Driving through to get to Salem and we end up stopping here. Well, husband just pulled in on a whim because 3 other restaurants we went into were take out only. I'm thinking ugh, pizza again. Husband is killing me with all this pizza we've been eating lately. It's okay, I haven't had pizza in Connecticut. Haha. George's wasn't busy at all, but the parking lot was full. They have a variety on their menu. Kids and husband got pizza. I got a grinder. A grinder automatically takes me to tiktok and the grinder sandwich or a grinder for breaking up certain things..yeah. This was just a regular ol sub. I guess they call a sub grinders in these parts. So I got the cold cut grinder. It came with ham, salami, pepperoni, lettuce, tomato, onion, provolone cheese, and peppers. It's really big, you could share it. The bread was fresh. The meat tasted fresh. Everything on the sandwich just tasted fresh. It was a really good sandwich. The pizzas were half cheese, and half steak, the other was mushroom and pepperoni. This was probably one of my favorite pizzas I've had. At least in my top 10. It was thick, but not crispy or floppy. It wasn't greasy. I don't know how to describe it. The mozzarella was definitely fresh. I was impressed at how fresh everything tasted.

George's Pizza House is right around the corner from where my wife works, so I did a takeout order and brought her lunch today. Ordered a small ham pizza and the fried chicken dinner (included FF, salad & bread). Total was $18.82 Pizza was Greek style, but we thought it was better than your typical Greek pizza -- crust was not dry, and the pizza was not greasy. I agree with Don P's assessment, this is "very good Greek pizza". The fried chicken was not so good though. The coating tasted sweet, it had a sugary glaze on it. Strange, we've never tasted fried chicken quite like it. Not good, wouldn't recommend it. Fries were a bit soggy also, but this is common when they are transported in a takeout container. The people working at George's Pizza House were extremely friendly. The women working the counter gave me a sample of the chicken parm for my wife to try also. We would certainly give them another go in the future, when I picked up the menu from the counter, I did notice it was more extensive than the online menu. Many other options, think I'll go for a burger or a grinder next time.

This spot has pizza by the slice, which I love. Slightly oily, but it has really good crust and sauce. The meat they use on the pizza is fantastic. Ample parking, and following Covid protocols. Staff is also very friendly and helpful

Every member of the staff was super friendly, helpful, and especially patient with our 4 kids. From drawing pictures for our youngest to color, to keeping our other kiddos laughing, the staff were all fantastic. The best part though, the food was amazing, and servings were huge, so we all have lunch tomorrow! Salute, and the Salute staff, are truly top notch. That said, it was clearly busy, so I would definitely recommend making a reservation on peak nights--we got lucky. The service was excellent from start to finish. Our waiters were very friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Portions are generous. The cheesy bread appetizer is a must-order--warm and perfect for sharing I ordered the cod and salmon, and both were absolutely delicious, cooked well and full of flavor. The wine selection is also strong, with plenty of good options to pair with the meal. Overall, a great Italian spot with great food, service, and atmosphere. I would happily go back.

So then I tried the white sangria and that was very good . For happy hour they offer an option of different sliders ( 1 for $6 for HH) I tried the chicken slider which was amazing highly recommend my friends loved the caprese and the regular beef sliders all were amazing can't go wrong . I personally don't recommend the HH pizza it's just too small I recommend just getting the regular size honestly . The chips for happy hour are great for sharing they give you plenty for just $3 ! Overall great time , good service ( though it did take a little while to get our food ) , great atmosphere ( and on weekend they do have a Dj at night which is fun )

It's a shame that the 2 elderly gentlemen who decided to go a family restaurant on a Saturday didn't see exactly how quiet the 2 yr old got when the fried mozz came or when he and his cousin were watching something on a cell phone. Point is, the entire restaurant was loud, it's not a wide open space, there was no wildness or kids out of control going on and should never have been singled out simply because those old to foggys were behind us. We'll be back every 2 weeks as usual, but this was the first let down we've ever had.

I may or may not be contemplating a couple of Tums. I'm conflicted on this 2/5 rating since I wish there was a 2.5/5 option here. There are some promising things about Frank Pepe's: a coal-fired oven, photos of the same white clam pizza I ordered that look more like pizzas I had in Italy than the one I got, and other options for toppings that might work out better. Perhaps asking for light garlic and maybe the addition of the calabrian chilies from the seasonal special pizza (or pickled jalapeños, if available) would've fixed the balance (and topping palatability) of this pizza. A different pizza also may be substantially tastier, but goshdarnit, we're close enough to the ocean that I'd like to think the white clam is a slam-dunk. It's even listed in neon in the window! As ordered, unchanged, off the menu, though, I feel like I need to leave this state for a pizza just to feel something. Connecticut calling itself "the pizza state" has thus far been a lie; a cruel joke wherein a few outstanding outliers try to gloss over the fact that most of the state's pizza is mid-to-bad. "Mystic Pizza" being one of the state's most famous audiovisual exports sort of fits given that the availability of standout pizza here appears to be a mystical unicorn I've yet to find after moving here last year. Pepe's gets serious props for using large chunks of clams that don't look like the typical, uniformly cut, restaurant-supply-can chunks, but they were a bit rubbery and almost completely drowned out by the amount of garlic. It's like they were cooked too long, and the moisture from the clams evaporated accordingly. The crust had a little crunch to it as well, but lacked the crispy bubbles and heavier charred spots I expect from this style of pizza and from the assorted menu photos. Either go foldable or go harder on the fire--anywhere in between lands in disappointment territory. Commit to a bit. $8 a pint is a bit much for basic beer selections like Sam Adams and Peroni, too, but that's sort of my least concern. We live in Hell where everything is expensive lately, and at least beer prices haven't shot up as badly as gas prices. I probably should've ordered the sangria in hindsight. White peach? Here for it. Also, the staff was friendly, and service was prompt. I really should give it a second chance with a more traditional tomato-sauce pizza, or maybe a margherita. If you go, expect it to fall short of the hype unless whoever made the nicely bubbly white clam pie in the photos posted here is manning the oven. Unless you like garlic as much as I like cheese, consider asking to go light on the garlic for a better-balanced pizza if you order this one.
