3.5 stars. Takeout Review: This place is located in the Simsbury Commons. They're a pizza place with grinders, wings, salads, garlic bread, and knots. I wasn't in the mood for pizza so I opted for a grinder. They had a number of them to choose from. I got the 6 inch spicy chicken Parm ala vodka which comes with breaded chicken, vodka sauce, mozzarella, and Mike's hot honey for $12. The flavors were pretty good with the sweet and spicy. I would've preferred the whole sandwich to be toasted but it wasn't. I'm rating this grinder as 3.5 stars. I will order their pizza next time and come back with an update. read more

Think twice before you order here unless you like pieces of cardboard in a pizza box and a burnt, dry grinder missing ALL the included items - I simply added cheese but they removed the lettuce, tomato, and onion and gave me ONLY cheese (see pics). Grinder was completely inedible and landed in the trash - over priced and not worth the effort. There are MANY other places within miles of Lisa's - go elsewhere. read more

Lunas makes very good thin crust pizza. Good quality fresh ingredients. Even the plum tomatoe slices on the pizza margheritta tast fresh and bright. Limited beer and wine selections but some good ones as well as the standards. Worth a visit read more

I've come to Luna's since I was a kid in high school, and it has always been a favorite of mine and never gets old. I've had a wide variety of items from this location, and everything has always been top tier and tastes amazing. I moved out west for 6 years and found myself CRAVING the pizza from here, as it has that New England crust flavor that cant be beat (anyone thats eaten pizza from the west coast knows what I mean). My personal favorite item is their mango habanero wings, and I've demolished an entire pizza box of them all to myself. The staff is friendly and attentive, and have always been quick with getting your order placed, processed, and brought the table. The restaurant is wide and spacious, and is a great place to have a comfortable family gathering or even a party if you like (Ive been here on several occasions with larger parties and they're always awesome with having enough seating, though just like with any place I recommend giving them a heads up if it's a super big group). I will always come back her for the wings and Margherita pizza, but believe me when I say you cant go wrong with just about anything on this menu. The food taste old. Even though 'fresh' made. No one in the kitchen wears gloves and is touching the food with their hands. I saw one worker put her hair up in a ponytail and then touch food. Disgusting. The ambience is OK. The chairs are very uncomfortable and not a place to sit for long. I have tried many different things and given this place quite a few chances and never again every time they have gotten my order wrong and I do not request any weird things. read more

Called In Simple order 2 pizzas they said 20 minutes I arrive they handed me one pizza didn't even know I was missing a pizza until I told them so i sat there for 20 minutes .... I've never made this comment about a pizza place before but the pizza is too wet?!? I think it's because they use fresh mozzarella on their pizzas. My pizza was just soggy. I've been to plenty of the Luna's in the area, but this is my 1st at Lisa's in Simsbury. I went 3 towns away to try this Luna out due to a cool NFL playoff pizza special they had. Anyway, both the cheese and Buffalo Chicken pizzas were very good and steak & cheese sub was pretty good. Interior decor is nice, similar to other Luna's. read more

I have been to Italy three times (Rome and Naples included) and strongly believe Luna Pizza is the best pizza in the whole world!!!! We have been ordering pizza here for over a decade been and keep coming back. The ingredients are SO fresh and you can tell at first bite. Order anything on the menu and you won't be disappointed. Something unique that we love about Luna's is the Buffalo pizza special -the pizza is so good, makes you forget which team they are supporting. Nowadays, we mostly do takeout or delivery (never been disappointed) but there is lots of seating available in the restaurant. Always greeted by friendly staff. They use to have to most beautiful paintings of local scenery hung up on the walls for sale, but that has been fazed at this point. Would love if they would bring back the paintings! read more

Never been here, I had an appointment close by so I decided to try it out. The place was clean, there were a lot of tables, good options for seating. The young man that took my order was pleasant. I ordered their antipasto salad, it was nice to look at unfortunately their combination didn't work for me. I have never had an antipasto with mushrooms, artichoke and roasted red peppers. I don't think it works for this salad, also I wasn't asked for the type of dressing I wanted. Overall it was okay, I'm not going to knock it, I'll keep it on my list but would not be on my top 5. read more

