We come here occasionally when we're around and the food has usually been consistently fine with decent service. However, last time we visited this restaurant, a couple of weeks before Christmas, it took forever. We were there at an off-hour in the late afternoon. The salad barely had any dressing on it - fine for me, but my father-in-law had to ask twice to get additional dressing for his salad. The pepperoni didn't taste like any pepperoni we've ever had - maybe mention on the menu that it's more like sausage? It wasn't very good, anyway. We were there with four small children. Any other time I've brought the kids, the waiter has brought us crayons and paper. This time we had to ask, and then wait for a long time before it came. I also didn't get a refill on my soda until he brought the check. Overall, not impressed. The quality of the food seems to have deteriorated, it's expensive, and the service is very very slow. read more

I really liked this place! It's surrounded by an upscale shopping plaza, but a step inside and you feel like you are in a cool, converted barn in Vermont. - lots of wood, high ceilings The pizza oven is front and center and it's usually busy, but the line moves pretty fast and there's plenty of seating/space in the waiting area. All the ingredients are local and the sources are labelled on boards throughout the restaurant. The bar is a bit tight and oddly triangular shaped, so very narrow in some corners. We stopped in to get a beer while we waited and then were able to snag a couple of seats. Each day there are two specials - a meat pizza and a veggie pizza. We got the veggie special of the day, which was an eggplant pizza with fresh basil and motz. Delicious. The eggplant wasn't breaded, which was lovely and shows the focus on good ingredients. We also saw a neighboring table get the Jimmy's Chicken pizza - a southwestern affair with black beans, tomatoes, roasted corn, cheese and topped with sour cream, a lime wedge and some jalapeño peppers - and we couldn't resist it, so we ordered one of those too. Two small pizzas were plenty to feed two hungry people and both were outstanding. We got the house salad to start. This was a real stand-out from your average restaurant's "house salad", since it included greens and salad veg, but also toasted sesame seeds, seaweed and a homemade berry vinaigrette. We opted for adding blue cheese (goat cheese was another option) and I have to say, I think we played that card right. So good! I'd go back for that salad alone. And to clinch the deal: the service was amazing. Our first pizza came out before we were done eating our salad, which wasn't a problem for me or my dining companion, but before we knew it, a manager noticed and came over and offered to fix the issue. We declined - no need to waste perfectly good pizza and it wasn't like it had gone completely cold, but the manager was so incredibly nice and definitely cared that all his customers got nothing but the best. Dessert was also outstanding - a simple brownie (also locally sourced and moist and delicious like a good brownie should be) paired with J Foster peppermint ice cream, which was just perfectly minty, creamy without the harshness. So wonderful! read more

H and I were inkling for pizza and decided we had to bring SIL and her son. Driving to Canton from WeHa is never too difficult since it's literally just over the mountain on 44. Parking is ample and it shares its area with a number of businesses including Old Navy and Dick's Sporting Goods. I love how Flatbread has a decent selection of locally brewed beers on tap. H is always amused to order something different each time his glass empties. Also, they have the yummiest lavender lemonade- it is crazy out of this world! Moreover, I really appreciate the business' effort to bring in locally, and oftentimes, grown produce. You can really taste the difference between gourmet pizzas. H, nephew and SIL really, really liked the BBQ pizza, but it am still in love with the white sauced mushroom and sautéed onions pizza! Also, on Tuesdays, there are local non-profit organizations which make appearances at Flatbread. It's interesting to see what is going on in the world that I would otherwise completely miss out on. read more

Flatbread... You make my stomach full and my palatte happy! Upon entering, we were seated promptly, and the employees generally seemed happy to be there. That's a big plus! We ended up with a medium half cheese, half pepperoni pizza and a small buffalo chicken pizza. I was blown away by how delicions the medium was. The small was even better! The beer list is pretty fantastic, the food is amazing, and the overall experience was VERY positive! I'll be returning soon! read more

