Small pizza with bacon and onions and half panzanella salad
    Suzy F.

First time visiting Sparrow Pizza Bar and my reaction was mixed. The interior was nice, very modern and sleek and it was very clean. We went for lunch on a Saturday and it was pretty quiet. Our server Ethan was very nice and honestly the highlight of our visit! The pizza was good, the crust was different, thin and kind of crackery and I got the small 6 inch with a half panzanella salad. Pizza was a little greasy, I did have bacon on it but it was still a little too greasy for me and the salad was good but not a panzanella. Yes the menu specified it was croutons not torn bread which is the traditional way it's made. But it would be better with actual bread. My boyfriend had the Cesar salad which was ok but a bit overdressed. Overall not a bad experience but not sure I'll be back.

I went back for Happy Hour with the girls! So well worth it! Happy Hour goes from 3-6pm. I was missing their delicious GF pizza! This time I added my own toppings. Their beet salad is delicious! So sweet! I had friends who aren't fans of beets who tried and loved it! The portion was enough to share if you got other apps or pizzas! Some of my friends ordered sliders, pizza, and salads which they were content with. Service is always fantastic and it's just a chill vibe during happy hour! When we went it was right after a huge snowstorm so it wasnt as busy as it normally is. If you haven't tried their pizza, happy hour eats or a night out at Sparrows.. give it a try!

Stopped into Sparrow Pizza for happy hour on a beautiful day, the entire front wall was open to the outside, felt like the official kickoff to spring! Kyle was the best, super helpful splitting our check and made a killer drink. The chips are insanely crispy and perfectly seasoned, definitely enough to share and a must get. Truffle mushroom slider was so good, the aioli hit the spot, and the chicken slider was perfect for a hot day. Would recommend and will for sure be back.

I went here for happy hour with my girlfriends. Their sliders for happy hour are delish! Only $6 a slider, you can get multiple to mix and match flavors. But just one is enough to fill you up! I got two caprese sliders as this was the vegetarian option and they were so yummy. They offer discounted drinks but mocktails were full price for happy hour. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were so nice, attentive and even split our complicated bill with grace. However, the happy hour pizzas and thin and small so I would get the sliders if I were you! Also when the weather is nice they open their window wall to let in fresh air. Dogs are allowed!

So far we have dined at Sparrow and ordered take out from here so many times. We have also brought our out-of-town friends here for the food and vibe. The staff is amazing. The atmosphere at Sparrow is very vibrant on weekends. We've tried all of their mocktails, and * Pizzas: The Elote, The Raj (without chicken), The Mayor (half pepperoni ), Butternut Bray * Bruschetta: Ricotta and Squash Their fries and mozzarella sticks are very worth it. The Elote is my personal favourite bar pie pizza from Sparrow.

Sparrow is always a 10/10. Lighting and music makes the ambience enjoyable. Perfect for a day night, girls night or going out with the family. we had a variety of apps and each person in our party tried a different pizza. Everything was incredible! I eat here every couple months and the one thing I'll say is that the service varies depending in your server. Some are amazing and super attentive, others you have to flag down to get them for drinks and the check. I typically don't mind because I'm using the time to chat and catch up with friends and family.

Me and my family came for brunch on a Sunday afternoon before heading home. It was pretty quiet and took a second to be sat but the staff were really friendly. They found out it was our first time in the restaurant and gave us a complimentary order of Arancini to welcome us. The Arancini were made with risotto that has peas in it so it was a different take for me. I'm not a fan of peas but they're easy enough to pick out and the overall flavor of the cheese, rice and outside fried to inside gooey texture was really good! We also split an order of shrimp scampi that I don't see on the menu online but it was there when we were there around the second weekend of July. The shrimp were a large size, really fresh, cleaned well, and had great flavors with butter, garlic and a little bite maybe for some with the red pepper flakes but for me it was a perfect bite. The meatballs were huge!! I was surprised when they dropped them off at the table, they were still really tender cutting into them and the vodka sauce was a different but nice touch. I thought it was cute that the cheese sticks were literally on a stick and great for sharing. Super stringy mozzarella for a great cheese pull as well. They made my inner child happy! Lastly, we split the Shy-Roni pizza which was fabulous with the hot honey drizzle! Super thin crust, great pepperoni and overall great bite. When we come to visit family in town, we'll definitely be back!

This weeks food adventure takes place at a great spot called Sparrow's in West Hartford. We had a party of 6 with kids. We sat on the patio and it was awesome. WeHa itself is a hopping metropolis! The menu is perfect and our waiter Dave S. Did a great job. The food is just awesome. So flavorful and the portions were perfectly sized. I don't have one bad thing to say about our experience here tonight. I'll let ya judge by the photos! Enjoy, we sure did! Sparrow gets the highly coveted MMMMSK™. That's all you need to know!!

Ordered the Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, vegan cheese, and a cheese pizza that was supposed to be to go. Brussel sprouts were great. Despite the restaurant being empty, it took forever to get our food. Server forgot to order the cheese pizza to go. It would have taken 15 minutes which seems really long for thin crust pizza.

