Years ago this place had the best pizza in town and now it is so greasy and light on ingredients that it's not worth the money. 3 greasy pepperoni per slice with very little mozzarella. We ordered extra cheese and there was still not enough cheese. The restaurant is consistently short staffed and you have to wait a long time for the (only one) waitress to take your order and then your pizza still takes forever. Great food! Pizza is more of a deep dish style than a thin crust. The have the best peppercorn/ranch dressing that goes well on everything they offer. The buffalo chicken pizza is one of a kind, so good!! FYI it's CASH only. The roast beef (French dip) grinder is incredibly delicious because It's made on garlic bread and comes with a side of broth for dipping! This place has been here as long as the town has been. After moving here, I had a few people recommend this pizza after I mentioned that I couldn't find good pizza in Torrington. I ordered 2 medium pies to go and was told they'd be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived 25 minutes later and had to wait another 15 minutes in the bar area for my food. While I was waiting, all of the patrons in the bar were watching Fox news and discussing how much they missed having Trump as president, and how Biden, Democrats and liberals were ruining our country. Staff were actually outwardly agreeing. That should have been my queue to leave, but it was late, my family was hungry, and I just wanted to get the pizza and go. Based on the crowd and what I observed, it's definitely not a place that I'd feel comfortable bringing my family to eat. The pizzas finally came out. I swear the 2 medium pizzas weighed 15 lbs. I immediately knew I was going to be disappointed. What I was carrying out was not pizza. I wasn't wrong. When I got home we were all disappointed. The crust was thick, dry and overdone, while the cheese and toppings were so overly applied that it didn't even cook or melt all the way through. It was also very bland in taste. I decided to try this place because it did well in the Pizza poll on WFSB, I had never heard of it. I would say my review is some good and some bad. GOOD 1. The pizza itself is pretty good, I like the fact they differentiate themselves from Greek Pizza {which sucks} and NY Style which I love, I like it being different. Now, the crust if I closed my eyes I could have been eating the old Pan Pizza from Pizza Hut back in the day and I say that in a good way, this crust was thick as it was advertised and I liked it and really is very similar to the old style Pizza Hut pan pizza. Sauce was fine, my kids didn't love it. Overall it was a good pizza, maybe the 2nd best I've tasted in Torrington. BAD 1. People, it's time to get with the times and get a Credit Card machine SERIOUSLY, I had to use the ATM which will cost me about $5 extra. There's all kinds of data out there showing that people spend WAY more with a CC than with cash, paying the 3% will be more than made up with the average ticket price going up. Ordered a large bacon pizza tonight and brought it home. Very dry & stiff crust, was a chore to chew on something that had the consistency of cardboard. Not much flavor either, this isn't good pizza. I am a foodie and we have to admit this pizza is the best pizza. We like the crust and sauce and toppings are never a fail. I also will say they are consistent, every time we order we get just what we expect. I've never had a good pizza then a bad pizza ever in my life! It's always been EXCELLENT and tasty. This place is certainly not what it used to be. I phoned in an order for pizza and wings. The man who took my order sounded annoyed. The quality of the food was poor; buffalo wings were overcooked (not burned but dry) and also quite flavorless. The cheese on the pizza was a bit unusual in both taste and texture. Perhaps it's a cheaper brand of cheese. Just under $30 for a large two-topping pizza and wings is too much for food of such poor quality. Bought pizza for a work training meeting and this is where they wanted pizza from. When went to pick up the pizza they told me they only took cash and that I could get cash from the ATM at the back. When I paid I asked for a receipt and was just handed a hand written ticket. Very disappointed today. We usually love this place. Waitress was overwhelmed, we tried to be patient, but she was just complaining to all the customers 'I'm the only one waitressing today" Had to wait for her to clean a table, which is absolutely fine. I've been to this cozy little spot twice since I moved to Torrington and I'm impressed! The food was great and so was the service. The first time that we went, it was on a Tuesday and the server said that Tuesday's special was a loaded baked potato with chili, cheese, sour cream, broccoli and BACON. It was very good! The potato was huge! It definitely could've been split between the two of us. I wouldn't do the chili next time but I'm very happy with everything else that was on the potato. Second visit: We split a small pie with pepperoni, roasted green peppers and olives. YUM!! I'm a fan of ranch dressing with my pizza and decided to give the house dressing a try. It was very good. We went to Berkshire Cafe in Torrington, Connecticut to check them out and we were disappointed. The staff was nice, yet the food was not so good. The chicken wings were tasteless, very bland. The only thing that made them eatable was the Blue Cheese. The pizza was on the bland side too. It was missing flavor. It's like they make food for senior citizens expecting them to add the spices. I would not recommend this location at all. Unless you want to add your own ingredients to spice up the food, go for it. Nothing we tried had any flavor, so we are very disappointed. read more