This past Wednesday, I went to Flatbread with my girlfriend as part of the Yelp Elite event. I'm still a yelp newbie and hoping to one day make it to the top of the mountain as a Yelp Elite member! Personal goals aside, it was a very good overall experience. We started the event with a house salad topped with creamy, goat cheese. The salad was very fresh and light, which made it easy to go back for more helpings. Flatbread uses local, organic produce in preparing their pizzas and salads. We were then served a variety of pizza options. For me, the pizzas were decent, but none of them really blew me away. The topper of the event food-wise for me was the Amigo hot sauce paired with oranges! The combination of sweetness to heat was purely a tasty delight! In terms of decor, Flatbread is very open with high ceilings. There were a decent amount of tables and you can see everything from pizza preparation to the oven they were cooked in. My only complaint is there were random jutting rocks spread throughout the establishment. I almost had a major fail by tripping over one of these gems, however was able to keep my balance and play it off like nothing happened. Once again, this was a very good overall experience. It was nice meeting new people around our age at the event, and the food was tasty as well! Check it out if you're in the area. read more

Not my thing. The room is nice enough and the smell coming from the oven is amazing, but everything else just depressed me to tears. The pizzas were admirable for their crisp crust and general precision but both we tried were just terribly workman like and boring, and frankly I thought the topping selections were going to be a lot more..."out there" but the choices seemed pretty meager. This place seems to be heaven for soccer moms with minivans full of hungry kids. I had no idea the salads were so big, you could easily split one with a dining companion which explains the (seemingly) steep price. read more

We first experienced the flat bread pizza in New Hampshire when traveling with the family and we loved it! It was exciting to find one locally. I have to say it was disappointing. The menu was completely different and felt kind of limited compared to what we were able to order elsewhere. The service was rather slow on a not so busy afternoon. This made it more surprising when the pizza came and one of them was not hot. It was nice to get better quality pizza in terms of the ingredients used but, because of the experience we aren't too excited to visit again unfortunately. read more

4 stars for consistently excellent food and service, year after year, and their commitment to community. I always stop by Flatbread during my annual pilgrimage from Florida to visit my parents. I count down the days until I can return. I usually go with a friend or my mom, but this time I shared the experience with my fiancé, Adam. Adam is from South Florida, and even though Florida is essentially an extension of the Northeast, he doesn't have the same pizza education as those of us lucky enough to live in the Tri-state area. To be honest, I thought the Flatbread vibe would be to weird for him. All natural and organic ingredients? A legitimate wood fired oven? Arame seaweed in the salad?? The closest frame of reference Adam had was Mellow Mushroom - and that's not even close to the same thing. We ordered a pepperoni & mushroom with the maple fennel sausage on half. Adam wanted to order a salad as an appetizer to share, but I held off. I've had it before and I love it, but I didn't want the seaweed to scare Adam off. The flatbread was delicious. Adam couldn't stop smiling as he chewed. "So good," he proclaimed. And so another Flatbread fan was born. Can't wait to return, and maybe next time we'll try the salad too. read more

Place has vegan pizza which is a nice treat occasionally. They have a good beer selection on tap too. I'm only giving three stars because of lack of cleanliness and upkeep. I'd never sat at the bar before on previous visits but decided to give it a whirl this time since I went for a quick bite solo. The bar had crumbs all over the place and fruit flies buzzing around the soda fountain with abandon. The floor of the bar was filthy and littered with dozens of bottle caps! I could understand that at 10 pm after a crazy busy night but at 4:20pm? Come on! The other off putting thing was the bar keep picking up and putting down several pint glasses to find the one acceptably clean one to serve my organic wolavers stout in. She never cleaned the ones that failed her inspection. There just seems to be a general lack of concern here by the employees and that usuall is attributed to lack of proper training and management. Food came out eventually, it had burnt edges which is unacceptable. I was going to send it back, something I very rarely do, Room for improvement here for sure. read more

Kerri P.'s recent review of Flatbread inspired me. I love this place so much and have been coming here for a longg time! The first time I went to Flatbread I was in NH a few years back, and it was before mountaineering Mt. Washington, so carb loading was in full gear. Seriously, their pizza is so delicious and they source locally and support local agricultural organizations (GROW Hartford had a fundraiser there a while back, which was great). They always have pizza specials, but you'll never go wrong with the regulars-- Coevolution is my favorite! Also, the gingerbread topped with J-Fosters pumpkin ice cream is to-die-for and the salad with seaweed and local goat cheese is equally as delicious. It's a bit expensive here, but it's so worth it. The pizza is also pretty large so there's normally plenty to take home if you're with only one other person. The bar is also fun! The ambience in this restaurant is also really superb, it's very rustic and organic (they use a lot of organic ingredients as well). read more