Always a great meal from Lunas.. grabbed a small pizza and had leftovers for lunch too, great pizza, fresh ingredients and a variety of options. I have loved Luna Pizza since I was a kid. The fresh dough, crispy crust with the amazing marbled cheese and sauce. Make sure to try the mozzarella garlic bread. It's life changing. Can't beat the delivery price either! I always add ricotta to our pies and it's worth it every. Single. Time. The puffy, pillowy dollops of ricotta on the fresh hot pizza. Terrible we ordered a cheese pizza for our kids and they gave us a margarita pizza. Called several times tried to explain to them this isn't a cheese pizza this is margarita but no point. Went back tonight to give them a second chance. Wednesday Night- 6:30 - it was fairly empty. Ordered a large veggie pie, a chef salad and some brewskies. No service problems this time. Everything went easy peasy. One oddity was the veggie pizza. It came as advertised with a ton of peppers, onions, mushrooms, eggplant, spinach, broccoli, artichokes, and red peppers. What seemed weird was that it had all of these nice fresh veggies but the eggplant was the breaded and fried variety one would find on an eggplant parm grinder. Didn't exactly seem to go with the veggie "healthy" choice........ I'm a forgiving kind-hearted soul, so I will gladly raise their rating from 2 stars to 3. Despite numerous pleasant experiences in the past here, today I received a large pizza which was at best 1/2-cooked. The whole concept of thin crust is negated by it's being little more than a doughy bed for the admittedly delicious toppings. However my having to basically recook the pizza upon arrival kind of kills the joy and freedom of ordering out. Probably won't be back. read more

Ordered a large pizza at the end of a recent Sunday night. When I went to pick up, zero of the employees were wearing masks. I called and canceled my order, and got nothing more than a shrug from the woman on the phone, and a comment submitted online similarly drew no response. I still remember this in the former Farmington Valley Mall when the owner was a rastafarian Italian fella from Brooklyn. Really the gold standard of 'za and is still fantastic. Came here before heading into Hartford for the Eagles concert in October. The fresh mozz is really the difference as is the crushed tomatoes for the sauce. Thin crust that doesn't wilt. When the diatribe of expat-tri-staters complain about pizza when they move, this place is exhibit A why. This is a medium sized restaurant tucked to the side of a strip mall. It's actually next to a movie house making the perfect movie night. I've been a few times and the service is pretty good. The restaurant is clean and cozy. The food there is pretty good! For pizza, the pepperoni and veggie are very good. If you want something else, I would recommend the pepperoni calzones. This is the best pizza in the Farmington Valley. It's consistent and Lisa is absolutely all about customer satisfaction.

This is one of those places that you don't enter without the full intention of ordering a specialty pizza. I'm sure a plain cheese pizza comes out just fine... but you don't go to Benihana for the white rice, do you? Go for the gusto at Luna, or you're missing out completely. Take a look at the picture I posted of the White Florentine pizza, and tell me with a straight face that you don't want any. You won't do it... you won't do it! It's as visually breathtaking as it is sensationally tasty. At 14", a medium may not be big from a diameter perspective, but it's huge from a vertical perspective. We only finished five slices, and had the other three the next day. Mozzarella, garlic, spinach, fresh tomato, huge blobs of ricotta. That's a pizza fit for royalty. You are getting irrationally hungry. read more

I tried this pizza joint a couple years ago and I was disappointed because there was literally runny watery tomato sauce in the middle of the pie. The whole pizza was soggy and uneatable. My mom brought over leftover pizza from Luna's two days ago and I had to give it another shot. This time, it wasn't watery nor soggy. I had a slice of the veggie pizza and the BBQ pizza. Let me tell you, there's something unique and delicious about the pizza. The way their mozzarella is sliced up instead of shredded and also their thin crust is what makes their pizza special. Not sure if this location has changed suppliers but my last order was below their normal standards. The wings were not properly cleaned and we were unable to eat the pizza because it was so burnt. Sent an email to the location and got no response back. We would order pizza at least twice a month from here but it will be a while before I try them again. read more

Takeout order for a medium pizza and spinach dip. Spinach dip wasn't warm, super small portion and basically just spinach. Pizza was cold too. Super soggy, little cheese. Just terrible. Waiting to checkout was a nightmare. Only one person managing the register and tables. Lots of unhappy customers inside. This place has gone downhill big time. Will never return. All this for $30.