I went with my family who came out of the country to try this place and wow what a treat!! The appetizers and pizzas were absolutely phenomenal, and the ambience very clearly spoke as a place to sit down and catch up with someone or for date night! My one issue was unfortunately the service because at times our server passed us multiple times without taking our order and it just felt like we might have been forgotten even though the place was not that full. Overall however I would definitely come back next time I'm out with friends!

I stopped in to Sparrow with a few friends the other night, and it did not disappoint. Drinks were delicious! If you like mezcal, then I'd highly recommend the Ooo Mami. The Butternut Bray Pizza was the absolute star of the show. It was so savory with the perfect amount of ingredients in every bite.

Happy hour amazing as always! Delicious mini pizzas, great service, great deals, and good vibes.

Finally tried Sparrow. It was so good. It's not like your traditional pizza with a thick crust or even a thin crust or a New York-style crust. It was thinner than thin, almost like corrugated cardboard with toppings. The waitress described a "cheese crown" on the crust, and, who doesn't want a crown made of cheese? The crust makes this pizza unforgettable. People who do not eat the crust are missing out big time at this spot! Food: I felt like I had to try the Beat Bobby Flay because that is why this restaurant has notoriety. It did not disappoint. "The Sauce" had this zesty, citrusy taste, that really elevated the flavor to the next level. 10/10. Coming in second is this phenomenal pepperoni pizza, the Shy-Roni. You can always judge a pizza joint by their pepperoni. It was a little greasy (like it should be) but that just means they were generous with the pepperoni, so I'm not complaining. Really a great pie. 9/10. Something to know is that the happy hour menu has smaller size pizzas, so it's a great way sample the menu. I can't wait to try the Shrimp & Ritz next. The fries were also good, and reminiscent of a Portuguese fry in that it is round and not a stick like a French fry. The ranch was homemade and was fresh, a little dilly, and absolutely delicious with the Cajun seasoned fries. Drinks: The happy hour menu had a nice drink selection, but nothing pairs better with pizza than beer. I tried a cream ale and I really loved it. I also loved the $3 price tag. The happy hour prices are great! Looking forward to a cocktail next time. Ambiance: The patio in the Center is perfect on a sunny day. Sparrow's interior has beautiful art and decor hanging on dark walls so the bright color pops. It is all a cool vibe. There is no bad seat at Sparrow. Service: I couldn't have asked for a better server. The service was just as good as the food. Our server was quick, attentive, and genuinely kind. She made sure everything was perfect without being intrusive, and I really appreciated that. Good service can make or break an experience, and she definitely made ours better. I am already looking forward to my next slice, or two! Sparrow is officially my new choice for dine-in pizza in West Hartford. If you're craving great pizza, good service, and a cool atmosphere, look no further.

The West Hartford store is consistently excellent even if it doesn't have the charm and history of the original New Haven restaurant.

Not…read moreclams, not cheese, not crust--just the allium family's most fart-prone, overhyped stepchild. I may or may not be contemplating a couple of Tums. I'm conflicted on this 2/5 rating since I wish there was a 2.5/5 option here. There are some promising things about Frank Pepe's: a coal-fired oven, photos of the same white clam pizza I ordered that look more like pizzas I had in Italy than the one I got, and other options for toppings that might work out better. Perhaps asking for light garlic and maybe the addition of the calabrian chilies from the seasonal special pizza (or pickled jalapeños, if available) would've fixed the balance (and topping palatability) of this pizza. A different pizza also may be substantially tastier, but goshdarnit, we're close enough to the ocean that I'd like to think the white clam is a slam-dunk. It's even listed in neon in the window! As ordered, unchanged, off the menu, though, I feel like I need to leave this state for a pizza just to feel something. Connecticut calling itself "the pizza state" has thus far been a lie; a cruel joke wherein a few outstanding outliers try to gloss over the fact that most of the state's pizza is mid-to-bad. "Mystic Pizza" being one of the state's most famous audiovisual exports sort of fits given that the availability of standout pizza here appears to be a mystical unicorn I've yet to find after moving here last year. Pepe's gets serious props for using large chunks of clams that don't look like the typical, uniformly cut, restaurant-supply-can chunks, but they were a bit rubbery and almost completely drowned out by the amount of garlic. It's like they were cooked too long, and the moisture from the clams evaporated accordingly. The crust had a little crunch to it as well, but lacked the crispy bubbles and heavier charred spots I expect from this style of pizza and from the assorted menu photos. Either go foldable or go harder on the fire--anywhere in between lands in disappointment territory. Commit to a bit. $8 a pint is a bit much for basic beer selections like Sam Adams and Peroni, too, but that's sort of my least concern. We live in Hell where everything is expensive lately, and at least beer prices haven't shot up as badly as gas prices. I probably should've ordered the sangria in hindsight. White peach? Here for it. Also, the staff was friendly, and service was prompt. I really should give it a second chance with a more traditional tomato-sauce pizza, or maybe a margherita. If you go, expect it to fall short of the hype unless whoever made the nicely bubbly white clam pie in the photos posted here is manning the oven. Unless you like garlic as much as I like cheese, consider asking to go light on the garlic for a better-balanced pizza if you order this one.
