Great lunch today with a picky eater 5 year old. Got there right as they opened up, and only one other table was filled. Matthew waited on us, and was great to accommodate with my daughters order. Delicious pizza with a coffee milk stout, good tunes, and playing go fish... Awesome much needed lunch date! read more

A pretty sweet place in Canton. Industrial interior with a large seating area. You are able to see your pizza made and cooked in one of two pizza ovens, which is pretty cool. All of the food is organic and the restaurant supports local farms. The pizza dough is delicious which is a big plus. There are a couple specials which looked really good. We opted for a classic cheese and a white herb flatbread. Both were good, the side with the sauce was better. A nice selection of local brews as well. This place looks like it'd be in Brooklyn or Portland, but it's in CT so that rocks! Definitely give it a try. read more

With a wholesome feel and a hippie- like atmosphere, Flatbread is the one stop shop for pizza. The ingredients are all natural, GMO free and the portion size is substantial. Pizza's can be difficult because a large can vary from place to place, however size isn't a problem here. The oven located in the middle of the restaurant ties together the modern bohemian style & it's always a personal plus for me to be able to see my food being cooked. read more

This place has changed, unfortunately. I went here and the food wasn't as good and I noticed the beers weren't local anymore. I found out why from an employee who left because of this. The lease was up and Someone else bought it and apparently has decided more money is important. Kind of a bummer, might be back in the future if it seems to improve. read more

Amazing pizza and salads! Gets very busy around lunch time, and therefore the service is slower, but the food most definitely makes up for it in my opinion! read more

A great alternative to regular pizza. You can easily finish off one of the small "flatbreads" yourself. All the ingredients are fresh and organic. Even the iced tea and lemonade is made fresh on site! It is a little pricey, but it's a fun environment! read more

I wish I could have even been given the chance to eat here, since I've heard great things, but the sad truth is I only set foot inside for two minutes and have decided to never come back. I walked in at lunch time and asked for a table. The hostess informed us that they didn't start serving until 11:30. When we asked her what time it was, she responded "11:23". We then had to ask for menus to look at to pass the time, while she ignored us and walked away. The hostess then proceeded to turn on some music that was so loud that our party couldn't even hear one another yelling at the top of our lungs. With that we just dropped the menus and walked out. It's a great concept, supporting organic and local, but don't get too full of yourselves. Without the customer, there would be no help for all the community-based organizations that are so grateful to Flatbread. But personally, I will just go to local farms, like Urban Oaks, and shop directly at their farmer's markets, skipping the Flatbread middleman. read more

Lovely ambiance and great food! A great date location and the weekly specials never fail to disappoint. Also a great choice if you're with vegetarians! read more

Whenever our family wants to have dinner out but can't agree on a restaurant, I say, "Flatbread?" and everyone nods. Flatbread has great ambiance, service, and food. The organic salad is a must starter. Our usual order is a Jays Heart and Canton Community. Consistently great, with perfect crust. Good beer selection too. We always leave smiling and, after at least a dozen visits, have never had a bad experience. read more

Great salads, pizza and root beer. I love the organic food and atmosphere. Try the warm gingerbread for dessert. Jays heart pizza a good pick. read more

Delicious!!!! Everything tasted so fresh and healthy. The mule is so refreshing if your wanting a drink.

We usually would give this place 5 stars. One of our favorite go to places in CT, NH and VT but last night was terrible! We ordered three pizzas and two were very overlooked yet they served them to us anyways. The waitress was lackluster, perhaps having a bad day which I feel bad about, but when you are serving others one smile, some appearance of friendliness is appreciated. Even our favorite salad was limp and the greens old and brown tinged. Felt like something had really changed and not for the better here. read more

Best desserts ever. The reason I love this place if because if they mess up your pizza, they give it to you the mistake for free. (The mistake is usually missing something) So, basically you get a free pie. Also, it is light and not oily at all. Great salad as well. A little pricey but totally worth it. The service is average with mostly high schoolers working. Neat place. read more

This place has such a great vibe. I love how the menus are pictures colored by kids, such a great idea. The pizza is all organic and tastes delicious. Jay's heart is their cheese pizza and it awesome. To add some zip ask for their locally purchased hot sauce. Their salads are really great too. Decent beer selection. We've gone on nights that there's live music and have always been pleasantly surprised by the local talent. There have been some younger bands or singers and the community comes out to support them which makes it that much more fun to be involved. They also are very involved in local happenings and support local schools and community events. read more

Absolutely loved the fresh ingredients and the menu flexibility. Ambiance is casual and welcoming. Donut sundae can't be missed. Highly recommend! read more

I love their pizza. Whenever I am in the area I beg my boyfriend to stop in. We never go anywhere else. Love the selection but usually get Jay's Heart. Try and save room for dessert. They have awesome sounding desserts. I've had the Cider Donut Ice Cream sundae - such an amazing concept and perfect for a apple fan like me. A little pricey but they use quality and local ingredients read more

