So I've been going to this auto car shop for a while now to get my Toyota Yaris serviced. A couple weeks ago I got into a bad accident and I thought I needed an alignment so Augustin did it, twice. The problem still had not been fixed. The problem was the car kept drifting towards the right ride. So he told me last week that the problem was my lower control arms on the passenger and the drivers. I wanted to confirm that so I went to a different, reliable place & all I needed was my tires rotated. In conclusion be careful coming here. I was sitting across the street having brunch, and as I looked out the window I remembered that I had friends who had spoken about a very good experience at this shop. I had been taking my car to Hrant up on Washington, but his quote for motor mount replacements was unaffordable to me. So I thought, I'll just use that feature on Yelp to request a quote. (Very neat feature, you can message the shop, service, restaurant, whatever, and usually get a very fast response!) Augustin responded very quickly. Today is Sunday, they were open. I stopped by and Augustin took a look at my engine. I was so impressed with his honesty and thorough manner of explaining the problem. Turns out this wasn't an immediate concern, only if the vibration was really bothering me or if I had a long commute should I consider the project. Wow, an honest mechanic! I noticed I had a big nail in my tire about 20 minutes before Al's closed. I called them up in a slight panic and asked if they could quickly patch it. They told me to come on in! About 10 minutes later, my tire was good as new! It only cost $15, which is a little cheaper than other spots I've paid for. This is in response to Essa's answer, below my original review, where he says his employee stated that "I said I couldn't afford for him to replace the hose", so it wasn't done. Now, that makes absolutely NO SENSE at all, plus I have a witness that was right there with me, when I was talking to his employee!! Why would I not have him replace the hose, after he just told me that was what was wrong with it? I said no such thing!! I can get a written statement from my witness and post it here, if need be! When we first got to Als Auto Repair shop, the employee saw how much my car was leaking tranny fluid, so he immediately put it up on the lift. He looked at it and said it was the pressure hose. I told him that I was relieved, because I could not afford to have the transmission rebuilt again, (since I had just had it rebuilt a couple of years prior). I'm not sure if his employee misunderstood me, when I said I couldn't afford to have my tranny rebuilt again, and thought I said I couldn't afford a hose? But for the $120.00 (plus the $18.00 tip I gave him, thinking it was fixed right) he charged me, I would have expected the leak to be FIXED, which it was NOT!! Plus, Essa said he would call me, and he never has, so I am not taking my reviews down, until he keeps his word. read more

They are a complete rip off I dropped a work van off to have the $38 ignition replaced and the next day they tried to hit me up for $450....ended up paying $300 for a $120 job ..I haven't contacted AAA and the DMV but it's on my list....not cool and go some place else....sorry guys you give mechanics a bad name! read more

BEST SERVICE IN TOWN! Trustworthy owner Zach (Zaven) and Mano are amazing at what they do. You can tell their passion is cars. They are very nice, easy to talk to, and will get the job done so fast! Most of the time, the job is done within the hour, so I walk across the street to the restaurant, have lunch and get back in time to pick up my car. Their prices are the best you'll ever find because they are honest men, which is much appreciated. They are knowledgable about every car, even classics. I've been through about 5 cars now and Lake Auto Center has been my auto shop for them all. One time, my classic BMW wouldn't start, and I had to get to school for a test. I had it towed to Lake Auto Center. Zach and Mano stopped everything they were working on, and got my car to work in 15 minutes. I recommend this place to all my friends and to everyone. read more

Second to none, I have been to both locations and they treat you like family. The work is always top notch and the prices unbeatable. I was so excited to hear Essa opened up another shop. And I was able to take my new "used" car to get tires on it. 2013 VW Jetta, which I bought "as is" from the dealer and had Essa's mechanics check it out. One tire was bulging and they temporarily put a used tire on It for me to keep me safe (took 20min) until I could have more time to get a whole new set. I came back a few days later when the new tires came in and he had me in and out in 45 min, balanced and all! They even did a courtesy check of all my brakes. Driving home felt like a new car. I felt more connected to the road, my traction was amazing, but more importantly I felt safe. His mechanics are very knowledgeable and they tell the truth. No B.S. Thanks guys! read more
