so happy that she did. The parking is absolutely insane. We ended up parking like 4 blocks away but there is street parking if you are lucky. I paid about $4 for 2 hours which was the max amount of time you could be in the space. Upon my arrival to the place I loved the black and white decor. The place kind of looked like a peace of art which I loved the most. The restaurant was clean and there weren't very many people dining in it seemed like a lot of people were ordering and leaving. &Pizza is kind of like your traditional choose your toppings pizza spot but the crust is oval and long. I chose the traditional sauce + spinach + pepperoni and cheese. You also have the option of adding extra stuff at theend which was cool. It took about 5 mins for the pizza to cook. I was able to share with my 4 year old my husband had an entire pizza to himself. The line was kind of congested a little so the lady whom made my pizza had to come and check me out to keep it moving. She was EXTREMELY nice + helpful. She looked like she may have injured her leg and she was still getting us napkins and make sure that we were okay. We ordered water for our drink but they had other options. One thing that I appreciated was the clean bathroom. You have to have a code to get in which is smart. We sat in the very front of the restaurant and I was able to people watch. The windows are big and provide some great natural lighting. Overall we enjoyed &Pizza and I would go back.

Barracks Row is one of the newer &pizza locations, and it is a good place for one. An area with tight parking but a nearby Metro stop, walkable from the Hill, and with many trendy upscale restaurants replacing the cheap fast food places, but not much in the fast casual arena. I'm amazed at how busy it was on an anonymous Monday evening; the staff were working hard and looked like they could have used another set of hands. But work hard they did, and I got my pizza in time to escape my metered parking before my quarters ran out. It was delicious as always. It's worth noting that the spicy sauce varies wildly in spiciness; I got the real kick on this occasion. I also asked for basil on top and got a basil forest rather than the usual couple of leaves, which nonetheless was well within the bounds of good taste.

Welcome to Barracks Row, &Pizza shop number 18! The first time I went to an &Pizza shop, it was a bit of a disaster. I've returned a few times since then, and when done right, it's five stars. While they have some awesome signature pizzas, I think the best way to go is to build your own. I practice no restraint at &pizza and load it up with toppings! Recently I tried the ancient grains crust, and I like it better than the traditional crust! For my base, I go with the classic tomato sauce and mozzarella (shredded blend and fresh). Then the veggies: spinach, mushrooms, grilled onions, maybe tomatoes and/or broccoli. Proteins: pepperoni, chicken, sausage, salami, and the showstopper: a sunny-side up egg! (You can also get a scrambled egg instead.) And then there's shrimp. I used to think shrimp &pizza was a weird combination (who would put shrimp on pizza?!?!?) - but think about it: shrimp cocktail is another variation of shrimp and tomato, so why wouldn't it work? Long story short, it does! Shrimp costs extra, so I don't always get it, but when I do, it sure is a tasty treat! Run it through the oven and then it's time for the finishing touches: arugula, sun-dried tomatoes, banana peppers, pickled red onions, goat cheese, parmesan, black pepper on top, maybe even some basil, feta cheese, and the aptly named moon cheese. (Moon cheese is a dehydrated cheese kind of like a crouton/crumble, but still soft.) It's a loud environment, because music is blasting and people are talking (and they have to talk over the music), so be sure to speak up when you order. Don't be bashful with the toppings - this is a no judgment zone! Everyone on the assembly line was friendly and made sure that they put on everything that I asked for. They were great listeners, and worked efficiently so that I didn't have to go ingredient-by-ingredient - they were well-trained for production and kept the line moving. When I got to the register, the cashier made sure that I got everything I wanted. I love how proactive their customer service is. Their excellent customer service, quality ingredients, and bottom-line delicious pizzas make me a fan of this brand. This is now my favorite fast-causal pizza place. A great addition to Eastern Market! Also, the Cherry Bomb housemade craft soda is The Bomb. It makes Shirley Temples accessible to everyone!

Samantha C.

It's been such a long time since I visited & pizza and how excited I was for them to bring one to Eastern Market but my Saturday experience left much to be desired. I noticed the menu has changed and now they no longer carry wheat crust. Such a bummer but I could get over it. The customer service and cleanliness of the space was top concern. When walking into the shop no one greeted me with a "hello or Welcome to & Pizza". Walking up to the counter still no "hello, how can I help you" instead the two employees talked to each other laughing and looking over online or mobile orders. We had to wait a solid 3-4 mins before he was ready to take the orders. The counter was messy and veggies seemed to be mixed and thrown carelessly in the holders. I would say the service needs to be readdressed before I make another visit.

Tonie G.

I grab and use in their entirety both the orange-y hot sauce and the green sauce every time while adding hatch chiles to the simplistico burrito. I've shown several other people this place and they loved it as well. When it turns to side door they make some bomb Detroit style pizza. I truly haven't had a bad example of the style yet. I don't know if I'm selecting well or if it's maybe just low key the ultimate style of pizza but this is yet another fantastic example. It's just a small, quick takeout place for the most part, though there is some seating outside when the weather is appropriate. As such, service is generally to the point which is fine by me.