We go there whenever we visit family; and we'll drive from the hartford area with family. Best pizza place we've found in the CT area. Good quality food, great salads, and lots of seating. Long drive from Hartford (can be 45 minutes), well worth it. For those reviewers that claim the pizza is poor quality, I think you may be comparing to Chicago Deep Dish, which this is not. This is brick oven pizza, thin, and many toppings to choose from. It's not as good as Pizza we've had in Italy (margherita types), but it's pretty good for brick oven! We've tried the gluten free dough, skip it, it's more like cardboard. The salads are great; decent (but not perfect) selection of ingredients. They should have some additional toppings like real tomatoes slided, avocados, etc. But the toppings they have are really very good. read more

We moved from NYC and was having a hard time finding child friendly place that is also a comfortable place for people who have food allergies ( Gluten and nut). The restaurant has this rustic eat village look which I love. The food is fresh and they buy most of their products from local farmers which is always a plus. They also have a great selection of Organic ingredients which is hard to find when you dine outside your home. They also serve vegan pizza which comes in handy during the lent season. All in all I say give flat bread a try and you won't be disappointed. read more

My husband adores this place so we usually end up eating here about 3 times per year. We used to live in NH and would frequent the Amesbury MA location but since moving to CT have been to the Canton location a few times. I do prefer the Amesbury location only because it's more "quaint" and cozy. The Canton location is fine though and comparable as far as food. It certainly is fresh and delicious, I just wish their prices were a tad more reasonable. I do understand that most ingredients are organic and that adds to the price. Every time I go I have to get the salad with goat cheese as an appetizer. My husband loves the local brews. It can be a little loud, but it's usually a good time with fast, friendly waitstaff. read more

Yeah, I gave it a five star. Try a chopped salad with extra dressing and bleu cheese (hold the seaweed). Chase it down with a cheese and herb or a jays heart with mushrooms. And a lemonade. Dear friends, this is as close to a religious experience as you will find here on earth. If you are lucky, the music choice (usually all over the place and sometimes off) will be 60's rock like the Doors or Grateful Dead. As you leave and walk through the sidewalk at The Shoppes (never understood the spelling) you will hear the piped in muzak elevator music all around the stores. Like Margret Meade, you will wonder how such dreadful neutered elevator music can be looped 24-7. The music just outside the restaurant is so lame, you will want to seek refuge inside Flatbread. read more

Very good pizza! A new twist on an old favorite! Their salads are also fantastic. Great service with a hip vibe. If you like spicy try their amigo sauce. A good place for any occasion! read more

Great food and fun atmosphere-- we sat at the bar during our last visit and it was lots of fun. Food is always excellent here--salads are outstanding and everything is fresh--you won't be disappointed! read more

The pizza here could be great if they consistently delivered on the proper amount of toppings. I have come here several times, and you never know when you're going to get a "dry" pizza that barely has any goodies on top. Make sure that you are satisfied with your pizza before you eat it. If they prepare your pizza properly, it will be great, but don't let them get away with selling you short for a $20 pizza. read more

Love everything about this place, it is welcoming and has everything for any age. Super family friendly... organic as well

Food 5 stars Service 0 stars First time at flatbread last night and ordered the pulled pork flatbread and we both had some sodas and my husband had a beer. The flatbread was delicious which is what is keeping me from giving them a 1 star, however the service was very much lacking..it was 8pm on a Saturday evening (they don't close til 10 according to website). We were sitting outside with only 2 other tables, but the inside didn't seem that busy either. The waitress took our drink order and took 15 mins to bring out our drinks (which were just sodas at this point) and asked for our food order, which was one pizza to share and a beer for my husband. which took another 15 mins (that's usual I'm sure for that one since the pizza has to cook). After we started eating we had to ask her for extra napkins when she came out to wait on one of the other 2 tables, since she never checked on us. Not once were we asked if we would like a refill on our sodas or how our food was, usually thats pretty standard in the food industry. Husband ordered another beer when she came out to check on another table, he never got the beer, but at $9 for 1 beer, as we later found out on the check, he wasn't too disappointed. And about 10 mins after we finished eating and it was evident we were done due to the plates being pushed to the side, I had to call the waitress aside again to ask for the check amnd a to-go box, when she came out to check on another party (not us, again). Husband made sure we had the debit card ready so she wouldn't take a long time to come back and get it, then when she came back she handed it to me (which is odd but not something to complain about by itself). He still left a good tip, as he always of does, because we were not sure if the waitress had some biases that may have been validated had we not left a proper tip. Maybe why she handed me the check instead of my husband but that could have just been a coincidence or a mistake. But the checking on every table multiple times and not our own cannot be ignored. After reading a few other reviews it seems as other people have experienced serving issues as well while dining there. It would have just been that had our server not seemed attentive to the other customers around us more than us. That is what bugs me more than just bad service. Maybe its because we didn't order a lot compared to them, but we WERE gonna order a dessert too but decided not to. read more

