Stopped for a small meatball grinder. My wife went in to get the sandwich. After about 15 or 20 minutes I went in to see what was taking so long. Their was not another customer in the store but she was still waiting for our order. I told the server we wanted our money back and we were leaving. I could see the cook start frantically making the sandwich. which we got but only after we asked for our money back. Got home the grinder was on stale hard bread and every indication of being thrown together at the last minute. It went straight into the garbage. I will never buy another item from this ill ran and bad service dump. Just down the road is a shop called Lucky's Harwington Pizza. Much better food and service. IMO avoid Hometown Pizza II at all cost. read more

We've been trying to find a new Italian place since our usual place has almost tripled in price. Decided to try hometown pizza 2 and found it disappointing. Chicken Marsala was mostly pasta. Sauce was lacking flavor. Chicken, what little there was, was dry, overcooked, and cut into bite-size pieces. Eggplant grinder was lack luster. Thick slices with heavy breading. Oily and mushy. Pizza was ok but sauce had no flavor. Antipasto salad was decent but missing a key ingredient...salad. Barely any at all. They were extremely busy, so we will give them another chance, but no time in the near future Maybe they just had a bad night.... read more

Hello, Joe Turbo here. I've been here several times over the years. My good friend used to live nearby and we stopped here on our motorcycles. He moved to SC and was back recently so we had a late lunch. We have gotten the Eggplant pizza with extra Eggplant. This time decided to try a large with 2 different halves. The Clams on one side and the Eggplant on the other. Unfortunately, our waitress did not hear the "extra" but it was still good. I understand there are several other "Hometown Pizzas" in CT. Customer service was terrible. Arrived at 2:40, waited 10mins to order our drinks, 10 mins for our drinks to be served, ordered our food- 4 slices, med pizza to go & a burger(which they refuse to cook to order, one has to accept med well to well. I personally do not enjoy eating to what amounts to a hockey puck.) After another 20 minutes & no food, I explained we now need our order to go. 10 mins later finally received our food. A total of 50 mins & I finally received our food, which was not great. 50 mins from ordering to receiving food, how long does it take to reheat 4 slices, make a med cheese pizza which was to go & a burger & fries?! No matter what you get, it's all good. Always ready in 20 minutes or less. Plain cheese is good, as is BBQ chicken...my personal favorite is buffalo chicken. They also have fantastic roast beef grinders. If you have a bad thing to say about this place, you need your head examined ASAP. read more

I've been buying their pizza for two and half years. Usually spending $25 - $50 a month. Tip around 15 -20 %. I was always totally chill with them, even when they were late or running behind. Stuff happens, no bid deal. I have a policy of finding some kind of complement for people and sharing it with them, nice jacket, nice car, cool hair cut, I appreciate you. Too many jerks in the world. So I do want I can to help people with their day by being a nice guy. Six months ago Hometown Pizza 2 had a guy with a f you city attitude, a foreigner with thick accent from another culture delivery the pizza. A rude obnoxious culture. He didn't follow directions he was trying to deliver to the emergency fire escape back of the building. No big deal, Amazon once a year makes the same mistake. I'm relaxed happy to get down with some pizza. Still happy. I work with delivery dude on the phone, I can see his car. Everyone wants to finish the transaction. But numbnuts was insulting and disrespectful about the tip. He let me know he wanted more money. I didn't complain, or call up and bitch about it. I did business with their competition instead. Six months later I give Hometown Pizza 2 a second chance. Last night I called them up. I said I'd like to order a pizza for delivery. The kid said are you sure you are ordering from Hometown Pizza 2? Yes I'm reading off your menu. He said I don't have your phone number we can't deliver a pizza to you. I said I have a new phone, can you put my new phone number and same address in? He started to but his brand new Apple phone said I live somewhere else. I'm like no I don't live in Terryville You guys having been delivering here before, we've done business before. Lots of time. He said"Sir, I can't deliver pizza to you" Click, he hung up without another word. I composed myself, got out my little black book, that has addresses, account numbers, passwords, old phone numbers etc. and call back. I say sorry about that. Maybe we can try again and start over fresh. He hangs again without saying anything. I call again. He said he hung without saying a word because 'we've been through this already ' I said I called back to give you my old phone number for your system. I'm at the same address, I just got a new phone. Anyway. You can't order a pizza for delivery if they don't have your phone number in their system in advance? Is this true? Why are they so disrespectful to their customers? Next week I was planning on funding a pizza party for my club Guess which one of 10 pizza places within 4.4 miles of me won't be getting my money. You guessed it Hometown Pizza 2. I've been coming here for a while because I really enjoy their pizza but the lasts 6 months or so every pizza I've gotten has about 3-4" of crust. Basically half the pizza is crust. I don't know if they're cutting corners to save money or have a different pizza maker but in any case I'm pretty annoyed spending money on a pizza that is half crust. If it's a financial reason the charge the dollar more and make them how you use to. Too bad read more

This place is awesome. Best pizza in CT (if you like thin crust) and best prices around. This place would have all five stars if they trained their teenage staff to serve properly. The middle age female server is amazing but the younger guys and girls are so disorganized that it can take so long to get a drink or place an order. At very least...Address your guests. Absolutely the best pizza in CT! I love the thin crust. It has a different taste and texture from any other pizza crust. They have pizza by the slice, usually four or so different combos. I love the eggplant! My son loves the bacon and onion. It really is the best and you just have to go and try it! The waitress we had at our last visit was so nice. Not many places in this area offer pizza by the slice, and most that do limit your choices to cheese and pepperoni. Hometown (It's Hometown II by the way, not Hometown 11) will probably have 6-8 or more varieties available by the slice at any given time. So if you're bored by pepperoni you can have eggplant, artichoke, fresh tomato with ricotta, etc. Definitely above average. read more