Street Parking Only & It's Definitely Hit Or Miss. I Got Lucky & Found A Spot, But It Is Metered So Be Prepared To Pay. This Spot Is Literally A "Side Door" Located On The Side Of Scarlet Oak. Super Unique Setup With Cool Lights That Make It Easy To Spot. It's Different From Your Typical Pizza Place, Which I Actually Liked. Since It Was Monday, They Had Half-Off Pizzas If You Dine In & I Had To Take Advantage Of That. CHEESE PIZZA I Ordered A Cheese Pizza & Lemon Water. This Is Detroit-Style Pizza, So Don't Expect New York Style. It's Thick, With A Generous Amount Of Mozzarella Cheese & Tomato Sauce. Honestly, It Almost Felt Like A Cheesy Bread Situation But In A Good Way. The Crust Was Buttery With A Slight Crisp On The Outside & Soft Inside, Which Was The Perfect Balance. The Ingredients Tasted Fresh, & It Was Very Filling. The Size I Got Came With 4 Slices, & Honestly, 2 Slices Was More Than Enough. I'd Definitely Come Back & Bring My Son This Feels Like A Spot He'd Love, Especially If He's Into Breadsticks & Cheesy Pizza. The Staff Was Decent, Though I Didn't Interact Much. The Overall Setup Is Interesting, A Full Restaurant Vibe Inside With This Separate Pizza Concept On The Side. Different, But It Works. I'm Glad I Finally Tried It, Unique Setup, Solid Detroit-Style Pizza, & A Great Deal If You Catch It On The Right Day. Just Have To Be In The Mood For Detroit-Style Pizza.

That month I had started Uber driving, was in this area of DC, had heard good things about Wiseguy, and decided to eat here. Although I don't like paying to park just to simply eat a meal, I sometimes will make an exception for convenience and/or if it's a place I really want to go. But for the most part, I'll go to restaurant where they have free parking or at least I can find free parking near the restaurant. I remembered getting a parking spot very close and feel like I feed the meter like 50 cents in 2014 parking prices for a quick 30 minute meal. They have all kinds of varieties of slices from the standard toppings or just cheese to fancy ones. Although the pizza is fairly thin, but average for New York style pizza. I tried Andy's Pizza 11 years later in 2025, and while it was solid although not as good as Wiseguy, my real complaint with Andy's was that the pizza is very thin, where I was hungry very soon later; so a much worse value as pricing is comparable to Wiseguy. Wiseguy slices are big, and the pizza is top notch New York style. I went to this location a couple of more times after my initial August 2014 visit as I loved the pizza. Then, they opened up other locations. I went to Navy Yard one at least twice, once after a Nationals baseball game after a disappointing loss for my 4th favorite baseball team, Texas Rangers. Sorry Nats fans, but Nats are in my bottom 10 teams. I also went to Rosslyn & Pentagon City location, where parking isn't quite as bad. They even had a Wheaton Mall food court location, which I got to experience once, but they sadly closed. Every experience with Wiseguy has been positive.

It's worth the compromise- trust me! Both were delicious but I'll skip the detroit crust next time, and there will be a next time. For me the detroit crust was a bit spongy and had a slight yeast taste. Not enough to ruin the experience but enough for me to choose a different crust next time. We also got the ranch for dipping - new experience. That too wasn't for me. The ranch is homemade and great texture and flavor just not what I expected. It had a heavy dill flavor...yep...dill. Again, tasty but, for me, this is more for veggies than pizza. All in all, looking forward to trying other pizzas. Check them out.

Continuing the last 3 of the runner-up alphabet series (& then onto 2025 alphabet series with…read morerunner-ups included at the same time) and the only representing 2023, W is for Wiseguy Pizza. I first had Wiseguy on 3rd & Massachusetts Ave NW way back in 2014, and I knew I loved their pizza. I had also been to a couple of other locations in Arlington & their only one in MD, which closed, at Wheaton Mall. I visited this Navy Yard Wiseguy about 3 times. The first was on Monday, January 6, 2020. I had work travel to DC. My girlfriend of that time was working in DC. It was a brief period of time. She started in December 2019, then on that Friday, 1/10, the contract was furloughed due to the contract company President dying, so she was off for 2 weeks. Then, it was back to normal commuting back to DC, which was brief, as Covid was around the corner, and became 100% remote. She was happy I surprised her coordinating lunch at Wiseguy at Navy Yard not far from her work. This location was pretty new at the time. She & I loved our pizza. It's a thin NY style, perhaps the best in the DMV! The other noteworthy time I visited was on Saturday, July 8, 2023. Early that afternoon, I was way up at Columbia Mall, where I happened to be writing this Yelp review now, as I ate lunch & had a movie on my AMC A-List. Afterward, I was texting/calling with a friend. He was itching to go to a baseball game. O's were away, but Nationals were in town playing against one of my favorite teams, the Texas Rangers, and I had their pitcher in our Fantasy baseball league. We coordinated that afternoon having about 1.5 hours to buy tickets on phone, for me to drive from Columbia to Greenbelt Metro with some modest traffic on parts of 95, & metro all the way on Green line for the 4:05 game. My friend was running a bit later, so we didn't enter right at 4:05, but my heart sank when I heard Nats fans loudly cheering for a homer. My Rangers pitcher got clobbered by the Nats. I was pissed at him quickly dropping him the next morning as soon as I could. Although rain chances were low like 15%, there was a heavy thunderstorm that blew from DCA to Nats Park; almost the entire region was clear, but just bad luck. The rain lasted like 15 minutes, but I was pissed at the Nats because they delayed the game by 1.5 hours! They should've gotten the game going within 45 minutes. I think it was a ploy by the Nats to get people to buy more drinks & food. I refused to give the Nats a dime besides the ticket to go to the game. But after the rain, I was hungry from like the 5th inning to the end. We should've been out of there about 6:30 (which would've been on par with my hunger level) but instead like 8 PM. I told my friend about Wiseguy seeing it was quick & relatively cheap. He loved their pizza too as did I once again. If I'm ever in Navy Yard, Wiseguy is definitely a viable option for me.