We came when They opened on a weekday was greeted with the lovely smell of woodsmoke! Friendly service and speedy food making. Fun to watch our pizza being made! Bonus Pizza was delicious! read more

This was our family's first time experiencing Flatbread Co. in the Farmington Shoppes in Canton, CA. The atmosphere there was lively and fun. We ordered 2 gluten-free pizzas and one regular pizza. Food came out in about 15 minutes, which was great since we have 3 kids. But for all of the hype in the reviews below, I just don't get it. My wife's homemade pizza using very basic ingredients is exponentially tastier (and cheaper) than what was served to us. The ingredients may be organic (which is great), but the taste simply does not come through. And it's not just that my wife is an excellent cook. If you want really good GF food, go elsewhere. If you want really good pizza, there are a million other places to go. Also take a look at their menu: http://flatbreadcompany.com/Canton%20Menu%20CH%207-21-11.pdf Do you see anywhere on here where they alert you to a $5 fee for ordering gluten free? Me neither. At first, I thought I was just distracted by the banter of three small children, but when I got home and looked online at their menu, I realized that I was snookered. So, we paid about $15 each for very basic small pizzas. You can simply do better going somewhere else, especially for gluten free. read more

I have been to Flatbread a few times since I live in town however, after my last experience I am not sure me or my family will be going back. The pizzas my family always orders wasn't even close to being prepared correctl/consistantly, we never received our drinks even after having asked numerous times, the dessert we got was not what we ordered and our coffee was never served. I would understand if they were busy however, even at 5:30 on a Friday they were not busy, and to top it off we were close to the oven where the 'cook' proceeded to bang and drum the oven with his cooking implements and sing! Maybe this explains why half the toppings on our pizza were missing and my kids cheese pizza was burnt. At least the bottle of hot sauce I was given for my pizza was brand new. read more

I could probably give Flatbread a better rating, but right now they do not deserve it. Ill give it 5 stars for the food, because it's excellent-taste wise and all natural ingredients for the health freaks like myself. However- I came in a couple weeks ago and was seated promptly but did not receive any service after sitting for 10-15 minutes. Not to mention that I saw another couple get seated next to us after we did and get attended to before hand. Came back a second time- same kind of run around. We put out name in and was told it would be about 15-20 min. Came back exactly 15 minutes later only to be told it would be ANOTHER 15-20, when our name was on the list! The service is absolutely terrible! People are nice, food is great, service is horrendous. So if you have nothing to do or feel like going somewhere to get mad, just come here! read more

When I crave for a high quality ingredient pizza with amazing flavor, I make the hour+ drive over to Flatbread in Canton.

Made reservation. Ended up sitting at bar waiting for reservation to come. Was paid no mind for at least 15 minutes waiting for a greeting, drink order, menu question, anything. Ended up leaving going elsewhere. Disappointing to say the least. read more

Ate here with family this past Sunday. They have delicious gluten free pizza. (Which can be hard to find) And the atmosphere was kid friendly, which was great bc we had 3 loud kids. Overall I look forward to eating here again soon! read more

I ordered and bought 2 small gluten free vegan pizzas. They were cold and soggy and flavorless. The most over priced worthless food I've had in any recent memory. Guys, if you're going to make gluten free pizzas you really need to do a lot better. I won't be eating here again. read more

Great service and excellent pizza. Always check to see what their current special is because you do not want to miss out on it. If the special doesn't make your mouth water then go for the jimmy's free range chicken. Also, the manager Mike is a great guy. read more

Waited 1 1/2 hrs. for the Community pizza. Waiter told us they were extremely busy. Pizza arrived lukewarm and soggy. Taste was bland, ingredients indiscernible. Owner/manager tore up the check, and the meal was worth exactly what we were charged - ZERO! All-in-all probably the worst restaurant experience we've had. Stick with any of the pizza chains. It will definitely taste better. read more

Flatbread is not just a pizza place, it is a dining experience. The moment you walk through the doors you are transported to a relaxing and organic environment that is light years away from the hustle and bustle of the shopping center and route 44. There is artwork hanging on every wall that was created by children or are old fundraising posters. The menus also feature the drawings of local children that give it a community feel. The lights are beautiful glass globes in the most striking colors and patterns. There are various seating options, you can have a picnic style bench, a table that is reminiscent of old school desks, or you can sit in a lounge type area near the wood burning pizza oven. Now for the food. Start with the organic salad, the lettuce is crisp, the salad dressing is addictive and the Arame seaweed is an unexpected delight. You cannot make a bad choice with the pizza. The Homemade Sausage and Jimmy's Free-Range Chicken pizzas are my favorite, but the basic Cheese & Herb is just as delicious. To finish the meal I highly recommend Barbara's Homemade Brownie Sundae. It is big enough for two but is so yummy you won't want to share it. As for the drinks, they have a nice selection of beers on tap and one of the most delicious mixed drinks I have ever had. It was last summer and it was strawberry lemonade with vodka in a glass rimmed with sugar. Yum! read more