Flatbread is an organic pizza restaurant. Positives: Pizza- very tasty, I always enjoy it however it is not filling in my opinion. I could devour two large pizzas if I wanted to. Decor- ADORABLE!! I don't know how to describe it its like country/western but modern but I like it a lot. And the big brick oven helps too! Price- Pretty good, never have issues with price. Staff- Very good always attentive and friendly. Negatives: None :) The reason this didn't get 5 stars is because the pizza is good, but not filling and not my favorite but it is delicious and the combinations are fantastic!!! - Kim :) read more

I've eaten here several times and was never disappointed with the food. I almost always get what ever they have on special as they are unique. What I like is that they have gluten free options, which my girlfriend allergies to. I highly recommend using their hot sauce! They say it's an original recipe and they even sell it by the bottle too! The fact that they use all natural ingredients makes their food taste that much better, and you can tell the difference. The restaurant however can get quite loud. I'm sure it has something to do with the the actual place, but you can either everything. So if you are looking for a quiet place to eat, this isn't the place for you. PROs - awesome food - hot sauce is really good - just enough on the menu to get you to keep coming back CONs - loud restaurant - charges extra for gluten free orders read more

Good Organic Pizza and Toppings...small menu and can get busy! Still on the Organic good kick post viewing "Food Inc." Flatbread is on our list of good spots and pretty kid friendly. They serve pizza and salads, and have a week rounded pizza menu. There's a vegan pizza on the menu and you can add daiya cheese for an additional $2+. Once you order, your food comes pretty quickly. They also have a bar with a good drink selection and desserts like apple cider donuts, brownies, and Whoopi pies. I had a vegan/ gluten free Whoopi pie for dessert and they warmed it up before serving it. The staff is typically teenagers who will most likely not come back to your table until 15 minutes after you've finished eating, but in my experience everyone is really friendly and means well. read more

A little taste of the northwest here in NW CT. I feel like I should be wearing patchouli and listening to jam bands when I dine here. Not saying it's a bad thing, mind you... I dig it - great pizza.. flatbread, whatever - decent mixed drinks and beers. And overall - just a nice atmosphere, you know? It's a franchise of sorts but they do get involved with local produce vendors and events. Flatbread FTW. read more

I can't say enough about how wonderful my experience was at Flatbread Co. last night. I am seriously allergic to gluten, dairy, and eggs so pizza has not been a meal for me in years and it's the one food I miss the most since my diagnosis. I am pleased to say that the vegan, gluten free pizza I had last night was phenomenal - so much flavor! What impressed me most was the extra precautions they took to make sure there was no cross contamination. My pizza was specially prepared on foil in the brick oven to be certain it didn't touch the other pies. I have not seen such care and precaution taken at any other restaurant. The best part was when the manager, Myles, came over and told me that he was going to specially prepare me a vegan/gf dessert...and I had options! I went with the gingerbread whoopie pie with apple pie sorbet and wow...it was heavenly. While Avon is quite a trek from where I live in Glastonbury, I will definitely be coming back again and again. Thanks for a superb dining experience! read more

I first had this kind of pizza at the Big E - apparently that pizza is from the American Flatbread Company but it turns out they are sort of related to Flatbread. The first time I went, I had the buffalo chicken pizza...really tasty and I think 2 of us ate the whole thing. The 2nd time I went, I ordered the organic salad - I was a little iffy about the seaweed because I am scared to eat it in any other way than in sushi, but it turned out to be really good and added a nice taste to the salad. We ordered the Jay's Heart (mozzarella, parmesan, and tomato sauce) and another pizza that had chicken, black beans and corn - both were very, very good. I am partial to the Jay's Heart because I just love plain cheese pizza. The only problem is that since the pizza is so thin, I feel like I can eat way more of it; I do eat way more of it. But it's worth a little splurge because it is really good pizza. Soon after eating here, my boyfriend got word that someone stole his credit card number and used it...he swears it was someone at Flatbread who stole it, but I highly doubt it. read more

We met some friends and who have three kids for dinner on a Friday. Place was pretty busy but the staff was super friendly and very attentive to all of our needs. This is a great place to bring kids because the atmosphere has so much going on they can stay pretty preoccupied.. Its funny but this was I think the first time I ate here since its opening. We normally go the the original in Amesbury Mass. Beer was great, Margaritas were a little on the weak side, probably not going that route next time. Just going to stick to beer. We ordered four pizzas Mushroom, cheese, Jimmy's Free range chicken, and a special that I can not remember. - Look over the photos. I like a little crispier crust but the pizza over all was awesome! Tighten it up a little more its 5 stars! read more

