Al's Auto did the workby having to remove the door and connect the electrical parts and they charged me for labor. It was done carefully (no parts broken or needed additional repair in the process) and professionally. When a tech who is well groomed, wears cologne and is extremely responsive and courteous, he lays a good foundation for trust. He had a lot of customers and treated everyone fairly and efficiently. He even fixed the sliding mechanism of one door by putting some much needed oil on the opening. He found out what i needed right away, I dropped the car off and a few hours later it was fixed. Second great experience here. Augustine replaced my alternator on a Lexus GS 350 with an OEM part and had an oil change. Car has 227k miles literally running like new. What's most important with a car shop is trust, and Agustin has been very great to deal with. I know I am in good hands with him. He is honest enough to point out what is wrong and not wrong with my car. I thought that I needed my brake rotors to be replaced since they seems to be warped, but he is honest enough to say it is still good, did not charge me a dime, and even rotated my tires, aligned my wheels, and added air on all tires. So we bought a new car after the old one was damaged in a hit and run accident. But we wanted to keep the brand new tires from the old car and put them on the new car. Including balancing, it ran to $60. Bummer was, when we got out on the road, the front rims from the old car, when mounted on our new car, were rubbing the brake caliper housing. So we took it back, and Agustin was good enough to fix the problem and only charged us an additional $20 to swap the rims back then dismount and remount all 8 tires. Wow! For what it is worth, I didn't think it was the shop's fault that the wheels didn't fit. They were very similar wheels from two BMW325xis that were only two years apart and the tires were the exact same size. Who would know they wouldn't fit? (Certainly the BMW "Genius" I called had no clue. She advised I call the dealers. But I couldn't get any of the service reps to call me back. Anyway, I thought we were going to have to pay another $80 for the work, and when my wife told me he only charged us an extra $20, I though that was very generous on his part. My car overheating during this crazy heatwave in SoCal. I was able to fill it with coolant and make it to this mechanic (thank goodness they were open Sunday). Augustin took a look and immediately saw that my radiator hose was leaking. He replaced the hose, flushed the coolant system and refilled the coolant all for under $100 (which is cheap compared to what I was researching online). Most mechanics who are looking to "upsell" usually say they need to check other other parts of the vehicle and will conveniently find that I would have needed to replace a head gasket, thermostat, etc. Augustin did not do that, which I appreciate because it's rare that a mechanic doesn't "look" for other issues to fix. So honest! I stopped by after finding a nail in my tire that entered close to the sidewall and that was pushed sideways into the sidewall. I was hoping it could still be plugged, but the guy at Al's was a little worried I'd need a new tire since it did go into the sidewall. After taking the nail out, he told me that the nail never actually punctured the tire and since the tire was not losing any pressure, I was good to go. I was out of there in 2 minutes. Definitely checking with them first when it is time to buy new tires. read more