Talk about terrible service.... Never been before heard it was good. Walked in standing at door because all tables were full. Waited 10 minutes standing by the door, not one employee asked us anything, sat down when a booth opened, waited for 5 minutes before the waitress (with an attitude) came over and told us there was a ""list" to be seated. She looked at us at least 20 times while we were standing at the door, yet couldn't be bothered to tell us the procedure to be seated??? This is a great local place. Don't expect fancy, this is a local joint filled with locals relaxing with some beers and pizza. My husband used to live nearby, but we hadn't been back in many years, and decided to stop in when we were back in the area. The house salad is a mix of lettuce, pepperoni, ham, cheese, olives and some other stuff, but the best part of the salad is the house made creamy garlic dressing. Delicious! We shared a large sausage, onion, and pepper pizza. I'd skip the onions next time and just stick with the herby, garlicky sausage and the roasted pepper strips, what a great combo. I also love how they dressed the pizza so every slice gets a long strip of pepper on it. The crust is on the thicker side but works well with the heavier toppings, and you get your leftovers wrapped up in the famous Berkshire paper bag. Fuck all. 2 reviews, this place offers up pizza comparable to any served anywhere in greater Boston. In fact, they don't even bother serving it in boxes, they use brown paper bags. So hot I guarantee you will burn the roof of your mouth if you don't use a fork and a knife for the first two bites. After two bites, you are safe. The only other thing on the menu is beer and salad. A massive anti pasta serves to satisfy your appetizer cravings while pitchers of beer quench the thirsting. From what I understand about this place is that it use to be way better! So my wifes dad takes us there and he hasn't been there in years. However he was telling us they have good pizza and it's a nice place to be around. The decor is nice, it has a pub feel which is very cool. First thing I had a huge problem was the service. We went in for lunch..only 2 families including us in booths and about 3 people at th bar. It took 1 hour to get my wifes salad and almost an hour and a half for the pizza...that is crazy! For a place that was no where near packed it should have been less than an hour. So the pizza..not a fan. I didn't find it enjoyable considering there are much better places in Torrington for pizza without a doubt. I'm sure this would be a nice place to chill and drink beers but I'm not going for pizza I can tell you that. read more

If you are looking for a unique dining experience that is not cookie cutter, I would give this place a try. The wood work throughout this cafe is impressive all the way down to the booths & entire bar area. The restaurant holds some history and charm with old photographs of Downtown Torrington all over the walls. It's a hole in the wall pizza joint meaning seating is limited and you have to seat yourself. No complaints there. You can eat at the bar or find a table. I recommend the house salad & the dressing. I was severely skeptical when my boyfriend, his sister and her husband suggested this place. I lived in Torrington for awhile but never gave this place a second thought. My boyfriend grew up there so I should have trusted him. Holy wow. The pizza looked and smelled so good though I didn't try any. I just got a small salad with some chicken added to it. It was delicious. It's a little cramped inside, seat yourself, cash only (with an ATM in back) but this is a tiny and kitschy spot. A definite place to come back to. read more

Even though There are many Pizza joints with in Torrington and Winsted I'll drive an hour just to come to this place. The pizza is absolutely delicious it's the only place I can actually take my family to who will eat it.