I'm always on the lookout for really, really good, thin crust pizza with fresh, creative toppings. On vacation in Canton from San Diego, CA, I found myself with a pizza craving, but no reliable place to go to satisfy it. My little sister and I went to flatbread, and I'm happy that we did! I'm a vegetarian, and she does not like a whole lot of veggies, so we compromised by ordering one Jay's Heart (Just a cheese and herb.) and one Coevolution (Feta, Kalamata Olives, Roasted Red Pepers, etc.). The Coevolution came out first, and we were informed that the Jay's had ripped in the oven and that they had just slid another one in for us. No problem. The cheese showed up, and we began feasting. Between the two of us, we finished everything. We ordered a brownie sundae at the end, which was delicious. My only real issue here is with the portion sizes. We got one small and one big pizza, and that should have been enough to feed a family. Instead, we received enough to feed two, but certainly not 3 or 4. Delicious product, maybe just a small issue with presentation? Overall, I was satisfied and I will be returning on future visits. Well done, Flatbread! :) read more

Not terribly impressed. The crust was very good. I got the flatbread with olives and goat cheese. I certainly expected it to be salty because of the olives. I did not expect it to taste like a salt lick. I took the rest of the pizza home, in hopes someone would eat the rest. Everyone else echoed my sentiments. While I am sure not all of their pizzas are not salty like that one, I have to wonder about their food practices-Did they not rinse the olives in fresh water to clean off some of the salt? I guess not. Also, it was set up in a wide open space, warehouse chic. However, it was incredibly loud, the chairs were very uncomfortable, and the table for two didn't have enough room to have more than the pizza and a drink. Had to rearrange everything just to sign the check. Not a fabulous experience.... read more

If you enjoy a really great speciality pizza with all the little doo-dads and extras on top, then you'll love Flatbread! Everything is all natural, mostly organic ingredients and everything is made in house, all the sauces and dips. It's not a greasy pizza joint at all. I love that they have the like cornmeal granules on the bottom of the crust. That's my favorite part. We always come on Thursdays for live music night. It can get quite loud. But it's always fun. Tuesdays is fundraiser night. That's always a good time to come, too. I love the goat cheese salad as an app, buffalo chicken pizza, pulled pork pizza, and a brownie with homemade whip cream and graham cracker ice cream. My husband and son love the veggie specials. Last week was button mushrooms with garlic, kale, and goat cheese. It was a huge hit. If you love a loud, busy atmosphere, come on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. Even Tuesday gets busy with fundraiser night. If you prefer things not as loud, come on another night. We find it fun any night we come. read more

Told them I had severe allergies. Still got a minor allergic reaction. They aren't good with cross-contamination

If you want pizza, but you don't want just any old pizza, this place might a good choice. I mean, if you're looking for pizza, but you don't want that tired old rubbery crust from the local shop, this is definitely a better choice. Sometimes you just want that thin stuff right? So yeah, they have some good pies, with local organic ingredients and a really thin tasty crust. I just get annoyed at the way they cut the pizza. It's like really long rectangular slices that droop significantly when you pick it up. Especially if you don't eat it right away/get take out. Oh, and the draft list always has 1 or 2 really good craft IPAs. read more

The best food. Can't go wrong with pizza here. Simple and tasty. Great ambiance too. My favorite pizza place in the world.

My husband and I enjoyed a New Year's Day lunch at Flatbreads Company today. It was our first experience at the restaurant and it did not disappoint! From our greeting to the service to the wonderful food and drinks, we were delighted with our entire experience. We shared an organic salad, which was delicious, and proceeded to enjoy two small flatbreads. These were as generous as they were delicious (we boxed our leftovers. . .enough for another mean)! I'm not a "crust" person per se, but may I say that these flatbreads were just delicious! The fact that they also have a full bar was an absolute bonus. Oh, and don't forget dessert! We had an amazingly delicious special - a cider donut sundae with scoops of delicious J Fosters ice cream (an odd choice for a cold winter's day, but rest assured, an entirely delicious one!)...it may be the best dessert I've ever had! The casual ambience of the restaurant is great - the oak fired oven, the earthy, hippy, natural vibe . . .it all contributes to a fun, casual, and delicious eating experience. Definitely give them a try! read more
